Went here on a Friday night. It was busy but no wait . Nice menu with lots of Italian options. They have my fav app- prosciutto and mozz which didn't disappoint! Pasta Beach on the east side in Providence consistently maintains an excellent standard. Lynn who is part of their managerial staff is warm, personable and very welcoming when you visit their Providence location. Their tagliatelle alla bolognese is fresh, tasty as are their pizzas. The salsiccia e gorgonzola is particularly good and is freshly made as are their pasta dishes. Service is pleasant, efficient and their staff is knowledgeable about the items on their menu. I have never been disappointed with the quality of this restaurant and recommend it strongly. Highly recommended if you happen to be in the area. read more

Pasta Beach on Wayland is a most welcome addition to the neighborhood. Wayland Square, you need to face it. You're dying of a disease brought on by too many little-old-lady clothing stores, too-precious boutiques and the world's only depressing Irish pub. Pasta Beach may buy you some time, but unless you can land some vendors who can attract people under the age of 80 you're pretty much doomed. And what's going in on the corner where that ripoff Alex and Ani used to squat? That space needs to be a bar. And not a goddam "theme" bar or other Millenial bullshit, I'm talking about a place where you can get a boilermaker without the bartender having to look that up. And what asshole is responsible for putting a Moe's in that old building on Waterman? This is Providence, not friggin' Cleveland. But, I digress. Had dinner at Pasta Beach last night with #1 girlfriend and bonus daughter. We had a resi for 7:15 and were seated at that time, which is nice as this place is very busy. Food - We had the salumi and formaggio starter which was outstanding and more than enough for two people. #1 girlfriend had a buffalo mozz salad and a Tuscan bean soup, both excellent. Bonus daughter had a margherita pizza which was great, it's tough to stand out in a city full of awesome pizzerias but Pasta Beach is a serious competitor. I had the spaghetti alle vongole, and it was very good, made using the tiny clams I got used to eating in Italy. Nice selection of wines by the glass, my after dinner double espresso was perfect, and the lemon sorbetto we shared at the end was refreshing and delicious. Beware the short pours and very high prices on wine an liquor, though. My anisette was thimble-sized. Service - Waitress was friendly but harried. Took forever to get a glass of wine because the hipster doofus bartender was too busy wagging his chin at the customers in front of him to take care of the floor staff's orders. That HAS to change. Also, the staff was uniformly sloppy and wrinkled and generally a mess. But, otherwise competent. Ambiance - It's a nice space, but because the crap music they have chosen is played WAY too loud, everybody has to shout to be heard. They have a "pizza bar" which is really just a counter in front of where the pizza is made, walled off by plexiglass. You probably don't want to eat at the pizza bar, and the guy back there making pizza doesn't need you gawking at him like he's a zoo animal. Summary - you should go eat here, the food is really excellent, and they will probably work out the rest of the kinks before too long. read more

Just got through with dinner, won't be going back... Asked for table in the corner near the open window in the front, got the same line about "that area is reserved for a big party that is coming in shortly". We got moved to the back at a high top. 5-mins later they seat a couple in the exact table we asked for. Wtf? - the waiter took or drink order, brought it over promptly, took our dinner order, then disappeared. - the food came out in less than ten minutes and almost as an after-thought the waiter dropped off 4 small pieces of bread. - I had the pasta funghi dish which was essentially a mound of pasta covered in another mound of thinly sliced button mushrooms. The pasta had very little sauce, lacked flavor and it was a small portion. I also asked to add shrimp and they came on the side. They were lukewarm and tasted like they were boiled. - had to flag down a passing waitress to get water We gave up at that point. BTW, we mentioned the table seating issue on the way out and the young woman we spoke to said "well we have had some cancellations...". Obviously not huge deal, so to be clear the indifferent service and bland food is what earned them 2-stars. . read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Providence! Wayland square is such a quaint area. The restaurant is clean, the waiters and staff are so attentive and kind, and the food is amazing! Pretty good wine list and interesting cocktails they have. When you eat there it doesn't feel like you're in Providence, RI, but maybe the coast of Italy or some other beautiful Mediterranean country. Overall I would highly recommend. read more

