When she did arrive she was friendly and attentive; however, the food sever diff had a bad vibe/demeanor and brought our main entrees cold, I had to go look for the unpleasant manager again and ask if they could return our cold [EXPENSIVE] food and bring it back hot (keeping my fingers crossed that they wouldn't do something unethical to my food upon return); yet, during the whole process management remained unfriendly towards us, no apology what so ever on there behalf! *As we left, the manager gave me a mean look and said nothing to me nor did she wish us well and hope to see you again... Came here on a Tuesday afternoon. We parked in the lot which they validate for 2 hours. It was 3 of us, and we each ordered shrimp gumbo to start with. 2 of us ordered the cup and 1 ordered the bowl. The cup is pretty mall but its an ok size as a starter. They also served oyster crackers with the gumbo. The gumbo was darker and thicker than what Im used to, but it was still tasty. Also, there was not much rice with it. After that we ordered the Parker's sampler and the Three Amigos special rolls to share. The sampler was disappointing. There was 2 of each item and it wasnt as tasty as I expected. The sushi was ok but nothing to write home about. Also, I had a strawberry lemonade which was good. My honey took me here for New Year's Eve. The view is gorgeous and the atmosphere is classy and upscale without being pretentious. We had reservations for 8PM and arrived 15 minutes early. They handed us a buzzer thing and told us to wait. At first this was not a huge issue because we were early first and secondly they were busy with all the couples that had decided to partake in their New Year's Eve event. Anyhow, we were not called until 20 minutes or so after our 8PM reservation time. The hostess apologized for the wait and escorted us to the elevator to Queensview Steakhouse on the 3rd floor. The elevator doors open on the 3rd floor and we are greeted by name by another hostess, nice touch. Also, there was a live band playing that night (bass, sax, and keyboard). It really set the mood for a romantic evening. We were seated at our table and our waiter promptly came over. He gave us the wine menu and gave us some time to look it over. We ordered a bottle of wine and looked over the pre fixe menu. He came back with our bottle of wine at which he had an issue opening due to the large cork. He was a pleasure. We truly enjoyed his service. He was funny, poised, and very attentive. He took our order and shortly after another server came around with a bread basket that we were able to choose from. After that a Amuse Bouche was delivered to the table which was a salmon mousse on wheat toast. It was very tasty. I ordered the following: 1st course - Maine Lobster Bisque OMG freaking delicious. I would have been happy with this as my meal. 2nd Course - Shrimp Cocktail - 3 jumbo shrimp plated nicely. But did not blow my socks off taste wise. Tasted like any other shrimp cocktail. 3rd Course - 14oz N.Y. Steak Au Poivre with cognac cream sauce with a loaded baked potato Really good and cooked the way I ordered it. The baked potato was also good but again its a baked potato. 4th Course - Cappuccino Creme Brulee Very good and not too sweet. I could not finish it at this point because I was beyond stuffed. Our food was given to us at the right times and the plates came out hot unless they were cold dishes of course. I think it's because long ago in the old country, it was rare for newborns to reach the 100th day still alive and well. So anyways, we were searching for a venue for a couple weeks. The search was horrible! We called Las Brisas and the banquet manager was a complete douche! Power tripped to the max. We tried several other places and it was either not in our price range or not a nice enough environment. As I researched Parker's Lighthouse, I loved the waterfront views and the interior of the restaurant was very modern and classy. The staff was great! Faith Reed is a rock star! Big props! We had our party and they basically let us do whatever we wanted. They were so flexible with everything, we just couldn't believe the service. Now onto the food... Prime Rib and Cheese Panini - BOMB (Meaning that it was delicious, for the older yelpers) Grilled Salmon Burger - Large portion and delicious Chilean Sea Bass - Ask for light sauce and you're golden I wasn't able to taste some of the other dishes, but they all looked fantastic. I was invited to dinner here. I suppose in modern times it is also known as a 'date.' ;)* Initially, he was suggesting other places like the Queen Mary. But eventually decided on PL. My last visit here was with family well over a decade ago. So when he confirmed the place and time, I was pleasantly looking forward to visiting this amazing place again. It was a perfect evening. A gentle breeze. Indeed a very beautiful, clear night. He requested an absolutely amazing table with breath taking views. The gentleman knows how to woo a lady:) The place is awesome. Dropped in Parker's