Going to Outback Steak House used to be a special dinner experience. Have eaten here many times in the past and had super good dinners. Not this time, It's all gone downhill. We arrived around 4:00 PM. Not a busy time for them. Sat in the bar area at a dirty table. The waitstaff didn't seem too eager to get it cleaned. Practically had to ask one of them to get it done. Our main entree took quite sometime before it arrived. While my wife's fillet was what you'd expect for $30 plus dollars, my top sirloin was really tough. Gave my jaw a workout. Have had more tender steaks at Applebees. Virtually no visits from waitstaff while we ate our dinner. Really poor attentiveness. Will not be returning to this Outback Steak House. read more

Sat outside whick was great. Service was good but took awhile to get Appetizer. Tried the bloomin chicken which is a chicken breast pounded down and coated in the bloomin onion mix. It was good but doubt i would have it again. My wifes petite was good. Added fried shrimp which were good but the cocktail sauce lacked zing. Took my family here after trip to mall and we were very disappointed in the state of this restaurant. The floors were greasy/dirty all over, small pieces of napkins/straw wrappers lying on the floor. Overall just felt dirty and unhygienic. Food was average. read more

The Wife and I were scheming and planning for Valentine's Day for a week or so. You have to, it's survival of the fittest out there if you want a table at any respectable restaurant. Having scored a major gift card for Outback a while back we decided to unleash that beast for Valentines. But wait! Everyone and their inbred third cousin will be heading to an Outback Steak House, how in the world will we get in? Thus the planning came together, like Eisenhower in the hours before D-Day we made sure that our plan would work. We would leave early, earlier than any expects, drop the Tax Deduction off at his Grandmother's, double back to Walgreens to pick up a prescription and then come in for Fourth Plain, through the eastern parking area (they never would expect us from the east!) and we will bushwhack them using Sears for cover! As we made our end run around Sears and then skillfully finding a hidden parking area from the front door we made a dead run for the front noticing some advance troops have beat us there, but we considered it a victory with just a 25 minute wait. It all happened just like Eisenhower planned it, but with slightly less bloodshed than in '44. Outback always has good food; their corporate model is flawless, so for the food alone you bag three stars. But wait! There's more! What really capped our Valentine's dinner was our server, Jacob. He more like a friend serving you dinner in his home (except for that whole paying for it thing). We started with drinks, the Wife ordered a Wallaby-darned (peach frozen drink) which is like candy and I can see how one could get completely hammered on a few. Me, being the teetotaler of the family had, iced tea. A Caesar Salad for me, a House Salad for her... trip after trip Jacob arrived with a smile. Pleasantly stuffed with rib eye steak, tenderloin, shrimp, fries, veggies and bread we settled the bill and waddled out of the place hearing as we walked by the hostess stand that the wait was now 45-55 minutes. YES! Planning and execution can make the difference on Valentine's Day. For us it was a great time and a good meal. For Jacob it was over 20% tip and a fourth star on this review. Win-win! read more

