Drove out here 20 minutes to try their banana dream matcha, I sat down & I heard the baristas complaining about how long it takes to make it (a minute supposedly) & saying something along the lines of being tired that multiple people in a row kept ordering it.I'd rather them take it off the menu instead, or wait until I left to complain about it. Great ambiance and easy place to do remote work. Cold brew is nice and strong with a great flavor profile. Avocado toast was super yummy, but a little messy. The ambiance was pleasant, and I really liked the dim lighting. Good service. The cheese danish I had was good, but it wasn't life changing personally. The drink was good! I took a star off for how comfortable it would be here if you wanted a place to get work done. The seating is not ergonomic at all! The cashier was rude, seems like race is the answer. When I ordered, she gave a rude gesture, no care in the world. Even the baristas were rude. After taking the order, there was a white couple behind me and the cashier gave a smile and her attitude changed. The barista making the coffee was rude pointing out where the food is going to be placed. It seems like race is an issue basically saying "If you aren't white, we won't give good service", just because I'm brown, which is CRAZY to me. I wouldn't recommend coming to this place with that type of attitude and privilege. Attitude is disgusting! read more

First time was a charm. Tried a new place and pleased for sure. The interior is pleasant, comfortable brick walls. Spacious interior holds a real wood community table. There are many tables indoors as well with plenty of room to be with others, but apart at the same time. The staff today is most pleasant. Do wish they wore masks as they work with drinks for others; covid is on the rise in the now winter months. Otherwise, a great experience. There is some outdoor seating for the nicer, warmer days. The summer peach tea is awesome and I ordered two. $4 each for 20 oz cup is a lot compared to a few other places around the size, but charm and the good experience helps make up for that. Located on a major road as well as the end of an outdoor line of businesses, it is easy to find this place. Parking lot affords a lot of room. Definitely will come again. read more

Have been here on n off since they opened up shop simply because of its proximity to my home. The space is great to hang out but that's about it. Drinks have never been consistent.. for example I ordered a cappuccino and watched the barista let the steamed milk stand on the counter while making other drinks. I ended up getting a small cup of steamed milk with absolutely no texture. Just a hot cup of milk with some espresso in it. Before that I'd be served a small cup with milk SO hot I couldn't even sip it. Think it's time to move on for me. read more

Pause Coffee House in Fair Oaks is definitely my favorite coffee shop, seems like they have truly figured out how to make a great tasting cup of coffee, I believe the selection of coffee they use and the freshness of it turns out awesome taste. I normally buy a single shot late with a pastry or a bagel with cream cheese, check out the menu they have a few more food selections. Great coffee and great service! The barista making the drinks was so kind and asked me if I wanted any sweetener in my matcha latte. I wasn't sure what the options were, so he asked if he could surprise me. And I agreed. My hot matcha latte was delicious and not too sweet but also not bitter. The cafe was very busy for a late Wednesday morning, and there were not many seats open. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and some couches toward the back. They also have pastries available, but it looks like they run out pretty quickly. That shows how popular this local coffee shop is. If I lived closer I would come by more often. read more

This coffee shop is super close to me, and I love to stop by when I can. Their drinks are consistent in quality, their service is as quick as they can be for how BUSY they get during peak hours. Employees are extremely helpful and always working hard. In my most recent visit, I got to try the strawberry matcha with oatmilk. It was DELISH. The strawberries were super fresh and the matcha was quality. I look forward to trying their food items next time around. Not to mention, the seating is great and its a super large space! read more

We came in to order chai latte, and we did purchase lattes. They gave us hot water with tea bags, I had to ask for milk. A latte always has milk, and usually is sweetened with honey or at least has the syrup that has sweetener in it. She asked if we wanted sweetener, I asked if it didn't already have it, she said the syrup did. Ok I was fine with that. But it was just hot water with a tea bag. The girls were nice enough but don't seem to understand what the products should be. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. I went in 3 different times and it was extremely packed every single time which is usually a good sign. The first time the line was out the door and there was absolutely no space inside at all when it was 102 outside. So I decided to come back a different time. The second time the espresso machine was down so they only had cold brew. Came back for a third time and man was I disappointed. Ordered a mocha and latte and both were thrown away after 1 sip. They tasted extremely burnt and the mocha had a sour taste like the milk was bad. Not to mention it was quite expensive for smalls. I will never be coming back here and cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

The treats are always a great way to eat some breakfast. Always seems fresh and healthy. I have always been impressed with the wonderful and fast service there is. (I've been coming here for over 4 years with my partner.) the only problem I have is very rarely some of the drinks will be inconsistent with flavor compared to other times they have made the same drink. Who knew that a coffee date could be so much fun?!? "Pause" is the place to relax, and truly enjoy a great cup of coffee. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and when I was trying to decide what to order they were incredibly patient and made some great suggestions, and my specialty coffee was born. They had a lovely variety of danish and breakfast items to nosh on, and they all paired well with the amazing variety of coffee drinks. Pause is spacious, and I could totally see making this a regular hang out if I lived closer. Seating is super comfortable, and as a diners tip, if you do plan on hanging out for any period of time, whether you're enjoying time with friends, working, or even having a coffee date, it's obvious that the earlier you arrive, the more seating choices you will have. Parking was pretty easy, price is pretty reasonable, and the place is kept super clean. If you haven't been here, definitely make a point of stopping in if you're in the Fair Oaks area. I was looking in the area for a place to meet with someone that had internet and coffee and Pause was our choice. I started with a recommendation from the barista, a white chocolate mocha, and ended up with a cold brew later on. Both tasted great and I was well caffeinated after my meeting. They had a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating and Wi-Fi which makes it easy to get some work done while sipping your drinks. They have a food menu, growlers of coffee and other drinks like kombucha available as well. I was tempted to buy one of their big to go containers of coffee, but opted for a regular iced maple latte to put in the fridge for tomorrow. read more

I love when coffee shops use whole milk instead of percent milk. The latte was made perfectly as I only asked for a drop of vanilla. Shoutout to whoever the gentlemen who made my drink this morning was! Not only was i thirsty, i was also hungry! Hahaa so i got an avocado toast to try and that didn't not disappoint one bit. I went with the sunrise and ended up killing the whole thing! Egg was perfectly runny, avocado was fresh while perfectly mushy, toast was soft but crunchy. Every time I come to Pause I'm questioning why I don't come more often. Then I remember that I'm usually headed in the opposite direction and they close kinda early in the evening. Regardless of these factors, when I'm headed east I enjoy dropping in for a drink on the go. Pause has some of my top requirements nailed down: delicious coffee, oat milk on hand, and a chill vibe. Would I love to see outdoor seating? Absolutely, but it's not going to happen at this location given where they're situated in a strip mall. If I was looking for a relaxing place to camp out with a laptop (and if I actually did that kind of thing) then this would be my kind of place. The lighting is good, the music isn't too loud, and the baristas are friendly too. Pause really doesn't have competition in this part of town, but if they really wantes to knock it out of the park then I expect to see some edible items beyond a couple of cookies. Every time I've stopped in the pastry case is as empty as a college student's fridge. Bring the vegan eats and I'll bring my wallet more frequently. read more
