Okay, I have had enough with Panera charging a "delivery fee" when the orders are delivered by Door Dash or Uber. The money does not go to the drivers for gas. Enough is enough, I could see if the money went to the drivers but they don't work for Panera. let's start with what was good- i had no problem with the service here, and the place is quite clean. but, this was the most mid food i've ever had- almost bad. i had the you pick two with the chicken avocado BLT, mac and cheese, and an apple. the sandwich had absolutely no flavor- it was cold as all hell, the bread was falling apart, and the bacon was not crispy. the mac and cheese was some of the most overcooked pasta i have ever had the displeasure of eating. it was so mushy i felt like i was eating baby food. and to top it all off... my apple was soft as well? strangest meal ever, i don't think ill be coming back to eat at a panera any time soon. read more

Great place. Fresh items. Salads are fantastic and fresh, especially their Cesar Salad at this particular location. Their tuna fish sandwiches are surprisingly better than the Subway ones that we've tried. And the soups came hot and served fresh with their usual European style crunchy loaves --soft on the inside. Grabbed lunch via the drive thru and I was not impressed. Ordered a couple pick two combos and they forgot the salad in 1 and us gave bread sides when we asked for chips. According to the receipt no one checked the order. I know we went at noon and there were two other cars in the drive thru line but it didn't appear super busy. In this economy, spending $35 on lunch but end up missing $7 worth is disappointing. I tried to call to speak to a manager when I realized the error, but my call was dropped twice. First visit to this Panera just off the campus of The College of New Jersey. Walking in, the place was well kept with plenty of room to dine or simply order and take away. I approached the cashier while checking out their bakery products on the back wall and immediately in front of me behind glass. I went with an Everything Bagel, Chive/ Onion Spread and a thin Brownie that winked at me as I spoke with the cashier. Finally, a light roast java to wash it all down. When I spread it all out on my desk, I learned that I would do the spreading. No sweat, knife included. The bagel was fresh, but the soft variety, rather than the crisp chew I prefer. Still, it was acceptable and I enjoyed it. The Brownie was likewise soft, but nicely chocolatey throughout. Half was covered with powdered sugar, giving it a sweet kick without overwhelming the basic premise of these brown squares. Finally, the Joe was hot and tasty from the light roast, which I often like more than the stronger heavier darker roasts. Bottom line, this was a decent late morning snack for a busy day, and I won't hesitate to visit again next time I am near The College. read more

This panera is very ... mid. I've been here a number of times and as a TCNJ student, it's a good place to get food when you're sick of the dining hall. Yet, every time I have come to those panera my experiences vary greatly. The first time I went I waited over an hour and my food was cold and not made correctly, yet the most recent time I went it was fast, piping hot and perfect. I think their consistency is lacking but I love panera so I'm willing to just deal with it. The location is good especially for students, and the drive thru is convenient. read more

This was my first visit to this Panera Bread. One and done, NEVER AGAIN! There's no signage stating that it's for pick up or delivery only. I ordered from the kiosk but there was no staff around the register area. They were all at the food prep station. Though we were greeted, we were told that we could not sit and eat. No one explained how we were supposed to obtain our meal. The only staff that assisted us was a delivery woman. She gathered our utensils and bag, patiently and with kindness. I've purchased from this location several times before, and it was always satisfactory. This time, I decided to treat the wife to lunch and I ordered food and bakery items for delivery. The order arrives and it was short one of the loaves of bread. I called the manager and she said that she couldn't apply a credit to my card for just one item, so she'd send a driver back with a cash refund. Instead, I told her to have the delivery person bring a different kind of loaf instead of a refund, and she offered to throw in a brownie for my trouble. The second delivery arrived, and when I took the inner bag from the outer bag with the handles, there was a face mask in the bottom of the bag. Needless to say, I freaked out. I called for the manager again (this time it was a he who identified himself as the manager) and explained how disgusted and upset I was. He offered to send out a replacement, but I declined since I no longer trust their delivery. I took the delivery, as I received it, to Panera and handed it to the manger. He said that the delivery driver told him the mask fell into the bag as he was putting it into his car. It gets worse. The replacement loaf of bread and brownies were now sold out. The manager refunded the entire lunch purchase and gave me a loaf of plain bread and a sticky bun. While he did his best to apologize for this gross and disgusting experience, I won't likely purchase from this Panera location again. read more

