    Salami and Broccoli Rape

Wow- Does a sandwich get much better? Fresh NY Italian bread or a nice soft Ciabatta. I opted for a special imported salami called Golfetta which is actually low fat but has the softness of a high quality Prosciutto. I added fresh mozzarella and broccoli rape to the sandwich. Find a better Italian sandwich anywhere and let me know!! Took home a fresh mozz as well and it was glorious. They also have dry aged steaks in the middle counter which I've had in the past and are delicious and a decent price ! Great selection of fresh pastas and fresh ravioli which are brought in daily from Brooklyn. Yummm The store is clean and the workers are helpful and friendly. It's in a weird location but easily accessible to the Staten Island expressway and they have a private parking lot.

Great Italian specialty shop with plenty of fresh antipast! Highly recommend the cheese raviolis as well!

Friendly nice people who work there and own it. One day I was having some people over and I went to Pastosa for there homemade garlic toast rounds to but Brushetta on them as a little appetizer. They were completely out of them they couldn't make them in the timeframe I had. One of the people who work there saw how disappointed I was and went into the kitchen to get me there actual recipe on exactly how to make them myself. They actually took the time to explain how to make them and I bought everything I needed to go home to replicate these delicious garlic round toasts. They even cut up the Italian breads into the right size pieces. What a wonderful thing to do for me. In addition their prepared food is always fresh and delicious and this made this particular Pastosa SPECIAL TO ME.

The pizza is excellent and the vibe has that old school family feeling. Like a place where you take your family on a kid's milestone birthday. Schlepping all the way out to Staten Island for this pizza was a risk I decided to take, and it paid off. The restaurant is close by the Staten Island Railway, and inside feels like a true Italian pizzeria, but not like one you would see in Brooklyn. This one is more high quality, and it shows in their pizza. The pizza is phenomenal. Outstanding. I got two pies, one red and one white, for contrast and both are worthy of terrific merits. El Naso, the red pie, is beautiful in color and taste. The porky sausage and the hot soppresata add a nice flavor to the pie, the crispy crust, it was all lining up nicely to be a great pie. I am happy I went with my gut and got this. For my white pie suggestion, I asked my server, Leslie (more on her in a moment), what to get. She suggested El Pizzaiolo. Like the red pie, it tastes gorgeous thanks to the silky and luxurious truffle oil. The crimini mushrooms and Italian sausage accentuate it beautifully and the Parmesan reggiano cheese provides a sharp, salty note to the pie. It rounds the whole thing out nicely. Leslie is one of the reasons I enjoyed my experience. At first I thought she was just a tease with her giggly and youthful demeanor, but after talking to her I found something more deeper and meaningful. There is a depth of intelligence that she has but a naïveté that needs to be cracked before her. The fact that tips mean nothing to her speak volumes about who she is. I really wanted to give her something significant to take home with her, but fun conversation and the fact she is mentioned here will be enough for now for this attractive, lissome soul. Since both pies filled me up nicely, I had to pass on dessert. But I promised that down the line I will be back because the pizza is just so darn good. Leslie, thank you for the lovely experience and I hope someone sees my compliment and gives you a little extra in your next paycheck. You deserve it. Like this pizzeria well deserving of a five star review.

We sat ourselves and then 15 minutes later we received our waters. bread came out at around the 20 minute mark. We didn't put in our drink and food orders until being there for about 30 minutes. Put our order in, server doesn't write anything down, but that's alright seen plenty of servers work that way. Appetizer comes out 25 minutes later, and the calamari was pretty good. So now we have Been here more than an hour, which is alright I guess but longer then usual from my experiences before reconfiguring a main dish. Then after the the appetizer gets taken away we then wait another 30 minutes for our main dish. We start getting antsy and hungry and the server comes up and tells me the food should be out soon. Great! Wait another 10 minutes and server comes back and asks me what I ordered and my date. I respond and tell him shouldn't you know that? At this point he goes back and asks my date after she is coming back from bathroom what she ordered and now they have our order and hour and a half later. Server comes back and I ask him how much longer until we get our food, to which he says the tickets got lost in the kitchen and should be another 10 minutes. We wait another 10 minutes and nothing, ask server again and couldn't tell us when food will be ready. Will not be recommending this restaurant or returning. What a shame.
