Beautiful view. Bleh food. Not impressed with the service. The hostess was really nice and fixed us a table right away after seeing my large group awkwardly scattered on the patio. We got there for the happy hour special after work. It was about 11 or so of us ready to spend a visa card we won from work. WARNING: THERE'S AN 18% GRATUITY AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED FOR VISA GIFT CARDS. Isn't charging gratuity illegal? I ordered the Sangria Blanco and it tasted like a Malibu and pineapple. While Malibu and Pineapples are just fine, that's not what I ordered. I sent it back for the Acai Margarita because my co worker ordered that. I already tried it, and I knew it would be good. The server was really nice about it and exchanged the drink... But what I got looked totally different. Not to mention, tasted like cranberry juice on ice. I didn't want to complain again because I didn't want to be THAT person. The appetizers we ordered were just ok. Calamari was a little on the salty side but still pretty good with lemon squeezed on top. The sliders come 2 per order, and so did the tacos... would have been nice to know from our server since it doesn't say on the menu... We even asked her for her advice on how much to order for our large group! Neither of the tacos nor sliders were that great. Our waitress was kind of a joke. We asked a question about which Anchor Steam they served and she said, "Um, I have no idea."..... every question we had about the food items or any other drinks were answered the same way! The first and only time I went (thus far), the restaurant was having a gas leak. They sat us and after ordering appetizers, the waitress came to inform us that only a few items were available on the entreé menu that night. We were pretty disappointed because we would've appreciated a call in advance to warn us. They had all our contact information and I had reservations for at least two days so I'm not sure what the excuse was. We were about to leave when the waitress came back and told us that they fixed the gas. We ordered our original selections. They were very good, but not 100% worth the price. Their drink selection is great, but again, a little expensive for the amount they give you. The view was beautiful and we got to watch the gorgeous sunset from our table. That was the best part. I would recommend outdoor dining for sure. My husband liked his steak more than I enjoyed my vegetarian dish, but we would still return. read more

Friend recommended we come here for dinner to enjoy the night view, Disneyland fireworks, and outdoor fire pit seating. We were pretty much surrounded by tables of two, so if you don't like eating around a bunch of couples, this isn't the place for you. While the food was good and they've done a good job with making the outdoor seating as comfortable as possible, I have to knock it down to 3 stars because of their service. When the waitress did come around, she was very friendly and professional, but most of the time we had to look for her when we wanted something. Even when it came time to paying the bill, we finally got up from our seats and had to go inside to ask the bartender to help us, after being passed by several waitstaff who didn't offer help or would avoid eye contact, maybe so we wouldn't bother them? We ventured out to Orange Hill for our Anniversary dinner on a friends recommendation. It was perfect! After reading the menu and reviews, we decided to try the Sunset Prix Fixe and couldn't have been more pleased! Our server was Maleah. She was fabulous!!! So sweet and courteous! Her timing was fantastic. We started with the Pacific Oysters, amazingly fresh. I loved the minionette here, but no horseradish was provided... Our choice was the French Onion and Prime Rib. Meat cooled perfectly to order and Maleah even checked back to insure we were content. We followed up with dessert. Cheesecake wasn't mentioned much in other reviews but I loved it with it marshmallow creme on top! Creme Brûlée us our usual go-to dessert but this was a tad bitter? Dessert topped off by a celebratory house made whip cream and dipped strawberries to congratulate our anniversary. Overall gorgeous views, yummy food and EXCELLENT service. read more

My friend hosted her birthday party here in one of their banquet rooms. I drove up the hill with my mom and she was super scared.I thought it was actually really funny because she was panicking. I arrived at the the top & they had valet parking, but I didn't need to use it because my mom dropped me off. The people working in valet were nice and directed my mom how to exit the parking lot. I got dropped off and was I was completely lost in which room they were hosting the party in. I asked the workers at the entrance where the starlight ballroom was and they politely told me where it was located. The ballroom was beautiful. The party started at 7 and my friends and I took beautiful pictures outside with the sunset. The room had glass walls and it was honestly so beautiful. The room would be quite small if you're hosting a huge wedding. We finally had dinner and the food was to die for. I was so hungry that day and I couldn't believe it was that good. I got a beef dish, but I forgot what it was called. The dish had beef, mash potatoes, and 3 different types of vegetables. Since I didn't pay for the meal I'm betting it was really expensive. The experience was out of this world. Totally would come back for a special event. I enjoyed everything about this place. So you all should try this place out! read more

