We had the spaghetti bolognese which was soo good. The fresh pasta is AMAZING. I added some parmesan and red pepper flakes. And the flavor of the bolognese was great. I would have enjoyed a little more sauce because there is a lot of meat, but that's just me. Next we had the lasagna bolognese which I'm not a fan of lasagna but even I thought it was delicious. We also had the piatto di legno (basically a mini charcuterie platter) and the quality of the meat and cheese was incredible. We also had the cannolis and they were tastey as well! I absolutely love everything about this place! I love the small family feel of the clinic. I love the food. I love the asmosphere. I love the crisp water that they serve. EVERYTHING! The pasta was amazing! I got the Rigatoni with bolognese sauce with added sausage. It blew my mind! The pasta was definitely very fresh and homemade. It was cooked to perfection with the perfect bite density. The sauce was the perfect compliment. My husband got the spaghetti Vincenzo which was also an absolute delight! I would do almost anything for their vodka sauce. It's almost like an out of body experience. If I find something I truly love at a place, I'll never try anything else so I will confess now: I don't know how any of their other dishes are and I have no plans to change that because I am stuck on vodka sauce. Creamy, so rich, smooth, flavorful, a teeny bit spicy. Save some of your bread to sop up sauce. Also, try the sausage in it. Freaking amazing. And of course the freshly made pasta is delightful. BEST PASTA QUALITY EVER! I had been disappointed with every single Italian restaurant in Reno until this place opened. The pasta quality is impeccable. I would rate it similar to or above the artisan pasta shops in little Italy of SD or that of Boston. I visited Italy a few years back, and stayed for 2 weeks and got to experience amazing pasta. I had missed that experience since we cannot travel anymore. Thankfully, Pasta Fresca is bringing a small part of Italy back to me. So grateful! Was surprised to see this restaurant rated higher than LaVecchia's AND Johnny's, so I had to check it out. Not disappointed! Italian is not my favorite food, but Pasta Fresca is my favorite Italian restaurant. They are not fancy with an extensive menu, but what they do have on the menu is fantastic. The sauces are complex and flavorful. The pasta is fresh and cooked al dente (which is how I prefer it.) The staff and owner...make it feel like you're visiting family. I'll jump on the bandwagon. Ordered food to go the other night after reading the reviews. I ordered, the Burrata ($5.95), the Spaghetti Vincenzo (Shrimp cappers in a cognac pink sauce for $14.95), the Ravioli of the Day ($16.95) today it was the saffron with ricotta, then both desserts Cannoli ($2.45) and the Tiramisu $4.95. We were going to get the lasagna to go, to cook the following night, but they didn't have it available that day. When I got to the restaurant, they have the tables spaces around the edges of the walls, and there were two tables taken. The restaurant is clean, and has updated check out system with the digital pad. There is a cold case by the register with take out containers of to go pasta and sauces. The portion size I saw for one of the pasta dishes looked huge! There were 4 or 5 employees, which actually surprised me, but i took it as a good sign. Dishwasher, I think a chef or two in what I am assuming is training, and I think the famous Paulo, as well as another older looking chef. There was a bit of confusion with my order, one of the items got messed up so I did have to wait a tiny bit longer than normal, but overall, everyone was super nice, and I didn't mind waiting. We dug in when we got home, the pasta come with portions of delicious finely crumbled cheese and little rolls of sliced bread. My husband annihilated the raviolis, i got a half of one, and they were indeed tasty, and decadent. My shrimp pasta was hearty and filling and the flavor was something I've never personally tasted, a little sweet, a little tangy, slight creaminess, the tomato was not overpowering at all. I really enjoyed the taste profile, different than anything I've been exposed to as far as italian goes. Also my pasta was perfect, I was hoping the chef would account for the travel time, and I wouldn't have soft pasta and it was perfectly aldente. The burrata was so damn fresh and light. The tomato had flavor imparted on it from the olive oil, seasoning and pesto, and the burrata itself was creamy, light, and barely tangy. A really nice addition to the pasta. The cannoli also was filling and hearty, a single one is a lot! I think we both preferred the tiramisu though just barely. Not heavy, light and creamy. Overall, we really enjoyed the meal, my husband also gave it 5 stars, and we both want to try other sauces, especially the lasagna or the Bolognese sauce! Great addition to the food scene, I hope that by having this simple yet expertly done menu, that they stay alive. Greatly under advertised. It has been opened for several months, but I just discovered this spot a couple of weeks ago. It's located in the southwest corner of a strip mall on Lakeside and Ridgeview in the former Taste of Thai location. Plenty of parking. Pasta isn't fine dining, nor it is fast food. Fresh pasta made daily. Spaghetti, rigatoni, ravioli and lasagna were in the menu the night I went. There were also five sauce choices. The table tried spaghetti with Bolognese, rigatoni with pink vodka sauce and spinach ravioli with ricotta cheese topped with white wine cream sauce. All the dishes were tasty and decent portion sizes. We were going to try a different pasta, but the owner removed it from the menu because he wasn't happy with it. We also tried a few starters- caprese, burrata on tomato halves, and lentil cream soup. I recommend the burrata over the caprese. Cheese and meat plates were were also available for starters. Also three items for dessert. Currently with covid, the city is slow in issuing Pasta's liquor license. So you are welcome to bring your own bottle of wine. They are happy to provide wine glasses and opener without corkage fee at this time. Also due to covid there is very limited inside seating- 6 tables if I remember correctly. So call for a reservation if you want to dine inside. While there, there was a huge to go business. Give them a try for authentic fresh pasta, I hear the chef is from southern Italy. read more

