Don't go here if you need help with your automobile. Let down because a friend of mine was stranded on the road. Helped her out and we got to PepBoys 35 min before they closed to fix her tire. They said come back tomorrow because they are trying to get out early for NYE. We went to Discount Tire, 3 min after they closed. Fixed the tire in literally 5 min and helped someone in need. Horrible Service! Bought a small $30 item that I never used and wanted to return because found a better deal somewhere else. Again, I never used this item and it's only been a couple of weeks since purchased. They must have a No Return policy at all because the manager continued to look the item up and down until he found some excuse to say it was used. "Believe me, it wasnt!" When he did, he was happy to say he couldn't take it back , "In a sinisiter, chuckly manner and in front of his workers." I rarely felt so humililated over a $30 item that I never used. PLEASE!!! Awful. I had an appointment at 5pm for a standard oil change and sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half before I got up to ask for the status of my car. The guy told me that they forgot about my car and it had just been sitting there the entire time. I asked for my keys and told them I would take my service elsewhere. I've been going here for a while and always thought the service was very average, but this was a complete waste of time and I will never go back. read more

This place is the biggest ripoff in the city. After having done my research, scheduling an appointment for mount and balance of four tires, I was there for 31/2 hours while the mechanics screwed off. Worst. Place. Ever. I had an oil change last week and they told me that included filling up my fluids. When I drove my car today, I got a whiff of burning. I pulled over and looked under my hood only to see that my engine coolant tank was not only empty, but you could see dirt at the bottom of it. It was bone dry. When I called and asked, they said they only "top off" the fluids, not refill them all the way. Well I asked him that since they obviously didn't "top off" my fluids, why couldn't they have given me the courtesy of letting me know my fluids were low. His response was a bunch of "ummmm, well, ummm.....". Give me a break. I've been treated waaaaay better not only at their main competition but at little locally owned shops. I'm never going here again and by the looks of it, neither are a bunch of people who've left negative reviews. read more

Awful truly I would give negative stars if possible. I went in to get a new light for my Honda. When I left one of the men in the store stopped me to ask if I would like help installing it, I had done it before but figured he would be faster. So I said sure and thank you. We went out to my car where he looked at it and looked confused because my bulb is screwed in with three screws. He cursed a little went back in came out with a screw driver. He started to take the screws out and lost ALL 3 screws inside the vehicle. I waited for 20 minutes for him to try to find one before I finally got down on the ground and found one I said just to screw that one in. He said they didn't have any replacements so I would need to go to Honda. Then, after he finally got one of them back in and the bulb switched out he went to leave when I said let's just check to make sure it works. Guess what? :) it didn't! He said that it was more likely a problem with my connection than the light, which doesn't make any sense since my brights worked no problem before I got there. Now I have to go to a Honda dealership to get the right screws and have someone properly install my light when I didn't even ask for help in the first place. Very poor communication. I called before I went over to ask if they do walk ins for oil changes. They said yes and that they'd see me soon - nothing else. I expected to wait a few hours, but when I got there to drop my car off they told me they would have it for the day because they were backed up (a total wait time of about 6 hours). Between me calling and me getting there it was 30 minutes, so I can't imagine they received that many cars during that time. I have no idea why they did not tell me about the wait when I called, but it would have been helpful so I didn't waste my time. I asked, "next time I call to ask about walk in oil changes, should I ask how long it will take so my expectations are in line with yours?" and all they said was that I should set up an appointment in the future. Well, no____. Of course appointments are ideal. That response did answer my question though - I won't need to call and ask because there will never be a next time. I hopped over to Just Brakes instead and they did it in less than hour. Again, I was expecting to wait 2-3 hours since I was doing a walk in wherever would take my car. Very happy I didn't succumb to that crazy wait time at Pep Boys, which would have left me stranded for the day. read more

I wish I would have read these reviews before I took my car in because of a nail in my tire. I pulled up to the garage and the first thing I was told is that their system was down and I had to pay cash on the spot. I know....sketchy. They told me I couldn't wait inside probably because I would have seen that the system was just fine. He "fixed" my tire and then said that he found a hole in another one of my tires. I said that he might as well fix it since I was there. I ended up paying $20.00 cash for him to fix the two tires. Surprise! both tires were flat when I woke up the next morning. If I didn't live two and a half hours away I would be in the store raising hell. I don't understand how after I just read a review where the EXACT thing happened to another person the manager or owner didn't put a stop to this kind of business. read more

