It was a typical Outback visit minus 2 things. 1. This location is not a "bar", thus all drinks come from a bar area back by the kitchen and take forever. We ordered 2 simple, glass bottle beers with our initial drink order that didn't arrive until after our appetizers arrived which were ordered with our meal order. 2. Upon leaving, there were 3 hostesses standing around the check-in area, nobody was waiting in the lobby, they said bye, but none opened the doors for us. I'm not saying this is a requirement, however it's something that I've experienced at every other Outback even when they're busy, so it was odd to me not to get that same level of service here. read more

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised, by the great dining experience, at Outback Steakhouse, St. George Utah! From the moment we entered we were quickly seated. Our server "Kiley" greeted us, took our drink and "Flowering Onion " order. He was friendly and polite. After a proper amount of time, our steaks arrived. They were cooked perfectly! (Kiley asked how we like them cooked and made the proper recommendations) The food and service were excellent, from start to finish! Food....very good and deserves 4 stars. Service...terrible and deserves 0 stars. Someone needs to train the staff to turn on the SMILES, focus on the patrons' needs and do simple things that should NEVER require a request from the guest...like having to ask for silverware.... especially when the bread is delivered and walks away, not even checking to see that the silverware is there. When guests walk into the restaurant and see the phone continually ringing, people in line waiting to ask for a table and the employees are chit chatting, ignoring the phone and line of guests, one does not expect a staff eager to make an evening of eating a time to remember. Employees act like they are not excited about working there. Plates of food should be softly placed on the table and not dropped as if thrown in front of the patron. When refilling water glasses, waitresses should politely make their presence known rather than leaning in front of eaters who are in the middle of conversation. And it doesn't seem too hard to ask that the correct food ordered at a table of four, be the correct food ordered. We all agreed to give the restaurant a second chance soon but if the staff continues to display misery of their job, we'll not come back. read more

The stars say it all honestly. My water came with a giant hair inside of it which wasn't surprising because the servers hair was all over the place and wasn't neat. I'm super disappointed, I got a 12 dollar appetizer and it showed up half an hour later cold. There were 8 tiny shrimp and some burnt, crunchy toast that they called (French bread)...for 12 dollars I could have bought my own baguette and bag of jumbo shrimp. The booth we were satheyt at wasn't clean and had splatters of sauce everywhere, obviously don't deep clean. My waitress was rude and dodgy and I was trying to be nice, she never asked how the food was so we both didn't finish, paid, and left. read more

Ordered two sirloin steaks. Asked that they be cooked Pittsburgh (charred on outside, rare on inside). Came out as rare, no char, only faint grill marks on steak. Sent them back to get fixed. Came back with triple load of pepper and a little darker grill marks. At that point I gave up. Waitress clearly was off her game as she was extremely slow and didn't refill my drink until she brought the check. If I am at a Golden Corral, I don't expect that much, but Outback is supposed to be a STEAKHOUSE. They need to know how to cook steak. read more

When we want a nice, relaxed evening we always seem to end up here! Particularly on Sundays, seeing as we're in Utah and it's never crowded on Sundays. We've gotten in the habit of requesting Joanna as our server, because in the very rare case that a food item doesn't come out perfectly (excellent kitchen, pretty consistent!) she will quickly set the process in motion to get it corrected without hesitation or any awkwardness of seeing if maybe we'll just "eat it anyway" like you find too often in the service industry. We personally don't like a server to hover and she doesn't, but is still attentive to refills or when it's time for dessert or the check, and she is kind. Food wise our die hard favorites are the bloomin onion, coconut shrimp, cheese fries, and sirloin. Their steak seasoning is AMAZING, with a little bit of a spicy kick. Their alcoholic drinks are my favorite in town, the Aussie Rum Punch in particular. And the carrot cake if there's room for dessert! read more

