I actually liked this place more than I thought I would. I wouldn't say everything tasted phenomenal, but it was decent. A few meats were a miss for me (brisket not thin & a bit chewy, bulgogi a bit too sweet), but there were also some that I did enjoy a lot (belly, tongue, short ribs). I haven't tried too many ayce spots for kbbq in San Antonio, but I like this one enough that I would come back. I came back from South Korea on the 20th for vacation, slept, and went to work that was out of town, and came back last night (Nov 24, 2025) and HAD to get myself Korean barbecue to fill in the void of not being in Korea The food was amazing. It reminded me EXACTLY of what would be served back in Uijeongbu, South Korea with requested lettuce and sliced garlic My server, Sida (I'm sorry if I misspelled the name), was AMAZING. She was so attentive, had a wonderful, positive energy, and made me feel at home. I could see her and I being great friends Another thing that caught my eye on the drink menu was that they served soju towers; that's what I would call it when I was still working in South Korea years ago. We've been to this place twice and it's easily a new family favorite. The menu is great and offers A LOT of choices. The unlimited sides aspect is such a great bonus. We love their pork belly, brisket and beef bulgogi. As for the side dishes, our go-to are the corn cheese, Korean hotdog, and the bulgogi fries with cheese. Based off the current reviews + pictures, I had no idea that this restaurant had wagyu meats and so many authentic korean sides. I saw an Instagram foodie post about it so I had to check it out. I realize now that no one posts about it because it is a steep $55+ per person for the most Premium AYCE option. We had 3 people and our bill was about $200 with the tip. There are cheaper menu options though, and I'll mention which one I'd go with next time! The wagyu meats were super delicious, but honestly none of them were that marinated so it still needed sesame oil or kimchi to enhance the flavor. Then at that point you could be eating any other meat. I don't regret trying the premium wagyu, but I recommend going one level down in the AYCE menu options and getting the LA galbi. This meat is very well marinated with great KBBQ flavor and short ribs are my favorite cut of meat. We'll stick to that and pork belly or jowl next time. This has become my favorite AYCE Korean place in town based on all the great quality Korean sides. You can order any of the soups - soy bean, kimchi or ramen. We got the spicy cold noodle which was really refreshing while eating so much meat. We also got corn cheese and ttebokki (spicy rice cakes). Another unexpected favorite from our table was the Honey Glazed rice cakes. It was almost like fried, sweet mochi. We loved it and had 3 orders. Lastly, I've got to say our service was really good. They have a tabletop iPad that makes it easy to order more meat. The servers from last Friday night were also great about giving us sides and made it a fun time. They could see we went through the small serving of kimchi quickly so they gave us a large bowl. This is going to be our go-to place for KBBQ from now on. We were very excited to enjoy the 5/5 meal described in the other reviews. And, we did enjoy the beef and teriyaki chicken best. The Hawaiian beef was tough. The best sides were the Mongolian French fries and the broccoli salad. Sauces were tasty. The restaurant was busy and had only been open for about a week. The staff clearly was overwhelmed. We had to ask for menus, ask for sauces, extra water...you get the idea...and the check. We were given forks and scissors, but knives weren't available and rice was served without servimg spoons! There was a mistakenly undercooked item but the manager graciously provided us a 10 percent discount...much appreciated. Ooh La La is a family owned AYCE Korean bbq restaurant that I did not expect to find in San Antonio. I gave a 3 out of 5 stars based on flavor alone. I ordered a side of japchae which I could tell was sitting in the pot or a container for a long time because the noodles were all stuck together and it was formed in the shape of the container it was sitting in. I'm used to most all-you-can-eat KBBQs cutting quality to meet quantity demands but there was too much cut to quality to warrant eating all I could eat. I would do their lunch option (which I haven't tried) but fried chicken and rice is right up my alley. I don't think I would do their dinner option again. We came here for lunch and ordered from the dinner