Lighthouse on a Saturday afternoon and had a wonderful dining experience. Me: macadamia nut crusted salmon with mashed potatoes and baby bok choy (with a white wine butter sort of buerre blanc sauce); Him: seafood platter with a crab cake, grilled yellow tail filet and scallop stuffed shrimp; Her: Gorgonzola spinach grilled swordfish. Appetizers were tortilla soup, house salad (with feta) and a bottle of Chardonnay. Great service by Brittny, great table and all around good night. I have been here a few times with friends. Each time was a great experience. The first time I went to Parker's I chatted it up with the bartender who was pouring very nicely. She was going to school to be a teacher and was asking me about teaching. When my friends got there we had some half priced sushi and we were happy campers. The next time we went I had some seared Ahi tuna and it was great. We got to sit outside and watch the feral cats with a nice background of the Queen Mary. Of course I can never say no to free food and I was pretty excited when they suggested that we check out Parker's. I've passed by this place a few times and I noticed that the restaurant had a great atmosphere. We scored a seat with a pretty view and started with their house bread. I enjoyed their whipped butter immensely. We ordered a variety of things to share. A Crab Cake Sandwich, Jambalaya, Seafood Linguine, a Cobb Salad, and some Clam Chowder. The Cobb Salad was pretty good but can you really mess up a salad? The Jambalaya was just alright to me. It was a tad too salty and watery. The Seafood Linguine was really pretty to look at. They didn't skimp you on the seafood which was really nice. A little too much oil for my taste though. The Crab Cake Sandwich was good! That was a really tasty crab cake and I loved the coleslaw that came with it. The Clam Chowder was probably the best thing I tasted that day. Tons of clam meat and it was very creamy. Totally hit the spot. I should have stuck with an entire bowl of that for a meal. After a meal like that, we couldn't pass on some dessert. We ordered the Godiva Swiss Chocolate Cake to share between 4 of us and it was still too much. The cake was a MONSTER and was super dense. Service: Excellent, timely, professional. My server's name was Brian. He was awesome! His recommendations were very knowledgeable and could not have been better. Food: completely delicious. Well presented, thoughtful and artistic. However, my seasonable veggies that were served with the swordfish filet were a rather uncoordinated companionship that did not seem to work very well together at all. Very conflicting flavors and out of season. Ambiance: The patio was divine! The walled glass and space heaters made it a truly perfect place to dine in early June for dinner. I only came here because a client suggested it. The moment I walked in I did not feel in any way she perform welcome or acknowledged. The young man behind the front desk was too busy flirting with a cocktail waitress to say hello to me or direct me to where my client was waiting for me. I walked around for about 5 to 10 minutes before I was able to gather that they were in the bar. When I finally found them I waited 10 to 15 minutes before I was greeted or offered any kind of drink. And as luck would have it my waitress was the same waitress I saw flirting at the front desk earlier. ( Her name was Layla as I found out by seeing a manager call her over, not because she ever bothered to introduce herself) She was even more unwelcoming then the man she was flirting with. She kept saying sorry about the wait but there was hardly anybody in the bar and lounge. She only came to our table to drop off drinks and food and not once gave us refills. The food was outstanding which is a shame because the service left a horrible taste in my mouth. I was hoping that perhaps when I left, the gentleman at the front desk would at least tell me to have a good day, seeing as I used to work in the service industry I know this is standard procedure... But there was my waitress again talking to him and of course I did not only get ignored once again, but when I left it turned out I could have gotten my parking validated and gotten the discount but it ended up being about $10. read more

This place is pricier than it needs to be (should be $$ instead of $$$) but the food is good and the price also goes into location--and Parker's Lighthouse is the best as far as location in Long Beach. We didn't have reservations but the hostess (extremely sweet) worked with me and got us a table outside overlooking the the entire bay with the Queen Mary stretching across the horizon. As far as views, you can't get any better than this. (I can't thank the hostess enough). Having been a host at a busy restaurant, I have to say that her kindness really goes a long way. The live music was beautiful and right. A folk singer who nailed every James Taylor song. Before we left, we walked around the interior and were pretty impressed in that every seat has a great view of some