Not a great trip for dinner this time! Server seemed overwhelmed with the amount of business in his section. Took 20 minutes to simply take our order. He did bring drink refills, but a little too long in between. Drinks would sit empty for a little while. This is my favorite local steakhouse in Vancouver. Their steaks are far better than Black Angus in my opinion. The Victoria's 9 oz filet, medium rare - TT&J - Tasty, Tender &Juicy! But, my favorite item they serve is their Caesar Salad. Or more correctly, their Caesar Salad Dressing. Really garlicky and creamy. The best I've had that wasn't prepared table side. Back when I was eating such things, The Bloomin' Onion couldn't be beat! Nowadays I'm low carving it so that's out. What's in is their grilled shrimp on the barbie, Caesar salad and steamed broccoli. Or the 6 oz Victoria's filet. Service at times can be a bit sketchy, especially if it's a busy weekend night. But I understand. When we had a terrible experience one time (they didn't call or page us and we'd waited 45 minutes) the manager comped our entire meal. You can't argue with hat! That's GREAT customer service! Everything was good even after we picked up our order 40 Mins late. Here's what we got: A blooming onion - very well seasoned! It got a little soggy from the take out container but 5 mins in the air fryer and problem solved. Filet mignon - so tender and seasoned Mashed potato's - add garlic butter to these and they are perfect! Loaded mashed potato's Full rack of ribs w/fries - the ribs were so tender and fell off the bone. The fries are seasoned to perfection. For the price of the food, not worth it at all. I ordered steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I could've gotten a better frozen meal at Denny's for a 1/3 of the price. The mashed potatoes were very watery, the asparagus still had the white ends on them...the part that's practically inedible unless you feel like gnawing on a fibrous stick. Stopped in for lunch and had a pleasant experience. If you have been reading my reviews (lets be honest, why wouldn't you?) then are intelligent and have great taste :) You should also be painfully aware that I loathe middle of the road chain restaurants. That said, I had a good meal here. Jacob, my server, was really outstanding and seemed to make the the food taste better. I love the current recession so much! 2-1/2 stars? Why the hell am I on Yelp if I don't crave danger? We haven't been to an Outback since Medford so decided to give it a try. Rising up out of the darkness, we saw the restaurant lights in the distance, as if growing out of the mall. Saturday night before Christmas? The place looked like a scene from Lord of the Rings. Greeting was adequate. Wait was only about 10 minutes. The person who seated us and our server were both cool. The drinks did take a moment too long, but nothing to write home about. Salads were good and out quickly. Bread took a bit longer. Surprisingly, entrees arrived at perfect time. I don't often order steak, but we both agreed these were absolutely delicious. Both were one level underdone from what we asked but we didn't mind. Everything was brought out by runners. We didn't see much of our server Natalia after ordering but she did come back to check on us. She also handled our payment efficiently without annoying delay. Very Dissapointed with food selections. My Server was Great , polite and frienedly , prompt with my drink etc. However Its 3pm on Good Friday afternoon wanted to celebrate and ordered the Salmon dinner with loaded baked potatoe, and salad, which took about 10 , 15min, cuz I finished my salad , bread and wine. Waiter comes with salmon on plate and that its! says sorry we are out of baked potaoes! I said on a holiday weekend? Friday nite? supposedly oven is broken.. I did not want fries or rice etc.. My Problem is he should have told me BEFORE he brought the salmon! I would have changed my order to chicken and pasta or something else. $27.00 for dinner and no baked potatoe. i still tipped 20percent--it wasnt the waiter fault. I should have stayed home. Started with drinks ..the table bread was ehh.. a little cold and old.. but we were not discouraged.. we then moved right into dinner..the wait was less than half hour.. considering the choice(yes size) in steaks we forewent' the appetizers.. and didn't even end up putting a nick in our sides.. Wise choices and well worth it! Our steaks were juicy and savory! As for dessert.. we referred back to our drinks__ deLuscious! I did ask what happened when places wanted to reward your patronage on your birthday with a free drink or dessert.. you know that "thank you" gesture businesses used to give for chosing to dine with them on your special day.. uhhh long gone I suppose.. I'd give this a negative if I could. I've been to crappy service (or lack thereof) places before but this Outback just gets worse over time. We got seated quickly, but that's where it ended... really really fast! Over five minutes to be told "I'll be with your shortly" and another five minutes before the manager came over and asked if everything was alright. What a stupid question. Oh wait, the only reason she asked was because we were getting up to leave. Wow! She's an observant manager! So, we didn't get water, we sure as heck didn't get food but we did get crappy service. We came to escape the 95 degree heat - at 5, they were light to moderately busy. When we walked in we were greeted with a nice wave of AC - unfortunately it ended at the host station and servers were walking around in long sleeve shirts literally dripping in sweat. When we were sat, we asked if they had the special menu insert, and we were told they didn't have one. Half way thru our meal, a couple next to us were given the special menu - I felt like we were in the twilight zone. My husbands drink order was very late. We had to remind them a couple times to grab it from the bar. The second time the bartender ended up bringing it over to our booth himself. Our food took awhile - the restaurant was about 1/2 full and no huge parties in sight. My steak came out super rare and just barely warm. My husband and I both ordered medium rare and his was way over cooked - mine was borderline undercooked for healthy consumption. They were sweet about remaking it and ended up bringing me an entire new plate of broccoli and mashed potatoes. The food runner dropped the ball when he asked us what we needed (steak sauce, butter, and refills of water) and then never returned. Our server came back and asked if we needed anything but since we just asked the food runner, we didn't mention it - it never came and then our server was assigned another 3 tables. Our waters weren't refilled again until the manager brought me my new steak, after our table had finished their meal. Overall the food was good. The service was a little sub par. Our server was super nice but the team as a whole (kitchen, wait staff, food runners, etc) just need to work more cohesively. I certainly don't blame the server for everything - there's only so much within his control. Nearly $100 bill and we were relatively underwhelmed. When we mentioned our displeasure with management she was sweet to extend us a discount on our food bill - I'm appreciative she handled it well and we will give them another shot in the future. For 1 it took us 2 hours to get food. 1 hour waiting in the lobby (we were told 15 to 20 minutes wait and would had left if we knew it would be longer) then another hour to get food that was mediocre at best. 2 The worst part was that after that 2 hours of waiting for food and our kids losing their minds because they are hungry (and yes we got apps to hold them over) my husband's medium rare steak was well done. We were done eating by the time they brought his boxed up steak out. Our server was fine and knew we were not happy but it wasn't his fault. The rest of the food was ok. The average 3 star rating is well deserved. You know it's bad when restaurant people feel the need to write a review to warn people. Instead of wasting your money here you should take it to Black Angus Steakhouse where it might be ugly as hell but at least you will get a properly cooked steak, decent sides and all at a very comparable. read more

