Pet services.... Mariana is simply the best- my pup loves her. I prefer Petsmart, they are more helpful & professional.

The front is easily accessible by wheelchair. The perfect place to get all of your pets necessities! Nestled in the shopping center surrounding the Fairfield Mall, and next to Party City. The store is well maintained and kept clean, even if your furry friend has an accident. The vet is located at the back of the store. They have a variety of reptiles, small furries, and cats to adopt to the back right of the shop. Whether it's a leash, dog food, cat treats, guinea pig hay, fish tanks, or crickets for your reptilians, they got you covered. It's always easy to find the staff if you need help, and they will never turn you away. Always great customer service here, and great deals!

Nice selection of cushions & kennels.

Just got a new puppy, so I'll be here frequently! This store is a couple doors down from Barnes & Noble, and is pretty decently sized. I came in looking for a kennel and cushion for the kennel, and found a pretty good selection to choose from. I wasn't shopping for anything else, but could tell that there's a huge selection of food, toys, and pretty much anything else you would need for your pet. Checkout was quick and friendly as well. I'll probably be back at some point this weekend. Raising an 8 week old puppy is no chore, lol!

My dog prior to grooming appointment with Vee
    Liz G.

I took my Maltipoo in for grooming. I typically have Liz work on both my dogs however she wasn't available. I booked with Vee (only groomer with an opening) and SPECIFICALLY asked that she keep my dog as fluffy as possible. She said she would be able to keep his face somewhat fluffy but his ears were a bit matted and would try her best. I was called three hours after the drop off and told my dog was ready and she tried her best but could only keep his head fluffy. When I picked my dog up I nearly cried! She shaved him bald with several areas on his body shaved bare and other parts with hair. He looked like a rat! I was extremely upset! Vee clearly isn't skilled with her technique. If she was she would have been able to leave a little hair as opposed to shaving him bald! DO NOT GO TO VEE! She obviously lacked in skill and ability as a groomer and wanted to make it easy for her and just shaved all his hair off! I also didn't like the fact that she was bad mouthing Liz (another groomer) stating she didn't fill out the paperwork correctly on another client in front of us. She then said "Oh, never mind, she wrote it on the top of the form!" Please refrain from bad mouthing your co-workers, it gives negative vibes.

Services included in the Bath & Brush

Terrible. I always ask for a certain length or cut and they always send my dog home bald. I brush him everyday, so they can never blame the cut on matts or tangles. Also, their Bath & Brush is terrible. I paid $40 for a between cut maintenance (see below). And all they do is give him a bath and brush him out. They did not trim his nails, complete a sanitary trim, shave his paw pads or clean his anal glands. 3 hours and $40 later and all I get is a bathed dog. I could've done that myself. When I mentioned it and showed it to the staff they rolled their eyes and told me he was done and handed me the bill.

    Enzo loves his Fairfield PetSmart!

This review is for Lisa, one of the few people I trust to train my puppy, Enzo (a French bulldog). First of, I don't live in Fairfield. I was in town one day and I went to Petsmart and Petco and Fairfield, I read Lisa's biography inside the PetSmart store, and that's how I choose Lisa as Enzo's dog trainer. He started off in the Beginner Class with Lisa. She called me weeks before the class started and explained to me the different dogs in the class and how the other dogs in the class may react to Enzo (due to the fact at the time Enzo was the youngest dog in the class). Lisa made all the efforts to answer my questions and ensuring I was ready for day 1 of the class. She provided me information on how vaccinations should be complete prior to class and recommended what treats I should purchase for Enzo in order for him to pay attention in class. She even recommended the best vests/ collars for all the dogs in the class to help keep them safe from pulling/ running away/ into the other dogs in the class. Enzo completed the beginner class in 6 weeks. If you were unable to make a class, Lisa worked around her schedule to make sure that you can have a make up class, which I thought was very thoughtful: she made sure you got your money's worth. Lisa is a straightforward type of trainer, she will tell you if you are doing something incorrect, but she does this in order to break habits and help your dogs learn. Which I appreciate the most because now I am told I have a well trained Frenchie, he knows his commands really well. Enzo went on to the intermediate class with Lisa, and handful of the puppies from the beginner class, where also in the intermediate class as well. Again, Lisa called us a week before the class started, gave us information on what to expect, what dogs would be in the class, and answered all the questions we had. Enzo then went on to the Brain Games class with Lisa (the best class I have to say). She really took the time to make sure pet parents knew their marker words, and this class was really fun with Lisa. She took the time to make sure that all the dogs knew their games. Lisa is such a good dog trainer. I do not mind driving 20 minutes from home just to go to her classes. My Enzo really loves Lisa and really listens to her. I appreciate her knowledge and the fact that she is very passionate about what she does, which is why the dogs do so great in the class because she loves what she does!

When we visited, Amy immediately stood out for her calm, knowledgeable, and thoughtful approach to training. Everything about her philosophy just made sense, especially how she tailors it to a dog's age and stage. Before we even brought our pup home, Amy came out to assess the litter and helped us choose the dog that best fit our family. One of our goals was for our 11-year-old to take the lead in training, and Amy completely supported that, which meant the world to us. When an unexpected death in our family forced us to move up our training schedule, Amy and Tim were incredibly kind and accommodating. Our dog ended up working with Bridget, and honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better trainer. She was patient, calm, and so good at balancing all three of us -- especially with a child who didn't always understand the process. Bridget checked in often, shared weekly updates and photos, and really made us feel supported the whole way through. When we first brought our dog home, we were dealing with daily potty accidents and nonstop energy. What we got back after the four-week camp was a completely different experience -- a calm, consistent, responsive dog who's an absolute joy to be around. He knows his commands, yes, but what stood out most was how much we learned, too. Half of dog training is the dog, and the other half is the human -- and they truly get that. We're beyond grateful for everything the My Clever Canine team has done for our family, and we're excited to continue with their group classes and keep building on this foundation. They're the real deal.

We also still have access to his personal trainer (Bridget) who has come to our house twice to help train me and my wife. Tim (owner) is absolutely the best. She loved to chew on everything... baseboards, cabinets, fabric, paper, outdoor drip hose and low voltage electrical wiring! She also loved digging in the yard. She was afraid of most everyone and everything, including people and other animals. We could not get her to venture out of the house, other than to go into our back yard and would not go on a walk. Zuki has been a godsend! She spent lots of time with us, training us to train our dog. She demonstrated behavioral techniques, and gave us numerous opportunities to practice these while she was present. We had weekly homework assignments and she also provided us with additional suggestions on ways to alter Lexi's behavior, as well as suggestions for chew toys and rewarding treats. Now, at 3 years old, we can say, for the most part, we have a well behaved pet who follows commands, no longer chews, rarely digs, and loves to take walks! So many of Juniper's recommendations have been woven into my life with Garnet and changed how I work with him and handle him in many ways. I went into it feeling self-conscious about my lack of knowledge, ashamed at the behaviors that my dog had developed, and not sure that consulting a trainer would make a difference for us. As it turns out, I didn't need to worry about any of that. In addition to being very knowledgeable, Juniper is kind, understanding, patient, encouraging, and always positive. She has given us tons of new resources and is always willing to answer questions. More than anything, our sessions were about training me to be able to read my dog's behavior, and being able to react appropriately and employ the right techniques. Juniper set realistic expectations for our sessions, and I came away from the experience with a whole new set of tools and the ability and confidence to continue working with my dog on my own.
