Noodle St. is awesome. I love it. If I lived closer to east campus, I would come here all the time. It's definitely a step up from Nud Pob in terms of quality and taste. Service is great too!! Also, to my surprise, their chili flakes are really strong and tasty. Great casual date spot. Five stars considering the price. For the record, I do think Brown Sugar's pad thai tastes better BUT to their credit - Noodle St. is cheaper, and also very good! Got the mango shake too. I thought it was going to be thick, like a mango lassi or something, but it was more like mango juice and ice. It was ok. Sadly, even though this is cheaper, I don't go here too often because Brown Sugar is across the street from me, lol. Honestly, I wouldn't mind living across Noodle St. instead.... I've eaten here at least a dozen or so times. The one thing that I noticed is that if the staff recognize you, they don't treat you half bad. Overall the service is quite slow, especially during lunch rushes. I tried many noodle dishes. For the dry noodles, the Drunken Noodle dish was my favorite, though compared to other dishes, it was on the smaller side. I enjoyed the Boat Trip noodle soup as well as the NS soup, but didn't really care for the Tom Yum soup. For some reason, that soup paired with noodles didn't quite hit the spot. Can't really go wrong with the fried rice either. Never tried the curries, and I'm not sure why. Maybe next time I'm in town, I'll stop by. read more

Noodle Street has been feeding generations of BU students for 14 years, and their quality has been impeccable since DAY 1. I've spent years raving about the quality of their fast Thai cuisine that's always been so reasonably priced. As a college student it was one of the few affordable options to have genuinely delicious food that didn't break the bank. I graduated 10 years ago, I've lived in multiple cities, I travel often.....and I STILL don't think I've really had fast Thai as good as noodle street. It's gotten to the point where I thought...you've definitely built this up to be mythologically good, and you're going to be disappointed. I WASN'T. I just had the opportunity to go back to Boston, and of course, Noodle Street was at the top of my list to get back to. THAT.FIRST.BITE. I'd say it brought tears to my eyes, but you wouldn't believe me. The drunken noodle was spicy, the veggies CRISP, each grain of the basil fried rice was fluffy and soft. Don't just go, RUN to Noodle Street. If you're a BU student, I'm envious. Let Noodle Street be a beacon of comfort. If you're a Bostonian, do yourself a favor and make the time to go visit. And if you're just passing through town, bless your palate with a meal that won't only "not disappoint", but will elate your taste buds. To add additional color, I basically never post reviews. One of the BU tour staffers suggested this place for lunch. My son and I really liked it! I had the Tom Yum soup with rice noodles and shrimp ($7.95). It had just the right amount of spiciness and the shrimp were fresh. The waiter kept my hot tea full, too. My son had "Curry Fried Rice with Chicken and Shrimps" ($10.95). This was very nice, too. Both dishes tasted freshly prepared and nicely spiced. The only issue we had, and it wasn't a big one, is that getting our meal seemed to take longer than we would have expected for a 75% full restaurant. It was busy, but not that busy. It could be that this is an artifact of the full custom nature of the menu items. You can choose from various noodle types, broth, veggies, meats, etc. to make your own meal. This makes it great tasting for you, but it probably doesn't make it fast. Also, we were seated right away, but it took a while to get the attention of our waitperson to take our order. This could have been an isolated issue because all other personnel were very responsive. I only mention this because it was just a good thing we weren't in a tremendous hurry. Our lunch was not as fast as a VN Pho restaurant or other similar place. Once again, this is not a big criticism, just something you might want to know if you're pressed for time. I used to go to this Thai place often when I was a student, but I was usually disappointed with the noodle dishes while somewhat satisfied with the fried rice dishes. I recently gave this place one more chance to see if they have improved, but Noodle Street is still somewhat of a disappointment despite the decent quality food. In terms of the noodle dishes, I had the Pad Thai and the See You, and I thought the portions they gave were average, based on the price I paid. I remember finishing those dishes within a very short time frame and not getting my stomach really full from eating those dishes. They tasted good but there was nothing really spectacular about them. I also had the Basil Fried Rice with chicken. It's a really spicy dish, and although I got my stomach slightly full, I had to finish the entire dish in order for that to happen. The chicken itself tasted okay, and the vegetables inside were decently cooked, and were pretty good. I also had the NS Fried Rice, and I thought that was the most satisfying dish out of all the dishes I can recall ordering at this place. I enjoyed that dish even more by spending another dollar on the Crispy Chicken Wonton as an extra to the dish, and it definitely made my stomach fuller. Service was adequate, and I usually did not had to wait too long for the food. Servers were moderately nice. Although the prices are somewhat fair, I still felt that I did not get my money's worth every time I order something mainly due to the average portions. If I really wanted Thai food at a better value and that would give me more than enough food, I would go to Nud Pob down the street and it was my primary choice. SPICY BASIL CHICKEN/TOFU RICE Lunch: you get a whole half of white rice and maybe 3 