The beef that is in the soup is not tough or chewy like you would normally get in soups. It was tender and would fall apart almost like butter. My partner stirred the noodles with minced beef before I had a chance to take a picture. It is a dry noodle that does not have broth to it which I thought would make it difficult to stir together, but it was rather effortless. The garlic, carrots and minced beef coated each noodle with the a dressing that is rather difficult to describe but delicious to eat. The portions are rather large so if you do go in a group I would suggest sampling different types of dishes. It is right next to Din Tai Fung and space for this particular restaurant is limited. The employees do try to accommodate bigger parties, but it would be recommended for date night or a party of 6 or fewer. The waitlist for this restaurant is through the OpenTable app which makes it easier to add your name while on your way or to even see how long the wait may be once you arrive. Completely ignored. My friend and I love going to Din Tai Fung but decided to go to Noodle Street instead. We went up to the cashier, and there was a male worker there. He did not acknowledge us at all. We waited patiently while other workers came to speak to him, and we still were not acknowledged. After waiting about 10 minutes, we decided to walk away. He continued fixing his papers and never once said a word to us. I am not sure if my ethnicity contributed to this experience, but I have experienced discrimination a few times in the past, which made the situation feel uncomfortable. I absolutely love this restaurant. I went for the first time in Pasadena and I LOVED it. I always skipped this place to go to dinner tai fung next door and I will never make that mistake again. The noodles are so fresh and the broth is so clear and refreshing. Noodle st definitely the definition of less is more. Although their isn't going on too much in the soup everything together pairs so well making it the best restaurant at this mall. You can adjust the spiceness of the soup which I love. They have the knife cut noodles which, to me, are way better than the regular noodles. The cucumber salad was also really good, and we also got the beef appetizer that looks like a burrito. This restaurant was recommended by my daughter. However, every time I had a chance to eat here, all of the tables were full. We were lucky to get a table for lunch on a weekday at 11:45 am. By the time our meals came, every table was full. The food is terrific! The broth is so delicious, and the flavor in the stir-fry was awesome. What a satisfying treat after not having eaten all day! Stopped by Santa Anita mall today to walk around and came across noodle street and I am happy we did. Though the restaurant is inside a mall, it is still very pretty and you still feel private while having your meal. Service was kind and prompt, I left my card when we were done paying and our waiter chased me down to give me my card, so thankful for her! The food was out very quickly; the only thing is they do bring the food out as it's ready not in a group, but they are so fast it's not much waiting time in between. Tastes good when you get it there because the sauce drops to the bottom, but you are the left with the most garlic and cilantro mix on the top of the cucumber that tastes so good. The cucumber is a must. I also had the their watermelon juice, which was soo good because it freshly grounded watermelon, which they display on the front. Definitely worth it! I'd ordered the first dish I saw, which is the Qinghai clear cold noodle. The noodles were large, flat, thick, and sponged the broth along with garlic and chive garnish very well. I've never had anything like this dish and I'm glad I had. It's very comforting and you can order it mild on the spice level which I did. My friend ordered the spicy beef noodle soup. Everything about this was a home run. The beef was savory and tender, the noodles had some of the most flavor and best texture I've ever personally tried. We'd also ordered the beef roll pancake for the table which came with 4 large pieces. This was melt-in-your-mouth, and I could absolutely see myself eating this forever. The hoisin sauce balanced the savory dish with a sweet touch, and made every crispy, flaky bite that much more satisfying. I had no expectations going into Noodle St. My family and I have seen it multiple times before when buying Uncle Tetsu's as it is right next door. How could a small noodle shop, inside a mall, next to Ding Tai Fung, even possibly survive? After running out of options to try in the Westfield Santa Anita Mall, it was finally time to try Noodle St. We checked in online on Yelp (definitely a pro tip when reserving seats), and my wife stood guard. The entire family of seven was seated within about fifteen minutes. We were given menus and kept oggling certain items such as the beef roll pancake and lamb skewers. We added potato string shrimp, signature beef noodles (with knife-cut noodles), noodles with minced beef sauce (with triangle noodles), bone-in rib noodle soup (with knife-cut noodles), chicken noodle soup (with standard round noodles), and spicy beef noodles (with knife-cut noodles). The other noodle choice that we could have opted for was the flat noodle but perhaps another time. Although we were seated in the corner, we could still see and hear the chefs pulling and slapping the noodles creating that classic "biang" noise with homemade noodles. Within minutes, our appetizers started coming, quickly followed by our soups. What caught us off guard was the depth of flavor within the broths. The chicken broth was so clear and flavorful as if chicken bones and bits were left simmering for days. One kid preferred the knife cut while the other enjoyed the standard round noodles but both loved this chicken broth. My wife loved the chewiness of the noodles with just enough bite. Each knife-cut noodle delicately lapped up the rich, deep broth. Another item that surprised us was the beef roll pancake. We had our fair share with my in-laws preferring Asian palates. This beef roll was stuffed to the brim and filled with the right amount of savory beef, cilantro, and hoisin sauce. The crunchy pancake juxtaposed with the soft, tender beef really sealed the deal. Upon paying the bill, our two kids noticed the freezer of macaroon ice cream situated near the cashier (dang, product placement)! The cashier told us they were having a sale for four for twenty dollars. Ehh, we spend so much anyway, might as well blow a few more dollars. All-in-all, Noodle St is definitely a place to try.