Loved the service I received here. I wasn't thrilled with getting a flat tire and then having to replace all four tires, but their customer service was the best I've had anywhere. And, I got a super great deal on all 4 tires, alignment and the replacement of a rear light bulb. The appointment took as long as they said it would. I really appreciate them for making this unexpected hassle so much easier. This is the first review I've ever written, but I feel strongly that they deserve a mention. I was super pleased. Very disappointed. Called in for a quote and was told $40 total, so I made an appointment. Show up and I was told that the total cost would be $140. They would not honor the quote I was given, and the staff was unhelpful, rude and didn't seem to care or understand that it was a big issue. Such a waste of time, gas and effort. read more

Worst customer service! I've been going here for years, but it has definitely tanked recently. I called to get an estimate on toe shims for my car and the man I spoke with made it seem like he had never heard of what I was asking for. "Shims?... You mean shimmies?..." All in a very condescending way. I told him that is what another auto shop assessed. However, he refused an estimate and insisted I bring the car in so they could assess it. Not happening. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!!! I brought my car in for an alignment and tires. The alignment was done horribly and barely lasted a week. I brought it back in to have the alignment warrantied out and it came back even worse. Finally I gave up on Pep Boys and their ability to do something as simple as an alignment and brought it to my school to have them do it for free. A student got it done there in less than half the time and actually got it done right the first time. It's completely pathetic that I was able to have a student get it right when a trained tech couldn't get it. Then I have overheard the cashiers telling customers that it was going to at least 2+ hours to get their cars in for an oil change. I understand that Pep Boys is by no means a quick lube but that is absurd. This is by far one of the worst businesses ever run. It's seriously a shocker that this place is in business. They are terribly under staffed and the worst overall store moral I have ever experienced. Everybody who works there associates and managers a like looked like they are all pissed off at the world. Not to mention while waiting for my car I saw several of the cashiers walk out to the shop to chit chat and have a smoke break for 15 to 20 minutes at a time while there were customers waiting to be helped up at the front. In addition to that the female service manager seems to have complete disregard for her job and just seems to have an overall poor attitude. Almost nobody there seems to know how to do their job or just doesn't give a rats ass about their customers. There is no sense of order or urgency. DO NOT bring your vehicle here, you will spend too much time waiting for a job that is half assed and leave with the same bad attitude that the employees share. I'm sorry that I even paid for that alignment and from now on I will be telling everybody I know about the piss poor company that Pep Boys has become. read more

Not sure if this store is understaffed or? The few people there seemed to try but overall experience was very poor. Oil change appointment, I was there on time, estimated time was under an hour - 2.5 hours later my car pulls around and I have to track someone down to pay and get the keys. I had the worst experience with Pep Boys. I had a nail in my tire and wanted to be sure it was fixed the same day. I looked on their website because the location was near my office. I scheduled an appointment online since they were not open yet. I chose the option to receive a reminder via text and email so that I was sure that the appointment was set. Twenty minutes before my scheduled time, I called to confirm and was told the appointment was on the books. I left work and went to get my tire fixed. When I arrived I was helped by a service agent who told me that its always best to call for an appointment because the online appointments really aren't honored. I told him that would have been good information to have but that I called and confirmed my appointment. Thirty minutes went by and my car still was not pulled into the dock. I went up to the same person who asked if he could help me and I said I am just on my lunch hour and am checking the status of my car. He said well I just got here how long have you been waiting. I informed him that he was the person who checked me in and that I had a noon appointment and was still waiting for my car to be pulled in. He again told me that appointments really don't matter. Another ten minutes go by and I finally asked for my keys back as I had to get back to work. At this point no one could find my key and it turns out it was on the counter with a note saying that my tire could not be repaired. The person that provided this information said well we can't fix it, you need four new tires. At this point I had contact with three very unhelpful service techs. I left and went to a small shop who immediately repaired the tire that Pep Boys said could not be repaired. Total time in and out was ten minutes. I would NEVER recommend Pep Boys. read more

