Half soy garlic/crispy
Susan N.

Very fresh, very crispy fried chicken wings. A plethora of side dish selections and kimbap options. So many banh chan! Sesame spinach, roe side dish, kim chi, bean sprouts, radish, cucumber, chives, and more. Clean store and nice welcoming staff. No tables to dine like they previous had years ago. It's a stop and pick up shop. So many good quick options and lunch boxes to choose. Will be coming back to chekc out other items!!

Oh Mama Kitchen is a small catering and to-go spot offering a wide variety of Korean soul foods, such as 전, 김밥, 만두, and assorted side dishes perfect for busy people looking for comforting, home-style meals. Tucked into a modest retail space, it happens to be one of my sister's favorite places. They prepare many delicious dishes in ready-to-go boxes, making it easy and convenient to enjoy authentic Korean flavors. It's easy to see why this place is quickly gaining popularity.

tteobokki

- first timer - ordered the odeng $4, for tteobokki $6 (counter), and spam kimchi $7 (counter) - no tax - odeng - i liked it a lot. it after eating at so many places, i noticed it's more homemade making the soup more enjoyable and delicious. they have about 4 fish cake slices - tteobokki - not too spicy nor sweet. i like the thick sauce and the flavor is really good that makes you want to keep eating. - spam kimchi - really refreshing snack! crunchy and sesame oil is not overpowering i saw some reviews about the cashier employee being rude. although we didn't get that feeling from her, she wasn't customer service nice (like smiling or welcoming) but i think she just was expressing she needed to do her job. would return and try other things!

WE PAID FOR THE DONKATSU AND WE NEVER GOT IT. WHEN WE CALLED THEM THEY ARE LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THE BAG

Horrible customer service. We paid for our food and we never got the Dongaseu. They are like we should have checked the bag before you have left!

I found this place searching for Korean food around the area. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the selections of banchans they had. Foods I've tried: - Spam kimbap - Beansprouts & Spinach - Spicy fishcakes - Crab cakes - Wild grain purple rice Overall, everything was tasty. I want to try their fishcake soup and tteokbokki next time I go! Cashier was nice and asked if I needed help with anything. The total at the end does add up quickly if you don't look at the prices!

Great grab and go Korean food spot Tucked in a little shopping center. They have everything here from kimbaps to duboki to a variety of banchans You walk in and you see all the workers making and packing everything at hand. I'm so glad there was a worker here that spoke English. And explained what everything was. Overall highly recommend if you're in the area

I will say the service is pretty slow, I'd keep that in mind especially if you're looking for a quick meal. I will say there's about 1.5 people working the front with 12 tables, so it would probably have been better if they had 2 people dedicated to the front. Both soups were good! The menu was a little difficult to tell what the difference between the options were. I wasn't sure what really went into the premium gomtang aside from the fact that it was a combo of meats. I will say that mine was very tendon heavy, so if that's not your preference, I'd lean away from the premium gomtang. My partner liked his yukgaejang. The banchan was good, but I did feel like the kimchi was purposefully on the saltier side as to complement the gomtang. Overall, solid place and would return.

We were craving Korean food, searched Yelp and this popped up. What a fantastic find. Servings are generous and we ate left-overs the next day and it still tasted great! The lady owner was the only server/busser on a busy Sunday and she hustled back & forth. Highly recommended!

The complimentary salad was good and had just the right amount of dressing. I wish I could have a bit more. Beer was very nice and frosty. Service was friendly. We came here needing a quick Korean fried chicken fix. My thing is to always to compare to…read moresomething that I liked. So my base is K.bbq Chicken. I walked in and noticed they do have limited tables. I wouldn't say this is a big group kind of place. Luckily for us, we were a party of 4. I looked at the menu over and over and couldn't really decide what to order. I had the dilemma of trying to feed my kids. So of course something not spicy and some carbs. I ordered the fries and honestly they were a miss. I didn't like that dirty oil flavor on it. I also did the cheese balls expecting some cheese full, but that again was a little mochi like in texture with no cheese pulls and dusted with a sweet cheese powder. It's an acquired taste. Those are some of the ehhh dishes. However the star of the show were the boneless chicken. We did their ddeok bokki mala flavor. Dang, that thing hits! It's very spicy, but in a good strong salty and spicy flavoring. It's also not too runny like other ddeok bokki's I've had in the past. I was thoroughly surprised by that dish. Now back to the boneless chicken, just be extra careful on your first bite. It's oozing with juices and piping hot. I had to open a few ahead of time to peel the meat for my children. They loved it. Now, pro tip, I would order the original again and order a side of the flaming sauce. That was super sweet and spicy. The perfect compliment to the crunchy texture. I also ordered a side of the boned in wings and had the soy spicy flavor. That was really tasty. I would order beer next time bc these flavors were bold and needed a cold beer to cool down the heat. Now, the thing that impressed me the most were the crunch on every single piece of chicken. They are by far one of the most inquire flavors and texture combination I tried. One thing, that made me say, hey I'll come back here again, was their workers. My son accidentally dropped the fork and like a few parents, we would just pick it up and wipe it off and use it again. I know, not everyone will do that. If you have a toddler they can drop that fork like 4 times sometimes. Anyways, the waiter noticed that and quickly brought us a clean new fork. That's some fine dining detail that I have never experienced in a small restaurant before. Kudos for the wait staff on that. One item for improvement is to offer some carb options like rice or noodles. I know it's more bar or finger food, but can't really serve Asian food without rice.