I'm just going to agree with all the praise this place has gotten. Everything is absolutely fresh. The pasta, clearly homemade and cooked al dente, is incredible. It is served with a fresh, crusty bread which is amazing to dip in some quality olive oil. The menu is small enough where you know everything is fresh. I ordered the spaghetti Vincenzo (?) with capers and shrimp. You get a good amount of big shrimp. It was cooked well and good quality. The capers give the creamy sauce a tang. The server told me all about how his brother created this dish and I'd love it - which I did! They have plenty of options to make your own combos or you can try one of the specialty plates - all very affordable for the quality and portion. Also, don't skip the cannoli - massive, fresh and delicious with lots of chocolate chips in the filling and dipped in crunchy pistachios. You will absolutely not be rushed - European style. And you may have to ask about the drinks they offer. The place is small but it does not feel like you're in a strip mall. Make a reservation - there are only 5-6 tables. It was my last night in Reno back in December and I was disappointed I found this place on my last night in town. This is a restaurant I will go to every time I'm back in town. The food is authentic Italian and it was fantastic. I had the Bolognese with fresh Fusilli pasta, caprese salad and fresh Italian bread. The food was spot on and the service was good. If you are looking for authentic Italian food this this is a place to go. If I lived in Reno I would definitely take advantage of the fresh pasta to go that they offer. I love discovering new restaurants, especially ones with such hard working and passionate owners. Not to mention, to open a restaurant in the middle of a pandemic is no easy feat, so I'm writing this review in hopes that we as a community can help sustain this wonderful and may I add, delicious, Italian restaurant. I present to you: Pasta Fresca! Let's start off with the owner and chef of this establishment. His name is Paolo and he has an absolutely cheerful and upbeat personality. Throughout our dinner service, he would occasionally check up on us to see how everything was. He showed his funny sense of humor when we told him that we created a business page on Yelp for him, he said to make sure to leave a bad review because everyone seems to talk about negative topics more often, creating more of a buzz throughout some communities. We all laughed and we assured him with sarcasm in our voices that we'd leave the nastiest of reviews for him. Like most Italians, Paolo grew up with a fairly large family with a passion for cooking. There's an old family photo on the back right corner of the restaurant; try to guess which one is Paolo! With the owner of Pasta Fresca established, let's move on to the interior and most importantly, the food! It's a fairly spaced restaurant with only a few tables against the walls, probably to follow COVID-19 guidelines. In the front of the restaurant stands a display case with uncooked pasta (rigatoni, spaghetti noodles and spinach spaghetti noodles) and their sauces. If you don't want to eat in, you can purchase whatever is in the display case and make a nice meal at home. We chose to eat in and their food was spot on! They have a fairly simple menu which makes deciding on what to get easy if you're indecisive like me. We started off on two appetizers: the Burrata chese and the Piatto de legno. Every bite of the Burrata chese was so refreshing; plump, juicy tomatoes with burrata topped with pesto sauce. Yum! The Piatto de legno came with three cheeses, bread, and bruschetta. Definitely a fun app to get amongst friends. When it came time to order our entrees, we ordered the following: Rigatoni and Bolognese, Regular Spaghetti with Bolognese and for me, the Spinach Spaghetti with their Vodka Spicy Pink Sauce. I love me a good Bolognese sauce but my favorite was my dish with the Vodka Spicy Pink Sauce! The sauce was thick and creamy and covered every nook and cranny of the spaghetti making every bite just as satisfying as the last. The spaghetti itself was a perfect texture. I'll let my room mates review their dishes (if they ever do) but I reassure you, we all left satisfied and happy. After our plates were cleared, we finished our meal with some Cannolis! When my room mate first told me about a new Italian restaurant in town, I was surprised that a business would open during these tough times. But when we met the chef and owner, Paolo, it was easy to understand that if anyone could do it, it would be him. Paolo has such a positive and spunky attitude towards life, being in his presence almost makes you forget we're living in a pandemic. From what we ordered, the food was flavorful and delicious. We adore this place and we love Paolo! We first met Paolo at the Farmer's Markets in town and loved bringing home his offerings to make at home. We have been into the restaurant several times and always left happy and with full bellies. We like getting the specials to try the current creative option and they NEVER disappoint! Our daughter is a fan of virtually everything on the menu as well! We love the ambiance of the restaurant, it totally reminds us of little spots in Italy from our travels- small and quaint with an open kitchen where you can see all the pasta being made in house! As soon as you enter your line of sight is immediately directed to the cold case where they have their many varieties of fresh pasta, sauces for the day and fresh mozzarella. You can dine in or take out. For this visit, we dined