First visit to Perry's and glad I tried it out. I tried the Hey Joe and it was delicious. Meats were cooked perfect and the sausage had a great spice to it. I'm going back to try some other options. What a gem! We got the Hip Max, a hot dog and a chocolate milkshake and all were delicious! The ingredients on the Hip Max all tasted super fresh, and although the sandwich was super filling-- it didn't leave me feeling sluggish or heavy. The patio also had the best jazz music streaming to compliment the sunny day. It was a lovely experience altogether-- great food and great music. I love coming here to support local. Their hot sandwiches are great. The nachos are decent if you craving it. But the best sandwich at Perry's I think is the Hip Bird on squaw bread. The turkey is flavorful, you get the crunch from the lettuce, and the avocado takes it to another level. But the star really is the squaw bread. One thing that stands out about Perry's Joint is QUALITY. I haven't been disappointed in any item I've tried off the menu. My person favorite is the pastrami dog. Their Perry Punch is also delicious and not overly sweet. This place is a small little mom and pop shop but you can tell they pour their love into all the food they make. Their sandwiches are delicious as well. You cannot go wrong with anything you order, I promise you. The Hip Bird and Max Roast are my personal favorites. Service is amazing. Everyone working there is friendly and nice. Phone orders can be a hassle because if they are on the phone with another customer you will go straight to voicemail but other than that this place is amazing. Drinks were on the smaller side, but they were cool and refreshing. Ive actually been trying to get to this place the longest but this was my first time here. I ordered the turkey sandwich . It was great. Portion size was huge . I loved the interior and vibe of Perry's. Food is decently priced as well. The only reason why I didn't give a 5 star is because the person who took my order was a friendly person to me. Maybe it was just me but she was much more lighter with others. Also, she never asked me if I wanted a half or full size. Being it was my first time, i wish she would've told me. Instead she just gave me the full size. When I asked her, she said that we customers don't say then they give a Full size. ..... weird. No other restaurants do that, but I guess. It's tucked next to ChapCare Medical Center on Lincoln Ave. This is not only modern and new but charming and clean. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated in warm colors and offer handful seating options like high tables, wood wall benches with pillows and outdoor patio for lounging. The place specializes mostly on sandwiches, but offers hotdogs and salads as well. Plus freshly made lemonades and fruit teas. Awesome sandwiches...and large servings too. I ordered the specialty of the house, "the big band" and it was wonderful. I bit into this sandwich, and consider my tastebuds in heaven. Monstrosity of deliciousness packed with turkey, roast beef, pastrami, lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese, diced peppers, pickles and mayo-mustard stacked high on rye bread. The deli meat was delicious and all toppings tasted fresh. Bread, fillings, and condiments all work in perfect harmony. Good value for $8.50, easily shareable. Yummy sandwich! I don't normally go for sandwiches with multiple meats but the server recommended it so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. It was a good-sized sandwich, served hot with pastrami & turkey, plus leaf lettuce, tomatoes, onions & pickles. It normally comes with pepperoncini but i asked not to get them. The cheese was melty and sandwich and it was plenty juicy with mayo, mustard & the fixings. I enjoyed every bite. The pastrami was tasty and not greasy at all. I had a few bites that were a bit salty for me, but I don't eat much salt so it's probably fine for others. Next time I'd ask for no mustard or no pickles to make it more to my taste. Went to the original location 2 months ago and since we always tailgate before Halloween in Sierra Madre on 31st, decided to pick up sandwiches from here. The sandwiches were as I expected..delicious with perfect portions of meat to veggies. Many reviews talk about the food. My review will focus on what I think makes a business successful. The customer service. Met Perry at the original location..super nice and friendly. Wants to make sure you love your food. Suprisingly this was the same sentiment I found from his 2 young workers that day in this location. Their work ethic was great as I stood off to the side to wait for my order. They were constantly busy doing something... Was 30 min before closing and they kept getting a slow steady stream of customers. In places with young staff, I often see eyes rolling..then constant glances at the clock..just anxiously waiting for time to close the doors. Not this place. Each customer was greeted welcomed with a smile. No gasping of.."here's another one". This level of service and positive attitude speaks alot of the owner. I applaud Perry for being able to share this work ethic and level of customer service to his staff. It truly shows they value and appreciate the patrons. I posted them on SGV Eats page and amazing how many people also love the food. If you hsave not tried Perry's Joint..this is a must. My only disappointment is their hours. They close at 4 pm and many people are just getting off work so to pick up for dinner isnt possible.
