First time at new owner's place. Sat at bar and had excellent service. Our app of stuffed mushrooms was very good. Partner had surf and turf (steak and 2 stuffed shrimp). She loved it! We were warmly greeted by Derek upon our arrival. We chose to sit at the bar, and enjoyed some cocktails crafted by the fun, professional, and creative Krista. My husband was thrilled with his Prime Rib, which he said was cooked perfectly. My daughter enjoyed her Blackened Salmon over a Caesar Salad, and I can't rave enough about the Seafood Casserole. The service from host, waitress, to Manager was above & beyond. Exceptionally friendly which is refreshing. It was packed on a Saturday night & they were all happily hustling. Tasty down home comfort food. Very reasonably priced. The ambience was much brighter than I imagined & our dinner was experience was a nice surprise. Hello, well, returned to the ole "country inn" restaurant. Nice make over, very airly, open feel. First time here, so decided on "creamy cajun pasta Alfredo.... With chicken. And " shrimp mosombique. In both dishes sauces were perfectly balanced, and ingredients very fresh and in abundance, 10 large shrimp.... With tails removed!! Warm great little buns, and our server, Mariah, was great! After reading the reviews, my wife and I concluded the problems with the food and service have been inconsistency. Our experience in our two visits this year has been that the food and service were good and worth our return. The decor was very comfortable, but the overall ambiance had been ruined by the selection of piped-in music played at an unnecessarily high volume. The playlist was more appropriate for a party of the wait staff and not the middle-aged customers. We were pleasantly surprised today at our December luncheon that Christmas music was being played at a volume that enabled us to converse in normal tones. We will return, especially if the Palmer River Grill follows the lead of other thoughtful customer-friendly restaurants by reserving a music-free section or room for people who just want to enjoy their food and conversation. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Ordered the chicken and waffles 1st. The waffle was so burnt that I had to send it back. They brought me another order, and the waffle was raw. The chicken are chicken tenders ( far cries from sourhern chicken and waffles) I told my waiter I couldn't eat this it's not good, it was not palatable. I am in no way fussy, or I never ever send anything back. I hate doing that. He proceeded to take it off The table and charged me for it!!! after I didn't even touch, didn't offer any dessert anything. I had the worst experience there. I didn't want to like this place. I don't love the atmosphere. It just seems so big. But everything I have gotten here has been perfectly cooked, and service is always helpful and attentive. To be fair, I usually order the swordfish as a main, and every time I've gotten it, it has great grill marks and is super tender. The fish always fresh. Any flaw will come through in a simply grilled piece of fish, but there were none. Last night we ordered the Rhode Island style calamari. The rings were so big and breading seemed clunky, but again, perfectly tender. And honestly, the food is reasonably priced for what you're getting. I'm always happy to come here. Maybe I'll try other things on the menu, but when you find something good, it can be really hard to deviate. read more

He forgot my drink when we first ordered. 2. he never brought bread to the table we had to ask for it. 3. he forgot one of my party's appetizer. 4. when we ordered our entrees we had 2 sides so my wife asked if salad was considered a side he said yes so 3 of the party ordered a salad. We when the bill came we saw that we were charged an additional $3.00 per salad. We had no problem paying the additional charge, but would have appreciated being told that there would be an additional fee for a side salad.. Ps if you order dessert you will very disappointed in the size of cake you get for $7.00 dollars read more

Visited Palmer River Grill today with my daughter. I had the soup of the day my daughter had clam chowder. Both were well stocked and very good. We only got appetizers for our meal, boneless chicken and mussels. Food was very good, the waitress Jen lacked in customer care. She never asked if we wanted bread, never told us what the specials were. We overheard another waitress repeat them and if we would ok known our choices would of been different, she failed to check on us only to ask if we needed a box. Never asked or heard the dessert menu, she just brought our check. As for the food, I definitely be back, as for Hen I'd ask to sit somewhere else. read more

