Picked up food and had a great experience with Parker (like spider man he says). It's a new restaurant so everything is nice, new and super clean. Nice ambiance, music, tv, a bar, even pac man arcade game lol. We got pizza, wings, sub, salad and dessert. The service though is what really stands out. I hope they make Parker a manager because he sells it GOOD. I hate ham but he's got me wanting to try it. LOL. I'm pretty sure he can sell a pen. Pizza needs serious work.... Basically don't have anything good to say about the pizza unfortunately. From the sauce to the crust it simply wasn't good regardless of the cost which was high for what was received. To add insult to injury I found an eyebrow hair in the Caesar salad. So I stopped eating and had to buy some food at the store to not end the night hungry. I would not recommend eating pizza here. All of our guests agreed on the disappointing pizza quality. I'd recommend frozen pizza like tombstone or any take and bake pizza over this. Maybe the wings or sandwiches are better but until some changes are made don't bother with the pizza. read more

I loved Magoo's but recently I tried to make an order for pickup online. Official site confirmed my order but I got a email back saying they did not confirm my order within 5 minute. I tried to contact the restaurant via phone for half an hour and could not connect. Magoo's ruined National Pizza Day for me this year. I had wanted pizza for a couple of days and we decided to try this place. The pizza was pretty good. I'd eat it again. My husband wanted wings and I'm not sure if the exact flavor but it was like mild buffalo meets garlic parm. It was heavy on the salt but that was probably the parmesan cheese. They were good though. Don't remember the last time I had a pizza that was bad. Somehow the pizza was burnt on the bottom and uncooked on the inside. Dough was dense and chewy like they forgot to add yeast or something. I would leave a negative infinity review if I could. What follows is a 100% ABSOLUTE TRUE STORY. I go to this restaurant and they charge a $20 tip for a $30 order. I go back a couple of days later and show the owner the receipt ($30) and the charge on my bank account ($50). Instead of giving me the money back, the owner argues with me for 15 minutes about how this was my fault somehow. Tired of arguing, I said if he didn't give me the money I would Yelp him and he would probably lose a lot more than $15. He said, "Let's take this outside." I have no idea if he was threatening to physically fight me at this point or what. Let's review: 1. This restaurant jacks up your tip on the down low. 2. When you go back to complain, the owner threatens to fight you outside his store. WHY WOULD YOU EAT HERE??????? Can't wait until they go out of business. Honestly, this was the single most f*cked up thing that ever happened to me at a business. UPDATE: Sent this message as reply to what the business owner wrote below: OWNER: We understand that may have been a mistake but the $20 tip was already paid out on June 9th and today is June 17th. If you had identified this mistake the day of or the day after we could have fixed it. -Nice try. The guy I spoke to said something to this effect after I told him I would Yelp him: "Oh you're threatening me now?! I was about to give you the money back, but now I'm not!" OWNER: Regarding asking you to talk outside, this was solely to discuss outside the view of other customers so they could enjoy their experience, nothing else. -The guy I spoke to was the only one yelling. So he asked me to go outside to protect his customers from his own yelling. Awesome. 2ND UPDATE: I scrolled through the 1 star reviews (which are plentiful) and another customer who got ripped off by them got a refund TWO WEEKS LATER (and even posted their bank app transaction).. I have been a fan of Magoo's since the 80's. In my opinion, they have the best pizza on the island. I would rate their pizza as 5 stars! However, this rating and review is for their new business practice of not allowing half and half pizzas. Magoo's is now probably the ONLY pizza place on the island that doesn't allow this. We would always get the giant pizza, with half combo and half ham/pineapple. This was perfect for our family, with combo for the adults and ham/pineapple for the kids. And at $32, it was a good value! On our last visit, we were told that they don't do half and half anymore, and that we'd have to buy two pizzas instead. Whaaaat??? Shocked, we ended up buying a medium combo and a medium ham/pineapple. The price of the two pizzas was almost $50 now. Sakara, please reconsider this decision! You are upsetting your loyal customers and will be losing more money, as we now (regretfully) will go to Pizza Hut to get a large half/half pizza. :( read more

