Been passing this place for a while and finally decided to give it a try--and I'm so glad we did! This is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. It's a small hole-in-the-wall spot, but don't let that fool you. Their most popular item is the pasta bread bowl, and it definitely lives up to the hype. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the service was warm and attentive. The smell when you walk in instantly gives you that authentic Italian food vibe. The space is surprisingly big and very clean. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with Parmesan chicken, and it was rich and satisfying. He got the spaghetti with meatballs, which was just as good. The bread bowl is huge and super filling. They also offer gelato and cannolis, which is a nice touch to finish off the meal. If you haven't tried this place yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot!

We ordered a couple of bread bowls, spaghetti with meat sauce, plus mozzarella cheese. Plus a side of meatballs. The bread bowls were decent, the bread tasted fresh, the sauce was unremarkable. The meatballs were good, although again the sauce was maybe average. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. I didn't see any Parmesan or red chili flakes. Ambience is hybrid Italian/fast casual.

Food was good, you order at one spot and the ticket gets moved to the cashier on the opposite side. Food took a while to get to us. It's more like an order to go and option to eat there. Tipping is optional but seems steep for a place where is mainly self serve. The bread bowl was delicious and they toast it up with a garlic butter spread. My kids enjoyed the pasta which says a lot since they're picky eaters. I've never had cannoli so not sure what it's supposed to be like. The shell was very hard. Overall decent place to eat!

I was really craving some good pasta. I've always wanted to try this place, and was so excited to come. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two nice gentlemen, whom helped us take our order. I ordered the creamy pesto (pesto with alfredo) with spaghetti noodles and pan seared chicken in a bread bowl. My bf ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken parmesan (fyi, the chicken parm sits on top of marinara sauce!) We were both wowed at how delicious our meal was. The porportions were just right, pasta cooked al dente, sauce was wonderful and not overpowering and heavy! (You can mix sauces!) The bread bowl had that crisp crust, soft and fluffy on the inside. It was delicious and unique to see in sacramento. I felt myself craving the creamy pesto again the next day. This place is also very to go friendly! We were able to grab our own utensils, water, and to go box, if needed. The people who work at the bank nearby are so lucky to have this place right next to them! My only regret is not coming here sooner! I showed these pictures to my family and friends and they were all jealous! Next time, I will come back with my family. This place makes good food.

Went here with my girl since we were both craving carbs. Found this place for first time and I am SO GLAD to have discovered this little gem next to a bank lol (i am jealous of workers there since they can just walk here for lunch). We ordered their creamy pesto and fettuccine alfredo and they were sooooo good! The bread bowls complimented the meal indefinitely and lets not forget, THEIR PORTIONS ARE GENEROUS. They have a little self serve countertop where you can get your own utensils and water in the corner. Inside is nice and cozy with about 20-30 seats available. Would def recommend this place 11/10 will be coming back!

Amazing pasta in a tasty buttery bread bowl. This place is really good, the concept of pasta in a bread bowl just goes so well together! We got the alfredo with pan seared chicken and alfredo topped with chicken parmesean. Both were solid! Lots of space inside and outside. The chef was helpful with explaining how to order. Food came out quick.

