Really great hidden gem in Orange!! Staff is very nice and friendly, I got the steak sandwich with the onions and cheese and it was legit. All the pastries look delicious and I'm not a big sweets person but these are just tempting you haha one day I'll breakdown and get one for sure. They play the soccer matches on the weekends which I like. Overall I recommend and will return to get a sandwich and beer and catch a game, cheers!! read more

I came here to pick up dinner for a large party here. To start off, I had six different orders and the cashier was able help me separately pay for each order, which I know was a little complicated. He was very patient and helpful as they got everything correctly and quickly. While I brought home 26 empanadas for the total order, I personally got 5 for myself. Each empanada is $3-3.50 each and they're all sold individually. They number each flavor with a stamp on the corner of the empanada, but some numbers can be difficult to identity. It's still a pretty clever idea though. For my flavors, I got sweet beef, creamy corn, chipotle pork, spicy beef, and jalapeño cheese onion. The empanadas were all pretty nice-sized and flavorful. There was only one of the meat ones that I was super into, but the rest were yummy. My favorite was the jalapeño cheese onion flavor and all the spicy/chipotle ones had a really nice kick of spice. I did take a bite of the spicy shrimp which was a bit mushy (agreeing with some of the other reviews to pass on that one). Great spot for some empanadas for sure. I'd say 2-3 is good per person, but they're great as leftovers as well. read more

Went to the Asada Barbecue and it was worth Every Penny. I love the ambiance, food and the service. The owner goes above and beyond with great care and attention to detail. If you haven't been for the Asada Barbecue make your reservation NOW this was my 4th time !! The dessert are to die for. Remember to top off your meal with a Tart and a Cortado ! We went there around 7 pm on 10/16 and were told that it would take 30 minutes for the steak. That was the item we wanted to have and since we didn't have time to wait that long for a steak, we ordered a Fish and a Chicken and the food was tasteless. The tap for 2 was $60 for an absolute awful food. Will avoid the place in the future read more

Came her on my way to LA. Small detour up the 55 north. Place is small and displays are filled w/ desserts. Not an empanada in sight! Walked tot he counter and the gentleman helped me - chipotle chicken was spicy! - Arabic had a distinctive lemony taste. Bright w a hint of rind. Kids loved Onion and cheese was sweet w caramelized onions. Ham and cheese was an easy sell. For dessert we had tiramisu w/ coffee. Dessert was sweet and rich. Thankfully not sugary. Coffee was a perfect compliment. Come for lunch, stay for dessert. read more

I love this family owned Argentinian restaurant. The empanadas are on point. My favorite one has to be the sweet beef empanada. It's very simple filling, perfectly spiced and the breading is perfect. Also, love the sweet corn one because it's creamy, cheesy and such a unique flavor. Secret: they have great desserts, pastries (bomb alfajores) as well and lattes to go with them. Grab an empanada, a cup of coffee and eat them outside on their patio! A great breakfast and brunch spot. read more

Empanadas are made fresh to order! I ordered the chipotle chicken and arab empanada. The arab empanada as other yelpers have mentioned has a distinct lemony taste, but it is not too overpowering! The chipotle chicken empanada packed quite the punch. It was spicy and full of flavor! The empanadas took less than 10 minutes to make and comes with a side of chimichurri! Highly recommend eating with the sauce because it adds an additional layer of flavor from the herbs. The empanadas were hot and delicious. One is not enough, just saying! I regret only getting one for myself to try. Ill definitely be coming back to this spot when im in the area. read more

I called this place because I needed a last minute treat for fathers day and asked if I could pay over the phone and if they'd be willing to leave it outside, that I'd be willing to take the chance as they were the only ones I could find that sold alfajores. The said they'd wait the 15min till I got there after closing and they did! So sweet and the cookies were AMAZING :) so soft and perfectly sweetened, I'll def be back to try the food next, thank you! read more

No acostumbro dejar reviews, no es la primera vez que vengo a este lugar, pero esta vez quise pedir algo distinto y me sentí estafada y decepcionada, pedí una entraña a la chimichurri con ensalada rusa dejandome llevar por la foto del menu y después de esperar casi 40 minutos con la expectativa de recibir un buen plato como el de la foto recibí fue la mitad de lo que muestra el menú me arrepiento de no haberle tomado foto para dejarles la prueba. Can this place get any more cozy and welcoming? It's feels like it's family owned and run as soon as you walk in. The unique selection of pastries will be hard for you to only get one. The food items are authentically Argentinian. One of the gentleman that greeted was so friendly with a smile on him which made me feel more welcomed. read more

