Went here for lunch on the weekend. Parking is horrible in this complex. I must have circled around 3x before finding a spot. This Hawaiian BBQ place is clean, the employees are friendly, and there was no waiting. I got a BBQ beef mini meal. As others said, it's a fair amount of food for only $5. The macaroni salad was tasty and not too greasy. No overpowering mayonnaise flavor. I enjoyed it. The rice was okay and I was surprised it came with a bed of cooked cabbage. Nice touch with the veggies! Now I don't feel so bad about my carb/protein loading. The beef was decent quality, lean, a bit salty, but perfect when combined with the rice and macaroni. I've been here a couple of times and every time I come here I get the same plate which is the mix (chicken,meat,rib). I always get that one because I feel that I get enough for what I'm paying for. Where as before you would get strips of chicken, they now cut up the chicken and spread over the top of the salad. Although one should be thankful they took the extra step to cut up the chicken for you, they also took the liberty to give you less chicken. Not cool. This is one of my favorite branch because they are so generous with their portions !! I got the mini BBQ beef bowl and boy, the portions were huge !! It comes with an ice cream size scoop of macaroni, an ice cream size scoop of rice, and a mountain of beef sitting on top of a bed of lettuce. Howzit!? I am from Hawaii and this place has 2 things that are quite authentic; Kalua Pig and Macaroni Salad. Both are easy to make but hard to perfect. The Chicken Katsu is worth a try but their sauce sucks. I would suggest to add a packet of ketchup to thicken its consistency and couple drops of hot sauce to give it a little kick.