I'm always on the hunt for exceptional, Italian food, and it's not as easily found as one would expect. We were headed up the hill from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe, and stopped in Rancho Cordova at Petali. I was hoping for amazing, realizing that I would be OK with good. What we ended up with was mediocre at best. You order at the counter, and then you go find a seat. Based on the fact that this isn't a fast food place, but a restaurant, ordering at the counter and then the Personal on the other side of the counter, expecting a tip and there's no table service is definitely a pet peeve of mine. Please keep in mind that the customer is also expected to pick their food up at the counter, and then bust their own table. You're also responsible for filling up your glass, whether it be with water or if you've ordered a soft drink. So again there's no service and I just don't understand what a tip would be for. Handing me my food that I've paid for? Anyway, the two gentlemen working there I'm speculating might be the owners, they're fairly friendly, but they're not necessarily serving up good food. We ordered the lasagna and this pasta bowl that was served in a sourdough bowl. It sends me to say that both of these were just bad. Even despite being recommended by the gentleman on the other side of the counter, it just wasn't good. The lasagna was a cross between I couldn't tell if it was house made or someone tried to make it versus perhaps ingredients may have been thrown together? It also could've been something ordered like many restaurants do, and then just heat it up and served. Regardless of how it was created, it's just something that should not be served. The sauce is horrible. It lacks the depth that really good marinara should have. The lasagna noodles for baked dish were still al dente and an edible. We both struggled to try to eat part of it and finally just gave up. Nonna would have cried. The pasta bowl... It sounded incredibly interesting. It's a sourdough bowl that's filled with pasta and whichever sauce you choose. We added extra meat. Yes, it sounds incredibly caloric, and I would imagine that if you're able to actually able to eat it, then it would be. The sourdough bowl should not be the main part of this entrée. But when you can't eat the rest of it, that's pretty much what you're left with. Bread. I'm not sure what's going on here, but the noodles were also more than just al dente. They didn't even taste like they were cooked. The sauce again was horrible and the noodles didn't even wanna touch the sauce. We could not eat the entrée either. We tried, especially because we wanted to have dinner before our hour and a half drive. Sadly, disappointing.

Petali keeps it simple and does it really well. The lasagna was honestly the standout, light, balanced, and not overly heavy like most places. The sauce had great flavor without overpowering everything, and the layers came together clean. The tiramisu was super impressive, light, airy, and not too thick or overly sweet. You still get that classic coffee flavor, but it doesn't hit you too hard. Just smooth, clean, and really well done. I've been coming to Petali for years, and it's hands down one of my favorite spots. The food is always made fast, always delicious, and incredibly consistent -- I've never had a bad order here. The aglio alfredo sauce has a chokehold on me. Creamy, rich, and full of flavor -- it's my go-to every time. The staff keeps the restaurant spotless, which I really appreciate. Whether I'm grabbing a quick bite or dining in, I know I'm going to get great food in a clean, comfortable space. If I could change one thing, it would be to offer pasta without the bread bowl option for the regular meals. As much as I love carbs, the bread bowl plus pasta is a lot, so I usually opt for the kids' meal to skip it. Petali, please never change (except maybe that one tiny thing).

I was in the mood for some good old comfort Italian food. Luckily there was one close to my hotel. Small menu but plenty to choose from with the different types of pasta and sauces. I opted to order the cheesy garlic bread for an appetizer, meatball sandwich combo, and cannoli for dessert. Food did not disappoint! Red marinara sauce and meatballs was delicious. Bread was nice and soft. Cheesy garlic bread was great just wish it had a little more melted cheese. The cannoli comes with two and was the perfect ending to a great meal. The meal as a whole reminded me of my Italian grandmas cooking...especially those cannolis!!!!

The service is phenomenal, the atmosphere is warm, and the experience always leaves you wanting to bring more people next time. If you haven't been to Pateli's yet, you're missing one of the best kept secrets in town.

Stopped into Petali by chance for the first time the other day. Their Sourdough Pasta bowls caught my eye and I had to give it a try. As I walked to the counter, Vic happily greeted me and asked if I need any help. I asked what Petali's more popular Pasta bowl was, to which he replied it was their their Pasta Chicken Alfredo bowl. And that their Chicken Parmesan was really good as well. Based on the recommendation, I ended up ordering the Chicken Alfredo Pasta bowl and some chips ans waited for my order. While waiting, I made some light conversation with Vic and inquired about the damaged chair and picture above the kitchen area. And was informed it was from a drunk driver who driver into the restaurant shortly after they opened l, forcing them to close for a bit to rebuild. Just a small reminder Petali has faced as a business, which hasn't stopped them, from providing great food and great service. Early into my order Vic wanted to confirm my order again and asked if I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. And I reconfirmed I got the Chicken Alfredo, which is what he thought but Chicken Parmesan was started instead. So while correting the order, Vic offered the Chicken Parmesan on the house. So I ended up getting to try that as well. Food: Chicken Alfredo Bread Bowl Chicken Parmesan Jalapeño Chips Overall: Great food and great service. Very friendly owners and really personable. Will definitely come back again. Also note, there's a 4% discount on your order if you pay in cash!