sort. I recommend their Swordfish and Chilean Sea Bass. Had dinner here. Views are great, so is the ambiance (if on the patio where it's not so loud). One dish was fine the second not so much, dessert and service were good though. My date ordered the sea bass which was tasty and cooked well. I ordered the grilled mahi mahi which was not fully cooked. Unfortunately I didn't realise this until I ate almost half. The cooked parts were good but I don't understand how you undercook a piece of fish that much. The tiramisu was decent. Overall the price isn't worth mediocre food and undercooked fish that might make you sick. Seems they're hit and miss though with the food based on other reviews. They validate parking which is nice. This place was surprisingly awesome! I knew it would be good because living in a coastal city you higher standards for your seafood, or at least you should. I mistakenly forgot to make my Father's Day reservations in advance, like a dumbass. However, I called that morning and tried to make a reservation. The hostess at first said they had no openings at 1p (of course they wouldn't! it's freaking Father's Day!), and mentioned an opening around 2p. Just as I was about to answer she stopped me and said, "Wait a minute....I might have an opening....oh well, I'll just write you in." SAVED! Best hostess moment ever! I told her I was eternally grateful and that I was very glad she so willing to accomodate us. I knew parking was going to be crazy, and had purposely lied to my family about the time to make sure we could be there on time. So, of course, they were running late. Luckily, they have Valet parking. We were seated almost right away, and...with a window table over looking the marina with all the tour boats riding by it was the best view I've seen dining in Shoreline Village. I ordered the Lemon Crusted Red Snapper, but didn't realize it was fried until it was sitting in front of me. It looke & tasted greate, but was a bit too heavy for me. I regretted eating almost immediately. This doesn't mean much since I east stuff I probably shouldn't all the time! Our waiter was especially helpful and very nice. He gave great recommendations for the rest of my family, and even joked around a little with my 11 year-old sister, who is normally very shy. Parker's Lighthouse is a very good restaurant, with good atmosphere and food at decent prices. My girlfriend and I had dinner at Parker's last night for her upcoming birthday. We found the restaurant through the reviews on yelp and their web site, which had a current menu. The most difficult part was actually finding the restaurant. Currently downtown street is under construction and there are no real sidewalks. We arrived at 6:30pm for our reservation and the restaurant was empty, but if you look outside the patio they have at least 10 tables full of patrons which they are enjoying the view , this place is oh so cool very clean and colorful inside. We were seated near the back patio which was a nice view. There is nothing overly impressive about the interior of the restaurants, but it's colorful, clean, and informal. My girlfriend ordered the chilean sea bass and I got the stuffed shrimp. Both of our meals were nice, not spectacular, but certainly good meals. The prices were also very reasonable, which is also nice. Overall, this is a restaurant where you can get a good meal and not spend a lot of money. I could have easily given this restaurant a 5/5 rating, but I'm not sure it qualifies as THAT great of a venue. It's more like a place that you can feel confident that you can recommend to a friend and they will have a good, if not great, meal. read more

Just got back from happy hour at Parkers Lighthouse. Haven't been there in ages, and after today's visit, I don't know why that has been the case. Ever since I got back from Barcelona last week, I've been having this really strong craving for oysters. Well, I fulfilled that today. However, I didn't just have your ordinary oysters on the half shell, no siree, I had the Rock Oysters which are their version of Oyster Rockefeller. I accompanied that with an IPA and some of their famous Garlic Cheesebread. All in all, it was great! The Rock Oysters were delicious, covered in fatty butter and cheesy goodness just oozing in cholesterol, ready to clog my arteries. Hell, if I die after eating this, you'll see a big smile on my face as I lay there unconsciously. The service was great too. The server just took my order, brought my food, and probably checked on me once or twice to make sure I was doing okay. There's nothing more that I hate than a server that is OVER attentive and is bothering the hell out of me every 5 minutes to see if there's anything else I would like. I will definitely be visiting Parker's a bit more. I'm a bit too burned out from my usual happy hour spot at Tantalum. It is time to frequent other fine establishments :-). read more

