This place is great for casual hangouts and family. The food quality is very high, where they often have fresh blue-fin tuna available and a few daily rarities. I love their "flight" series, where they offer assorted toros, tuna and salmon, and their hot food is delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy and calm. You can have anything you'd like at the sushi bar, unusual for Japanese places. Service is awesome as our lady Carol, is always warm and friendly, with great attention to details. With great regret I have to write this. I've been coming here with my wife and family for the last few years and have enjoyed great service and food. Unfortunately we have had to wait over an hour to get our meals after our order and that is unacceptable. We've given them a pass the last couple times but it keeps happening and ruins your night. read more

This was our first visit, and we were surprised to see this place was quite full on a weekday evening. We ordered a few cooked dishes to share (Yaki with beef and tempura prawns and veg. and beef sukiyaki) and we enjoyed all our food. Service was so so and could have been better, but overall, I would say it's a good place for a light dinner. read more

The sushi here is pretty decent and the staff is nice. We've come here a few times for dinner and we never have to wait and the food comes out pretty quickly. The sushi chef and servers are very friendly. To the right of their main restaurant they also have a side room with two smaller rooms and a larger room for larger parties. 10 of us came in for dinner and were seated immediately. It was great because we were able to be lively without disturbing their other guests. They have great prices on sake-bombs. :) read more

Wonderful food and stuff. Rude and incompetent management. I think they brought new manager who will ruin this restaurant. On January 12 they did not delivery me sushi for a long time. All my party finished their food and my "deluxe flight salmon" (which I ordered each day) was not ready. I then cancelled my order and asked for explanation. This guy did not offer nor explanation neither apology. I would not recommend this restaurant unless this manager is fired. read more

very delicious great service and ample staffing!! the hawaii roll was hands down my favorite because i love some spicy tuna! but the food came out very quickly and everything was great. the menu was a bit overwhelming but that's only a bad thing if you have a hard time making decisions. if i was ever in the redmond area again i would definitely come back! read more

I really enjoyed it, first time being here, the dumplings were spot on, the potstickers were amazing, and I really liked that spicy beef, but, some of the staff seem to not know that much english, and the interior is good, although some of the meals came like, boiling hot, and I had to wait at least 10 minutes to cool down, but the food didn't look over cooked, so that surprised me. read more

We ate here for lunch. Nothing special. Ordered lunch special nigiri combo and sashimi lunch. Fish is average quality and rice tasted off. When we got the bill we noticed they added extra $1 for bluefin tuna for sashimi plate. When we told the server we didn't order bluefin tuna, she said they didn't have regular tuna so they automatically substituted without letting us know. I understand it's only $1 difference but shouldn't the server let the customers know beforehand? Probably not going back here again. read more

Oto Sushi has the usual appetizers like age dashi tofu, tempera, pan fried gyoza, and edamame. They also the usual Matsu, sukiyaki, udon, soba, sashimi, nigiri, teriyaki, and sushi rolls. Some unique menu items at Oto are the Hamachi Capaccio (thin sliced yellowtail with jalapeño, daikon, and spicy ponzu); Flight Toro (4 different toro sashimi slices); Deluxe Flight Salmon (8 different types and styles of salmon); Salmon Poki. On our three visits we sometimes found the service to a bit slow, but the staff was very nice! Oto does not have a makunochi bento box on their menu like other Japanese restaurants. Tip: To save money, go during their HH 11:30-2:30 and 4:30-5:30 Monday through Friday. read more

