OK...I would almost commit a crime for a pancake here!! Heavenly Hotcakes for sure!! They are spectacular! The only issue I have is you have to wait FOREVER to get in....but they are opening a 3rd location soon in Taylorsville so hopefully that will help! A great GREAT place for breakfast! Place is always busy, which to me is a good sign, and you can definitely expect a wait on the weekends if you aren't there when the doors open, but the food is worth it. They have a very large breakfast menu. I had the Arizona omelette and pancakes. Pancakes are fluffy and flavorful and the omelette was spicy and cheesy. I will definitely be back. The staff were very friendly with my children and I as well. They were given crayons and coloring pages. Everyone commented and made a big fuss, and taped their work on the kitchen door. If you love breakfast, want to eat better and keep your man card, this is good. What it's not: a greasy 70-80's diner that puts lard in everything. What it also isn't: too fu fu trendy place where the stepford wives go. You know the places. You get an egg white dusted with cheese that was flown in from France. I had a paper thin omelette. The mushrooms came from a can, the salsa was some bottled tasteless crap and even the onions didn't seem fresh. Our waitress was great but four of us ate there and no one was satisfied by they're meal. We will not be back. The Original Pancake House or the Waffle House are both better! read more

Really great food for the price. The portion sizes are huge and the fair always tasty. Not a bad thing on the menu. Both locations are awesome. There is always a wait so be prepared but it seems to move decently quickly so it isnt too bad. Lots of kids always present so be prepared for a loud environment often littered with screams and crying but if you know that going in, it still may be worth it. This is PAC's second location. We have visited both existing locations now and have loved them both equally. When visiting, you will inevitably have a wait, but the wait is beyond worth it every single time. Their pancakes are truly heavenly and amazing. We sat at the counter and it was a great old fashioned diner feel. As always, hard to beat a breakfast at this restaurant, anywhere in the south end of the Salt Lake Valley! The only complaint I have is that it is VERY, VERY NOISY, and hard to completely understand when talking to others you're with, because the tables are very close to each other. There's nothing on the walls or floor to absorb that amount of sound, from people talking when Penny Ann's-tables are packed so close to each other. PLEASE GET SOME MORE SPACE GUYS! I've heard a lot about Penny Ann's, and met friends there. They loved it, I was so-so. Menu is heavy with almost truck stop type food, which I used to love and gorge myself with. After a heart attack I changed everything about my life eating habits, and there weren't many healthy options available. But they did make an egg white omelette with fruit on the side. Went here Monday morning around 8:30, we were seated immediately. I ordered the Greek omelette (spinach, chicken, tomatoes, & feta cheese) with potatoes and pancakes. I really enjoyed their pancakes, definitely some of the best I've had. However I did not enjoy the omelette. It really had no flavor and the chicken was incredibly boring and dry. My friend also got an omelette and agreed that it was rather boring. The potatoes were fine but nothing special. Next time I come I will definitely just stick with the pancakes. It wasn't too busy and yet the service was lacking. It was hard to get our waiter's attention when another server dropped off our food & forgot the syrup. There were many waiters just kind of hanging out in the back and ours just never checked up on us. I understand that happening on a busy weekend but the restaurant wasn't full & it was a Monday morning. I would come back just for the pancakes but overall it wasn't the best experience. read more

Very very very good!! Best breakfast place in the area!! Better than the egg and I!! The potato disks were soooo good!! They give you tons of food!! Great family place as they gave my little one a bunch of coloring pages that kept him busy as we sat and drank coffee( which they kept refilling before it ever reached the bottom!!) Found this place off Yelp, and the reviews speak the truth. This place is awesome! Service is great, food is great, and the atmosphere has the family owned restaurant feeling a lot of places are missing. Our waitress was actually the sister of the owner of the place and she was super friendly and you could tell she was so happy to be there. Even though the line was out the door, we were sat down as soon as a table opened and the food came out quick! The hot cakes were delicious and its plenty of food, you'll probably have left overs. We came for breakfast and were not disappointed! I ordered the stuffed French toast with raspberry and white chocolate and my companion ordered the USC omelette with the "Heavenly Hotcakes". The french toast was incredible, as were the fluffy Hotcakes. The omelette was also good. Heather our server was also great. Maybe I'm in the minority but this was my first visit and more than likely my last. If you can't make eggs benedict correct after already screwing up then learn to do dishes. server asked how it's was and without me saying a word say my eggs and said "gross they look like rocks". She sent them back and here come more incredibly hard boiled eggs. Also maybe the servers shouldn't grab glasses from the inside then filling them with ice...kind of disgusting. read more

Been here 3 times now. This place is a gem for breakfast. They make everything from scratch. And with source am in there pancakes and biscuits. Which I do not sour cream but can't taste it at all. It's so yummy they don't even need syrup. Ditch the eggs and I and go here. Way better. Will update as I get more. Today going for breakfast burrito.