I stopped by on a recent Thursday morning after work, right after they opened at 9 A.M. I was greeted but not in a warm, welcoming way. Maybe the lady behind the counter was pissed I interrupted her morning coffee and pastry time when I entered. I was still wanting to try these empanadas that have so many glowing Yelp reviews that I overlooked the cold greeting, especially after I advised her this was my first time trying empanadas. While I was not offered any suggestions, I glanced at the menu and made my choices: Beef (#1), Chicken (#2), Spinach (#6), Spicy Beef (#13) and Spicy Chicken (#14) for a pre-tax pricing of $12.50. I decided to just choose the all cooked ones instead of the pre-baked/finish baking at home ones. I was told to have a seat and the wait time would be about seven minutes. While I waited, another couple came in sans face masks. Despite the signage on the door requiring patrons to be masked, the were not asked to wear theirs by staff. My wait time was over and I was called to the counter to gather my order. When I got home, there were five golden colored, baked empanadas with two very small complimentary containers of chimichurri sauce. I was appreciative that each empanada had the identifying number (which filling) that one could match to the enclosed empanada guide that was included with my order. We split all of them so all four of my family members could sample each one to determine which empanadas they liked. The non-spicy beef and chicken ones were balanced with flavor and seasoning, enjoyed by all. The spicy beef and chicken were my personal favorites as the beef one reminded me of the potato balls sold at Porto's. The spinach one was filled with a creamy spinach mixture that we all would order more of as well. Despite the moist filling, the dough did not become soggy, even when reheated in an oven. All of the empanadas were five inches (5") in length. read more

They have the best assortment of Empanadas. Everyone is courteous and helpful. The shop is clean comfortable. I have been going there for several years. I always buy a dozen or so and freeze them, so I have them when I need them. If you have the urge for Empanadas this the place to go. read more

We usually take our empanadas to go. We like the spicy beef, cheese & jalapeno, and sundried tomato the best, but you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. Make sure to use the green sauce, and order extra if you need to! They're very nice, and the to-go orders only take about 10 minutes to prepare. read more

I needed a snack on my way home before a meeting. This place came up as having the best empanadas. Our family is still in search of a place that makes empanadas since our local one closed down. Daughter and I decided to give it a try. She was interested in the many dulce de leche desserts. The many desserts in the cases were tempting. I was drawn by the chocolate flan cake and the chaja cake seemed to be popular given that there were only 2 slices of that left. Husband was still texting his order when we got to the counter to be helped by whom I believed to be the owner. There were menus on the counter which he directed us to for our selection. We ordered beef, spinach, chicken, and 2 chipotle pork with raja empanadas. We were so carried away with ordering the 2 pieces of cake and the empanadas that we forgot to order the fruit tarts and bread pudding. We'll have to order them the next time we are in the area. Order would need 7 minutes to be up. I'm not into the spicy empanadas as my husband is so I liked the spinach empanada which had cheese and will need to order the sweet empanadas next time. Daughter was pleasantly surprised by the layer of flan in the chocolate flan cake. The chocolate lovers preferred the chocolate flan over the chaja cake. We can't wait to try more of the other desserts. read more

Food is what is expected. However, upon ordering/paying, there was an issue with the 4% "cash discount offered". The menu states that empanadas are $3.75 each. However, a 4% discount on $3.75 should be $3.60 if paying with cash. That would mean that paying with credit card, there should be no discount ($3.75 each). However, upon paying with a credit card (non-cash), I was charged $3.90 per empanada, meaning the bill was tacked on an additional charge. This is blatant FALSE ADVERTISING! It's not the money I had to pay in extra charges (about $2 for the total bill). For me it's the idea of tricking unsuspecting people into using a "nickel and diming" technique to line the pockets of the restaurant with hundreds of extra dollars per month and not being truthful to their clients who keep them in business. To make things worse, two cashiers tried to play it down, which makes me think that they were in on the scheme. Management should either look into this and/or make the necessary changes before facing legal consequences. The experience left me with a REALLY BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH...... read more

