I came here for a quick bite. I wanted sometime simple and fast, and this place sounded good. The plaza is huge, and it's crowded, but luckily I was able to find a parking spot. Service was quick. Yum spot for jjajangmyun, jjampong, and tangsuyuk. Jjajangmyun is SO cheap. It's rare to find anything under $12 that's big enough to share, but this is the most solid spot. Seating is good for smaller groups but it's so nice to grab a few bowls and share with a group! Food comes out super fast and the ahjummas working are all so nice. read more

I had a mad craving for jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk but I wanted a place that offers outdoor seating because I had my fur child with me. I frequent this plaza but this was my first time here and suffice to say I'll be back anytime I need a quick fix. Service was quick and efficient with both indoor and ample outdoor seating (dog friendly). The jajangmyeon was solid and the consistency and chewiness of the noodles were some of the best I've ever had. Their tangsuyuk had the perfect crunch (I think they use potato starch which makes the world of a difference) and the pork was tender and not dry at all. Jjampong is spicy and has good umami flavor. The best dish here is tang su yuk, deep fried pork with sweet and sour sauce. The batter is made with rich flour so you get sticky and chewy texture which is similar to Guabalo. Not much of service as everything is self served. Not sure about the 3 star rating, more like 4/5. Paik's is a multi site chain serving up dongbei (northwestern) koreanized chinese goodies with very consistent quality control. I've eaten here about 3 times and it was pretty much exact all 3 times, good chinese food served up fast and neat. Happy we got to finally try this restaurant after watching the owner as a judge on the Korean cooking series on Netflix. The set up of this restaurant is like cafeteria style. Order at the counter and pay. Take a seat at an open table to wait for your pager to be called. When your order is ready, you pick up your food tray. We got the spicy chili black bean noodles and crispy sweet and sour pork. The portions are pretty big. Good enough for two of us to share and take home some pork. Walking in youre promptly greeted, but the cashier talks through a microphone. Everything is super loud. It's useful because you can sit outside and still hear when your order is ready, but it does affect the ambiance of the restaurant. I order the spicy seafood noodles extra spicy and the deep fried pork. The food came quickly and comes out as it finishes. I have to say, this is one of the better seafood noodles I've had. The broth has seafood essence, good amount of heat, and the noodles are pleasantly chewy. The deep fried pork came with a thick sweet and sour sauce. The batter is unique. It has fluffy white parts to it while remaining crispy. My only complaint is that the pork is a little dry. Both the dishes came with yellow pickled radish. Food was 2 stars but Service was horrendous. The cashier/owner never smiled, was rude and treated her customers hurriedly. She turned away at least 5 customers a few minutes before closing time that my party and I had to check the door as to what time they close. We felt bad for people already in line and had to be turned away. We were going to order another dish and were turned away and we were existing customers! Never seen anything like it. Usually, restaurants would accommodate those who came in the door before close time. The owner has no clue that the only reason she exists is because of the customers. I understand if she has an appointment somewhere and want to close shop exactly on time, then she should have had a sign or just close the door. But to have folks in line then tell them she is closed was plain wrong. Oh well, they do reserve the right to do whatever but definitely the customer service here is Zero. Food is blahh. The noodles we ordered were so so. We were just nostalgic and craved Jjangmyeon and Jjampong we used to eat at Peking China in Downey. Shrimp dish was okay. For jjajangmyeon, go for it. Reasonable price, standard Korean-style for this staple. A little skimpy on the noodles though, definitely could have used a bit more, especially with all the sauce they drown the noodles in. We also got the fried dumplings, which were very crispy, perfectly fried. But, DO NOT get the chili shrimp. That was just so disappointing. First, it was like one of those instagram vs reality moments. We definitely did not get what was pictured. Instead, we got these sad pieces of shrimp with what tasted like Siracha sauce lightly smeared on them, as if they had run out of sauce and decided to just rub whatever was left on them. Hard pass on this one. Parking is tight. This plaza is just ALWAYS busy, so you'll probably be circling a bit if it's primetime. i have been going to Paik's Noodle for yearsss. we ordered what we usually get, which is a black bean noodle, sweet and sour pork, and chili shrimp. the food is great and the workers get the orders out pretty quickly. it's not noisy to eat inside, and you can also eat outside. they also offer free filtered water. however, be careful when you eat the food! my cousin was eating a chili shrimp but ended up finding a long strand of hair in it. she thought it was a small hair, but when she pulled it, it was definitely from a worker who had long hair. read more

The pork was light and did not taste oily along with the sweet and sour sauce. The black bean noodles were also good! There are seating outside for people, but we decided to sit inside the restaurant since it was such a hot day. We simply wanted some jajangmyeon since we weren't too hungry. We also got tangsuyuk, but I have been craving jajangmyeon, so I mostly had that. We ordered and sat down while waiting for our number to be called to pick up the food on the trays. The food was generally tasty and the restaurant was pretty clean. It was not too surprising but a slight bummer that we had to pay 50cents for a small togo-box. However, they had water purifier for dine-in customers which I appreciated. I came to this plaza for Súp, but the wait is going to be an hour. So I found this place next to it. The restaurant is small, with self serve. The menu only have about 10 items, so it was easy for me to decide. I ordered the 1A which is seafood noodle soup, and looked around and see almost everyone got the deep fried pork so I ordered one too. It was amazing noodle soup. I am noodle fanatic so I had noodle soups from different cuisines and this one definitely represented. The broth was flavorful, but I want to caution those who have a low tolerance for spicy food. The menu said extra spicy and they weren't kidding. But the spicy flavor didn't cover up the seafood flavor, and the noodle has a good texture. The deep fried pork was also very, very good. It was coated in potato starch to increase the crispyness outside, and inside the pork is tender. It comes with a bowl of sweet and sour sauce on the side, which is a smart move. Tbh I didn't like the sauce, as sweet and sour pork is a classic Chinese dish and the sauce is very different than this one. But I feel I shouldn't judge the sauce if I never tasted the Korean version before, and that's why I didn't take any point off for the sauce. I ordered their black bean noodle dish which I was hesitant to order it at first because I didn't think it would work well with the noodles but I am so glad I ordered it. It really exceeded my expectations. The black bean sauce was so so good I didn't expect to like the sauce so much it's kind of sweet and savory kind of like a sukiyaki soy sauce, that's kind of what it reminds me of. The sauce is mixed with grilled onions, lots of pieces of pork and mushrooms. The noodles was also amazing! They are super soft kind of dough-like, it tasted homemade! I wish I knew where I could get noodles like theirs because it was so good. Overall I highly recommend this place! I am for sure coming back here again I want to try some of their other dishes.