pieces of chicken and very little vegetables for $8.50. NOT WORTH it. (1/5) 2. FRESH ROLLS: were great ($5.95) pretty expensive for 2 rolls filled with tofu but it was delicious. I love fresh rolls but this did not taste as fresh. The rice paper was a bit to thick and chewy. But it was big in size and they give you two sauces. (3.5/5) 3. BOAT NOODLE SOUP: ($9ish) this is probably the best tasting dish that I've tried here. They have both dry and wet/soup options. Late lunch at Noodle Street. Wandered in here after a long walk through the BU campus. My sister mentioned this place was recently renovated. Nice space for a casual lunch. They didn't do a good job with the cushioned seats along the walls. The seats are not deep enough and the backs are too plush. You're basically forced to sit completely upright. Not comfortable at all. Dad ordered the Pad Thai with vermicelli and chicken ($7.95). Looked really bland, but apparently tasted okay. Barely had any chopped peanuts though. My sister and I shared the Pad See Ew with lo mein and tofu ($7.95). They were more generous with the veggies on the Pad See Ew and way too generous with the soy sauce. It was tasty, but the noodles were a little too salty. Unfortunately, the tofu didn't have much flavor. Guess they don't marinade their tofu. Average experience overall. Service was decent, but they do seem a bit inexperienced. I appreciate that the food was brought out quickly. Classic takeout food at a reasonable price. Came in for a short lunch while visiting the Boston University Campus. Service: The server was very prompt in bringing me water as well as taking my order. The food was also brought out after about 15 minutes, so pretty reasonable. The only thing that I thought was strange was that I was kicked out at 3:30 as they close for a random hour between 3:30-4:30. Food: I ordered the basil fried rice with vegetables, and it was pretty standard as far as this dish goes at your typical Thai restaurant. The portion size also wasn't bad, and I took a little less than half to go. Ambience: I would rate this place as a casual lunch spot, and not necessarily a nice place for dinner. I'm not really sure what kind of cuisine this place is supposed to be. Thai? Chinese? Japanese? I came here randomly with a friend, and the tables are really packed together. It's super casual, and the servers and staff are all really friendly. I ordered the spicy miso ramen. It was definitely not authentic ramen by any means. The broth was so-so, but the noodles were the complete wrong type of noodle (I feel like these are the same noodles that they use for stir-fry e-fu noodles) and were way overcooked. Went here recently for a friend's birthday dinner and had a great time. Several of us ordered different versions of the drunken noodles, and they were delicious! It's pretty spicy though, even for someone with a decently high spice tolerance, so take that into account when considering a spice level! One of our friends' food order wasn't put in, so that was kind of a bummer. On the plus side, they refrigerated an outside cake for us and served it after dinner which we really appreciated! Noodle Street is A-OK in my book indeed. Although the last visit wasn't the greatest, I have always had well-prepared and freshly spiced meals here. I came in for lunch the other day with a friend. We ordered the steamed Sheumai dumplings to start, which were pretty good, and for my lunch I went with my favorite, Drunken Noodles. It would have been excellent if it hadn't been burned, because the flavors and heat that they got into that dish were top notch. I felt that overall, this time they didn't bring their A-Game. The food didn't have its usual pop and zing. But that's ok. Other than that snafu, I think that Noodle Street is pretty delish. read more

Ordered the thai fried chicken (original flavor) because I love Korean fried chicken and thought this would be interesting to try out. I had to wait 30 minutes for my food, because the chef wanted to make it fresh. 40 minutes later I got my food. The chicken was dry, some of the skin fell off, and flavor was too salty for my liking. It came with rice and salad, the portions was very good and the price very reasonable $10. Break down of the rating: Price - 4/5 Fried Chicken - 2.5/5 Service - 3/5 (owner very friendly and attentive) I will come back again and order the noodle dishes and provide an updated review. This is an Asian Restaurant, but it does not confine itself to one type or style of cuisine. If you want Chinese, it has some. If you want Japanese, it's there. If you want Thai, you're in luck. If I missed any, I apologize. In the past, I've had bad experiences with restaurants that have a culturally/regionally diversified menu, but I went in anyway. The Drunken Noodles was spicy and flavorful. Absolutely delicious! The vegetables were fresh and the chicken was tender. The Fresh Rolls were OK. At $5.50, however, it was pretty expensive for two meager rolls filled with tofu and vegetables; plus, the rice paper wrapping was thick and chewy. Worst customer service. I ordered delivery and did not receive the dish that I ordered. I asked for wide noodles and they sent me the skinniest possible noodle instead, which I cannot stand the texture of and makes it hard for me to eat. When I called the restaurant, they made no attempt to rectify the situation nor did they offer to send me the actual dish I ordered. I have to specify rice noodles because I am gluten free, and I've ordered this many times in the past with the same note about the rice noodles. I called the restaurant and they said "sorry, next time you shouldn't specify that you need rice noodles because that confused our staff." Really? That was ALL they had to say. Yikes. It's some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced, for them