Got a suit while in down town San Diego and had it altered the way I thought it would fit best. Well I should have listened to the associate. The back of the suit was not fitting me right it was hanging more than it should have. Brought it into Nordstrom in TO the reps took care of my problem and did not charge me any extra. Even though it was my error not theirs. Not that is customer service. Sure we pay a little more but goes to show we got a lot more! thank you guys for your help this past weekend. We have our son's wedding coming up in September and I decided to go the Chanel counter to have a trial makeup session. Sheri was my Chanel consultant and she was beyond wonderful! She understood my "aging" skin and her expert application of makeup made me look not only radiant but also lasted through that evening's dinner, without reapplication! I will certainly be using Sheri to apply my makeup for the day of the wedding and I highly recommend her as your Chanel makeup consultant for women with all skin types! read more

Nordstrom goes way beyond the call of duty!!! They deserves 10 stars for the customer service I received. I live half the year in Mexico now and miss Nordstrom's, especially the cosmetics. All the great US brands are available in Mexico, at triple the price. You can't rely on mail and if something arrives, customs adds big fees or confiscates it. So I ordered some items during a May sale for my daughter to bring down here in early June. When she got to the T.O. store, my cosmetics rep wasn't there and no one could find my pre-purchased bag of cosmetics. She arrived in Mexico empty handed. I called the cosmetics and Beauty manager, Caryl, and she apologized, and she sent out everything to Mexico. Of course, customs stopped it in Guadalajara, and imposed a $1000 USD duty/fine on it, and we said "send it back". I called Caryl, who then overnighted it via UPS to my son in LA, who happened to be joining the family for a visit. Of course, UPS screwed up and the night before my son's flight, it hadn't been received. I was about to just ask for a refund. I called Caryl again, who happened to still be at Nordstrom's working. She jumped into action, got my son's address/phone number, took another bag of my precious cosmetics and some lovely samples , and DROVE the cosmetics to my son's house on a Friday night!!!! I have always expected ( and received) great customer service from Nordstrom but this Beauty Manager, Caryl, is the new gold standard! She deserves my vote for a promotion. I totally LOVE Nordstrom. The only reason I'm a loyal shopper is due to the consistent high quality customer service. Unfortunately, not all Nordstrom's customer service is all the same. The location at Thousand Oaks is HORRIBLE!!!!!! I can't express enough how rude the manager and sales associate in the designer handbag department was. I called in to check for a handbag and they were hesitant to search for the purse. At first, the sales associate brushed me off but I insisted to hold on the phone. I can tell she was annoyed with me by the tone of her voice. Moments later the manager Amy came on the phone. Originally I thought the sales associate was repulsively rude but Amy took the cake. Two peas in a pod. I tired to explain the situation to Amy but she wouldn't let me say an inch wise. She raised her voice as if she had the last word. Long story short...Thousand Oaks Nordstrom customer services is a disappointment. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I hope Nordstrom's corporate office will read this review and reevaluate those employees. They are an embarrassment to the company. This was NOT a pleasant experience. read more

From time to time I like to go into this location to see what kind of CS I will get if any and Nordstrom didn't fail me whatsoever!!! Two dudes talking as I walk by and not even an acknowledgement or hello and they clearly see me standing at the POS while the person ringing up someone is with another "client". I stand and I stand and not even a walk over to ask if I need any help in finding something. I end up walking out and in so doing so I tell the clerk that 2 men and not one came up to me; NOT COOL. I left and came back and I pulled the clerk aside to let her know how I felt and she tried defending one of them by saying he was busy with someone. Where was this someone at because several minutes had gone by and they stood and talked away as if I hadn't even entered the dept. Essentially I caught her in a lie and respect started to go out the door for this clerk and damnit she was very pretty too. The only courteous persons were MiMi upstairs in CS and the manager of the dept. that returned my call so I can say that I expected more from Nordstrom since it is their mantra to be "above the rest" or something to that effect. Peeps of color other than Caucasian I don't think they want your business, they'd rather dress up a good looking person of color so they can push their wears. The whole reason I went into this Nordstrom was to establish credit with the retailer and in the end they just didn't want my business. As for the star ratings up top...they get a big fat O!!! O star(s)!!!! Damnit unfortunately I cannot post unless I click on at least one star so this one star constitutes as a X or something I would rather save for the manager or even the staffer. read more