Parker's Lighthouse is a great restaurant either for a romantic dinner, Sunday brunch, or happy hour with friends. This review focuses on their happy hour because it's one of the best in Long Beach! They're located in Shoreline Village at the very end. If you take the AquaBus, they have a stop right in front of the restaurant. Parking is easy, and it's behind the restaurant. They validate for parking (I forgot how long though). Their Happy Hour is 3-7, M-F. They have a bunch of cheap, fresh seafood dishes, and they also have sushi! Rolls range from $2,50-$4.50. Maybe we were here on The Fourth Of July and their menu was limited to a few specials of the day, but although it is a lovely place, the food was just ok. Our party made a 4th of July reservation on the patio so that we could dine and watch the Fireworks show from the Queen Mary closeby. The table was ready for us and it was nicely set. For appetizers, we ordered Fried Calamari and The Spicy Cajun Drumsticks. The Calamari was ok. The Spicy Cajun DrimstickS (note the 'S' which was also noted on the menu), came out as a single durmstick. A single, $6.00 drumstick. Rather than order seven more to accomodate our eight-person table (that would have come out to $48.00 for eight drumsticks if my math my math is correct), we all took little nibbles to see if it was worth the price. The overwhelming response from the table was a resounding, 'no'. The holiday dinner consisted of an appetizer, entree and desert. I had a classic Wedge Salad (quite good), a Petite Filet with Seafood Brochette and pilaf (also good), and berry cobbler to finish (meh). Overall, the dining experience was fine. After a few drinks, we watched the fireworks show, which was great, except that somehow some of the throngs of people out in Long Beach had found their way onto the patio of the restaurant, and were crowding around to get a better vantage point for the fireworks. It wasn't a ton, but the restaurant should have been mindful about keeping people from off the streets from coming into the patio area and taking up space that we paid for for the evening. When the show was over, and the bill came, $65/person not including Calimari/Drumstick(1) and drinks. It was a little pricey for what we actually ended up getting, but it was the company of family and friends that was most important, so I will say that the evening was very nice, but that if this is the regular experience of dining at Parker's Lighthouse, other restaurants, like the nearby Yardhouse, or others, it may not necessarily be my go-to place in Long Beach. The first waitress' impression was that we were bothering her! she kept staring at me from head to toe which made me very uncomfortable- Hey, I know I'm hot, so let's just keep that to yourself- Anyways, she mumbled a few words like, "just grab ANY table" ......."get a menu" So that we did. We sat ourselves outside in the sun since it was a bit chilly in shade. Waited a few minutes and waitress #2 shows up confused as to why we were sitting in the "lunch" section. "Ah .........self-seating?????" That's pretty much what we were told. Anyways, she went to "check" if it was ok for us to be served where we were seated. Waitress #3 comes out, leaving her people and communication skills behind, trying to relate to us that we CANNOT sit in the section we were sitting (the section, FYI, that was less crowded than the rest of the restaurant). I told her, we just want to eat! She insisted that we need to move!............And that we did! We moved straight on through the front door, along with our dining dollars! We came here for dinner while visiting from out of town. It took us a while to make a final decision on a restaurant. We're from Phoenix and it's so hard to wrap our heads around California restaurant prices (even though we lived in Cali just a year ago!). That being said, our meal turned out being very reasonable for what we received. Fridays in Lent are especially tricky for us crazy Catholics who need a preferably seafood dinner. Tricky to accomplish with enough options for a group of 6 while traveling. Thus, to the Lighthouse! Our meal was amazing. We made the reservation 2 hours ahead and got, what we believed to be, the best table in the restaurant. 360 view of the marina and the birds. My mil was in heaven (she's a bird person). Prix fixe menu made things a lot easier for all involved (especially when thinking about cost). We were there for almost 4 hours and felt no pressure to clear the table, we were able to have a wonderful leisurely meal. It was a fabulous time. The only thing I will say about the food is that pretty much everything was amazing, but the dessert was lackluster. Their "signature" dish, tollhouse cookie slice had way too many nuts in it and was rather dry. It was nothing to write home about. I took a few clients here for a business lunch as it was near their offices. The place was quite empty at the time. My biggest complaint would be their inability to process special requests. My client asked for no aioli on her sandwich and a side salad. She was brought the stock sandwich and fries. Similar situation occurred with her colleague. The food is decent but nothing exceptional. The view I had very high hopes for but was faced towards more of an industrial area. I won't be back, however if you're in the area it may be worth trying. Just don't get your hopes up. read more

