Omelets for the win. They both come with two sides. We upgraded one of our sides to a cinnamon flapjack and it was totally worth it.

"This place is never not busy." As I was told by by a local dentonite, and they were right. This place was absolutely packed to the brim of people enjoying brunch. I totally thought we were destined to wait a crazy long time. However, since it was just a small two top we were seated immediately. Their menu is definitely intimidating and they even have a coffee menu that is two-sided. All I can say is the food is absolutely delicious and totally worth the wait. The portion sizes are huge so if you get an omelette you will not finish it. The flapjack was cinnamon crunch and it was amazing and did not need syrup. The coffee was also absolutely delicious. This was my one meal for the day and I was still full the next day.

Food is good, although not always consistent. Service always amazing. Brunch during the early hours gets really busy. Expect to wait at least 30 mins during the popular times. This is an extremely large area. Staff has always been kind.

Typically go to Old West in Grapevine. Tried Denton location for first time. Old West is the best breakfast place in DFW! Be prepared to wait but worth it. Never disappointed.

Old West Cafe is a favorite place to go to for brunch. The food is always excellent and the service as well.

Had a lovely experience here this weekend for brunch. It was a busy Sunday for sure with several families ahead of us but we only needed to wait 25 to 30 minutes for a table. The server was very friendly and answered all of our questions promptly. He moved with urgency and got us all that we needed! The food itself was delicious and there is plenty to choose from since their menu is massive. Each item was also decently priced for how much food you get. Restaurant dining area was clean but the bathroom could definitely be better as there was paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor.

Wow, I really did step back in time! Great prices for great food.

This is simple! Come here order food and be happy! Great portions, great prices, delicious food, well staffed and amazing service. I ordered a breakfast burrito which comes with 4 choices of ingredients as you can see I ordered 8 for an additional $3.00. I do recommend the hash brown casserole which was very affordable! I am stuffed in a good way, my taste buds are satisfied and if I lived in Denton this would be my go to place. Victoria rocked the service! The only downside was the knucklehead at the table across from me watching a video without headphones.

First time here. Food was delicious VERY generous portions! We got the Curly Wolf scramble- layered meal- ham steak on the bottom, large biscuit split in half, scrambled eggs with cheese, 2 sausage patties, gravy, fried potatoes around the sides, white queso drizzled on top, 2 pieces of bacon! Omg huge! Enough for 4 people and so good! We also got the white chocolate pumpkin spice pancake... also huge Ada big as the plate. Delicious as well. We went Saturday morning around 7:30 no line or wait. Service was great! Very fast! Paige was our server. Definitely going back.

The only reason this isn't 4 stars is because of the attitudes we were "greeted" with...your hostess team needs to be friendly and engaging. The entrance and waiting areas could be better, not easy for disabled folks. Luckily, our waitress was very good. Now, onto the food. We had chicken fried chicken, the vaquero skillet, the coosies skillet and of course shared a buttermilk pancake. The chicken fried chicken was very good and "one of the best" he's had. The vaqueros skillet was very good, those potato's are really good!! The salsa was very fresh tasting as well. The coosies skillet had fluffy biscuits and the gravy was really good. The pancake was just a pancake, kind of stick to the plate but it was still tasty. We were very pleased with the food overall. Again, our waitress was great. Ambiance was fine, casual and easy going. Just kind of rustic but comfortable once seated. Felt congested at the front and you're not allowed to stand there, which is no big deal for most, when it is conveyed in a hospitable manner. There isn't a lot of waiting room if it's raining and cold.,.fyi. Great coffee!

My partner in food wanted to try the King Kong against my better judgment. Looking at the photos, it didn't appear conceivable - to make matters worse, he wanted it to go! It came deconstructed. Four HUMONGOUS beef patties and probably a whole pound of bacon and beautifully melted cheddar. The bun was questionable, mostly because it was nowhere near enough bread for all that meat, but I get it, in a challenge situation, I wouldn't want to load up on bread. The patties were well seasoned and firm. I would have preferred medium, but since I was sharing, well done was fine. Not over done and still juicy. It also came with a container full of steak fries! I admittedly put a hurting in the fries, dipping them in the house ranch mixed with the jalapeño ranch. I wanted the fries to be crispier and the ranch to be thicker, but they were delicious nonetheless!! So how much of it did we finish?? I finished one patty with out bread!! My partner finished one and a half patties with sandwich bread. The bun got designated to my leftover patty. Tomorrow's lunch will be a single patty burger with half a pound of bacon!

The food looked great when it came out -- generous portions and nice presentation -- but the flavor didn't quite live up to the visuals. The burger patties were cooked through but a little dry, and the seasoning was pretty mild. The mushroom and onion topping added some flavor, but the bun felt a bit soggy halfway through. The cheeseburger was fine, but nothing that really stood out. The chili dog had plenty of chili and cheese on top, but the chili itself was a bit bland and heavy. The fries were thick and crunchy at first, but cooled off quickly and lost their crisp. They tasted more like frozen fries than fresh-cut. Service was polite and friendly, though the wait for food felt a little long considering it wasn't busy when we came in. The place has a laid-back, old-school diner vibe, which is nice in theory, but the inside could use a little refresh. It's not bad if you're nearby and craving a burger, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

To be clear, I celebrate the Denton fusion; it's one of my fave things about gems like Picone & Komodo Loco- the cuisine cannot be found anywhere else. Picone's chicken cutlets = mind blowing. The Piccata is my fave, but you really can't go wrong with any of their chicken parms. Their menu is fairly simple - no Cheesecake Factory novel to read. Check their website because they change their menu frequently. I love that they do this. Many things are staples but I've never been mad for choosing something new. Besides piccata, my partner likes the smash burger. I love the burnt carrots. Their focaccia pizza was outstanding. We like the potatoes and the Cesar salad, but they're outshined by the rest of the menu so we rarely get them. My recommendation: get a chicken parm of your choosing & one of their specials. Then share with one of your peeps. (The cutlets are the size of your head). Now let's talk staff and service. I have never ever had bad service there & have thoroughly enjoyed all interactions with staff. I feel like everyone really likes being there & cares about what they do. Go in with joy and joy will be returned to you. Ambiance: You order at the counter when you walk in. They'll give you a number and you sit wherever. It's super-casual, kinda small-ish hole-in-the-wall in the best way. It's always been doing a brisk business when we've gone. Be aware that the back room can get loud because of acoustics so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to it. There is limited onsite parking, but ton of street parking all around. I think that covers it. :) Enjoy!!

My server was doubling as the door guy but what surprised me was that there wasn't another soul in the restaurant at 12:15 on a Friday afternoon. They have a wide open space for seating which to me might potentially get loud if it was busy, but with just me in the place it was quiet. I didn't feel any bad vibes at all from the place. I just happened to drive over while I was waiting for my number to be called at the tax office down the street. Luckily the service was speedy and fast. Cheese enchilada with carne and a hard ground beef taco are my go-to at any restaurant. The enchilada was fine, but the taco really underwhelmed me. Felt like I could make a similar flavor with ground beef and a packet of taco seasoning at home. I will say the shell was well-done to be fair it had a nice and light crispiness to it. Price vs food quality I'd say a smidge on the high side. I did the pick 2 for $13 whereas I felt like it should have been in the $10 range. But new place and new building I can understand if the price point needed to be higher. The menu did have a lot of other meals that I might have been willing to try if not pressed for time. Last thing I wanted to do was miss my number being called a the tax office. So speed-wise also great at this place. I got a couple refills of tea and a to go cup from the waiter and it was much appreciated. It wasn't the service here, nor the location I think. It is the food that probably needs to improve some.
