I decided to try this place because I did a Uber Eats pick up here and thought hmm this place looks interesting. I ended up coming back later in the night 9pm an hour before close Saturday 11-26-2022. I ordered the regular classic combo and garlic knots. While I waited, an older Asian lady came in for her food delivery pick up. She clearly did not speak English very well. Luckily the the girls working were nice to her but as this was going on another employee name Nick was dealing with another food delivery issue. This Asian lady thought he was talking about her pick up so she was trying to understand and was trying to talk to him but Nick over here decided to shush her while continuously giving her the "zip it" hand gesture over and over. It was insanely rude to where every other customer noticed and looked at him. When she finally got her pick up she said thank you had a good day to everyone and all the girls greeted her and said thank you as well and she turned to Nick to say thank you and bye and he just turned the cheek and ignored her. I was so upset at how rude he was. When I got my food I thought to myself man I hope I don't ever deal with that guy and this food better be worth the 40 minutes I waited. Got the food went home ate the pizza and it was ok. Garlic knots were ok as well. It didn't taste super flavorful. Other than the place looking cool, I wasn't happy with the over all experience and spending 30 bucks for a 14" pizza and garlic knots. I was very disappointed. The calzone I ordered only had four peperino's. I guess it was .25 a piece. I paid a extra dollar for it. The ingredients were not very fresh. The size was good. My family and I have been a huge fan of Old School Pizzeria ever since they had moved into the Mountain's Edge area. Besides the pizza always being absolutely delicious, the customer service has always been wonderful. My recent experience with them has been nothing short of extraordinary as I was seeking a place to cater my daughter's birthday party. I sent in a web inquiry but also drove over there to just place the order for an 11 am delivery on a Saturday AM. I was politely told by the staff that they open right at 11 am and they don't deliver so I left and was preparing to find a different place until the catering manager Chris reached out to me from my web inquiry and changed everything. He offered to come in early and deliver the order himself, and helped me figure out the right amount of pizzas, and even was so patient with me after I changed my order size a few days before after getting more RSVPs. I truly can not even explain how impeccable Chris' customer service skills are. He absolutely went above and beyond to exceed all of my expectations. I can confidently say he is a huge asset to Old School Pizza. Upon delivery, Chris bought plenty of marscapone sauce, plates, napkins and red pepper. I first had Old School Pizzeria from their location on E. Craig, totally out of my way but so worth the drive. The crust is an amazing naturally leavened dough that takes fives days to make. And on the Fifth Day, the pizza gods at Old School make an absolutely delicious crust with crispy edges that emerges from the oven puffy from all that slow fermentation! There is a slightly pliable chewiness that supports the delightful and carefully crafted toppings. I am so excited that the Mountains Edge community, in the deep Southwest part of town, has yet another culinary gem. I am a sucker for any pizza with dollops of Ricotta as a topping choice! I really want to love this place. The inside seating was very cute and hip. Loved the music and service. It just wasn't very good. The pizza was OK, I will do the pizza again. But the garlic knots were burnt and just not the gooey garlic, buttery deliciousness you would expect. I might try it again just to see if it improves. The apricot pizza is amazing, the rest not so much. The pizza is usually soggy on the bottom. My dressing for my salad was half full so didn't have enough to cover all my salad. Also I went In for a pick up and everyone let me stand around for a min before asking if I needed help. There's like 3 kids folding boxes backs turned. The young girl at the register was rolling her eyes the whole time, must have been mad at something but she's taking it out on customers and not doing her job. She was asked by another if my order was ready she pressed some buttons and didn't say anything. So I waited more till someone helped. And this nice young man finally asked me if I had a pick up and got my order while the young women with fake eyelashes continued to have tons of attitude and NOT do anything. read more

