tl;dr: I had a horrible experience with PCT. It felt like a bait-and-switch. was charged $350 for termite inspection when the home was not in escrow and in spite of me repeating it multiple times, paid the $350 and canceled termite prevention($2300) and wood dry rot treatment ($950). ----------- Escrow on new home closed: 02/26/2021 Looking at yelp reviews, I called Pacific Coast Termite on 03/13/2021 to set up a termite inspection. On being asked about escrow, I mentioned the house was NOT in escrow, and we had just bought the house. The inspector shows up and he's surprised when I tell him the house is not in escrow, and this was supposed to be a free inspection as noted here on their website: https://www.pacificcoasttermite.com/inspection/ He says he'll put in a word and not charge me for the inspection and send me report. He walked me through areas he thinks need fixing (wood fungus, no termites) and tells me about the termite prevention services. I tip him $40 for the work he's put in. I scheduled two appointments: one for termite prevention ($2300) and another for wood replacement and treatment ($950) for a month out. And, I was looking forward to it. A week or so later, I received a bill in the mail for $350. I called to check whether this was a mistake. The lady who took the call was in a hurry and she said I can "just ignore it", with no confirmation about it, and hung up on me. Next week, I called to reschedule the termite treatment to a later date (a week out), and also to confirm that the $350 bill can be ignored. A different lady said, she needs to speak to the supervisor and get back to me. I got a voicemail later that day saying I had to call the inspector to "talk it out" with him about why I was charged $350. I called the inspector, who did not pick up the call and his voicemail box was full. So, I sent him a text message with details. He read and conveniently ignored my message. Next day, I left him a voicemail, but that was ignored too. I had had enough with the constant run around and was done with Pacific Coast Termite. I called the next day and said I'll pay the $350, but I want to cancel the two appointments because I was done. The lady just said, "I'll cancel it for you", and just hung up without another word. I wasn't going to go with "her word" since I'd experienced the "you can just ignore it" suggestion before, and asked my wife to call and confirm cancellation. And, just as I thought, the two appointments weren't cancelled. She was put on hold while they canceled the appointments, but said they don't have a way of sending a confirmation (email/text), and we have to take their word for it. They really need to take a deeper look at their scheduling team and/or customer service. Because of this, I've decided to go with another termite prevention service. read more

Saul H and Pedro came to our house in Sacramento to do termite treatment after we found piles of wood dust and droppings in two rooms. They were very polite, helpful, responsive and completed the work without any disruption or mess. It was more than a month ago and we haven't seen any sign of the termites returning. They did an eco-friendly type treatment--spot treatment on the wood floors inside, and spraying underneath the house--that didn't require tenting or fumigating. We chose this option because we didn't like the idea of chemicals floating around the house. Things started off great with Pacific Coast Termite: their estimator was thorough, knowledgeable and courteous. I had two projects for them at my home- termite treatment for a full basement and pest (squirrel) exclusion from a large attic. I received two bids from them. One for each project. The termite work bid was very clear and complete. The pest exclusion bid was the opposite. It included none of the work specifications the estimator conveyed to me when he was at my home. The work totaled several thousand dollars. I was ready to have them do the work- I considered the prices fair and appropriate. But when I called both the estimator and the office to request a more complete description of work to be performed in the pest proposal two things happened. Or didn't happen. The estimator did not ever return my calls even though he had been very explicit when giving me both his work and cell numbers. The office rep said they did not do any more detail on a pest proposal and did not want to discuss it further. So this has been disappointing and a waste of time dealing with them. And I am of course very suspicious of why a business won't give any written detail on work they would do that was previously detailed by the estimator in a conversation. In my experience that's not how reputable businesses work. read more

I have been a customer of Pacific Coast Termite for several years now, ever since they found (and killed) the termites in my house. Everybody knows that they're in the termite business, but what I learned (much to my delight) is that they also do wood repair, particularly in areas damaged by termites or water. Twice this year, I needed extensive wood repair. Their work was of very high quality, and their staff was highly professional. The only reason I didn't give 'em 5 stars is that one time they scheduled a job for Saturday, but they couldn't start the work because all of the lumber yards were closed that day; they had to come back another day. read more

He made sure we had all the information we needed and he did a great job with the treatment as well. We have tried planet orange in the past and had a terrible experience with people who couldn't even bothered to call us back to answer our questions, but with Pacific Coast they always answered in a timely manner and always answered all of our questions. We hired Pacific Coast termite because we noticed termite damage on two of our window sills. The whole experience we had with the company was great. The folks at the office and the sales guy who came out were very professional. The person Joseph who actually came out to do the treatment did an excellent job and explained things well. He didn't have a ton of experience, but he worked hard and seemed thorough. In addition to the two window sills, it turned out that we also had damage to the frame of our garage door . Christian and Jaime came out and replaced the wood. They did a great job fixing the wood. Our window sills and garage door frame look as good as new. I would highly recommend this company. read more

