Had a good time dining here. The service was better than our last visit. For appetizers, there's complimentary bread with butter. We also ordered chicken wings and fried mozzarella sticks. As always, I got my favorite baby back ribs with a side of mashed potatoes and potato with bacon soup. My toddler had the toowoomba with broccoli and asparagus as sides. My best friend was in town; with his sister from out of state, and looking for somewhere quick where we could grab a bite to eat. The only catch is it had to be Keto friendly. We both enjoy Outback and remarked how it had been a while, so we headed out. They have a pretty nice size parking lot in the back, there was hardly no wait and we made it in time for their weekday lunch specials which end at 4. Our waitress Ami was absolutely wonderful, she would check in on us, answer our questions and make great recommendations. This location was doing a charity, where by ordering an alcoholic beverage they would donate a dollar towards a charity that dealt with assisting staff during financial hardships. All of our food came out fresh, hot and correct! We of course split a blooming onion, the batter on these is so amazing and would love for the staff to post a video on how they cut it like this lol. We in addition split some wings, omg they got a little kick but this dry rub is phenomenal and I will be back just for the wings! My lunch special included a tri-tip sandwich and one side, I opted for the garden salad. But the additional options are broccoli, rice, or fries. My friend got the steak, couldn't get a photo of that as he devoured it lol. His sister got the ribs but did mention the sauce has a little spice to it which caught her off guard, we didn't mind it. I didn't expect too much, because in recent times, chain restaurants (and most restaurants in general) have declined in quality and service. Many times at restaurants these days, the food is good but service poor or vice versa. Or some items tasty and others not. However, everything was great. The side salad that came with the meal was tasty, and I liked that it actually had things on it. These days, people call a "side salad" a bowl of lettuce and croutons, with maybe 1 extra thing. But Outback has lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, cheese, croutons. The cocktail I got was lavender lemonade and it had vodka. It was perfect and not too sweet. The Blooming Onions I have had in the past were too salty, but we asked our server about this and he told us that they have been listening to feedback and not putting extra salt in it. It was perfect. All steaks and potatoes were also done to our liking. Service was great and you could tell that everyone in the restaurant was doing their job and happy about it. I eat out a lot and again, was surprised in a good way. I get tired of paying a lot for garbage, but this was 100 bucks for 2 steak dinners, sides, an appetizer, 1 cocktail and lemonade. Good price. I've been eating at the outback here on Howe Avenue in Sacramento for over 20 years. I just had the 9 ounce steak filet mignon with lobster and everything turned out perfect. Look at the picture I ordered the filet mignon medium rare, and it came out exactly the way it should be tender, juicy, and medium rare. I'm really torn on this review. We went in for my grandmas 82nd birthday. There were 4 adults. I want to start off with the good. Our Server Riley was amazing. She was attentive without hovering and was super nice and conversational with the old ladies lol. She made the visit worth it. The food started off very strong, the appetizers were 10/10. We had the Bloomin Onion and the mozzarella boomerangs. Delish! The soups were good as well. That however is where the good food ended. The pecan and blue cheese salad was made with a very old iceberg lettuce mix not appetizing, it could have been so much better. The wedge salad was ok. The chicken sandwich was good but lacked flavor. The nail in the coffin was the steak and shrimp pasta. Two of us ordered it. The sauce was completely flavorless and bland. We had to ask for parm and load with salt and pepper to make it edible. Considering this is a steakhouse I was expecting a spot on piece of meat. This was not it. This was by far the worst piece of meat I have ever eaten anywhere. I hate saying that but it was so bad. The taste was like some sort of gamey death. The texture was like mush but somehow still stringy. I'm not sure what was going on with this meat. I would think maybe a fluke but it was the same in both plates. No one ate the meat after one bite. My family and I went to your restaurant today to celebrate a friends marriage, this is where they wanted to go for a mini private reception. Our group was fifteen people, we got there at four and we weren't served until an hour and twenty minutes later. A friend and I ordered prime rib medium rare, when the prime rib came out it was hard to cut, dry, and far from medium rare, so they took it back and we decided to get the Dominico rib eye, we said medium rare and it can out almost rare, we politely informed the manager and she asked if we wanted it placed back on the grill, we did not. The only other thing she did was remove a fried mushroom appetizer for my family and the blooming onion appetizer for the other couple. Our waitress was amazing and friendly that was about the only thing good about our experience. Outback has always been my favorite restaurant, my husband even proposed to me at outback twenty two years ago, but after the experience I had today, I'm left feeling sick from a steak that was not cooked right and service from a manager that fell short. Came in for a light lunch and was greeted by Christian. What a genuinely nice young man. We were seated and offered beverages. We were offered a taste (beer) before locking in our choice. The atmosphere was clean and noise free. TV's were playing various sports. We opted for coconut shrimp, mushrooms and a wedge salad which Christian offered to half for us to share. The food is exactly what you would think of for a chain restaurant. 3.5/5 I ordered the sirloin and ribs. I was surprised that my sirloin was actually cooked right. The sirloin was a little tough but still tasted good. Ribs was a little lackluster. I ordered a side of bloom petals and it was sad. The onions were partially breaded. Some traditions don't need improvement. Yes, the bread is smaller than you remember--roughly half the old size, as if inflation finally found the carbs--but it's still warm, still good, and still gone fast enough that nostalgia doesn't have time to harden into complaint. Tip on the ribeye: get it medium rare. It's seasoned and seared, which means the outside already has the flavor locked in and the inside should be left tender, pink, and unbothered. Ours arrived nicely marbled and properly cooked, a steak that clearly understood the assignment. What truly elevates this place, though, is the human element. Our server, Christian--who was also running the bar--was beyond outstanding. Attentive without hovering, helpful without scripts, and genuinely kind. At one point, he sat with a woman dining alone in the next booth, just to keep her company. No performance, no audience--just decency. That kind of service doesn't show up neatly in star averages, but it counts. So yes, online it may read as a three-star Outback. But order wisely, understand what the kitchen does well, and get someone like Christian holding the room together, and it's an easy five. We went there for a birthday dinner. Walked in at 5pm on a weekday and practically no one there. Taken to our table and noticed garbage on the floor underneath (crayons, scraps of paper, dirt and old used napkins). Ordered our drinks an appetizer, told the waitress what entrees we wanted and asked her to put that order in a few minutes after we got our appetizer. We finished our appetizer and were waiting for our salads. The waitress eventually came back and looked puzzled. Came back to Outback steakhouse to celebrate my Mother in law's birthday on a Sunday afternoon. There was 11 of us and we got seated in about 5 minutes. Ordered the Blooming Onion and Blooming Shrimp. Both were delicious! This time I ordered the steakhouse salad. It was sooo good! There were large pieces of sirloin and the mixed greens was fresh, sweet onions and tomatoes and I absolutely love those Aussie crunch.