Childish rude aggressive employees. I ate lunch here today, and had a mediocre burger for far too much money. I swear, it tasted like I spent $3 on it at burgerking. The employees were loudly shouting to each other and making filthy jokes unsuitable for the workplace. But the location was convenient, and it wasn't completely disgusting, so I held my tongue, paid my bill, and left. Later tonite, I found myself needing cardboard boxes at 10pm, and remembered that I saw a gigantic stack of them outside of the restaurant that afternoon. Enough that they were spilling out of the dumpster. So, I hopped in my car, and went to go and fetch some. Nobody at the mall has ever had a problem with me taking boxes. No business in general has ever had a problem with it. BUT tonite, an outback employee sat outside his car, staring me down very aggressively in a clear attempt to be intimidating. I was very confused, but figured he might have been in a bad mood, and not intending to stare me down. Perhaps I was mistaken. But having collected my boxes and put them into my car under their very attentive eyes, that employee and one other PEELED off in their truck, and security came in behind me, parking behind my car. They told me that someone had contacted them about dangerous behavior. You can imagine the annoyance on the security guard's face when he saw nothing but a small woman recycling boxes. He told me in a friendly manner to be on my way, and that everything was fine. As I pulled out of the mall with my boxes, the two employees found it necessary to circle back, drive in front of me, and flip me off before peeling off again. This is unacceptable behavior. Even if they thought I was doing something shady at first, they could clearly see I was just getting boxes. After seeing me come out, what need was there to be aggressive? These two should be ashamed of themselves. If a manager is reading this, the two employees were a blonde man, and a curvy woman with curly dark hair. You might want to rethink who is representing your business. read more

The one star is because we like the food and that's it. We have been going to this Outback Steakhouse location ever since it opened. It's almost always been a great place to go when you need to be at the mall but don't want crappy mall food. We used to have great service here until recently. Over the last few years while the food remains good and consistent, the service has gone waaaaay downhill. The last four times we have been here have been horrible. We are always waiting an obscene amount of time to be greeted by our servers, waiting forever for drinks, having our food come out wrong....the list keeps building. One time, my husband had to run our drinks from the bar. We waited THAT long that he went up to the bartender himself and asked for the drinks. Another time, we completed our entire visit via the table tablets (ordered our apps, drinks, food AND paid). Today was no exception. It took awhile before our server acknowledged us. The butter that comes with the complimentary bread was frozen when it came out. Our apps arrived about 10 minutes before our drinks (the excuse was that there was only one bartender; the restaurant was not that busy at the time). One app was wrong and had to be sent back, and we waited another 15 minutes for the correct food to make it out. The only positive today was that the manager came over twice to apologize and let us know that our food was comped entirely, and we were only responsible for our beverages. I'm not sure how many more times we can deal with this. And it's a bummer because this used to be a great place to go for a nice casual meal. read more

