Fried Pickles were salty but the ranch was divine. Rhubarb and strawberry pie was tart. Brown gravy get it! Side dishes were excellent recommend mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and green beans. Chicken fried chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. Service and tea was excellent! It's one of the rare pie shops that still use a meringue on the top.

Loved Norma's!! You have to go here for breakfast if you are in the area. It is the cutest diner spot with the nicest staff AND amazing food! They have an extremely expansive menu and everything we ordered was amazing! They make in house biscuits and they were INCREDIBLE. You can seat yourself here and they have a variety of booths, tables, and countertop seating! Everything was super fresh and made to order. You can tell they are making everything from scratch and the vibe in here matched that! 10/10

Having a craving for a burger, and with my husband desiring chicken fried chicken, we decided to visit Norma's Cafe during our drive around town. We picked up our takeout order and enjoyed our meal at home. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the burger! I certainly did not anticipate it being so substantial. The meal was quite delicious, and the fries were also enjoyable. I would certainly recommend this establishment if you are seeking a generously sized burger. It was quite satisfying and eliminated the need for another meal for the remainder of the day. First impression not bad at all, keep up the great work!!

Super cute diner vibes. Ordered to go and was ready on time. Super delicious breakfast. Can't wait to come back

Ordered two orders of Chicken fried chicken and an extra side of gravy through DoorDash. The order came without gravy, not on the main dishes and neither did we receive the extra side of gravy. DoorDash offered a $4.00 credit on a $40 dollar offer. Completely unacceptable.

First time at this location. It was very busy however, we were able to sit right away. Service was a little slow to get our orders in but the food came out quite quickly. Place seemed a little dated. I know it's a an old establishment just saying, some upgrades would be nice. Food was okay, however, not much seasoning on anything. My eggs were cold and my husband's chicken fried steak was not as hot as it could have been. Overall, cool experience but will give another location a try. Prices, not too bad.

This is 1950's diner food. Fresh hot and delicious! The service is exceptional because the servers have worked here for years - which says a lot about the management. Booths have been reupholstered and make the dining feel somewhat new but the photos on the walls tell the history of this place. Everyone is welcome and will enjoy a great meal.

The place had a healthy crowd for that time of day, which is always a good sign. The layout is a casual mishmash of outdoor patios, indoor bars, and a mix of tables and high-tops. Located right across from the Kessler Theater, they clearly attract a steady stream of pre- and post-show guests. The overall vibe is a relaxed sports bar with a welcoming neighborhood feel. I went with the classic cheeseburger and swapped fries for onion strings. The burger was delicious, and the onion strings were a great choice, crispy, flavorful, and not overly greasy. Definitely give PHD's a try. I was impressed.

Pretty much everything is a win. On top of the food, ive realized that the bar feels kind of like home to me. Im not a drinker and dont frequent bars, but heres why. The gm is a sweetheart. He has the sweetest relationship with his staff and you can tell from the way they interact how close they all are. I love going in and recognizing the staff and getting hugs from them. What else is cool- they pack up meals for the homeless twice a month. I think it's connected with the owners church but still using the space for that is awesome. I have come a couple times and plan to keep coming back. Charles always asks me if i want a ginger ale bc he knows thats all I drink. I also love that a couple of my trivia friends have a special beer they like, charles tries to keep it on hand for them. He also knows thats i like to watch the wnba games and is starting to check for them before i get there for trivia on weds nights. All these things make me want to keep coming back.

We initially discovered the restaurant back in January when we dined there and immediately fell in love with the food, service, and atmosphere. That same night, we inquired about hosting a larger event (around 80 guests) and secured our April date with a deposit. From the very beginning, working with Jenna, the manager, was seamless. We communicated though text, which made planning easy and stress-free. Jenna curated a limited menu for our guests featuring popular dishes she personally recommended--chicken, beef, lamb, and vegetarian options--which made ordering simple while still offering great variety. She was also incredibly flexible with seating arrangements and accommodated exactly how I wanted guests placed. One detail I especially appreciated was her willingness to honor special requests--she arranged for a tres leches cake from a local bakery for dessert, which was a huge hit. On the day of the event, Jenna met me an hour early so I could set up extra decorations like flowers, a banner, and place cards. That extra time made a big difference and helped everything feel personal and organized. As guests arrived, we had them go directly to their assigned seats--which I highly recommend for a group this size, as it fills up quickly. The staff immediately began service with starters (hummus, salad, and bread), and they were quick to take both food and drink orders. Everything came out promptly, and the service throughout the evening was incredibly attentive and responsive. Every single guest had something positive to say about their meal and dessert, which says a lot when hosting a group this large. After dinner, the staff cleared tables efficiently, and we were able to enjoy the balcony space--an absolute highlight. It provided the perfect backdrop for photos with family, overlooking the Dallas skyline. At the end of the night, Jenna checked in with us to debrief, mentioning that the assigned seating helped her team provide faster, smoother service--which we definitely noticed. Not only did we have an amazing event, but we also felt like we built a genuine connection with her. She struck the perfect balance of being both professional and personable.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

The blue corn pancakes really came through! Different than both of my favorites at home, these hold their own against both. I came in for a solo Sunday brunch on the patio, the spot was buzzin'! I started with a mimosa and coffee, ordered the pancakes I'd intentionally driven here to try with a side of eggs and bacon. Very yummy! Service was great, I'll definitely be back to have these again. If these aren't the best pancakes in North Texas, please point me towards the ones that are.

The restaurant itself is very inviting with a great vibe. Our server was very attentive and answered all of our questions. We started with the Baked Brie, Mezze Platter, and the Mexican Seafood Cocktail. All of the items were well prepared and very tasty! The Focaccia that comes with the Brie could be a great item by itself and the Hummus on the Mezze platter was super tasty. We also had the Braised Short Rib which was very well prepared with a great sauce. The Pork Chop was one of the best I had with a fantastic seasoning. The Greens that come with it should be on the menu all on their own, they are that good! Encina is a great option for lunch or dinner! You definitely need to stop reading and get in here!