I love this place, I really do. Love the owner, Jorge, and have been eating his delicious empanadas since he first opened at his old location. But tonight, I ordered a dozen meat empanadas and 6 ham and cheese. I got there a few minutes before the 20 minutes I was told to come by in. Jorge wasn't there. I was given my empanadas and went to my car to drive home. Couldn't wait until I got home to eat one so I pulled a meat one out to eat while I was driving. It was raw in the middle. Continued home thinking it might of been that just one but unfortunately all were undercooked. I get it. Mistakes happen and I'm not going to let it affect my overall opinion of this place. But yelp exists for a reason, and I hope Jorge will see this to try and ensure it doesn't happen again. read more

Came here to specifically try their Asado (Argentinian BBQ) as we were having an Argentinian themed party and I wanted to try their meats before placing a large catering order. They are located in a nondescript strip mall in Orange. There is parking available in the lot that they share with other businesses. This is a hole-in-the-wall, casual type of place. You order & pay at the cashier, take a seat and they bring your food to you. Upon arrival, the owner and cashier were friendly and helpful. I happened to arrive around 11am and there were a few customers that were finishing up breakfast. Their menu is diverse as they offer both breakfast and lunch/dinner items. They are known for their pizza, pasta, empanadas, Argentinian BBQ and bakery items. As mentioned, I went there specifically to try their Asado, and I had called prior to arrival to make sure they had it. The menu lists 7 different Argentinian meats for $22, but the owner said they didn't have all of the meats available. Unfortunately I only got 4 out of the 7 meats that were listed on the menu. The 4 meats I got were flap steak, skirt steak, pork ribs and sausage, plus it came with fries and chimichurri sauce. He asked if it'd be okay to cook the meats "medium" and I said yes. That was my fault, as I should've asked for medium rare. The meats were overly cooked for my liking. They were also pretty salty. The fries were nothing special either. Their saving grace was the chimichurri sauce, which was delicious! I also liked the fact that they sold Inka Cola there. I did not end up placing my catering order with them, as I wasn't impressed with their Asado. I'm giving them 3 stars based on their BBQ meats, but I would return again and try their empanadas and other menu items. read more

I'm not from Argentina, so I really don't know how things should taste, but came with a friend who is, and his comment was: it's Al right! Lol. We ordered some empanadas, and I thought they were good. We ordered some pastries and they were good, but the custard tasted like lemon. Im not a fan of that, but my fiancée loved it. I've been meaning to try Patagonia Empanadas for ever, and so glad I finally got around to it. We came here one evening to get some empanadas for take out. The restaurant is very homey and warm, with nice covered outdoor seating, and lots of wood paneling and Argentinian decor inside. The service was also warm and friendly, and they helped us choose from the different empanada options. I tried several of the empanadas and my favorite were the chipotle chicken. If you're into wines, they seem to have an incredible selection as well. Overall, this is a nice spot and worth checking out at least once. read more

Wow the empanadas here are so delicious and flavorful! I've been to two popular empanada places before and both places fell a little short. This place knocks it out of the water! The pastry is crunchy and not too thick. I got the beef, spicy beef, and ham and cheese. Personally I thought the beef ones were really good but I could pass on the ham and cheese next time. What made the empanadas really enjoyable to eat were definitely the dipping sauce! Definitely will be coming back :) read more

Finally tried this place. It's been here in Orange for 9+ years. Very friendly greeting and very helpful staff, considering we were new comer's. We were doing carry out for an evening event picnic. We selected three different types of empanadas: beef, chicken and spinach. All were delicious! Perfect hand held and delectable food. Keep in mind that they are baked to order take about 15 minutes. So, if your in a hurry, call your order in when your on your way! Highly recommend! We will return!! read more

The carne asada was tough and lacked flavor, and the beans honestly tasted canned and bland. Again, I could overlook some of this if the food were reasonably priced, but this plate is over $30. On a positive note, the patacón con todo was good, chorizo had flavor and the jugo de lulo en agua was good and refreshing. Overall, the experience was just okay. It's disappointing to see a place I used to enjoy lose some of its quality over the years. Unfortunately, for the price, I'll probably go elsewhere for Colombian food in the future