Very nicely decorated place and very comfortable. There are both booths and tables to accommodate many parties, and a fireplace for atmosphere. The food is delicious! Great menu choices of seafood, steaks and pastas, sandwiches and appetizers. Tonight there were 4 of us, all ordering different meals and each one was awesome. They did have some specials besides the regular menu. Our server ZOE was fantastic!! Very efficient and friendly and didn't forget a thing!! My review is mixed. Two visits, both excursions for take-out.Both orders were taken pleasantly and accurately. Second time I waited on phone a few minutes but it was readily apparent they were slammed. My review is solely about the food. My first visit I ordered chicken, Prociutto and eggplant with pasta. It was incredible, everything done correctly and in a light tomato sauce. Spouse ordered Prime Rib, an incredible hunk of perfectly done meat, tender and with all that ring of fat removed. We each had two meals with it with pasta left over. This MONDAY we tried again, with different orders. Spouse had Bay Scallop Roll which was characterized as good, nothing special. I had a meatball sandwich and fries. I'd never get it again. Bread soggy and deteriorated, meatballs large, cut chunks of mainly bread crumbs. The chicken tenders were fine for the three year old, the Tuisset Burger and the Portabello sandwich were well received. As I write I see I was the only one unhappy who didn't finish. So, the takeaway, I'll never get meatballs there again, I'll get one of their many meals. Of course takeout on a large scale won't compare with in person dining but.... I will return for another try and would be surprised if I couldn't add a star or two then. read more

First time here. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I was bummed that they were out of prime rib by 6:30 (take note). I ended up having the Ribeye which was cooked perfectly at medium rare+ and seasoned well. It was a little thin, but matched up to the price they asked for it, so all good. The mashed potatoes were a little thin and looked and tasted like the instant kind you get out of a box. They were ok, just not what I expected. My date had the salmon which she liked. Super yummy, always. I haven't had a dish I haven't liked!!! Typically, I go for the chicken/pasta dishes. The Sorrentina Chicken in particular, is outstanding. The sauce on it is to die for, and I typically even ask for extra. The Island Chicken is also always phenomenal with veggies and mashed potato's. All of the starters we've tried have been great, the Mozzerella Triangles are always great. Also, they have great and large Sangria's. Wow! Just wow! If you ever came here when it was the Country Inn, when you walk in here now it is totally unrecognizable! The ownership did an amazing job of renovating the inside. Modern, spacious and chill. The lounge area is awesome. Leather couches and chairs, fireplace, big screen TV's and a good size bar. They do not have a Facebook page as of this review but they do have a web site that provides their menu, hours, etc. It does not give an option for online reservations though. Hopefully that is something they add. I couldn't have asked for a better 1st time experience here. The staff and our waitress (Anna I believe) were terrific. Very personable and friendly. Anna was on point and the bus staff were also very attentive. The menu has something for everyone too. I honestly had the worst time deciding! I had the Cajun Alfredo w/penne pasta and grilled chicken. The portion was huge and the dish was excellent. Huge chunks of broccoli, mushrooms and red peppers. The Cajun Alfredo has just the right balance of consistency and spice. This has been a great experience and let me tell you the desserts are ridiculous (that is meant in the best way possible). So if you want a great service experience, then take a trio to flavortown at the Palmer River Grille! You won't regret it and I for sure will be back! read more

Enjoyed a lovely lunch on Friday. Our server, Amy, was so attentive and kind. We were chatting and took a while with our order, she was so patient. Our appetizers were delicious, calamari Rhode Island style and shrimp cocktail. Both were so tender and tasty. I enjoyed my grilled chicken sandwich very much. This is such a lovely place to go, the menu offers something for everyone! Our drinks were great as well. I've enjoyed meals at all three of the "Grilles" and have never been disappointed. I have eaten pork and little necks at many many restaurants in the area and the sauce that this place has is the best around without a close second. To include cup of chowder. Ask for bread felt like we were pulling teeth. Waitstaff had attitude which is not our fault nor is this person having table of twelve.