Went there because the car wasn't starting easily. After a test, everything worked out fine, but the associate "guessed" that it might be the starter. There was no test on the starter, so this was a shot in the dark. I can appreciate this, because I do understand that a lot of automechanics is trying a few things before you find the actual problem. Either way, he quoted us at $380 including labor and taxes, but not before trying to sell us the newer model of the part. To get a second opinion, I took it to Auto Zone where they provide a free starter exam and no problems were found. They suggested that it was just corrosion on the battery, which was fixed with a $5 clean up kit. No problems and another opinion at Firestone confirmed this. I can bet they wouldn't have minded charging us nearly $400 for something that wasn't broken at all, when it just required further inspection. Will never go here again. read more

It seems like everytime I look out the back window to the garage, the only two mechanics are sitting out on the sidewalk smoking cigs. If I could rate -5 star I would. Stopped by to fix my squeaking brakes that were originally installed by this location. A service I paid well over $600 dollars for. As they examined my brakes (which were still under year warranty and mileage ) they responded to me letting me know I ride my brakes too hard from driving up and down the mountains in Colorado. I didn't know they were experts in my driving habits or how it was relative to a product under warranty. I've never had apple question me about how often I use my phone or download music. Very very unprofessional. But don't worry it gets worse. They offer to fix the problem which is still under Warranty by having me spend another $300 for new rotors and brake pads. I ask to speak to a manager in which they go in the back and a head technician comes out. Not what I asked for. Asked for a district mananger contact in which they let me know that he is out of town on leave. Again not what I asked for. Called Pepboys customer service and am waiting to hear back. Called another Pepboys in Highlands Ranch in which they told me they don't take into consideration customers driving habits into consideration when making a warranty consideration or evaluation. I would stay as far from this location as you can !!!!! Nothing but problems , run around , and trying to get as much up selling as possible from this location. Stay Away!!!!! I only go to Maple Garage on Broadway for a reason now. This place is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

Worst customer I have honestly ever received. My boyfriend called beforehand at noon and asked if they could put his new bolt on exhaust before he had to work at 5 pm. To which they said yes. We dropped the car off at around 1 with no problems. We waited at my boyfriends house till about 3:30 before calling to make sure they'd be done before 5. They told us yes and that they actually had just started on it. Cool. We get there at 4:15, no one greets us. Only 2 people on the floor who see 4 or 5 customers and don't bother greeting or performing any customer service for any of them. Finally after 15 minutes of waiting, we get someone's attention to see if the cars done. She comes back out and says they aren't going to do it because they "don't feel comfortable" with it and tell us to go to an exhaust shop. They wasted about 3-4 hours of our time and couldn't even call us tell to us they weren't going to do it. They then bring the car around, with a hood half open which was odd because they shouldn't have even needed to open the hood for an exhaust job. read more

i don't give one stars that often, but i'm used to service in other car supply stores and this one definitely lacks it. the pep boys on 44th and wads is great, this one sucks. i don't understand with their lack of service, how exactly they are still open. every time i have been in here i have had to track someone down. this time i had to ask them to install the blades on my car. it's something you guys do for free, freakin ask. it was like he was trying to get out of doing it. then when i asked about it he was like uh, yeah. uh, we can do that for you. then he just told me to pull around to the side and one of the guys would come out and do it. well, jackass, they're not going to know to come out and do it if you don't tell them to. i had to go into the garage and flag someone down. that guy was actually nice and helpful. maybe the guys in the garage should run the front of house too. i'll go out of my way to never go here again. read more

I was getting my oil changed at another place, and my brakes were making my steering column shake a little, so I wanted that checked too. The first place I went told me I needed to replace my calipers, brake pads, brake fluid, and have the rotors sanded too. I've only had the car four months, so not knowing the former maintenance, I agreed. I didn't have enough time to do it right then or a quick way to get home for the time it would take, so I put it off a little and ended up going to pep boys since I could walk home from there. The clerk was friendly, and they matched the price from the first place I went (there's was going to be considerably higher). Not too long after I left, I received a phone call saying they'd taken a look at the brakes, calipers, and rotors, and nothing needed to be fixed! They also recommended I try to find out if the brake fluid had been recently changed, and it turned out it had only been 4 months. They didn't charge me a dime and were really nice about the whole thing. I'll be taking my business there from now on! read more