I have…read moretried chimichurri sauces from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's but they aren't really very authentic. A friend recommended seeing what El Gaucho might have, so I visited the next day. The market is easy to spot with a big street sign out front. There are only two parking spots in front, one is a handicapped space. There's plenty of parking around the back though. When you walk in, you will see the main market with lots of items and brands I've never seen before. Slightly to the right is their deli counter with lots of meats, cheeses, and other miscellaneous items. To the right of the entrance is a dining area, and another counter where you can order sandwiches, empanadas, pizza, French fries, and drinks. I was laser focused on getting the chimichurri and leaving since I was short on time. It is in plastic bottles in plain view on on top of the deli counter. I purchased the regular variety, but they also have a spicy version. I could already tell this was going to be way better than the other two sauces I tried. I've had it on a steak, and on my breakfast scrambled eggs, and it's in a whole different league from the grocery versions I tried. It looks just like a restaurant chimichurri, oil based with lots of herbs and spices. I just had a nice filet mignon with chimichurri at a good Argentinan restaurant last week, and this chimichurri is about 90% as good. I moved it from the plastic bottle it comes in to a glass jar which will hopefully help preserve it longer, and store it in the refrigerator. I now have no reason to look elsewhere for chimichurri. My friend visits here periodically and says the sandwiches are excellent. I'll have to return again to try one, get more chimichurri, and explore the market and deli to see what other goodies they have.

Finally made a trip to the mainland, made off with my daughter's car, and headed down the 22 for some Spanish bread. I ordered a box of 20 STAXX, and six assorted donuts. While waiting for some freshly BAD-baked STAXX, kid behind the counter helped me pick some donuts cuz I was overwhelmed by all this BAD-assery. I started off with the golden latte. It was a beautifully balanced turmeric latte with almond milk with a perfect amount of sweetness. Not only was it gut healing, but it's super warming on a chilly morning. While I was looking over the menu, I was between the breakfast burrito since everybody was ordering it or the soft scramble with chili oil. I landed on the soft scrambled chili crunch. It was served with a half avocado and rye toast the others in our party ordered pancakes, bacon, a chicken sandwich and a Yuzu drink. Everything came out in a timely manner and beautifully plated. I absolutely loved the soft scramble on Rye. It was a perfect serving size as well as hitting the spot for a not so traditional breakfast. As we're sitting there, I noticed everybody was ordering the lemon ricotta pancakes, so I could not resist and ordered some as well. I will say the most underwhelming part of that was the lemon ricotta pancakes due to the ratios for the pancake pancakes and lemon ricotta. Overall, my experience was spectacular. I cannot wait to go back to Bluestone Lane to try other menu items.

These are reasons why it didn't add up 1) empty seats inside but had a line since 3pm and beer was released at 4pm 2) I don't think the people going for younger would just order one beer and not try other RR beers? 3) only one guy working beer counter and having to clean the tables and make sandwiches? 4) 12 oz pours of beer and keg with about 1984 oz would make it 166 beers. No way they sold 166 beers in an hour with one person working the bar and shop empty in an hour. They could have posted on their instagram or socials that they sold out but failed to do so. I'm sure a lot of people all night were disappointed to see that they didn't have it or post anything about it.

This morning after running errands we decided to visit Patagonia Empanadas; we got to the restaurnat it around 1:30pm so our tummies needed FOOD (WHEN I SAW THE BILL) I figured everyone was hungry because after placing the order our bill was $141.46 (including tip) **PLEASE NOTE at this establishment you pay at the same time the order is placed** We decided to sit outside in the covered patio area, the weather was nice and it is a comfortable patio area. We waited for the food and enjoyed a little FIFA while waiting for our meal. And because it had been a while since my last visit I had forgotten how BIG and delicious the EMPANADAS are. So needless to say we ordered way too much food but the BEST thing about having leftovers is not having to cook. As mentioned the empanadas are delicious and big, so FYI if you go there leave room for dessert because the pastry is OUT OF THIS WORLD! read more