I went into Nordstrom's today looking for a cologne for my boyfriend. I was immediately greeted by a gentleman named Eric standing in the Jo Malone area. He showed me so many different options and we were able to narrow it down to one. He then started showing me more of the Jo Malone products that can be used for both men and women. Eric was so passionate and knowledgeable about the products he was offering that I became so intrigued. I ended up buying both my boyfriend and myself cologne. When I went to exchange them the associate in shoes and the manager had no idea that the shoes came in both fits or how to search them on their website. I honestly am getting really disappointed with this store. I used to shop here all the time and now I really only come in for kids shoes, khiel's, or when I need something that I can't find elsewhere. I have always known this store to have top notch customer service but in the last several years I have been really disappointed and it has effected how I shop. I love kids shoes because they are always really friendly and helpful. I buy all my kids shoes ( I now have 3 kids) from them because I know Nordstrom stands behind the products it's sells and the shoes have always been great. What hasn't been the team there has corrected and it's never a problem. What I frustrating is that for the longest time I find there is no acknowledgment or friendliness when you walk around from dept to dept. No one has treated or acknowledged me at all almost every time. 9 times out of 10 I have walked out of the shoe dept because no one has said a word to me. The last time someone said hello and asked if I needed help I bought Vince Camuto booties. But it's been awhile since I bought in that dept because I haven't gotten help, and if I have my double stroller( which most days I do) I def get no help. But my reason for posting is because I shopped the other week for an ugly Christmas sweater, a tie and a romper. I pre bought the ugly sweater online and picked up in store. I stopped at kids clothes on my way to pick up and grabbed two red ties. I asked the girl to hold the ties because I'd be right back (there was only 1 read bow tie left). I go to online pick up and get my sweater but I tell the girl to return it because I found a cheaper one at Macy's that was actually a better size for my son. The cashier here wasn't friendly...barely spoke to me, was leaving my signed credit slip on the counter and before I walked away I told her I wanted it put away and she said she would but had to input it first. When I left it was still just sitting on the counter. I won't but online and pick up in store again if that is the service they give. But when I walked right back to kids clothes the three associates there were gone and my ties were just sitting on the counter. I stood there and waited for someone for minutes and nothing. I tried going to cosmetics and no one said a word to me. I tried to pay at khiels's and I asked a woman putting things away if she could ring me and I got no response. I literally just wanted to pay and get back to work so I saw a man just walking around his product in (what I think was jo Malone) and he was incredibly friendly and apologetic for the others and sold me my tie. I was so frustrated at that moment cause he was the only nice person I found and helped me no problem. I honestly felt like I could have walked out of Nordstrom with the tie, without paying and no one would have stopped me or cared. It was really frustrating. Then the next day I go to buy a romper from upstairs. Super cute Vince camuto, a black romper. The girl was extremely nice and very helpful....when I was pausing and already knew I wanted the romper. What bugged me is I am still in between sizes after having a third baby last Christmas and no one was there in the dressing rooms. I couldn't get the zipper up or ask for another size to be brought in. But when I walked out of the fitting room, the girl was just standing at the register. If I didn't absolutely want that romper I wouldn't have bought it because I wasn't sure on the size. I had to take it home and have my husband zip it for me. Luckily it fit...barely...but it was sad there is no help in the dressing room. I can honestly say that I receive better customer service from American Eagle every time I go in there and I will continue to buy from them for jeans and t's. I am really disappointed with how the service has changed at Nordstrom and am writing this because I'm that frustrated now. read more

The men's section of Nordstrom's is amazing and that is why it's getting an okay rating. Every time I come with my boyfriend there's always someone there offering help. But then you go up to women's and they barely make eye contact with customers. I see a few people upstairs and no obese being helped and it took me three tries to get someone to help me and they have no knowledge of the clothes being sold. They can't help with measurements like they do in men's. And at one pint I couldn't get anybody to help me so I just walked into a dressing room to try on some clothes and they didn't notice until I had tried everything on to ask me if I needed a room. On top of it I tried to get help with some sizes while trying on clothes and nobody comes to check or offer help. I don't think I'll be coming here for clothes again. I was so disappointed with the women's section as far as help and customer service goes. read more