I was very disappointed to return to Parker's Lighthouse to be treated the way I was. I understand that it was nothing personal but it was disheartening just the same. I was celebrating a retirement party for an acquaintance and arrived at 5:50. The group grew from 20 people to approximately 30. The manager came out to explain to us that they would not be able to accommodate our request for separate checks. Their reason behind that was that they wanted to make sure that everyone in the party would receive their food at the same time and that it is difficult for them to separate checks for that many people. I love coming here for the food. The food is amazing. I have tried several different appetizers and main dishes; all are savory and delicious with a wonderful presentation for the most discerning palate. The views of the ocean are just amazing. It's so peacful and relaxing to come here. At night they have a live band playing music. The vibes are good and everyone seems to be calm and nice. The first time I came here everything was just perfect. Recently, I arrived early for my dinner reservation so a few of us waited for the rest of our party at the bar. Here is the problem. The work ethic behind the bar was completely shocking. Not one of the waiters or waitresses stopped to wash their hands after coming from outside or handling cash and credit cards. I saw one waitress play with her hair and then pick up the fresh fruit used for garnish with her bare hands and place it on the rim of the glass. The most egregious thing I witnessed was a couple of the waiters actually picked up the olives with their bare, unwashed hands, stuck the olives onto a long toothpick and then placed that into a customer's drink! It's not just the olives that they did this with, but ALL of the garnishments. So now, all of the garnishes in their containers and the juices they sit in, are contaminated! And this is served to hundreds of customers!!! This happened over and over like it's a normal thing to do. I will never again order a drink from this place! They touch the glasses with their unwashed hand over the rim of the glass. You are supposed to grab the glass around the sides. You don't touch the top of the glass with your ENTIRE hand!!! I even saw a bartender sniff the glass before he filled it with a drink!! Just OMG! I was in complete shock! The bar towel used to wipe the counter had a heap of wine stains on it and the bartender didn't even turn the towel over to clean when wiping down the counter! If he rinsed it out at all, it wasn't while I was there waiting for my friends and they were at least 20 minutes later in arriving. Watching all of this it makes me wonder if they have an SOP manual (Standard Operating Procedures manual) or a ServSafe certification. Touching money, credit cards and even door handles and then putting those same ungloved and unsanitized hands into the garnish containers made me want to throw up! Again, the food is superb but as for drinks....I don't even want a glass of water!! I can't believe that I had something to drink from this place and all of this was going on the ENTIRE time. read more

This place came recommended to me by a local. Generally locals don't steer you wrong. I would say that this place was as good as was recommended to me. The views are amazing and the food and service was fair server kept saying he was going to bring me bread and after the third time he did. Brought me water after I had finished dinner. It is a little in the high side for prices but worth the expense for special occasions. read more

First time at Parker's Lighthouse but needed a place in Long Beach to host some friends. Selected Parker's since I was looking for seafood and a great view. The food was excellent. Crab cake sandwich and seafood linguine were tasty and excellent. Service was fine. Parking for a weekday lunch was ample. Will definitely come back. read more

I will never step a foot at this place again. I was seating at the bar tops. I felt really bad that a manager was tasting don peringon n having a great time with two of his customers. Ur a manager ur supposed to be the example n not drink any alcohol on duty. read more

I finally came back and had an actual meal. I ordered something called a sandab which i honestly never heard before. Being from the northeast, i love seafood, so i asked if the waiter could explain the dish to me. He said it was similar to a flounder, same texture, same taste and he was dead on. My girlfriend ordered the stuffed salmon. Both of our plates came dressed the same way, Both were laying over a bed of asparagus over mashed potatoes with a lemon caper sauce which we both absolutely loved. Our meal was again accompanied by a great view of the bay. We are definitely becoming regulars. read more