Giving this place 4 out of 5 stars for the serving sizes and price. I ordered the 7$ smoked salmon philly roll that was the most delicious philly roll I've ever had. The fish is super fresh, we got there 30 minutes after opening and got to see them preparing whole fish at the bar. My SO ordered the chicken teriyaki meal. He enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and steamed rice, much better teriyaki sauce then other places we have tried. However his meal had small proportions in comparison to other teriyaki meals he's ordered at other sushi places. His meal did come with Miso soup and the table with complimentary edamame. I've never had miso soup before but it was disgusting and my SO was hungrier bc of it. Don't know how Miso normally tastes but there should be an option to swap the miso soup for rice and this would have gotten 5 stars. We paid 36$ something for 1 soda, 1 8 piece roll, and 1 dinner meal. If the proportions had been better then I would have given it full stars. Otherwise really good sushi. I've been eating a lot of sushi lately, and loving the specialty rolls at the different restaurants. Here, I tried the Mexican and Avalon rolls and the Avalon roll was my favorite though both tasted fresh and delicious. There was a bit of a wait to get the rolls - but worth the wait. I also liked the presentation of the rolls - we eat first with our eyes, right? Service was prompt and there was plenty of seating to choose from - we chose to sit at the sushi bar where all of the action was. read more

Been to Japan many times. Stateside? This is about as good as it gets! Never judge a book by its cover. In a strip mall. Beautiful inside. Great service. Busy on a Sunday night....good sign. We come here on a regular basis and always are very pleased with our meal and the service. A couple months we happened upon their Happy Hour. It lasted until 6 pm and had some great prices. Last time they had a special running that if you check in on Facebook you got 10% off your bill. Sign me up! We will definitely be back. read more

Even though our first experience was not a good one, we decided to go back to see if they had improved. We have been back 3 times since and I'm very happy to say that this place now has its act together. Two of the times we went back were Friday evenings just like the first time so we feel like it was a good comparison. Each time we have patroned, we provided our input directly to restaurant staff. I feel like they took it to heart because we were told that based on feedback from customers, they revamped the management of both of their locations. They were well staffed and our order was given to us in a timely fashion. I would consider this a major turn-around. read more

Environment was nice, not too loud. No odor of fish when walking in which is always the first test...I usually walk straight out if a place fails that one. Service was good and orders arrived promptly and accurately. You automatically are served edamame when you arrive and it is nicely salted and has an taste of sesame. Something I ordered came with the miso soup which was good. The fish that I had was all excellent, as was my lunch companion's. We had salmon, maguro, yellowfin, albacore and blue fin sashimi. I had octopus and albacore sushi. I also had a spicy tuna handroll and a "Mexican" cut roll. All was delicious. My only quibble is I prefer the albacore to have the 'ponzu' sauce or whatever I am used to having on my albacore and either they went too light with it or just did not add it at all. Anyway, the cut rolls are pretty substantial and filling so keep that in mind when ordering. The place can be pricey if you order a la carte as I always do. There are ways to order, like ordering the specials, that substantially cut the cost. Anyway, this is my go to sushi place in the Redmond area. I definitely recommend it. read more

Just had a very disappointing experience today. I went with a party of 8, and I ordered Teppenyaki Chicken when everyone else ordered sushi. When everyone's sushi came out, the server told me that mine would be two minutes behind. Fast forward 30 minutes, everyone has finished their sushi, but I still had no food. I had to find the server to tell her. At that point, I asked for my food to-go. The server barely apologized, didn't offer us to take it off of the check, and still got a 20% tip because there was an autograt. To add insult to injury, when I got home, it was a completely different entree that I didn't order and didn't want. I don't understand why this restaurant has such a high rating, I will never be back. So disappointing. read more

Have been visiting regularly for the last year and this has become my favorite sushi restaurant in area. Excellent quality sushi and sashimi, and excellent rolls. Faves are the Omikase sushi and sashimi platters, Bootylicious roll (with a delicious special dipping sauce they make for it), and even the basic California roll is fantastic with real crab. My wife and I had the tempura udon with the spring salad and a philly roll, and my son had the curry tonkatsu. The tempura was very good, freshly fried and not too greasy. The udon itself was a little bland, could have used more seasoning, but the noodles were properly cooked. The salad was very good, and the philly roll as well. My son also liked his curry a lot. Service was very good, and they kept refilling our tea cups. The only issue is a lack of parking, but everything else was really good. read more