Worst experience ever at an Outback. Party of four (two couples), hostess wanted to seat us at the bar without asking us first. We requested a booth and were told we would have to wait a few minutes while the hostess checked for available tables. I followed her to her stand and I pointed to an empty and set booth. She said we couldn't be seated there because there was no server for that booth. She asked if we wanted a table and I said that we prefer a booth. She said that there would be a longer wait. I told her it's ridiculous that I can see an empty booth surrounded by tables being served and they can't seat us??? She ignored me and turned her back to me. AND THE MANAGER WAS STANDING BESIDE HER!!! We were eventually seated at the empty booth by a different hostess. But wait...there's more. Our server was friendly and attentive but we've had better. We ordered our meals, a ribeye medium rare, sirloin medium well, chicken, and shrimp. My ribeye came out medium well, the sirloin was medium rare. I returned my steak and the manager brought out another that was properly cooked. We didn't return the sirloin. After we finished, the other couple paid the check with a credit card and we wanted to leave a cash tip. We needed change for a $20 but our sever had disappeared and was nowhere to be found. So we flagged down another server and asked for change. SHE HUFFED AND RELUCTANTLY WENT THROUGH HER TILL TO GIVE US CHANGE. Sorry if we inconvenienced you. We left shortly afterwards. We are in town for the girls softball tournament and were hungry for a nice dinner! Back home our restaurants are only open for outdoor dining experiences in parking lots so we were excited to dine in! We decided on Outback and my daughter looked it up online but found the outback to only be getting 2 stars! We were hesitant to say the least but decided to try! IM SO GLAD WE DID! It was great! We have gone to Outback many times and have usually enjoyed it. Usually a reliably good steak. Tonight, we got our salads after our main and after we had to point out that we didn't get them. Someone finally came out with them and offered to sub them with another side if we chose but we went ahead and took them. They had about 2 teaspoons of dressing. He asked if there was anything else he could do. I asked for more dressing. Never got it. I got the 6 oz filet and probably 1/3 of it was fat. Outback is a chain restaurant that has pretty much the same menu at every location. The food is pretty standard at every location. The biggest draw or detraction from any individual location is the friendliness and knowledge of the employees. They were pretty standard here. Not bad but certainly nothing worth going out of the way for. The food was good and the location was clean enough. All in all I have had the same experience at every location I have been to and is one of the reasons I like eating at one-off places as often as possible. Ever since we started our traditional treks out to Brian Head Resort, we've stopping into this Outback for dinner before the drive back to Las Vegas. Conveniently located right off of the Interstate 15, you can see it's trademark teal color and bright red lettering calling your name to sink your teeth into some juicy steaks and the ever so famous, onion blossom! Just like tradition, we defaulted to having our dinner here on our way back home from Brian Head. Our first choice was closing early, so we decided to go for steaks. Don't feel bad Outback, but you weren't our first choice, but stick around a while and you'll find out how happy and satisfies we were leaving this specific Outback Steakhouse! When we arrived, we proceeded to do our check-ins and were greeted very pleasantly with the Outback staff and hostess holding the doors open for us with smiles and gladly directed us to a booth in the back. It may just be me, but folks out in St. George love to stare. Rebecca was our server for the evening of Christmas Eve and she introduced herself with a smile and got to know us a little bit before taking our drink orders. Rebecca took our orders with a smile and jokes here and there to brighten up our experience. She allowed the ladies to order first: 2 Victoria cut filet mignons, 1 with horseradish crust and baked potato and the other with garlic mashed potatoes (pictured). I ordered the full rack of the ribs with baked potato loaded with sour cream, chives, and butter. My friend ordered their Outback Special. Another server came and brought out onion blossom and Rebecca commented saying that "that was her boy" and they seemed to work well together; like a team! We received our food after a kind of a long wait, but it was expected because of the large