Garlic soy wings. Make sure to call in 15-20 min before!

Oh Mama deserves an updated review! Not sure if it's because Super Bowl Sunday is coming up but I've been a little hyper fixated on chicken wings. If someone were to ask me what surprisingly delicious chicken wings would you find at a place that's primarily known for other fantastic side dishes, it would definitely be from Oh Mama. Get their garlic soy wings. You're welcome. I wish I was a better photographer but this photo doesn't do it justice!

Very fresh, very crispy fried chicken wings. A plethora of side dish selections and kimbap options. So many banh chan! Sesame spinach, roe side dish, kim chi, bean sprouts, radish, cucumber, chives, and more. Clean store and nice welcoming staff. No tables to dine like they previous had years ago. It's a stop and pick up shop. So many good quick options and lunch boxes to choose. Will be coming back to chekc out other items!!

Oh Mama Kitchen is a small catering and to-go spot offering a wide variety of Korean soul foods, such as 전, 김밥, 만두, and assorted side dishes perfect for busy people looking for comforting, home-style meals. Tucked into a modest retail space, it happens to be one of my sister's favorite places. They prepare many delicious dishes in ready-to-go boxes, making it easy and convenient to enjoy authentic Korean flavors. It's easy to see why this place is quickly gaining popularity.

    - first timer - ordered the odeng $4, for tteobokki $6 (counter), and spam kimchi $7 (counter) - no tax - odeng - i liked it a lot. it after eating at so many places, i noticed it's more homemade making the soup more enjoyable and delicious. they have about 4 fish cake slices - tteobokki - not too spicy nor sweet. i like the thick sauce and the flavor is really good that makes you want to keep eating. - spam kimchi - really refreshing snack! crunchy and sesame oil is not overpowering i saw some reviews about the cashier employee being rude. although we didn't get that feeling from her, she wasn't customer service nice (like smiling or welcoming) but i think she just was expressing she needed to do her job. would return and try other things!

Horrible customer service. We paid for our food and we never got the Dongaseu. They are like we should have checked the bag before you have left!

The short ribs came out first, but on the way out of the kitchen, the server dropped onto the floor. Me and my son watched as she picked it up, took them back inside, rinsed them off with water, and then ate the meat. We waited, assuming there would be some kind of explanation or apology, but she didn't said a word. About halfway through the meal, the squid and kimchi pancake finally arrived. Since it took so long to come out, we asked why it was taking so much time. She explained that it was taking longer because the main kitchen staff had the day off today, which We were understanding of. Then, just as we were finishing our meal, she brought out the grilled fish. We was upset throughout the entire meal today, but we didn't say anything to the staff and even left a 15% tip before leaving. We kept waiting for her to say something about it, but since she never did, I eventually asked the server, "Didn't you drop the meat?" She immediately tried to justify it by saying, "Oh, that? There barely was any meat left on those bones anyway." We just replied, "Ah, is that so?" and left it at that. It really felt like the staff didn't know what they were doing.

We came here needing a quick Korean fried chicken fix. My thing is to always to compare to…read moresomething that I liked. So my base is K.bbq Chicken. I walked in and noticed they do have limited tables. I wouldn't say this is a big group kind of place. Luckily for us, we were a party of 4. I looked at the menu over and over and couldn't really decide what to order. I had the dilemma of trying to feed my kids. So of course something not spicy and some carbs. I ordered the fries and honestly they were a miss. I didn't like that dirty oil flavor on it. I also did the cheese balls expecting some cheese full, but that again was a little mochi like in texture with no cheese pulls and dusted with a sweet cheese powder. It's an acquired taste. Those are some of the ehhh dishes. However the star of the show were the boneless chicken. We did their ddeok bokki mala flavor. Dang, that thing hits! It's very spicy, but in a good strong salty and spicy flavoring. It's also not too runny like other ddeok bokki's I've had in the past. I was thoroughly surprised by that dish. Now back to the boneless chicken, just be extra careful on your first bite. It's oozing with juices and piping hot. I had to open a few ahead of time to peel the meat for my children. They loved it. Now, pro tip, I would order the original again and order a side of the flaming sauce. That was super sweet and spicy. The perfect compliment to the crunchy texture. I also ordered a side of the boned in wings and had the soy spicy flavor. That was really tasty. I would order beer next time bc these flavors were bold and needed a cold beer to cool down the heat. Now, the thing that impressed me the most were the crunch on every single piece of chicken. They are by far one of the most inquire flavors and texture combination I tried. One thing, that made me say, hey I'll come back here again, was their workers. My son accidentally dropped the fork and like a few parents, we would just pick it up and wipe it off and use it again. I know, not everyone will do that. If you have a toddler they can drop that fork like 4 times sometimes. Anyways, the waiter noticed that and quickly brought us a clean new fork. That's some fine dining detail that I have never experienced in a small restaurant before. Kudos for the wait staff on that. One item for improvement is to offer some carb options like rice or noodles. I know it's more bar or finger food, but can't really serve Asian food without rice.

It looks like they are under new management per the sign, so they are still getting their foot down-- as they had several tables that needed cleaning up when we entered. However, it was near the end of the evening, so that may explain they had a dinner rush and were catching up. The customer service here was immaculate. I wish we got our server's name but he anticipated our needs and requests before we expressed them-- from refilling our banchan, tea, to letting us know how we can eat a dish we were having for the first time-- he was seriously reading my mind! I never mentioned that I've never had the braised black cod dish before but it was exactly what I was coming in to order! Shout out to our server! Also, it was sooo good, I am still thinking about it 2 weeks later. The cod just melted in our mouths! There wasn't any fishy tastes. It wasn't too salty or sweet. The texture of the daikon on the bottom was perfect-- not too soft, not hard or fibrous. The banchan was also so good! Kimchi was very fresh and I loved the how savory it tasted while still tasting fresh! The onions, seaweed, and beansprouts really complimented the very savory gochujang sauce in the dish. 5/5 would totally recommend if you are in the area! I'm excited to come back to try other dishes!

It had the comforting, authentic Korean flavor that makes Gamjatang such a satisfying dish.
