Called in for an order for mexican breakfast burritos. When I picked them up they charged me more than expected and they put me down for mixed burritos which cost more. They didn't seem to care for the mistake and only offered to remake them. I called them in ahead of time cause didn't have time to wait so remaking them wasn't going to help. They made me feel like I was the bad guy like a damn karen which I wasn't cause I ended up paying extra and took that they gave me. I dont know why it took us so long to try this place. 3 words - fried mushrooms and ranch. Omg the fried mushrooms are to dieeeee for - crispy, perfectly battered, huge juicy mushrooms - its the perfect combination. It's like soooo addicting and good. One order is enough for two people! Its huuuge the portion. And the ranch - one if the best ranch dipping sauce ever - better than wingstop, red robins, rubys diner like this is the ranch you can dip everything into!! I have wanted to try this place since living in OC and finally got around to it! I love little diners like this. The food did not disappoint! We got a classic cheeseburger, chili cheese fries, onion rings, a pastrami sandwich, and taquitos. I absolutely LOVED the zucchini! Its super flavorful, and has a crunchy bite to it. I like that the zucchini is firm inside and not soggy. Cheeseburger was good, can't go wrong with a classic. The chili cheese fries were good but could have used a bit more flavor in my opinion. Best practice: if you're calling in a phone order, ask the person on the receiving end about their opinion on the food item you're about to choose. You will always be surprised what they will tell you about their food. So last week I was really in the mood for a Gyro sandwich and out of the blue I remembered Paul's Place offered one. When I called in my phone order, I already knew what I wanted but I wanted to see what this person was about to say. this young woman answered the phone and was really polite, and said we offer a choice of meat and I asked her my Qs and had them make it with Lamb, and to her recommendations. The meat was sliced just right, the portion size, the flavor, and the bread crisp of the edges and soft in the middle. It was delicious. Having extra made it that much better. Now bc I like to eat, I didn't take any photos I just began eating without realizing I didn't snap a photo and trust assure I'll return and take a photo and do another review. Ps: there onion rings were #mfkn scrumptious. If you add a little cinnamon to their recipe, that much better! read more

It has been about 15 years since I worked in this area and frequently came to Paul's at this location. Today, I came in for their breakfast burrito. The taste and quality is still as great as I remember. I have yet to have a bad experience here. Highly recommend their breakfast burritos. Love their fried zucchini and gyro sandwich! Sandwich doesn't look big, but it's stuffed full of meat and toppings. Zucchini is thick and juicy, fried to crispy perfect on outside. Their pastrami was pretty good, on the drier side though compared to other places - I would personally not order again. Chili cheese fries were very small in size and was just alright in terms of taste. Prices are on the higher end, would consider this as gourmet fast food. Small parking lot, drive through available. They only let kids decide from the kids menu and nothing else and there are only four options also the wait was long so if you have a kid that doesn't want the kids menu options I recommend just ordering it yourself. read more

Everybody raves about their patty melt. Well I ordered one and was very disappointed. Only one side was spread with butter, and only in the middle. The other side was just a greasy mess. A proper patty melt should have the butter spread from edge to edge so when you bite into it you get the crunch. Also some patty melts have one patty on top of another, and for 6.99 I expected more meat than the small piece I got. Had to wait 25 min in line for this mess! read more

I have been coming to this Paul's place location for years. This is the second time that I have come on a Sunday and this is the last time I come on a Sunday. If I ever come back, it will be during the week. I know all cooks don't cook with love and it shows in their food, the cooks on the weekend do a horrible job. We were in the area and came across Paul's Place. We've been to the one in Los Alamitos and liked the food there. The food here was great as well. I had a cheeseburger and fries but my son had the chili cheese hot dog and it was not only big but he said it was really good. Nice bite and tasty chili with plenty of cheese. My hubby had the double bacon cheeseburger protein style and he loved it. Something I appreciate from this location was the indoor seating. They have some seating outside as well. The other location has concrete floors, concrete tables and a concrete like ceiling which kinda makes you feel like you're in a cave . This Buena Park location also has a drive-thru which is convenient. Both locations have great service and friendly staff, although I think this location is a little faster than the Los Alamitos location. Now we have a great place to eat after a visit to Knotts, it's only 5 minutes away. read more