groups of families, and the business of those having family dinners in Christmas Eve. We didn't complain and this isn't a complaint either :) I enjoyed the flavor of their ribs dipping them unbridled extra BBQ sauce they provided. I got to try the Victoria cut filet and I can't even begin to put words together to say how juicy and tender it was! Perfect! I've had greater steaks, but Outback delivers their own flavor and style that I know I can depend on. Not only was Rebecca very helpful and attentive, she always managed to joke around and keep us entertained. You can definitely tell the fake from the real when it comes to servers! We were enjoying our dinner experience so much that we even stayed to have dessert! Their carrot cake and vanilla ice cream went well together. Now, mind you it isn't something spectacular, but it tasted good! Brought the family in, could not locate the bar visually, had to ask the hostess where it was. When she pointed, I didn't see a bar, had to have her walk me to it. No visible bar. Weird, but I am not a drinker. Had to ask about beer, had to listen to the bar maid explain them as there was no visible products at all. Ordered appetizer while waiting for food, there was a panic when I went to leave the secret bar area, insisting on payment for drinks and tiny food (which hadn't even arrived yet). Quite clumsy, but I pressed on so as not to ruin my mood over this nonsense. Things went fine until the food arrived. Sirloin was ok, not great. I asked for worcestershire sauce, the waitress turned to a huge table of people and began to take their order. I sat and patiently waited for my sauce to arrive. It took 8-10 minutes. Disappointing. Full order of ribs were minuscule, but tasty. Potato was good. Salad was delicious, the ranch had a kick to it which i was not expecting, but happy to discover. *I am not a salad buff, so take this comment with a grain of salt. Salmon was good, but pricy. This review is for the meal we had on 7/10/2013 that was absolutely abysmal at Outback - St. George Order #28513757. I had just come out of the hospital for Cancer Surgery and my Wife and I were both starving on the way home. I didn't really want her to start cooking (she had been by my side all day and was probably just as tired as I was) so we decided to splurge and order Outback to go. My 18 oz. Porterhouse was overcooked to the point of being dry and tough to chew. Her "Ribs & Chicken on the Barbie" was terrible; it was clear the chicken had been sitting in water or broth and then heated up before being put in the container. The ribs were tiny and had NO meat on them. The Aussie Fries and Bushman Mushrooms were WET! The meal was still not ready when went to pick it up, so it's not like it was sitting around waiting for us, and we live less than 1 mile from this Outback. Overall this was a surprisingly BAD and very disappointing experience, not to mention a waste of $66.75 especially when you consider this was the first thing I'd had to eat in almost 48 hours. We've been to this Outback once or twice a month for the last 6 months and frankly the meals are inconsistent and the quality control is questionable. Exterior: at a plaza with other food and stores. Seems like a tourist area because tourist bus was there and I somehow wasn't the only asian there. Outside didn't look too fancy at all. Interior: seems clean and spacious but a bit too dark. Service: I yelped the place before hand and everyone said there was bad service. He was there to ask how our meal was and to refill water. Really nice. Food: Food seem to be hit or miss. Potato soup was meh. Not creamy or anything. Kinda watery texture. Tasted a bit salty though and the melted cheese on it didn't go well. 12 Oz ribeye was delicious. Perfectly medium rare as asked. Tasted good. My sides for it was late but that's OK. The mashed potatoe was a bit flavorless though. The sautéed mushroom was cold. Was it suppose to be like that? Tasted the red wine added to it but was a soso side. Sirloin 11 Oz was soso. Yes it was medium rare but it was not soft at all. Kind of rough and chewy. Side soup was soso. Sweet potatoe side was too sweet. It was basically sweet potato with sugar added. Sesame salad was ok. Well I made reservations for 4m on Saturday,we showed up a bit early,I had asked to sit up front,I was told if I showed up for my reservations on time we could have sat were I wanted! WOW REALLY. It took 5 minutes to get seated the line was out the door behind me. So I tried again and said [as I pointed to the both I wanted] can we sit there,so we did. My husband ordered 2 lobster tails and a baked potato. WOW AGAIN, $27.99foR two 4oz Lobster tails an a baked potato! WTF.