Nope. Not worth the wait. Not worth the money. Made reservations for two at the front window; I was very specific, hoping that the floor-to-ceiling windows would be open. They weren't but it wouldn't have mattered since the hostess would not honor our reservation! When I reminded her that I had requested a seat for two at the window, she replied that they expected (expected?) a large party and she would have to seat us elsewhere. She attempted to seat us at one of the high top tables next to the bar. The place was practically empty and we just walked over to one of the empty tables in front and said, "How about this one?" She grudgingly "allowed" us to sit there. Scowling persons should not be greeters. The food? So so, at best. $14 for a small martini not made to order. $10-11 (not sure) for a very short pour of wine. My friend got a pasta and clam sauce dish and was unimpressed. I got a mushroom pizza that came out warm - cheese not melted, mushrooms uncooked. Asked to take home the uneaten pizza (my friend did not want her pasta) and, the next day, I discovered that they had folded two slices on top of two slices and it resulted in a gooey, inedible mess. So I ordered 2 of the lasagna. My boyfriend and I thought it would be a reliable place for takeout. Unless you like your food over salted do not order this. Basically after a few bites the food went into the trash. It was inedible to say the least. Also the description mentioned it had a bechamel sauce in it which would have been great to cut down on the acid but there was absolutely no evidence of that.Disgusting and so disappointing that an establishment named Pasta Beach can't even get a basic lasagna right. I'm not a big yelper but very often do rely on reviews for where to go, and the rating is very often spot on with my experience. Interestingly, pasta beach was only a 3.5 star. I had been to the location many years ago when it was on memorial boulevard in Newport, so figured I'd try this one with my fiancé. Our experience was fantastic. Excellent host station and one of the best waiter experiences (Alex) that I've ever had. We truly enjoyed our meals - the meatball app, the chicken Milanese and the fungi mushroom. What a cool looking place! Actually heard of this while standing in line to vote, the woman behind me says she is going there for lunch and the food is outstanding. Headed there for dinner with my parents (who are quite picky) and was thrilled! Ambiance: Don't need to dress up for this place, there are quite a few bar stools which face the wood fire pizza oven and the open kitchen. Lots of high top tables and some regular tables. Modern design and can get a little loud as the place isn't huge. Food: We wanted either fried calamari or fried mozzarella but neither were on the app menu. The apps consisted of brushetta and tomato salad but get a pizza as your app, it is perfect to split with 3 people. We got the basic pizza with tomato, mozzarella, and basil, it was cooked to perfection, the flavor was incredible. You may want to get this just as your entree and not share :) The pasta fagioli soup in a cup was a huge portion and loaded with cannelli beans, again, great flavor. The basic side salad was enormous and full of fresh greens. Now for the pasta! They offer fresh egg pasta but since we got the white clam sauce the waitress suggested to stick with the regular spaghetti as it is tossed quite a bit with the clams so the egg pasta could break. This entree was beyond amazing, there were an exuberant amount of clams, but they were the baby clams so it takes a little longer to pull them all out. Our only disappointment was the basic pasta dish with tomato sauce, it was very watery and not much flavor. So stick with their fun pasta dishes and I am sure it will be great. The waitstaff was great, nothing ever ran empty and overall the food was excellent, we will definately be returning and the fact that overall my parents loved it says a lot and makes my life so much easier! read more

I always enjoy my self at Pasta Beach and I expect this is a consistent view shared with the others who come here often. A great location on the East Side. Both the pizza and pasta is enjoyable. If you enjoy your time here, their location in Newport is also great ! read more

This was my first visit there ... The layout of the restaurant is only a 3 star in my view... The bar area really sits over the entire dining room , it's a bit loud but that's just me picking a bit as I do enjoy spots in the room that are away from all the activity . Service was fast and friendly , the menu is simply but they definitely put their own twist on it. It's not cheap , but for the quality you get , it's where it should be. We sat at the bar and the kitchen is open so you can see them prep orders. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked great. I am Italian and love Italian meats and cheeses. They have several dishes that just looked amazing with mounds and mounds of prosciutto and other meats along with Cheese's. Salads look very colorful and fresh , pasta looked good too. Definitely worth a visit and I will return for a meat and cheese try soon read more

Went to Pasta Beach tonight to try out the new restaurant in the neighborhood. I've never had such bad service in my life. We came in and got seated at the end of the bar because every open table was already reserved. The waitress came over and got our drink order and gave us menus. She came back less than a minute later with our drinks and asked if we knew what we were getting yet, but we said we needed another minute. 15 minutes later she never came back. Another waitress brought us a pizza that we did not order and tried to leave it with us after we told her it was not ours. Another 5 or 10 minutes went by with our waitress still never coming back to take our order, despite us trying to get her attention every time she walked by. We left after about 30 minutes total of not getting our order taken and went somewhere else. I have never seen a wait staff do their job this poorly. Probably won't even come back to try the overpriced food. read more

