One of my favorite places! Homemade pizza crust is always delicious. They have a thin STL style and a hand tossed with mozzarella. Both are delicious. All soups and chili is homemade and delicious! Their happy hour specials are wonderful with both drink and food specials. The brisket egg rolls are to die for! Fish/shrimp specials on Friday during lent! Service is great! The patio has new fun furniture. This is a perfect spot for any time of day. They are closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly. read more

Haven't been to Nubbys in a while. Used to go weekly. Discovered they have taken German potato salad off the menu. I can get barbecue anywhere. The potato salad was the best thing on the menu. I won't be going back. Hasn't been the same since new ownership. Not as much brisket on the brisket Rueben. If you're going to stop serving an item take it off the menu. read more

We couldn't get a pie at Monte Bello Saturday so we headed to Nubby's. They were very busy and half of our order was lost/delayed. The room was pretty cold, even as far away from the door as we could get. I hadn't been there before and hadn't had that super thin pizza crust (1/2 thickness of IMO's with some cornmeal), which I did like. Unfortunately I just didn't care for the chorks appetizer. Burnt ends were good but 1/4 of the pieces were charred. Saw some bbq nachos that looked pretty good. I'll try those next time. Came in on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant was crowded and the parking lot was full. Upon entering we were surprised with how hot the dining room was. It almost seemed like they were relying on fans and not AC. Service was good and the burgers and brisket egg rolls were tasty. Asparagus was lacking and the burnt ends were terrible. They had good flavor, but were so dry it could've been beef jerky. I'd come back on cooler days, but will stay away from the BBQ. read more

Went for lunch. First visit was right after this location opened. So we thought we would go check it out again. WOW! Even better than our first visit! First time I went, I got the thin crust Nubber pizza. I'm not usually a fan of most thin crust pizza, but the crust was sturdy, crispy, and flaky in all the best ways possible. I don't know how else to describe it. The second time I went, I got a thick crust pizza but I can't remember the name of it. This was one of the first times I liked the thin crust pizza more than the thick crust. The pizza was brick oven cooked which is a massive plus, but the toppings were sliding off every time I tried to eat it. I also got some pulled pork and it was good, but nothing too special. Arrived in town after paddling down the Mississippi River and was taken here for a dinner. The decor is simple and the menu is a little off from standard BBQ. There is an asian aspect thrown into the menu with items like the crab Rangoon or the asian rib appetizer. You go to the counter to order and then to you seats where it is delivered. The food was decent, it is of a good proportion and will fill you up but it was not over the top where I want to continue to come back for more. They do have a full bar but it's to one side of the restaurant and dining is to the other. It just sort of felt clunky is the way I'd describe it. Can't believe no one has reviewed Nubby's yet. I think it's been open for like a month! At any rate I stopped in on a Tuesday for an early dinner. I ordered the Nubby's Texas Burnt Ends (6oz) with tater tots and brown sugar carrots. You order and pay at the counter and then choose a seat. They bring the food out to you. There is a beautiful fully stocked bar on the other side of the restaurant and it appeared as if the bartender would also take your order and wait on you if you wanted to drink. When I ordered I asked about BBQ sauce and was told the meat already comes sauced and there is only 1 kind of sauce. I decided to go with the flow. The food came out pretty quickly and I appreciate that they offer the options of freshly cooked side dishes like the tater tots, French fries, etc. There's no BBQ sauce on the table. My first thought was this is because of covid but it's not because there was ketchup and mustard on the table. I did not care for the brown sugar carrots. They were very sweet, did not taste like brown sugar, and were lukewarm at best. I loved the tater tots but I've never met a tater tot I didn't like! The burnt ends were very well cooked. The meat was butchered perfectly and there was just the right amount of the fat cap left on the point to tenderize the meat. There was a nice bark on what seemed like all the surface area of the meat and a nice little pink smoke ring. Two things I did not like was the meat ate very salty and smoky sweet. The sauce that came on it was your basic sweet and smoky style sauce. It was cloyingly sweet and I think I tasted some liquid smoke which I do not care for. The meat was incredibly tender and moist though. It was impossible to tell if the salt was coming from the sauce or the meat itself. My preference would be to receive the meat dry and decide for myself how much sauce I wanted on it. Also, I like a spicy savory sauce and nothing like that was available here. This is not anywhere near my neighborhood but I'll certainly be back. My guess is that someone here knows their way around a smoker! read more

We had Nubbys for lunch today. We tried the chili, club sandwich and house salad with both their sweet onion dressing and ranch dressing (one of each). Everything was so delicious. The chili is really meat forward so next time I'll go with a cup because for me that will be enough. The club sandwich is outstanding. The salad is so fresh and both house made dressings were delicious. The interior is really cute and the young lady at the counter (our order was to go) couldn't have been sweeter or more professional. We'll definitely be back. read more

Great place in South County! Started with Smoked Wings, nice flavor and a good crust! I had the ribs which had a great smoke flavor and very tender, nice bark and still a bit of chew to them very nice! For sides I had baked beans was a good blend of Black, Red and Lima beans with a flavorful sauce. Also had German Potato salad, good taste and served warm like it should be, growing up with a German Grandma I think she would approve! HAHA! My wife had a Turkey & Bacon Sandwich which had 2 fat slices of smoked turkey, bacon and melted cheese, turkey was moist and tasty but got my hand slapped after a small Taste! She had a side salad, nice size and all fresh ingredients!!! We will definitely go back! The owner Matt was busy in the kitchen but made time to come out and thank us for coming in! Delicious meal. Was happy to find a place that serves Texas Burnt ends and did them well. The Chorks are a MUST, they only serve 6 and not the 8 it says on the menu. Waited 45 minutes before asking how much longer our order was going to be only to hear that it would be another 40 minutes before it would be ready. About halfway through this wait a manager asked us if we'd been served yet and told us she would check on our food but never returned to our table. There were 3 kitchen staff that sat in the same spots in the kitchen, not prepping food, for our entire stay. Not your typical Wednesday afternoon. I called up to Nubby's to tell them I was bringing in a party of 8 at 2:30pm. We showed up and our table was set. Our order was taken very proficiently! We were all telling our server Cassidy our orders at the same time. Not ONE prefer was messed up. Our drinks were refilled as soon as they were empty. Cassidy is the best server/bartender in our area. The food was fantastic. Our guests from New Jersey raved about everything. Stan made some amazing calzones!! I only wish I took pictures. Pulled pork Sandwich was delicious. Sides - green beans and brown sugar carrots needed to be cooked more. I like al-dente but mine were more raw. Also needed some brown sugar on the carrots. I tasted my friend's grilled asparagus and broccoli- both of them were fabulous!!! So I know what to get next time! BBQ sauce on pork was great but the beans had smoky flavor added to them which I happen to absolutely hate. Meat is fabulous but sides need help. I guess when at a BBQ place it's best to stick with what they do best. I ordered a $12 hamburger that was just so so. The bun was terrible. Had a funny smell, texture and taste. So I basically ate just the plain patty with some mustard. The others got pizza which they liked but I thought the pizza sauce was too sweet. Great food. Really like this place. Little pricey but it's comparable to similar places AND they gotta make a profit after all the bills are paid. Pizza is STL style and very tasty....all ingredients are fresh. Crust is the best here. I've had similar STL style pizza at other pizza joints but the crust wouldn't be good. BBQ is solid. Good smoke flavor, tender and moist. BBQ sauce is a KC style which is what I dig...they could add a bit more heat and leave out the cumin. Sides are also solid esp the mac n cheese. Favorites though is the pizza, ribs and apps. read more
