I was driving back home to Los Angeles and wanted to test out another red curry. Whenever traveling I seek out Thai restaurants because I love red curry so much...I've done so many times and on five continents. So I should know red curry by now. Yelp told me this was the place to eat. What I had at this place ranks among the very best I've had. The three areas where a red curry can suffer were nicely taken care of: The vegetables were cooked perfectly, the sauce was succulent with just the right amount of heat, and the portion was large. Some places skimp on the quality of the coconut milk but not here. I had a Thai ice tea and that was excellent, as well. I would have liked a brown rice but they had only white and fried rice. Was lucky enough to stumble across this little place while traveling to Bakersfield for business. I adore Thai food for its freshness and flavors. I have many go-to's in the Bay Area and this place is really good. The shrimp tempura was light and crispy without any hint of grease or oil. The Shrimp Wonton Soup was very good as well. Plump and tasty wontons with fresh mid-sized shrimp and a flavorful broth with fresh herbs, ginger, garlic and I think lemongrass. Very tasty and satisfying in a chilly night. I left stuffed because I ate every bite. Service was fast and friendly. Environment was cozy but a little old and dark feeling. But service and food made up for that easily. I went with my friend to this place last Sunday evening. Our server was very friendly and, because we knew there was a server/food service worker shortage, we stayed patient and enjoyed our conversation while the food was being prepared. The server, who I think was also the owner, was very apologetic even though I didn't think it was too much of a long wait. He gave us a complimentary Thai drink for our trouble. Great food, prices, and service! I called in an order to be picked up, fresh spring rolls, pad see ew, and drunken noodles both with combination beef and shrimp. On the phone I was told that my order would be ready in 15 minutes and I live about a stones throw away, so when I left 10 minutes later and arrived my food was hot and ready to go! Didn't interact long with the employees or owner, but they were friendly enough and got me checked out fast. I went in on a Saturday night and found the place busy but not unreasonably packed. They definitely seem to be a local hot spot for good Thai food. The food we had was really good, and the peanut sauce that came with the spring roll was absolutely delicious. The prices were decent, the portions are good, and the produce is fresh, which makes a big difference in SE Asian cuisine. I've had their food twice since I've moved to Bakersfield. Their food quality and taste is great but the portions on today's order for both mongolian beef and pad thai are very small. Honestly, barely enough for one person. Not sure if I will go back. Might try few others places in town. read more

I've come here twice and oh my goodness, their chicken pad Thai is amazing. I've had pad Thai at different Thai restaurants and this one is by far my favorite. Today we had their shrimp rolls for appetizer and they were so good. We then had their pork fried rice and chicken pad Thai. Delicious just like the last time. Also, the staff is very personable. We are originally from LA and we have tried several Thai food places here in Bak and haven't liked them because the soup was not the same as Ocha in LA. Well look no further -- the seafood soup is AMAZINGGGGG just like the original OCHA in LA. NO basil added to make it sweet/weird tasting. Sam our waiter/owner made us feel so welcomed in his restaurant and the food was pretty up my standards.