I was greeted in such a friendly manner by the owner, Victor and his partner. The restaurant is clean, modern, and geared for a busy lunch and dinner crowd with fast service, but, most importantly, delicious and authentic Italian food. The fare is a little bit from the 'norm' of Italian restaurants. There 'main event' I would say are their bread bowls filled with pasta, DELICIOUS sauce, and other fixings you can choose to add-on. I ordered one of the bread bowls...the bread could be such a second thought to this creative offering, but the bread is to die for SO good; tender and a little crusty all rolled up in one! What could be better than double-starch...LOL! My friend tried the appetizer combo...also did not disappoint; meatballs homemade and tender, zucchini blossoms unusual and scrumptious. [Ordered: Meat Lasagna, side bleu cheese salad] Fresh Italian food, quick? Yes, please! Entering the restaurant instantly serves an appealing taste to the eye; albeit you run into a confusing "start here" setup, in my opinion. (Owners note: Perhaps a more prominent Order Here sign might suffice?) Nonetheless, the customer service experience from entry, to delivery of food, to follow-up, is superb. Let's acknowledge that from the get-go. The lasagna and salad I ordered comes in an almost Tupperware-like container, which is great if your eyes were bigger than your stomach. The meat lasagna, although served generously, is unfortunately a little on the runny side, and lacks a robust red sauce that almost reminds me of tough times when I had to buy the off-brand bottle of spaghetti sauce at the market, sacrificing flavor. On top, of course, the lasagna is peppered with meat that is nothing more than, well, pieces of cooked meat - adding no complexity to the dish. The Meat Lasagna falls flat, in my opinion - leaving me full, but not satisfied. The salad, on other hand, was great! And the homemade croutons are a nice touch; which I was skeptical about until I bit into those tasty suckers. Ultimately, people don't revisit an Italian restaurant for it's passable salad and customer service, though. If this establishment wishes to fill its seats on this busy food strip, it's going to have to improve its staple Italian dishes, at the very least. read more

So i was really excited about this place. I saw it coming back from the sushi place next door my manager had told me he tried it and he wasnt a fan but i wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. The pasta was freshly made yes but if you make it plain when i asked for two different types of sauces and i get buttery noodles with salt and pepper with parmesan cheese on top i was a little upset i know thats how you make a basic set of noodles i took culinary for 2 years but this legit had no sauce .... for 9$ i expected more i wouldve been a huge fan if it had sauce... the boys were super sweet too thats why im giving 2 stars. read more

So this business has suffered both from a prior accident, that made them have to do extensive remodeling, and then COVID-19. If I could give it a six I would. The sauces are delicious, the pasta was cooked as perfectly as I have ever seen. My husband's sausage and pepper sandwich was equally good. He's very careful about sanitizing everything, including the pens. Also they were very friendly. I highly recommend ordering takeout from these guys, and will do so again. I really enjoyed the fettuccine alfredo in the garlic bread bowl. I tried the meatballs as well which were very tasty. I was actually surprised at the high quality of the pasta. I was kind of expecting maybe a little bit better than a Mall food court, but honestly it was like nice sit-down restaurant quality. Also all the staff were extremely friendly and very welcoming. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. read more

The food was delicious. We both ordered the pasta bowl. Mine was the Campanella with Alfredo sauce with pieces of chicken parmigiana. My husband ordered the meatball spaghetti bowl. The meatballs were huge! The pasta bowl is genius because your garlic bread is right there. No additional ordering. The bowl is toasted on the sides but the bread underneath is very soft and easy to eat. Would definitely come back to try the lasagna. read more

Stopped in for the RCLL fundraiser. This place is going to be added to my favs of Rancho. I got a pasta bread bowl and had enough left over for dinner. The portion was huge. I also got the appetizer of meatballs and let me say wow. Now when I'm craving meatballs I don't have to make them can just come over and grab an order. But my absolute favorite item was the Cannolis awww heaven in your mouth. This kids loves them too. Had to add desert before we left. The kids wanted to try the Tiramisu which my son didn't like but I loved and a chocolate mouse which my Emmi loves!! Thanks Petali for a great lunch!! read more