Empanadas are simply hot pockets...the Argentina cuisine is good because it is piping hot out of the oven. Depending on the filling it can be very good. The tuna has vegetable with it...tasty. The ground beef has bell peppers...very good as well. The salad is simply lettuces with tomatoes and onion with a vinegar based dressing--nothing special. For about $8 this breakfast combo with a drink is a fair deal especially in OC. This is a ok place. (P.S. Always be nice...I ordered a breakfast combo. It contains a fruit cup. The owner, George did not have time to buy fruits, so I simply ask for a salad as a substitute, and I was nice about it. He gave me two pieces of the bake good, Alfajor de Maicena. Amazing naturally arranged empanadas. They turn out steaming from the stove, so you gotta be persistent and not to attempt to wolf everything down and consume bejeezus out of your mouth. Give the reckoning a chance to develop! The Arab one had a fascinating tart kick. The chipotle ones had an ideal level of zestiness, be admonished: it would be genuinely hot for the individuals who don't ordinarily eat much zesty. The sweet corn and spinach combined well to offset the feast. Since the name of the place is about Patagonian empanadas, that is the thing that I got. My wife and I went to Patagonia Empanadas for lunch. The restaurant is in a small strip mall across from a large shopping mall. They have both inside and patio seating. The restaurant is clean and well kept and the staff is polite and helpful. We tried a variety of empanadas: beef, chicken, corn, ham and cheese and spinach. Of the group, the chicken was my favorite, although the others were not bad. I probably would not order the corn again. Prices were very reasonable. We also tried the Dulce de leche cannoli and was okay. All-in-all it was a satisfactory lunch. If you're in the mood to try empanadas, I recommend Patagonia Empanadas. read more

Great atmosphere and friendly staff , in addition to the variety of empanada flavors. My personal favorites are the sweet beef, spicy shrimp, and spinach varieties...but I still have a bunch more flavors to try. Everything is made on the spot from you ordering it, so it takes a good 10 minutes or so to receive your food...but the quality is great and you can tell it's all fresh ingredients made by this family-owned restaurant. I found a hair in my food. No apology. No offer to comp the food. Um...I don't want your hairy beef. I want to just not pay for your hairy beef. And an apology would be nice too. Even when I asked the manager to take the beef off the bill since we couldn't eat it, he said no. We had to argue for five minutes before he finally did. Next time wear a hair net. Oh, and as an aside, there is a "manager" that is a raging lunatic b&$*% for no apparent reason. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for so long, never really having tried Argentinian food. Not bad, but not great, probably won't be coming back here. I tried the beef, the "Arab", chicken, and onion & cheese empanadas all with the vinegary chimichurri sauce. They all taste very similar, and all not that strong in flavor. It doesn't look like it but it tastes like theres a high ratio of dough to filling, further making it feel like it's lacking flavor. The tiramisu was pretty good though! read more

What a great experience. I have only had empanadas from places that didn't specialize in them, and have been disappointed. Now I know what they are supposed to taste like! These are unbelievable, and the variety available makes having a meal here something you can do everyday without repeating the flavors. I tried the Chipotle Beef Empanada and the Spicy Chicken Empanada. Both were fabulous, and completely different. Bring a friend and enjoy. read more

This is a nice place to go have some empanadas. The reason why I am not giving 5 stars is that the veggie empanada (made of spinach) feels a bit slimy. The chicken ones are very good and they taste better if you reheat them at home. About the salsa they give you with the empanadas all i can say is...i do not understand it, it is not spicy, it is more like a salad dressing. The customer service is very good. read more

This is the go to empanada restaurant in southern california. I like the quality and freshness even more than Porto's. We had the beef, sweet beef, chicken and corn. The chimichurri sauce adds just the right amount of tartness to the light sweetness of the empanada pastry. The dessert pastries are also a must have. The dulce de Leche cannoli is a culinary masterpiece. Really good stuff. read more

This place it is a little gem. I enjoyed every time I went and every meal I got. My wife got addicted to their empanadas and the chimichurri. You can also watch your favorite soccer game in a calm environment. I know they are closed right now since they are moving to a new location. All in all, the food and service here is excellent. Empanadas are clearly homemade and taste excellent. The empanadas are very reasonably priced at less than $3 per empanada, meaning I can feed several people for no more than $20. I will certainly continue to support this restaurant with zero hesitation. read more

I tried all the flavors of empanadas that they sell here and I narrowed the list down to one empanada in my opinion. that is their chipotle beef one. its just bursting with a great ground beef flavor, zesty and spicy and hearty as well.