One weekend night preparing to watch UH men's volleyball, pizza came to mind. My husband suggested let's try ordering something else rather than the usual. He thought of Magoo's Pizza! Called in the order of a Giant Combo pizza. Within minutes, the cellphone rang saying it's ready for pickup. Had to GPS the location because I'm not familiar where they're located. Wow, they're right off of Kapahulu Ave and I've drove past Winan Ave probably a million times. Upon arriving, we noticed the pizza was circle in size, not square in particular. Roel, who was the cashier, quickly apologized and ordered the kitchen to remake another one giving us the large pizza anyway, what a nice guy! No problem, just waited another 10 minutes or so, getting to know Roel a little bit more and all his past customer service jobs while noticing how many phone calls and online orders this place produces during dinner time! There was also a freezer right near the entrance with locally made icecream, good to know, because desserts I live for. Btw, they have Grub Hub deliver for them, but they also have ample parking right in front if you decide on pickup. I'm coming back for more pizza and chicken wings next time around. read more

They're pizza is so onolicious! Every bite takes me back to being a kid again. When my mom wanted to take a break from cooking. We would pick up a veggie pizza from the truck in the Kahala Times parking lot. My only humbug about this place currently is the process on picking your order. It's hell, you're to wait for them to send you an email to when your order is ready. There is only three parking spots that they would want you to use. When your order is ready, you're to park in either of those spaces. Well you know where I'm going with this. It's a poop-show! Those parking spots are not available. There is no other parking except to park where you shouldn't. My suggestion, bring someone with you. One can drive around and the other can pick up the food. Don't worry, it will all work out. The one driving will definitely pick up the one with the food, right?! Ps: Try there vanilla bread pudding. It's well worth it! read more

Ordered a combo pizza & chicken dinner this afternoon. I grew up on Magoo's and still absolutely love their sauce and generous toppings. Definitely delicious. I agree with others that their crust used to be more cracker-ish, but I can deal with the change. Two things on the chicken dinner. I totally miss the refreshing coleslaw vs. the potato salad. They were out of potato salad when I ordered, but the side salad was a nice alternative. Do miss the coleslaw tho. The fries? Don't wanna say they sucked, but the crinkle fries were a staple of this chicken dinner. That was seriously disappointing after decades of the crispy crinkles. Service wise, Pierre was fantastic! He was super friendly and concise when I ordered and picked up. Definitely a star employee. He went above and beyond to make the order easy, and was a great representative of the business. Mahalo Nui, Pierre! I went there right after they ordered and they had a cozy setup with a few nice flatscreens with different sports going on. The seated table looked like they were having a great time! The little bar looked like a place I could spend time at too. Overall a great experience, ono nostalgic pizza and chicken with a couple of minus points for those of us who have admired Magoo's since we were Keiki. I'll always go back if they keep the pizza basically the same. I've been loyal to every single location they've had...even the truck! Pizza was delicious but the fried wings were too salty and had overwhelming been seasoned. The corn on the cob was sweet and well prepared and the ceasar salad was also very good. The water has a hint of chlorine taste that just throws your appetite off a bit but with the strong seasoned chicken you'd forget all about the chlorine. The pizza is always good, however.... This review is on the wait time. I placed an online order at 5:24PM on a Saturday for pick up at 7:30PM. Here I am waiting in my car at 7:53PM and my order is still not ready. We called when we were on our way at 7:25PM and they said it will be another 15 minutes. I gave them 2 hours advance notice along with a 20% tip which totaled $77 and I still gotta wait?! Now it's 8:07PM and surrounded by 5 other cars..... I'm pretty sure my pizza wasn't even started until we called the first time...... It's 8:17PM and no pizza yet..... I call them at 8:23PM to see WTF is going on because I just noticed that I received an email from them at 8:03PM saying that my order is ready. I finally get my order at 8:25PM after waiting there for 55 minutes! The pizza was warm, at best. The chicken was hot as heck. Seems kinda backwards huh? The guy that was waiting for 30 minutes next to us came out and told his family his order was fulfilled from someone else's order. Maybe was ours. The employees were apologetic. The food tasted top notch as usual. Again, this review is only on the wait time. Something is wrong with the system. The owner needs to revamp it. No Hu Hu!!