I heard that the owner makes everything in-house, and you can really tell how much care and skill go into the food. The staff are also incredibly kind and welcoming every time I visit. Galbitang (Beef Short Rib Soup) - This is honestly the best galbitang I've had in both OC and LA. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the beef is always fresh and tender. Whenever I'm craving galbitang in the OC/LA area, this is the only place I go. Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) - The amount of ingredients they give you is amazing. I've had it both dining in and as takeout, and it's consistently delicious every single time. It's perfectly seasoned, and has just the right level of spice. As much as I love the galbitang, I think I actually enjoy the yukgaejang even more. Pork Cutlet (Donkatsu) - This place is known for its galbitang and seolleongtang, so I wasn't expecting much from the donkatsu... but why is it this good? The cabbage salad dressing that comes on the side is seriously addictive. The portion size is huge, there's no way I could finish it by myself. It has the crispy texture of Japanese katsu, while still having a great pork flavor of its own. I honestly think this could be considered one of their signature dishes. If you're looking for authentic Korean comfort food with generous portions and warm service, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I'll definitely keep coming back!

Juk is known for its creamy texture, nutrient density, and the thoughtful use of ingredients, and Bonjuk delivers exactly that experience. Bonjuk offers an impressive range of classic juk varieties, including samgyejuk (ginseng chicken porridge), jeonbokjuk (abalone porridge), hobakjuk (pumpkin porridge), and patjuk (red bean porridge). Their menu also includes beef vegetable, beef mushroom, beef seaweed, tuna vegetable, salmon vegetable, seafood, shrimp, octopus kimchi, oyster mushroom, vegetable, and plain rice porridges. Prices range from $15.95 to $29.95, depending on ingredients. Each juk order comes with complimentary sides: dongchimi (water kimchi), soy-braised beef, spicy squid, and kimchi. Every side dish is delicious, and additional portions are available for just $2 each, which is a great value. For to-go orders, the juk is packed in a tightly sealed plastic container, accompanied by the side dishes, plastic spoons, and chopsticks--secure, clean, and thoughtfully prepared. I ordered the four most popular juk options to-go: samgyejuk, jeonbokjuk, hobakjuk, and patjuk. There was a small mix-up, and I received two patjuks instead of the hobakjuk. I was initially disappointed, but that feeling quickly faded. The patjuk was perfectly prepared--thick, creamy, silky smooth, earthy, and mildly sweet. My family had no trouble enjoying a second serving. All three juk varieties we tried were excellent. The homemade broths used in most of the porridges deliver a deep, savory umami flavor, and each bowl is consistently thick, creamy, and deeply comforting. Many Koreans still believe in juk's nutritional and medicinal benefits, particularly for soothing the digestive system and balancing Qi energy--and after trying the porridges here, it is easy to understand why. I highly recommend Bonjuk for anyone seeking authentic Korean porridge. Juk has deep cultural roots in Korea and symbolizes care, healing, and nourishment, and Bonjuk honors that tradition beautifully. This location is inside the Super1 Hannam Chain market. Service is friendly, and the restaurant is very clean and well-maintained.

The interior has a typical K-town vibe -- nothing particularly memorable-- but they do offer aprons because I really don't like getting stains on my shirts. We ordered the 감자탕 (spicy pork spine stew). It was solid and satisfying, but nothing that really stood out. One downside was the portion size -- it was listed as serving three, but with four of us, it felt a bit lacking, so we ended up adding extra meat. Like most Korean stew spots, they offer fried rice made with the leftover broth, and honestly, that ended up being the highlight. The rice had a great texture and was well-seasoned, easily more memorable than the stew itself. Overall, it's a decent spot if you're craving 감자탕, but the fried rice is what I'd actually come back for.