Made an appointment on their online system through their website. When I get there, there's no record of having made this appointment because they don't use it?! So then they tell me an oil change will take 2 hours, I question that even though I made an appointment it will really be 2 hours. He recorrects me and tells me they can get it done in an hour. I leave my keys and come back an hour later, like what they told me. When walking past my car before re-entering the store, I notice my tires haven't been rotated. Then after waiting on line I find out that they never even looked at my car. What a waste of time and what horrible service! I never have a good experience at this Pep Boys and will never go back even though I bought my tires here years ago and as a courtesy get them rotated at no charge. Not only is the way they operate this store is a failure, but there's a reason why people have rated this store so poorly. I was hoping to change my opinion on this place, but this past visit only solidified that the other yelp reviews are accurate and I know there are way better options like Grease Monkey or Midas. Avoid. Absolutely terrible. My car overheated and brokedown near Alameda and Broadway and unfortunately Pep Boys was the closest auto shop. The estimate was $800 as I was told I needed a new radiator, all new hoses to the radiator, and a new thermostat because mine had "stopped working." I was ready to pay the $800 until I spoke with my father who told me to get my car out of there as fast as I could and take it to a shop down in Littleton (Pro Auto Care). THANK GOD I DID. After an inspection I was told that my car DID NOT need a new radiator, just a couple new hoses that had worn down. I was also told that my thermostat was working fine. I paid $160 and my car is as good as new. I also want to say that I was told by a mechanic at Pep Boys that I could not replace the hoses on my radiator without replacing the entire unit. Later, I was told by the mechanic at Pro Auto Care that this was completely untrue. I am a young female. I don't know a lot about cars and I was stuck on the side of the road and couldn't leave without a tow. I feel like Pep Boys took advantage of this. read more

I brought my daughter's car in to your store at to buy her a set of tires. The car was sporting a donut spare when it came in. We selected the tires from what was shown on the screen and were told that the car would be ready in an hour and 15 minutes. We returned at that time and were told it would be another hour. We then went shopping and received a call about an hour later saying that they had none of that size tire in stock and to come and pick up the car. We returned to the store after three and a half hours to find that here car had been gone through. The center console was still open and her personal belongings were strewn all over the car. The glove box was completely rearranged. There was no reason for this as there was no security lug nor did any tire ever get removed from the car. I confronted the gentleman at the service counter and was told it wasn't his problem because he didn't work on that car. I found this attitude to be completely unprofessional. read more

I am extremely frustrated that a simple oil change has caused so much damage on my car and I am completely out of transportation as well as a large sum of money. I had my oil changed last week and prior to receiving the oil change my car was in perfect working condition. A few days after having the oil changed, my car began to act up by driving slower and making a few funny sounds. Once the car began to act up I immediately drove the car back into the store and the mechanics explained that the oil filter lid was off leading to all the oil draining from the car. This seemed like an easy fix and the mechanics filled up the oil and cranked the lid as tight as they possibly could. The next morning I drove to work and on the way home the car stalled on the street and was not able to drive. The car was then towed into the same store location where the mechanic had to keep the car and have the head mechanic inspect the vehicle. The outcome of the inspection was that my car is not in working condition and needs a new engine. I would understand if I had drove my car longer distances and at higher speeds after having the oil change, however, I hardly drove within those few day and I acted immediately once the car acted up. That being said I believe having my oil changed at this facility lead to irreversible problems within my engine. read more

after reading some reviews its all negative about pep boys!!!!! buyer beware at this place. from the clerks at the counter to the management and so called service people . they don`t know what they are doing . i took my vehicle in for some minor work. after repair my car ran even worse. i took it back for reason of problem all they wanted was more money to fix problems my car did not need . now i`m with out a running car. costly repairs cause they are boys!!! pep boys...they may be ok to check tire pressure but nothing else if you need a repair shop take it to a real repair not this so called shop . a real joke they are!!!!! tom martino where are you!! read more
