5-star service. You don't see that every day from a Chinese restaurant. We booked a private room here for 20+ guests. The restaurant was very accommodating with our changing headcount and menu. They were also very flexible with menu changes on the night of the event. The servers were friendly, and food came out fast. We ordered: -ginger fish with scallion -honey walnut shrimp -upside down noodle basket -stir fry green beans -panda beef -garlic fried chicken I especially liked the ginger fish and the honey walnut shrimp. I wasn't sure what to expect with the garlic fried chicken. The chicken was tasty, and reminded me of katsu chicken from a Japanese restaurant. For "dessert" they gave away foil-wrapped fortune cookies dipped in white chocolate which was also nice. I'll admit that perhaps some of the dishes are not as authentic as some of the dishes you might get in San Gabriel Valley or Chinatown, but the food was still good enough for me and our guests. My husband and I had been wanting to try this place for some time since it's always packed when we walk by. We made reservations and were quickly seated upon arrival. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, the level of service is definitely a step above that of a typical Chinese restaurant. Our waiter was Kenny and he even unfolded my husband's napkin for him. The decor is very nice and updated. We ordered the pork potstickers to start and they came out after about 15 minutes. They were fresh and very tasty. For entrees we ordered the fried rice - assorted, crispy garlic chicken, and pork lo mein. Everything was delicious, especially the crispy garlic chicken. The sauce on the chicken also had a nice spiciness to it. The pork in the fried rice was truly exceptional. The lo mein was really good and the veggies were very flavorful. My favorite thing about all of the food was that nothing felt heavy or greasy, the food at some other Chinese food places feels too salty or artificial. The quality of the ingredients was great and the portions were very generous, my husband and I left feeling very full and satisfied. The fortune cookies here are amazing and I normally don't like them at all. It's a little pricy, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of great service and the quality of the food. Given the covid 19 circumstances, Panda Inn, is still working away and ensuring we're well feed and that we we're compliant by staying in and eating at home with our loved ones. However, I have ordered via DoorDash five times in the last few months. Each time I place an order, I call the restaurant to request for them to add chili oil. I do this because they don't offer a "special instructions," like other restaurants do. Each time, they tell me they will add it to our order. Each time, when the order arrives, the request is not honored. Is it really THAT difficult to add condiments to an order?