in for our date. Great setting for a quiet meal. Before we visited my husband called to learn of non dairy options and was told that the tomato Basil and bolognese did not contain dairy. My husband ordered the fusilli tomato basil with sausage and I ordered the pink peppercorn fusilli with the pink vodka sauce and sausage. The food arrived to the table and it looked delicious, immediately my husband noticed that his plate had sprinkled Parmesan all over it, he picked through what he could. My dish smelled good but as soon as I tasted it was immediately dissatisfied. The sauce had no flavor, no seasoning... just the flavor of cream and bitter garlic. I tried my husbands and again, no flavor just the flavor of wine and garlic cooked at high heat. Both dishes lacked seasoning. The sausage in the dish lend some flavor but for me, was gamey in flavor. The sauces just weren't good. The fresh pasta however was made very well. You definitely taste the difference with fresh pasta. We ordered a cannoli and WOW WOW star of the show, the ricotta was perfectly sweet and the shell was crispy crispy fresh. Mmm. We found Pasta Fresca from other Yelpers. We were in the area and it was nearby, getting away from the casino restaurants. The location is in a strip mall, which is in a residential area, not much traffic on the weekend. The restaurant is really small, probably some former takeout/sandwich shop. Luckily, were able to get a table without reservations. We had the ravioli tartufo and lasagna bolognese. The ravioli was good, but not great. We thought the truffles were somewhat underwhelming. The lasagna was very good, good flavor, and a nice portion. As for dessert, the tiramisu was very good, flavorful and light. The cannoli was okay, crunchy, creamy, but not real flavorful. Always my boyfriend and I's favorite date night and birthday spot. As someone whos been to Italy and loves pasta this is truly the best and closest to true Italian cuisine you can find in Reno. The owner is so kind and whenever he is in, personally comes to our table and catches up with us and makes sure everything is going well. The menu is simple and small which is something I enjoy. Rather than being overwhelmed with 40 mediocre dishes, there are a handful of amazing ones. Occasionally there are specials that are always fun to try and delicious. The service is always great with many recognizable faces which proves this is an enjoyable place to work. I recommend Pasta Fresca to everyone who enjoys real Italian cuisine. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and share specials. I had the linguine with bolognese sauce and added sausage. We came in on a weeknight after discovering this place on Yelp. It was central to our two parties and offered vegetarian options. The vibe comes off pretty casual and doesn't match the food at all! We ordered a bottle of wine for the table - the first Barbera on the menu (my favorite) and upon tasting it - I really felt that the wine had been stored improperly. I wish they had had a bottle open to compare because it tasted really off and sour and the smell was not right but sometimes it's hard to know if that's the style of wine or if it's truly off. By the time we poured glasses - you could see quite a bit of residue caked on to the side of the bottle. The waiter was quite young and maybe didn't know exactly what to offer or how to handle it. The complimentary bread was a nice touch but nothing to write home about but the pasta is where it's at! I ordered one of their special pastas - spaghetti Vincenzo and it was divine! It's a homemade spaghetti paired in a pink sauce with shrimp and capers and it was amazing. I only got a small bite of my fiancé's raviolis but based on his reaction - I would say he was totally satisfied! We also chose this place for the dessert - cannolis (my favorite) and tiramisu (his favorite) and at this point - there was no sharing. Pricing is decent the bill came out to $130 for 3 pasta dishes, 1 bottle of wine, and 3 desserts. If you want fresh pasta and some authentic Italian options, this is a great place to try! I have been here a couple of times and really enjoyed the flavors of my pasta dishes. We had a reservation for four people at 6pm on a Saturday night, but there were multiple open tables when we arrived. This time we shared the burrata as an appetizer which was light and fresh. Warm bread was brought out while we waited for our food. I ordered the spaghetti vincenzo and my husband created his own dish of rigatoni pasta with chicken and arrabiata sauce. The sauces were flavorful and portion sizes were good. My spaghetti was clumped together in a couple of spots, but otherwise was cooked well. Our server was very thorough at checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed; he promptly brought us a new water pitcher when we were running low, refilled our bread, and came by regularly to attend to our needs. They also have pre-made pastas that you can take home and cook yourself. They sell these at the farmers market as well, I have bought some of their orecchiette to make at home before and it was delicious. My only suggestion would be to add a few more specialty pastas to the menu that are already set combinations of pastas, meats, and sauces. There were only four of these on the menu last night. We started with the Burrata appetizer which comes with tomato and a small dollop of pesto. This could be a meal on its own. Very delicious but I would like to try again when homegrown tomatoes are in season. My companion ordered the penne bolognese and I had the spaghetti with marinara. Generous portions even for lunch. Their menu is very short and sweet. limited to only specials and of course build your own pasta. Their pasta is fresh made and you can tell in the dishes. the sauces (spicy vodka sauce is amazing) compliment the pastas incredibly, Great dishes to note: Lobster Ravioli, and Mushroom Ravioli with pesto drizzle. if you ask them they will recommend a great wine to pair with the dishes.