I went in on a Thursday and had high expectations of the place. A new Italian restaurant? Yes please! We sat at the bar and I ordered a red wine. The bar tender came back with a white one. People make mistakes but this set the tone for the rest of the meal. I was excited to see buffalo mozzarella. But for $15 something dollars for the appetizer, it was not worth the quality I got. It was rubbery and lacked any flavor, and reminded me of something I could get at a cheap grocery store. At this point, my view of the kitchen was in sight and I could see a box of pasta in the corner. It was the same pasta I regularly buy for myself at home. For a restaurant that specializes in pasta, this bothered me. We got our meals. I got carbonara, and it was okay. A bit to salty, with only a single note of flavor. I'm used to carbonara that is peppery, and has that Romano cheese taste. That was completely missing. Again, not worth the money I spent. The other dish we got was a squid pasta dish, and yet again it was overly salty and lacking any complex flavor. It tasted like jarred sauce. Been to Pasta Beach on two different occasions and have to say the food was very good and the service was also. Came in on a thursday night with 75 and it was fairly busy by 6pm. We chose to sit at the bar. The restaurant is visually appealing with about 18(?) tables and high tops a high factory type interior with an open kitchen and pizza oven area. The atmosphere was cozy and trandy at the same time. The crowd on this evening looked like Eastsiders for the most part with some families and some couples, me and 75. Travis at the bar was on and his drinks were well made.Nice martini. Started out with the Pomodoro Bruschetta-olive oil garlic and tomatoes on some fine bread. Thumbs up. For dinner 75 went with the Spaghetti Carbonara- pasta with italian bacon and aioli and i had the pasta with Bolognese (meat sauce). Both dishes were decent portions and very tasty. The Bolognese was on the salty side but not a deal breaker by any means. we were in a bit of a rush so we didnt explore the bar too deeply nor did we try the dessert or espresso. Next time. When I initially made the resy the person on the line was super sweet, however the person at host desk appeared as if I was an annoyance and even worse when I asked for a high chair. Watermelon margaritas were delicious, we ordered a wine at dinner and looked like a 3 oz pour - maybe glasses were deceiving? I took my 2 years old son and wife for a dinner. We ordered bottle of red wine, appetizer, salad , pasta and steak. Everything was fine until we had the steak. First of all I ordered medium rare which is pink inside. First steak that we got was medium well. I asked one of the servers and demiene, sorry if I misspelled, he take cares the situation. When we got the second steak it was burnt outside , probably they rushed the order, rare in the middle. That's a no no! We need to go back again for sure. I've been here only once but the food was disappointing. The pizza and pasta were very mediocre. Haven't been back since.

We were in Providence for the evening and frequent Wayland Square, but never Pasta Beach. That changed tonight for we came as a party of four and came out as believers. Started with Bruchetta which had wonderful fresh basil, generously placed with fresh tomatoes, on fine bread. We also had a simple pizza to share.... and tonight if we had stopped here it would have been fine. A couple of us had salads and they were fine but nothing special--except the portion size was generous. The star was the pasta and the calzone. The pastas, whether it be mushroom, or seafood, are highly recommended. The calzone was oversized and delicious. We will return and I hope they are as consistent as observed tonight. The service was attentive, professional and wonderful. On our next trip to Providence this will be one of our first stops. read more

A little pricey for the portions served. Bar is luncheonette counter height complete with swivel stools. Smallish and need reservations. One night there were people around the bar, the next night they were held at the front door creating a bigger line than necessary. First couple times I came here was amazing but today wasn't the best. I love the atmosphere here and the wait staff is super polite! However, today my pasta and my partner's was super undercooked but it took so long to come out so we ate it anyways. I don't appreciate paying ~$20 for undercooked pasta (they do cook pasta to al dente, this was not that). Really sad since my previous experiences here have been so great. Portion sizes are nice and big but won't have any leftovers this time since I didn't want to take the rest home with me. read more

While we were waiting for our meals, we noticed that the chef in the kitchen and at the pizza station were not wearing a mask. Our waitress was also wearing her mask below her nose. We then decided to leave immediately the restaurant because we didn't feel safe eating there. We told the host how we felt and left. The manager called us telling us that they were following CDC guidelines and they were not doing anything wrong. We are very sorry but we do not feel comfortable having somebody cooking, breathing and touching our food without all the precautions during this pandemic. We will never go back there because of the attitude of the manager on the phone telling us that they didn't do anything wrong ! REALLY ! read more

Pasta Blech. We have been a few times. It's a convenient location for us. The first time we called to get a same day reservation, the hostess laughed and told us that they were only taking reservations a week out. That didn't last long. Within a few weeks, it was easy to get a same-day reservation. First, the good. The place looks cool and it's comfortable. The location is great. They have an extensive menu with food and drink. They have expanded so there is lots of seating. But... It's a little overpriced. The pizza's good, and it's good for lunch - but a little overpriced. Also, one time, the pizza oven was broken. We went last night. The waiter started by telling us that his father is Italian, so he could "help us out." He then proceeded to correct our pronunciation on everything we ordered. The food was SALTY. Way too salty. Also, portions are small. The lasagne was burnt. The pasta hadn't been stirred, so it was clumping together. I we ordered affogato for dessert. They are supposed to bring the gelato and espresso separately so you can pour them together at the table and you get this wonderful frozen crust of espresso on the gelato. Nope. He prepared them downstairs and essentially brought us sweet, milky coffee. We probably will not be going back. read more

First time at this restaurant. Sat upstairs and it was so noisy! While tables seemed to be spaced apart, several of the tables were occupied by large parties of 6-8. I had the gnocchi with Pomodoro sauce. I've never had gnocchi stick to the roof of my mouth. Was overdone. The sauce tasted like it came out of a can. My date had the lasagna which was so-so.