menu, only to be told that two of the items weren't available. She brought out two salads at first glance they looked fine, but underneath, everything was wilted and turning red. I checked my husband's and it was the same. We also ordered a Korean cheese dog, but they couldn't make it because they couldn't find the cheese. One of the unavailable dishes happened to be what I really wanted to eat. We were told we could order three meats at a time, so we chose garlic shrimp (which turned out to be just four shrimp drenched in jarred garlic), garlic chicken, and beef bulgogi. All of them were sitting in their own juices. If i could upload all the pictures i took, i would. We never got refills, weren't even asked. I hate leaving bad reviews but I felt it needed to be noted: BUYER BEWARE. Here from NTX 11/7/25 and wanted to get some comfort food for dinner. Upon looking up Reviews here we decided to give it a go. Basically, we got Yelp catfished. As soon as we arrived we noticed the "under new management" signage. I don't know when this went into effect but just know that beautiful wagyu photo featured on the YELP page will be met with a toothless 63 year old exotic dancer. (No offense to toothless exotic dancers). The menu appears to be different from when they got all the good ratings. In their defense, their website does have the correct current menu. HOWEVER, several AYCE menu items we tried to order, they were out of. It was Saturday at 6:30. How are they out of stock? Coincidentally, 2 of the 3 beef dinner only items were unavailable. We asked for salad and the server told us the meal doesn't come with salad "due to the rising cost of lettuce." As opposed to the meat that people are filling up on instead? That pretty much set us up for a not so great meal experience. There were only about 3-4 tables when we sat and meats took quite a while to come, even if it's just marinated meat that needs to be plated. The place was nearly full by the time we were leaving and for whatever it's worth to anyone who cares, I was the ONLY Asian dining at this establishment. So that means if you finish your 3 meat selection and are hungry for more. You will need to get ANOTHER 3 meats. Not just 1! But 3. Now get this. Let's say you aren't that hungry and won't eat all the meat? Well don't worry! That's why there is a fee for food waste! See the catch? Pretty uncool. Especially when you could just order 1 meat and take your time. The place was empty anyways. It's a ridiculous rule and coming from New Jersey and the east coast where Korean BBQ is everywhere. I have never heard of this rule. To the owner I would've spent much more money here on Soju and alcohol if I wasn't forced into ordering a ton of meat at once. The less good: The burners are electric and do not get hot enough, which is a big problem for KBBQ. You'll find it challenging to sear thin cuts quickly with nice Maillard browning, and instead the meat can steam a bit as it sits on the plate. They do not serve alcohol but do allow BYOB. we have tried a lot of korean bbq restaurants around town and around texas. i would rate this one among our top experiences. my requirements are pretty simple - tasty, tender, well marinated meats and plenty of veggies - and cucumbers & radishes are MUST haves! casual spot, but nice enough for a date night, booths are well spaced so private enough for convos. there werent too many diners on a monday night @ 6:00, so service may have been more attentive than customary. but we had plenty of fast friendly service - donnelle was our server, but others stopped by too to check on us. i liked ooh la la's ayce set up. i enjoyed being able to try some side dishes i might not have otherwise tried. we had beef bulgogi, spicy pork bulgogi, pork belly, hawaiian beef and cajun chicken. all the meats were tender and flavorful. the cajun chicken - although very good, kinda threw off our asian vibe! lol! for sides we had: yaki mandu, japchae, pumpkin porridge and shrimp tempura. the yaki mandu didnt have much fillling, but were pretty good. my hubbie really liked the japchae - not my thing, shrimp tempura were really frozen breaded shrimp, but they were ok, and porridge was surprisingly good. it came in handy when i took an especially spicy bite! i was very happily surprised that i ended up with radishes & cucumbers left over when i'd finished with the meat. usually im rationing them! but larger portions were offered & brought when i mentioned they were my faves. hubbie and i left with very full tummies and an enjoyable evening out!! read more