My wife saw this small pile outside next to the house. It looked like sawdust. Uh-oh... So I called PCT and scheduled an appointment. In the meantime, one of my contractors came by the house, looked at the pile and said it was sand and that what we have is ants, not termites. The PCT inspector came out, crawled under the house and declared us to be termite free. Huzzah! And at no charge... It doesn't get better than that. read more

We are extremely happy with the service of Pacific Coast Termite. Our tenant reported to us that the rental house had a lot termite droppings from the ceiling in April 2018. We did not have much knowledge about termite. We can only count on the internet for information. We found Pacific Coast Termite; they offered us a free Termite inspection; and we received the inspection report with the estimated cost for eliminating the problem via e-mail. We decided to take the expert's recommendation. We had very good result with a two years warranty. Our other tenants in December reported to us our other rental house might have Termite as well; so we had no hesitation to call on Pacific Coast Termite Company. Jeremiah Harris was quick in his response to our needs within days. He was able to do a very detailed explanation and report of what needed to be done to eradicate the problem. They schedule Jaime to do the work in two days; Jaime worked tirelessly from 8:00 to 6:30 PM to take care of it for us on Saturday. They are efficient, polite, extremely thorough, we highly recommend them and their company. We called out Pacific Termite after receiving a $3000 quote from a major exterminator company for termites. We chose Pacific Termite based on reviews and on extermination solutions. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who came. He inspected our home and found that we do not have termites. He gave me tips to prevent termites on entering the home, and he showed me the signs to look for in case they do. He explained to me what we were seeing (old construction residues). I really appreciate his honesty and his educating me. If I ever need pest control, I will call Pacific Termite. Highly recommend! read more

Robert Perez inspector number FR45407 wasn't even respectful enough to take his shoes off to check on termite and got on my bed leaving dust and grass he had on his shoes and on top of that instead of apologizing he was very rude. Terrible experience with them. Our Home Owner's Association recommended we use Pacific Coast for some light, external wood repairs and I chose them based off of that recommendation. From the HOA work outlined, Pacific Coast quoted me a price of $1200 for everything. Their first service visit was in February and they had two men working for less than an hour. I called the office to understand why ~2 hours of work and some small wood pieces cost $1200. They said they would send someone out to inspect the work but they also still wanted payment immediately. The inspector guy came out and said they missed a bit of work under a window. So another worker came out in March and it took him less than 30 minutes to replace a small piece of wood. The office called again shortly after to ask for payment, and I noted that I still didn't understand why the price was so high and resisted paying them at that time. Finally at the end of March the inspector guy came out again and found that they had not done half the work in the original spec from the HOA. So some guys came out again in April and finally completed the other half of the work we had discussed in February. I then paid the full amount as we had discussed per the original estimate. We had a problem with termites last year and scheduled a follow up inspection before our 1-year warranty expired. Our technician, Jack, arrived on-time for his inspection. He was professional, courteous and most of all, very thorough. He discovered a few areas of new activity and explained them to me in a very easy-to-understand manner. We scheduled a return visit, during which Jack treated all of the effected areas with the same level of professionalism, thoroughness and care as his previous visit. I wanted to give Jack TEN STARS, but Yelp only allows 5 LOL. As my wife remarked, we lucked out with Jason, our tech. He explained what he was doing, was upbeat and personable, and went the extra mile. He knew about each of the chemicals he was using and even showed us a termite. No smell from the chemicals and the chemicals were very safe types. Before the work was done I had multiple questions of Rob the inspector after he left and he got back to me and explained things. While he was here he also was very personable and straightforward and pointed out several things, like evidence of rat movements, that I had not noticed. After being informed my wife and I found another spot to be treated. I like the warrantee since as we putter around and find something else we can call them back. read more

We contacted Pacific Coast Termite about 10 years ago because we did NOT want to have our house tented. We did have termites and PCT came and treated them with Orange Oil and we were assured the termites were gone. We signed up for a yearly service for $400 per year and we could call and have someone come to check as many times as necessary. I think if I remember correctly that only once did they treat for termites again just to be on the safe side. We had someone come October of 2021 and NO termites according to the report, just dry rot on our eaves which we planned to take care of. So we sold our house and our agent tried to get a termite report from the company with no response whatsoever. The buyer had their own termite company come and we are infested with termites under the house on the floorboards under the dining room I think they said. We are going to have to credit the buyer with $6,000 plus to take care of the problem after we move. So for 10 years, more or less we have paid $400 per year to keep the termites in check and got screwed by the company. Actually they should be paying for the termite work and I know that isn't going to happen so I would NEVER EVER recommend this company. I am an electrical and general building contractor for 45 years. I am not qualified or licensed to deal with the chemicals that are required to attack a termite infestation so I called Pacific Coast Termite. They provided me with pictures from their cell phone from my attic and underneath the house showing me a severe termite infestation. Knowing my background, they were willing to work with me with regard to price and dry rot repair. Their work was impeccable.