Well, what can I say ? Outback's are standard, when traveling you most of the time know what to expect, but sometimes one can be surprised! For starters, I got the appetizer quicker than the glass of wine I had ordered at the same time. Ok, that was corrected ! Now, a young waitress lost control of the tray she was carrying and the food ended up on the floor and in my lap. Not what I had hoped for but accidents due happen and she was almost in tears. Folks came and cleaned up the mess and ask if she got something on me. Confirming that indeed some of the food landed in my lap, a wet towel was handed to me. I guess, I'm luck it was not dry That was it, nothing more nothing less, not even as much as an offer to pay for the cleaning or anything else I did feel sorry for the waitress but was wondering if that is the way to treat a customer At least offer to pay for the cleaning and make me feel or think that you care ! read more

We went tonight to eat and the new guy was doing such a rocking job as our waiter and the food was so fresh and delish. As we are leaving there was an issue with our bank so Sarah came out and talked with us. She told us since we had just gotten married our dinner was on the house! My wife and I haven't been to outback for a good 5 to 7 years, but saw the unlimited shrimp commercial and thought let's give it a try. Service was mediocre, restaurant was dirty, and each refill of shrimp was inconsistently prepared. They brought us our bill even when we wanted to order more, it felt like they were pushing us out. So this was the first time In about 15 years I had been to an outback. Last one was in Beaverton. My wife wanted steak so we came in. I'd like to give this 3 stars because of the service, but because the food was so bad, I left it at 2. My wife ordered the Filet Minion and I ordered a rack of ribs with fries. My wife ordered it medium well. When she got her plate, the steak looked like a burnt piece of toast. How the cook felt that was an acceptable steak to send out was beyond us, but they did anyway. My fries also were horrible. They put so much Pepper and seasoning salt on the fries that I sneezed every time I tried to eat one and my mouth instantly burned. I ate about 4-5 and couldn't do anymore. This was a good sign they were bad. I'm 6'2 275lbs and we had just worked out, so for me to leave fries there takes a lot! Lol. I showed our server the steak and she agreed it looked horrible and said that looked beyond well done. She took it back. When she returned with a new steak, it was rare. The blood was oozing out onto the plate like a wine sauce. The server apologized again and weir that once again that was not medium well. We told her not to take this one back and we weren't going to be that anal the entire time, so I ate her steak. The manager came out and apologized and took the steak off our bill, which was nice. We're not going to say we'll never be back. The food was lousy this time, but the service was very good. So, for that we'll definitely come back and try again. read more

One star because we like the food, but the service at this location is horrible. Last time we went, we brought our 18-month old daughter with us. It was chaotic, but we were eating after the main dinner rush, so not too bad. Until we met our server. He was garbage, service was disgraceful. When we were trying to order, our server kept turning his head and looking at the table next to us, not even paying attention to us! I had to stop and ask him what his deal was because he was being so rude. Finally got him to focus in on us, and started ordering. I ordered food for my daughter, and then I ordered my steak. And then I ordered the steakhouse mac 'n' cheese. The server then has the nerve to ask me if I shouldn't just order the regular mac 'n' cheese so my little girl can have some, too. Where does he get off telling me what I can and can't order for *myself* just so I can share with *my* daughter? And by the way, she loves their steakhouse mac. Then we waited way too long for our food, which was cold by the time it came out. Our drinks were running low, too. By the time the food had come and the drinks were topped off, our daughter was starting to get antsy. Our server brought out our tab and then disappeared for a looooooooong time. We actually were trying to wave down other servers just so we could get the hell out of there. We get to our car with our leftovers, and my wife looks at me and says, "Hey, where's your steakhouse mac?" And it's at that moment I realize I never received it. Sure enough, it was on the receipt, but we had never received it. I like to think that if our server had been more attentive, we would not have been in such a rush to leave, what with the constantly empty glasses and all, and we might have noticed that half my meal had never been delivered. Took my fiancé here on Valentine's Day. I knew it was going to be busy so I made a reservation. We arrived early and we were told we would be seated closer to our reservation time. To my surprise, they got us seated earlier. I was expecting a small amount of neglect, due to the fact every table was filled with more folks coming in. The service far exceeded expectation. Our server, Jane, did an amazing job at making sure all her tables were serviced and satisfied. Mad props to her for the amazing job on such a busy Valentine's Day. The food was excellent. Of course, we got the bloomin' onion, and for our mains, I ordered the ribeye steak with coconut shrimp and my fiancé ordered the chicken strips. She commented that the chicken was perfectly battered, and the mid rare ribeye did not disappoint (all of which made great leftovers for lunch the day after).