to send the wrong order and then say it's my fault, even though I've placed the same order at the restaurant many times. A friend and I came here for a quick dinner before a movie. We were seated quickly (because the restaurant was not full) and were given waters right away. By the time I glanced at the menu, I was extremely suspicious. I am half Japanese, a quarter Korean, and a quarter Okinawan. It is *gyoza NOT *kyoza!!! Once I saw that... I was not expecting much from this place. After reading some of the other reviews, I knew to stay away from the soups and to order something with "extra flavor." Instead of ordering the regular pad Thai with chicken and shrimp (I'm not sure why you need to get both... usually restaurants offer you a choice of one or the other), I got the TomYum pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. TomYum is apparently some kind of soup popular around here that is spicy and sour. Much to our surprise, the food was pretty good! My friend enjoyed her fried rice and my pad Thai was very yummy - spicy and flavorful. However, when we got our bill... we were very confused. Nothing was wrong with the monetary amount, but the waiter told us that if we pay with cash, we will get 10% off. WHAT?! So weird... He also didn't ask if we wanted to split the bill. It was a warm September day when The Fat Kid Avenger entered Noodle Street accompanied by a (very patient...damn you T, foiling my plans again!) friend. The staff, though perhaps unaware of her identity, seated The Fat Kid Avenger and friend quickly. Noodle Street did not yet want to reveal their plot to take down the Fat Kid Avenger. And then they both opened the menus. BAM!!! The Fat Kid Avenger was hit with more options than she knew what to do with!! So many choices! And each to be customized! The Fat Kid Avenger could feel the Noodle Street Menu overpowering her. But wait! The Fat Kid Avenger is well versed in Thai menus and had walked in with a craving. Wham! Smack! Easy!!! Orders were placed and the duo moved on to conversation while waiting on the meal to arrive. Crisis averted. Once the food arrived, The Fat Kid Avenger knew she had triumphed. The steaming bowl of flavorful broth was chock full of rice noodles and chunks of chicken. Her partner's basil fried rice almost took the best of him. Too hot he purported! But thankfully it ended up being only a singular pepper on the plate. With the meal completed and both satisfied, this was indeed a good day for The Fat Kid Avenger. Once overwhelming number of choices was conquered, the food was very good and reasonably priced. But wait? There's Tom Yum Pad Thai on the menu? Not a bad place to go to when you're in the BU area. The food came out quickly and was presented well. I ordered their shoyu ramen because I was feeling some soup. I liked it enough, the broth was good. The pork could have been more tender and the ramen a bit thicker, but it was still pretty good. My friend liked the broth too even though she's not much of a soup person. My friend ordered their basil chicken with white rice (4 times as spicy) but I honestly didn't think it was that spicy (and I'm a mild salsa at Chipotle kind of gal). read more

I don't have much to say about this place. It's a local Thai place with pretty good noodles. The prices are not cheap, but they're pretty fair. The service was likewise average. My only complaint would be that my food came out about 5 minutes after everyone else's at the table (which I hate, and which seems to be the theme of my Boston trip), and that when I paid extra for shrimp in my noodles they only put in three shrimps. I dislike this restaurant with a Thai chili pepper passion. Who would come here with Thai Dish, Nud Pob, and Brown Sugar blocks away? Don't be fooled, the noodle dishes are mediocre eats at Noodle Street--except for the Boat Trip (dry version). This is flavorful, zesty, and the fried garlic is a nice touch. I got the NS Gravy with Chopped Pork and Crispy Wide Noodle once, which was suppose to be a big hit. It was sitting on the counter for 10 minutes before the waiter brought it to me and the cook forgot the chopped pork! I've never been more irritated at a restaurant in Boston. A few of my friends like this place because they think it's healthier but come on, it's still Thai food--it's either drenched in peanut oil or flooded with coconut milk. Ordered the Drunken Noodles and Thai Milk Tea via Foodler. Delivery took approximately two hours, and when the guy finally showed up, my food was cold and the tea had apparently tipped over in the bag en route. Iced tea and condensed milk proceeded to leak all over the floor and my shoes. I asked him to take the bag back for a second, since I didn't want it to drip all over my apartment while I ran to get paper towels, but he just stared at me and did nothing. After an extremely uncomfortable silence, I just decided to thank him for his service and got my sister to help clean up the mess he left. Called the restaurant and they apologized, making an excuse along the lines of "Sorry that happened, but we're just really busy. Womp womp, better luck next time." Noodles were decent, but cold. Most expensive reheated meal I've ever eaten. Can't say much for the milk tea, though-- it had been emptied out on to my floor before I could taste it. read more

When I look back at my college years, Noodle Street will be the one restaurant that sticks out in my memory. I love this place. I'm a BU student, and I've been going here for three years. Some people might judge this place- saying "it's not real thai food!" I've never been to Thailand, but all I know is that it's delicious. My two favorite dishes are the Drunken Noodles and Roasted Chili Fried Rice. Not too expensive, either. Great for a quick meal on campus. I'll miss this place when i graduate! read more
