My wife was so excited to take me to this place saying I would love it. There must be a lot of people that do because the wait was about 20 minutes. We walked in and I noticed the store was super clean and organized, which I like. They didn't have a really large menu but it was breakfast so there was enough. Ordered ham and eggs, the wait for the food wasn't long. If you like your food to not touch each other this is the place. The eggs were cooked just right but didn't have a great flavor. Im sure they were cooked with a healthy oil. I really didn't think they had much flavor, The ham was the same, cooked just right but not a lot of flavor. Right when I walked through the door I knew I was going to like Penny Ann's Cafe. All of the present customers seemed happy & the atmosphere was super inviting! We only waited about 6 or 7 mins on a Saturday morning, so that was good! I ordered the two egg breakfast. The scrambled eggs were your typical diner style standard. Nothing spectacular, but still tasty! The breakfast potatoes, however were above par! Crispy, but not dry. It also came with a side of their signature hot cakes! Now, I have had a lot of pancakes in my days. These were definitely above average, but something was definitely missing in the flavor department. Texture was perfect!! Also, I love maple syrup, but I definitely give props when restaurants have a more "unique" syrup to their brand. This one, did not. I would highly recommend ordering their hot cocoa for your beverage. The homemade whip cream on top really complimented the chocolatey goodness beneath! The service was just fine! The staff here have watched my kids grow up and they know us all by name . Even though they keep adding new locations , each place Still has that family owned feel . Awesome environment, perfect place for a morning breakfast with family and friends but you will probably have to wait maybe even 30 minutes. The food is good and pretty inexpensive. The only thing I haven't really liked is the French toast. It has almost no flavor, I thought adding cinnamon would help but I added quite a bit but it still left the French toast below average. Despite the wait and the French toast I will definitely be going back but the other aspects of the restaurant such as the environment and the coffee more than make up for it! read more

Had brunch here on a Thursday. They were very busy but we were greeted immediately and sat. Service was excellent. Server was very friendly and attentive. Food was incredible, had the chili verde scramble and their famous pancakes. Large portions and even bigger flavor. It's no surprise this place is winning awards. I have been here many times. This morning i went to seat at bar and was told by rude server i have to on wait list to sit at bar, i kindly asked if that is new as i was told by another server it was opened seating at bar. He rudely state to me since he has worked there for 3 years it has never been. He asked me if i want to go on wait list i looked around 4 open bar seats, few family with small children. Pretty sure the family is waiting for table. I declined left and i will never come back here. I typically support local business instead of chains. There is Black Bear, IHop, Village Inn all within 3 mile radius. I decided to go to Black Bear Diner no wait and was treated with better service. I used to recommend Penny but after that experience i will never nor will i step back in and dine there. read more

this is a really cute local restaurant. i noticed that their patio is open now which is nice if you want to bring your dog. on my most recent visit it was thursday at 8:15 AM and they were packed. like there was only four tables free. i was really surprised as it was in the middle of the week, but i guess that's what happens when you have good food. i ordered the pot of gold without the gravy, but the nice server informed me that i could get the penny pot potatoes which was the same thing and cheaper. so i got the penny pot potatoes which is: home fried potatoes mixed with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, topped with cheddar cheese, and served with two eggs. it comes with either toast or their hot cakes. i got the hot cakes so my group could enjoy them. the food itself is really good! it's quite a large portion too for a great price. we ended up taking home quite a bit of leftovers. read more

I work in Draper and have gone to all the local restaurants hundreds of times. Somehow I missed the fact that PAC opened just down the street from me. This is my new favorite breakfast place. The pancakes were probably the best I have ever had. The service was pretty fast considering they are making everything to order. Highly recommended. read more

I've gone to Penny Ann's a lot since I live nearby. The wait is usually long but they are pretty fast to seat you. The service has always been great, friendly servers, refilling water, etc. I've liked every dish I've tried - french toast, stuffed french toast, pot of gold, omelettes, etc. My favorite item is their french toast with a side of the house potatoes. I've also gone with large groups that have a lot of toddlers and they've done a great job accommodating us and helping the kids during the wait by bringing out crayons and coloring sheets. read more

But Penny Ann's Cafe is out of this world, and I don't think he'd ever have to twist my arm again if this place were where we live. Penny Ann's Cafe (PAC) tickled me with their PAC-12 menu (go Trojans!): Utah obviously gets the custom omelet with 5 choices while Washington St is choice of just 1 cheese. I ended up ordering the PAC Benedict, which was great. It's really rich from the extra butter from the croissant instead of the normal english muffin (fattier = tastier = yummier) and the eggs were poached perfectly. But the the heavenly hot cakes really take the cake, they tasted like heaven (yah yah yah, couldn't help myself). They're the best pancakes I've ever had! In addition to the pancakes, the bf's Smothered Burrito was even better than my benedict. It's a breakfast sandwich smothered in pork chili verde sauce, and it's bomb. A New York diner in Utah! I love this little place. And little is accurate. You definitely want to do call-ahead seating through the Yelp app or just be prepared to hang around while you wait for a table. The food was delicious, very reasonably priced. If you're from England or you equate a scone with a small snack with tea, you might want to ask to see someone else's order before you order one for yourself.