Tried this new pizzeria a few weeks ago. We ordered takeout. One pizza, one salad. The wait was loooooong. 50+ minutes. Several people complaining...they all received something "extra" to appease them. I waited longer but didn't complain so I wasn't rewarded. Giving the whiny, tantrum throwing customers what they want is an industry standard. I get it. I do it at my job everyday. But I also make sure I recognize that quiet customer that doesn't complain but has every reason to, and make sure they feel extra appreciated. Why only reward bad behavior? Because making a scene, yelling and disturbing others who are eating a meal IS bad behavior. Just something to consider in the future. So that long wait was a bummer. But I was even more bummed when I got home and saw that I didn't get the salad I ordered. I ordered antipasto--my husband doesn't like traditional leafy salad. But he loves a salad with ham, salami, cheese and he loves chickpeas! Sadly, we didn't get any of that. Just some lettuce a few tomatoes & a lot of very overpowering onions. Pizza is our most favorite food. I want to convey how much we love pizza. We are childless 40something year olds that have decided to spend all our money on our dog, pizza, music concerts & road trips. I am Sicilian. And the best pizza I ever had was the square one my nonna made inside her tiny apartment right in the middle of Little Italy in downtown San Diego. There are only a couple places here in Vegas that we trust for high quality, delicious, authentic pizza; Metro Pizza--they make a square Brooklyn style pizza (almost like my nonna's!), Cuginos--Italian deli extraordinaire, Landini's (we used to eat there as teenagers in downtown San Diego). We also used to really enjoy Naked City Pizza, but they proved to be too inconsistent for us. Everyone loves that Pizza Rock and I'll tell you what--I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life almost a decade ago and never went back. And I never will! I'm Sicilian--I know how to hold a grudge! So will OSP make it into our pizza establishment rotation? The answer is HELL YEA! Our meatball & ricotta pizza was freaking amazing! The dough is definitely special. It's unique, with a great bite, perfect chew, and the flavor will compliment any toppings. This is a dough you are not going find anywhere else. And it makes the perfect foundation for deliciously authentic pizza. The sauce was light & bright with a fresh & lively essence. You can taste Sicily. Not heavy. Not dense. The sauce isn't there to be bold or hearty. It's just there to whisper and make all the flavors come alive. We chose meatballs & fluffy ricotta cheese as our toppings. The house made meatballs were packed with flavor and they make a delicious addition to any pizza. What's better than fluffy clouds of creamy dreamy ricotta? Nothing! I want my last meal to be a bucket of ricotta & a spoon! Speaking of ricotta, we also ordered a cannoli. I was excited when I saw the cannoli was capped with pistachios at each end. It's something you don't see much of anymore. Usually it's chocolate chips. The cannoli was delicious, made with real ricotta cheese (of course) and not phony mascarpone. The shell was crispy and light with a dark color from the rich cocoa. But, sadly, no pistachios. All in all this is a fantastic addition to the mountains edge neighborhood and I guarantee people from all over the southwest and beyond will be coming for this authentic amazing food & fun atmosphere! While waiting I overheard a lot of diners praising the sauces...ranch in particular...can't wait to try that. Wish it had been offered to me as a takeout guest. I had to deduct 1 star for the salad fiasco and the missing pistachios on my cannoli. I almost deducted 2 stars when I factored in the long wait but my husband talked me out of it! read more

So the Mason jars of lemonade and Ice tea are great but the food here....BIG THUMBS DOWN. first time we ordered the pizza was really salty. I mean my tongue was salt numb where everything tasted like salt for awhile after we ate. So we figured maybe it was because they were new and maybe working out the kinks. We ordered a second time And I even put a note please don't salt the crust. Our pizza was like licking a salt rock. We couldn't stomach it. We called and told the Manager. He refunded my card. I tossed the food. Over all he didn't seem so concerned that the notes were ignored. The fact is ignoring modifiers can be dangerous. There are people with food allergies and sensitivities that can be affected when cooks don't read notes. Need to look out for their customers more. I get it. The people that work there don't care. They don't make enough money to care I see it all the time. They aren't eating it so why should they worry? This was one of my favorite pizza restaurants in the area but unfortunately the quality of food has decompensated. Last week I placed a take out order and spent $75.00. The pizza was over cooked and the two salads were extremely brown, soggy not edible and had to be thrown out. The calzone was very good. This is the 2nd poor experience in the past couple of weeks. Old School Pizzeria is amazing! It's super clean and inviting. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Right off the bat one of my favorite things is that they offer ,even encourage, splitting the pizza into two different flavors. We got the Gio's Salad which was really good but because I don't love fennel it wasn't the best. I personally would cut the fennel by half besides that it was a great salad. The staff gave us complementary garlic knots as the pizza took a bit longer than anticipated which magnified the excellent service. We also got a 14 inch pizza half Apricot/half Vegas Meets Italy. Both were amazing and more than enough for two people. The flavors were powerful and perfect blends. The crust is super thin but durable. It really was perfect! I'm a longtime customer of Old School Pizza, literally for years now. It's always been great! Last night was different. The pizza was awful, literally 14" of soggy disappointment. The only crispness to the crust was around the edges. Not sure what caused this since their crust is usually perfect. Perhaps it was the fact that it likely sat around awhile before it was served since another table arriving after me got their pizza first. Weird, it was soggy like it sat in a pool of water after leaving the oven. It was lacking in flavor, too. None of the amazing crust flavor that usually sets their pizza apart. A cheese pizza should be easy to get right. Not so, I guess. Service? What service? While ordering, I mentioned I wanted the pizza for dine-in and a salad to go for my wife. What was weird was that the guy ringing me up stopped halfway through the transaction to answer the phone just as I was preparing to pay, and answered many questions about the menu as I stood there, card in hand, trying to pay. Finally somebody else showed up to collect. Also, it never occurred to them that I might need utensils. Usually passed out with the plate, they weren't and they were not offered when served. Had to request them as she walked away. When I returned to order my wife's salad, I very clearly stated that I wanted vinaigrette on the garden salad instead of the garlic. After saying she'd have it ready in just a minute, she promptly forgot about it. After waiting for some time, I finally reminded her and got the salad soon after - with the garlic dressing. Exasperated by now, I declined her offer to remake it and left with the wrong dressing. I'll mention that I was the only customer in the dining room at first, with a table of two arriving afterwards - the table that got their pizza first. I guess three people at once threw them for a loop! Summing up, and sorry this is so long - the root of the problem seemed to be that nobody appeared to be in charge. Indifferent service is the result. Management seems to have taken their their eye off the ball here. I'll give them another try sometime, and hope this experience was a one-off. Or I'll be looking for a new favorite place for pizza. read more

Editing my review agian just so upset right now I don't know how the place is my experience may not be typical probably isn't but if you're going there for a first time don't get a whole pizza just get a single slice I literally blew 30 some bucks on my 14-in and some of there garlic knots or whatever they're called and a drink and let's not forget that the machine asks for tip when you pay. Also I think they're using sourdough or something like that for the bread go ahead and give them a try but for Pete's sakes just get a slice until you know if you like it don't be a fool like me. read more

I really wanted to like this place since I live so close by, but I was pretty underwhelmed. The pizza toppings were great, but sparse and I felt the pizza was burnt. I absolutely love this place. Whenever I want an "old school" New York style pizza this is the place to go. The smell of the crust is heaven, the serve is always warm and welcoming. I can't eat as much as I did when I was younger, so the Monster Slice is a perfect throwback to eating a slice on the street. All that's needed is a cuppa fruit punch to wash it down. I'm so pleased to have a new pizza place in mountains edge, the reviews on Old School Pizzeria were amazing!! My husband have been dying to try it and finally was able to try it for the first time tonight. . We were so impressed!!! We ordered a regular cheese pizza and a large garden salad which came in a bread bowl (nice touch). There are no words to describe how much we enjoyed it all! The dough was so crisp and tasty...like nothing I've had in many years. I'm such a pizza girl but I found myself loving the salad. The bread bowl just made it out of this world, not to mention the dressing. I don't normally do reviews but we loved it so much and it's definitely our #1 choice for pizza!!
