Came to norms, you know the place that brags there they are indeed never closed and guess what? They were. Well, they were not as there were tables of other folks eating. So to get to the bottom of all of this. We were told in a very rude manner and zero eye contact or any sort of regard that they are closing due to cleaning. I just feel like it beats Denny's for some reason, but Country Fried Steak is my go-to and it never fails. Wait can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes on a busy night. Furthermore, I wrote the review for you to be aware. Frankly, you should conduct your own internal investigation. Having worked in Quality Assurance while in health insurance, you need to employ the use of secret shoppers/diners to gauge the quality and experiences of your customers. Relying on customer reviews here or as they pay their bills isnt always reliable. Restrooms are supposed to be checked hourly. Whether it was or wasn't, I have no idea. The fact my mom reported it was filthy was the 3rd red flag. The 1st red flag was the full handicapped parking outside when we pulled into the parking lot. This forced us to park further away. The 2nd was when the manager, did not take notice that my mom was stooped over, elderly, and walking with a cane. Upon being told we would like table seating versus a booth, he set off to find us a table, but was out of earshot before I could tell him their table seating was too far for my mom to walk. Your manager needs to be more visually aware of who his customers are and it might behoove your management to reconsider exactly who your clientele is - mostly elderly at the time we went ~3pm. Bottom Line: know your customer. I don't see a need to give you my contact info to discuss this privately. The best thing you can do is continue to improve your service and your food quality so that word of mouth increases business. Our meal was good! The bill came and was $19.15. When I gave him my eating out debit card (almost at it's limit), the receipt said $32! I questioned it and was told "you must have added to your order! We did not. The waitress came and realized she added someone else's add ons to our bill. She said she would cancel the $32 and then charge the $19.15 which I agreed to. She ran the same debit card but it was declined because it then was maxed out. The manager then asked for another form of payment which I didn't want to do so she said to sign both receipts and she would be sure the $32 was canceled and then charge the $19.15 amount tomorrow. I can't believe she said that. She tried to explain that because the banks are closed she had no other options. As someone in the customer service business the manager should have apologized and comped the meal. I am so disappointed in this store and company in general. We ended up waiting for about 15 min for a table (small waiting area) and were promptly served once we eventually were seated at a table. This norms is okay. Not the cleanest of places nor the best at preparing food. The crowd here is kind of noisy, they get a lot of Rowland Heights riff raff (I'm use to Claremont people). The customer service here isn't all that great either. The food was not very good and tasted like it needed more cooking time. I ordered tilapia, rice, and veggies and I was disappointed by the food. The fish was charred and tasted rubbery. While the veggies tasted like they needed more cooking time and they lacked salt. Let me start with the first thing I notice, the three people working the front were NOT wearing gloves. The cashier was taking money then pulling orders as they come out of the kitchen and bagging and handing over the orders to the customers. Norm's has been a family favorite for us since I was a little girl. You get a lot of food for a good price. We love to get the bigger better breakfast with french toast instead of the pancakes. That comes with 2 french toast or pancakes, 2 eggs any way, 4 bacon or sausage or ham mixture and a big side of hashbrowns. All that feeds a myself and my 2 little ones (ages 6 and 7). Bigger better breakfast, hot tea and a hot chocolate for the kiddos will run $12 for a sit down breakfast. Not bad for a Mama on a buget! This place is always super busy inside and out in the parking lot. Usually an older crowd that eats here. Noise level is as expected for a busy restaurant. From walking in the door, ordering and being served to the check can happen pretty quickly. For a party of 3, we were in and out within 45 mins. Christine M. was our server today. She was super friendly and speedy with service. The food was warm and she brought us extra plates without me even asking. She refilled our drinks and kept checking in on us with a smile.