Poor customer service multiple times, multiple departments. I have been a loyal customer for years. You expect a certain level of courtesy and helpfulness. I was completely ignored in the salon shoes department for over 15 minutes. When i finally got an employee's attention, he acted as if he couldn't be bothered. I was looking for a specific shoe and he immediately said they didn't have it...didn't offer alternatives or offer to check other stores like other Nordstrom locations. Similar experience in tbd and savvy a week later. Don't waste your time with the limited selection and poor customer service--drive the extra half hour to Topanga, where they know how to treat their clients. read more

Nordstrom is my favorite store. I never had issues returning items here. I always purchase online and in the store. This day I went to the nordstrom here and want to return a coat that I purchased online. I tried to wear it a couple of times but I really didn't like it because the colar is too bulky and it is rubbing my neck. I asked the lady in the customer service that i want to return this coat. She told me it not necessary to go to customer service because the cashier can process returns. So I was about to go the cashier but she told me to just wait there and she calls somebody. I waited about 3 minutes then she arrives. She never say hi. She was talking to the lady that first I talked to and the lady told her that i want to return the coat. My paper bag was sitting on the counter. I was there standing and she grabbed the coat then she said, where's the tag? Where's the receipt. I told her i took the tag off coz i tried to wear it a couple of times but it didnt suits me and plus the collar is itchy etc. Then she said ohh this is worn, this is worn. No tag etc. how are we gonna resell this? I mean you know, who's gonna buy clothes that has been worn? And she has a rude look. Formal face. Then she said sorry we cannot accept this. But I did't like it. She said sorry. I said oh ok. So I guess I have to keep it and not use it. The reason why I want this store is because of the return policy. And the coat is not cheap! It is pretty expensive! Even in the website it is not stated that you cannot return items that were used. Or there's a time limit for return. When you click the return policy the only choices are how to return it. There's no conditions. Plus the items that they sell online there are some reviews there for items that people have worn items and they return some items. They didnt like it. I don't know why I had this issue returning this item. I never had one. Or maybe the lady that I talked to was in a bad mood or racist or tired. And she doen't want to process my return. I don't know but I'll try to return this in different store. Maybe that lady was in a bad mood or having a bad day. I will never go back in this store. read more

My friend and I came in to the shoe department a few days ago to try and find some boots for my friends moms birthday. It took a few minutes to grab someone to help us but then an associate named Mina came up. My friend asked her if there were any booties for $100 and Mina laughed and rolled her eyes and said maybe on sale but probably not. Both of us have dolce vita boots for under $100 and told that to her and she laughed at us saying they were definitely both on sale and all on sale shoes are much less quality than the full price shoes. Then we asked if there were any BP boots that were under $100, and if there were any junior/BP boots in size 11. She looked at us like we were idiots and said just because it's the junior section doesn't mean it's junior sizes and size 11 is normal size. Well on the end, we decided to go with one of the three booties that Mina recommended and the best part? They were on sale. Such rude customer service here! read more

After an hour of being ignored in the Macy's lingerie department, I got tired of rifling through the messy racks and finding nothing in my size. At Nordstrom, I was initially disheartened at the dearth of the lingerie section. Very soon after I arrived, a lovely Asian woman asked if she could help, and in less than a minute found a stack of fabulous bras in my size. Not inexpensive, to be sure, but my time is worth something too. Tip for the other anchor stores: many women in this area are - ahem - enhanced. Have been to B.S. many times and it is always enjoyable. My favorite thing about the food are the small portions. Maybe its a "girl thing" but most restaurants give us portions the size New Jersey. I'm guessing that Nordstrom wants us to fit into those $300 jeans they want to sell to us! Most recent visit had frisee salad with nutty parmesan triangles and pistachios and the parmesan arugula salad with (yeah) fresh,hot croutons.The scallops risotto is ever so succulent. Also the shrimp which was just ok. They accidently brought us the asparugus and mushrooms which has a "just right " light cheesey crusty sauce. I have had this dish before and was glad to be reminded of it. And of course did not charge for it. Our server suggested the Temparanillo which was not to my liking got the Zin which was smooth. The jewelry department, specifically watches department was AWFUL! I tried to return a Michael Kors watch that was broken and they wouldn't accept it. The manager there was obnoxious and unhelpful and lied to me about their return policy. I asked for their return policy in writing and she flat out lied about it. Avoid this department. I will never buy another watch from this Nordstroms - the sales reps were rude, unhelpful, and incompetent. I went to another Nordstroms and no questions asked, they returned my watch and let me exchange it. read more
