I recommend going before lunch because the line was the out the door. Parking got crazy at lunch time too. But they have a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very nice and the service was excellent. However, the power bowl was not very powerful. It was essentially an arugula salad with some potatoes and mushrooms. It's not very filling and definitely more of an appetizer. Mushroom cacao chai: a very healthy chocolate flavored chai. I recommend it as it wasn't too sweet and pretty light. Pear pie: a disappointing pastry. It was mostly applesauce but pears on a pre-baked tart. A little bland and something that would be served at a retirement home because it was so mushy and inoffensive. I wouldn't recommend this. Overall, I would come here for drinks but not food. Especially when the same plaza has so many nice restaurants like Marche Moderne. read more

Seats were a bit hard to find bc it was non on Sunday, but we got a seat outside! Cold brew was a little on the burnt bean aroma side, but went well with the cookie! I had a toast harvest?, which was my first avocado toast ever bc I could never justify the price. But why not experience rich Newport life with a 16$ toast. The heirloom tomatoes were good and hot sauce elevates true experience. I was inspired to make my own at home so I got the ingredients at the tj in the same plaza. I absolutely love parakeet! It's all seed oil free, filled with helpful and friendly employees and established in a beautiful shopping center with an ocean view. Every ingredient is fresh and perfectly cooked. I recently tried their healthy bowl with organic tofu and that filled me up! It was veggie forward, healthy and delicious- just what I was craving. Their strawberry matcha is perfect for a hot summer day. It's made with real strawberries! My only complaint is that whenever I come to pick up an order, no employee ever interacts with me when I obviously need help just standing by one of the cash registers. It happens every time and we only get helped when we recognize one of our favorite employees (Damian, Mari or Vlad). A simple "have you been helped?" I had already eaten (even though I've been dying to try their brunch), so I just ordered a drink online since it was busy. Paid $10 for a cold cream vanilla matcha. When I came in to pick it up, no one really wanted to help. I stood there for 5 minutes before anyone greeted me. Told someone I had a mobile order -- he said he'd check and never came back. I tried to explain to another staff member what happened, but she walked away before I could even finish. Finally a third person came over and actually helped. Overall, no one was nice.