This is the worst Panera I've ever been to. The water in the men's bathroom sink is scalding hot! I notified the cashier about it but 3 weeks later it was still not fixed. Even if this information wasn't passed on to a manager, I would think/hope that male employees would use that sink daily after using the restroom. Customers burn themselves regularly (myself and others I've witnessed) and management has failed to act. Every time I've gotten coffee, there are always grinds in the coffee. My order was mixed up and they gave me the wrong sandwich so I had to get up and ask for the right order and all of the workers were incredibly rude and unhelpful, one of them yelled at me for misunderstanding what she said after mumbling a few words. I went in there for a uber eats pick up and instead of politely telling me where the pickup counter is she rudely pointed to it. Then when I went to show her the person's order she gave a little attitude and said "if the order isn't on the delivery shelves then you have to wait" the order wasn't there so I had to wait for a long time even though the order should've been done. While I was waiting another employee told me to "back up" instead of politely asking me to move out the way. After a long while the food was finally finished even though the person I was picking up the food for is a simple grilled cheese sandwich. I am extremely irritated by how there were talking to me and considering the reviews this isn't uncommon. Easily the dumbest workers ever but in their defense they do have good intentions. The last four times I came here the drive-thru got my order wrong. This time I ordered strawberry pecan oatmeal and got oatmeal with strawberries and no pecans. When I went in to correct it, they did add a scoop of pecans after I waited another 5 minutes. Clearly not the worst offense, just annoying. In the past they have always corrected their problems when I ask and the manager had offered me free pastries for the inconvenience. Today the BBQ chicken sandwich had no BBQ sauce on it. They said they thought they were out. Well then offer the customer another option! Last time they forgot a Mac n cheese for my son. I've heard a lot of horror stories with wrong orders and messups at Panera Bread, but my only bad experience was once when I ordered takeout and they couldn't find my townhouse (on campus). My order was delayed by an hour, but they threw in a giant pack of cookies to apologize for the inconvenience, so all was forgiven. I personally like this location; it's as solid as any other Panera Bread, and I've never had a problem other than the takeout mishap. I usually come here to study as well, and it's got a pretty good atmosphere; not too loud, solid teas and drinks, and tasty foods. I live and work in the area so I have visited this location at various times of day, different seasons, when school is in session or during summer/winter breaks and I've determine that this is my "only if I must" location. It feels expensive because I'm never happy with my order!!! I primarily use the drive-thru and today was the last straw. I orders a bowl of French Onion soup (and other items) and I arrived home with a CUP and NO cheese or croutons!!! Just went through the drive-through at this location. It's 830 at night almost no one inside and we were the only ones in line at the drive through. Ordered one chicken avocado melt and one LARGE Mac and cheese. Sat at the for widow 15 minutes (the girl actually apologized for the wait). No cars even showed up behind us. We get home only to find the Mac and cheese is barely filled. Not sure how it possibly took this long and very displeased to find a small portion in a large cup. Hope Panera will at least offer us a gift card/credit considering the slow service and not providing what we ordered. Have given this location so many chances but their customer service is horrid. The Princeton location is a much better customer experience. They "ran out of bread" and tried to give us a 2in stub. Understand they may have had a shortage that day, but they were very rude about it. We walk out and realize they screwes up the order and we're missing a sandwich. When we go to ask 2 minutes later they are very stand offish and demand a receipt. Why would we waste our time to come back to claim a sandwich??