Wow. My husband surprised me and brought us here for date night. We had never been before. Honestly we do not get out much with our kids, but when we do we really want to have an experience... From start to finish Orange Hill was that. The view is absolutely breathtaking-- it feels as though you're on the top of the world for dinner. Yet my husband and I thought -- ok the view is great but the real test will be the service and food. Our server made our experience incredible! Paul was so attentive, made incredible suggestions, and was so personable. He made our night!!! Both my husband and I did not know what to order-- and he asked both of us questions pertaining to our particular palettes. I got the scallops per Paul's suggestion and my husband got the Prime Rib. Disappointed. The nice thing is this place will always have a nice view. That being said, this place has gone down hill (so to speak) since the last several times we've been here. It's a shame, since the view is so nice. But, the food and service are lacking, particularly given the pricing. We went there to celebrate our anniversary, and I'm very much regretting our choice. My $48 rib eye (ordered rare) and my wife's lobster ($58) were petrified, not quite the way to reward repeat customers. Service was slow, despite it being a Wednesday and a sparsely populated night. And we were charged a $7 valet fee to park our car, with no indication of this charge when we arrived and no option to park on our own. Not that $7 is make or break for a nice restaurant, but at least they could have informed us ahead of time. To add insult to injury, my mother in law uses a walker and they made her divert up and down through stairs to avoid walking near their kitchen, despite her using a mask. First time there, attentive staff, nice menu. We ordered steaks (they dry age their beef) which were cooked to a perfect medium rare. The sides complimented our meal and the deserts were delicious. I really want to like this restaurant but other than the view, other factors were meh, below average. Took friends of mine from out of town 2 Saturdays ago they had wanted to try as they heard the view was spectacular and they wanted to have that experience being in Southern CA. They had just finished their 2nd day being at Disneyland thus this was good central spot. I have been here before and my take of this restaurant is again not one my favorite places but it was up to our friends. They had made reservations for 6:00 pm and requested patio seating over the phone but they couldn't confirm if that will be available at that time, which was fine we understand. Arrived at 6:00 pm, hostesses were gracious, sure enough patio seating was not available until about another 45 minutes, so we said we will wait at the bar. Again we totally understand it was a Saturday night This is where it all went downhill (pun intended). We got lucky and hovered near the table where previous guests had just left. One of the bartenders "yelled" across to us to go ahead and sit and they will clean it up and give us menus. 10 minutes go by table had not been cleaned yet, so we just took it upon ourselves to clean it and placed all the dirty glassware/utensils/plates to another nearby "unserviced" table. Not a big deal. Another 10 minutes finally we were acknowledged and asked if we were ready to order, mind you our table had not been serviced yet, no utensils, no napkins and no menus. She finally realized it and said she'll be right back. Another 5 minutes no menu, we flagged another server or it was one of the bartenders and asked for a menu. Another 5 minutes no menu, so we just went to the front desk and grabbed a few. Finally original server came with menus, but we already knew what we wanted. Ordered appetizers and cocktails. They did take another 20 minutes and appetizers came first and cocktails came about 5 minutes later after we started our appetizers. Ordered Crab Cakes, Mushroom Fries, Mac n Cheese, Beet Salad and Lamb on Stick. The Crab Cakes and Mushroom Fries were just okay, best out of the others which again "meh". The cocktails were super strong, to others it may be a good thing, but we prefer a balance. That's when I noticed, both bartenders were not using jiggers. At this point because of the slow service and the so so food, we decided to cancel our reservations. My guests were disappointed with the whole experience starting from the inattentiveness of the staff and to the food. So, won't be coming here again. read more

We came at night and were eating outside and I kindly asking someone if we can have a heater next to us since it was cold she said she was gonna be back with it but never came. They asked us like three times if we were celebrating something and replied and we expected something from them since they kept asking but nothing. In conclusion you're basically paying for the view. I've heard good things regarding the view and the drinks here. Came here for a dinner for two. The food, as expected, was priced high but well worth the money. We ordered 3 items: the lobster bisque, the seabass, and the Filet Oscar. All of the dishes were excellent. The fish was fresh, the steak was good. The pesto sauce with bread was excellent. After dinner, we went out to the balcony, and the view was stunning. The firepits set up also provide a great atmosphere, as well as seating around for drinks. This is an excellent place for dates, or for a small group of friends. Great quality, slightly pricey though, but definitely worth a visit. a GREAT alternative to Yamashiro (which, in my opinion, was very very disappointing). My husband and I are going around looking for places to hold our wedding and Orange Hill was one of the place that was on our list. We went on a short notice on Sunday and there was a table available, thank God! There was also a wedding reception going on so it was awesome to take a peek at. =) The view was awesome at night, in front of a fire pit. The food was great. We had Calamari Fritti which was very unique. Maine Lobster Bisque, which I honestly didn't like so much; it tasted bitter. For the entree we had "Chateaubriand for Two." They brought out I don't even know what it was but they poured brandy on it and lit it on fire. Everyone was looking over to see what it was..haha that was quite an interesting show? What a beautiful and perfect placement for a restaurant. Up on top of a hill in the city of Orange (hence Orange Hill). At night the restaurant can be seen from quite a distance and noticeable by the tree lights that surround the restaurant. Very elegant and classy place great for dinner especially if seated by the window over looking the city lights while enjoying the delicious food.