My husband and I really enjoyed the pasta bowls and cannoli that we got. I got campanelle with aglio e olio sauce while my husband got penne with classic red sauce. The pasta and the bread bowl were tasty! This was our first time having a cannoli and we loved it! Crunchy and filled with sweet cream. And the service was excellent! I asked for no pepper on mine and they were able to do that since they add all the seasonings and cook it fresh. None of it is pre-packaged. We both love Italian food, but haven't found a good & fast Italian food restaurant until discovering Petali. Now this is going to be our go-to place when we want affordable and yummy Italian food! read more

I have died and gone to pasta garlic bread bowl heaven! Definitely did not expect the quality of food from a little place like this in a strip mall area. The owners are fantastic and very welcoming and to top it off, all their food is made from scratch except for the desserts. I got spaghetti with a mixture of red sauce and their olive oil sauce and it was creamy deliciousness! The bread was actually really light and airy and amazing. What a great price as well, it looks like I didn't even put a dent in my bowl. Everyone must come try this fantastic place! read more

Astounding quality from the food to the service. We were greeted, welcomed, and were given recommendations on what to try. This is an establishment that takes pride in every ingredient and the service they provide. And at a very reasonable price. We placed a lunch to-go order for 10 today. The menu-online ordering was so easy as was the pick up! Even better was the food. We ordered several different items: pasta bread bowl, flatbread pizzas, combo meatball and sausage cup, salad, lasagna...... All of the cooked items were still hot when we brought back it to the office and amazingly delicious. All of the dishes were super tasty. Then, we had the cannolis, just Wow! Great pricing too. You must try Petal's for lunch....and be sure to get enough to bring home for dinner! read more

Had dinner here tonight and the food was great. Lasagna portions were huge, you can most definitely share. My husband had the pasta in the breadbowl and said it was amazing. This place is delicious! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a gentleman who was so nice and super helpful. I ended up getting the pasta bowl with pink sauce and it was so good. Wondering what we were going to eat for lunch. We decided to drive around this area in rancho cordova close to work. We drive around and find this place. We were greeted so great the menu was on point. I ask for a bread bowl with fettuccine Alfredo sauce and a drink. Wow delicious meal. I was pulled in by the bread bowls and I was not tooo disappointed! Overall the pasta is good, only negative i'd say is that some of the sauces could use a bit more flavor. Next time I'll definitely be getting an order of sauce on the side because the bowl does suck it up some. Great people and great business overall. I'll be coming back! read more

The food is really delicious. I am a vegetarian and I got the bread bowl with campanelle pasta, veggies, pesto, and alfredo sauce. The staff was extremely nice and attentive. This was my first visit and he answered all my questions patiently. And I ask a lot of questions lol! He guided me to make a great choice. On Saturday, May 16th while waiting for our to go order from the sushi restaurant nearby, we looked at the menu posted in the window. Food sounds good and prices seem reasonable. Approximately 10 minutes later one of Petali's employees came out with a free "sample" of garlic bread for us to try. It was a small loaf of garlic bread. OMG - it was delicious. This is the place to go for that meal that you'd never even think about wanting until you have it. The many different pastas offered in a bread bowl is the only way to do it!! Don't sleep on those meatballs either, those things are what dreams are made of!! The bread bowls are smothered with a delicious garlic flavor and then toasted quickly to give you a beautiful crust without taking away from the soft, fluffy inside!! 5 stars isn't enough!! We will return for the "Big Kid" Mac n Cheese very soon!! Couldn't have been a nicer couple of gentlemen running the show. I referred four people on the way home just from the smell in the car! What an awesome place to get pasta in a bread bowl that's toasted. I was doing a race in the morning and happen to be staying for the night at a local hotel. I sure lucked out when I found this on Yelp. All the food is made in house except for the desserts. What a great place to carbo load for a run. It's very reasonable too! There was considerable deflection, repetition, and what felt like half-truths rather than a sincere effort to work toward a mutual solution. The manager should remember that they represent the Root of Happiness brand. We have been patronizing Root of Happiness for at least 10 years, long before the owners expanded to the Roseville, Midtown, and Rocklin locations. Additionally, over the last few weeks, the Justin's Peanut Butter Cups have seemed unusually dry. The menu is good but it doesn't have combo options and I couldn't believe they didn't have pizza. Salads are pre-made but in my case I like to prepare my salad fresh.
