Went here to return an item. We bought it from other branch. My husband went to the cashier with the item. And this lady look up the item & she can't find it in their inventory. So she said we can't return it from there & need to go to where we bought it . So my husband asked her was it not the same as Target or Walmart that we can return the item even though it was not bought from their branch & it's the same company anyway. This lady answered in a very sarcastic tone saying " well this is not Walmart or Target. Wow! What a good response to your customer. So we went out & call the customer service. Customer service was searching about the item. So we told her the brand & what kind of product. And she can't see it but knows they cater that kind of brand. She kept on asking if we really bought it from Petsmart & if we have a receipt. She asked us so many times like hello, why do we need to waste our time if it's not really from their company. We told her many times it's a new item/product on their website. She kept on insisting she can't find it from their website. And then finally saw it. Finally . So we told her if she can speak to the manager & with a sigh sounds coming from her she agreed to talk to the manager. Went inside again & my husband asked if we can talk to the manager. That lady who refused at first apparently were the manager. In a loud tone she said "I'm the manager" so we told her that we were talking to the customer service & after that looks like wind turns to different directions & she said " I can do it, it's just a simple return" Like wow. She said it's simple how come she makes it hard for us in the first place. The reason why we want to return the item to their locations is that it's closer & for us not to spend toll fee again just to return 1item from where we bought it. It says in their return policy, our company know that as pet parents you are busy & we want to make it easy for you to return an item. Looks like it's not true. I want to say... at this time of Pandemic. You are lucky to have your job so embrace your job. No room to be rude to people. All the groomers here are good at what they do but, I have to say, I have the BEST groomer there is!!!! Amanda is hands down the best there is. She does an amazing job on my Nelly, my long hair dachshund every-time! Not only do I completely trust Amanda in grooming my dog & her opinion on grooming, she gives very helpful advice on how to keep Nelly's hair soft & to help with her skin allergies. We took a dog training classes Fridays at 5:30 PM- 6:30 PM with Lisa. This woman Lisa is just a very mean person. Lisa insulted everyone's dog in the group (4) the first day, telling us our dogs could stand to lose 3-5 lbs, two of us in the group rescued our dogs recently from the shelter and we're bad owners. She literally pointed each dog out as she stood in the middle room saying to couple 1,"your dog fat and has no energy, Couple 2 (us) your dog is overweight and motivated by food, Couple 3 (father /son) you were told not to feed your dog the day of class, however, you did not follow instructions and your dog could lose 4, and couple 4 (mother/ daughter) your dog could stand to lose 4lbs." Keep in mind Lisa is not a veterinarian, she is a dog trainer. The following week Lisa again told the class, "you need to cut back food to your dogs". Again around the room asking each family how we feed our pets as she stood in front of the door. Telling the class that seeing a dog's ribs are a good thing according to her vet. So, it sounds like our dogs should have lost weight within a week prior to class. As we were learning command training for our pets, if you made an error Lisa drew attain to it, scolding you as a child. The poor couple next to us, Lisa commented about the gentleman's name and how he needs a name she can pronounce and what language is that and then laughing The wife quiet and happy had her fair share of humiliation. When Lisa told the young lady to use our dog for training because hers was not responsive, the young lady complied. As the lady began to follow instruction, she made mistakes as we all did, however, Lisa scolded her loudly,"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WRONG? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WRONG? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WRONG? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WRONG? TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE DOING WRONG! The young lady froze. "TELL ME WHAT YOU DID WRONG!" The young lady began to speak but instead tried again. It was so hard to witness that because you knew the young lady was so embarrassed. I simply could do no right either and Lisa let us all hear that. So, as she continued to scold me in front of the class, I handed my treats to my partner, Lisa said, "No, do it again!" I said, "No, I'm good, all done here." Lisa told me, "Do it again!" I tried and failed. I do not like being scolded for failing to execute it perfectly. I once again handed my treats off again, she said, "No, we are going to do it again." I finally just handed off my treats. My partner did the same errors I did and she said, "Good job." I responded,"Really?" The next family she tells them, "just do this at home since she won't stop barking because she is scared." Did you feed her today before class?" He replied, "I did not, I was at work." Lisa asks, "Did someone else feed her at home?" He replied, "Yes, I don't know I was at work." Lisa says, "If you want this to work you need to not feed her." "Your dog is not motivated by food." He just nodded his head and tried to train his dog. The next victims of Lisa's verbal slaughter. Lisa, asks, "Did you feed your dog today?" The lady sheepishly says something. Lisa says, "I can't hear you." "If you are not going to follow the rule I gave you not to feed your dog the day of class, then why come here and waste your time?" Wow, that was super harsh and humiliating as Lisa moves away from her. "You need treats that will motivate, go buy these treats, " says Lisa. Another training exercise Lisa wants to demonstrate to us "how it feels to have someone put their hand above your head" approaching each one of us in the class. The young lady next to me goes first, "You don't like it do you?" says Lisa. The young lady says nothing. My turn. Lisa places her hand above me and says, "you don't like it do you?" I said,"doesn't bother me." Lisa replies loudly, "She wants to punch my face!" "I see it" "Go ahead. I'm giving you a free pass to punch me in the face." I asked, "What are you talking about." Lisa moves on to my partner asking if he liked it, he just laughed. There are more examples of terrible communications from Lisa, but enough said. I did contact the store's assistant manager or who claimed to be the store's assisting manager and she suggested refunding all of us the money paid for class and to continue taking the class if we wished, she said she was going to write the complaint and justify the refund and submit it to Josh the store manager. I had not heard from Josh despite the many calls I made to the store and left messages for a return call. Today October 28th, 2017 Josh called me and with an attitude asked what I wanted as he had me on speaker phone. I explained the whole situation of the behavoir an attitude of Lisa, he made no apologies. I asked, "what are you going to do to resolve this problem?" I said, "Lisa never apologized either. Josh said, "If you don't like her why did you continue to come to class." I asked, "Really? It's my fault?" Yes! You're not going to apologize? Josh, "no." read more

I had worst ever experience with my 4.5 month-old puppy in their grooming salon! The staff was so rude and unfriendly to me. It seemed that they had no customer relations skills at all. If you want to have a happy, trouble-free life never go there! I never expected such aggressive behavior toward my dog and me. Despite being a return customer they lost all the information about my puppy's vaccinations and blamed me for their mistake. They never apologized for losing my dog's records and flatly refused to serve us! The groomer Amanda and the manager on duty were the worst ever! I'm so glad I have the ability to share my experience so that other people never have to go through what I experienced. Worst employee engagement with a customer ever seen. A PetSmart employee--big blonde lady with long glitter nails would not give me (the customer) the online price of $12.34 (diff. of $4.12) for a 100 pack of GNC Hypoallergenic Cat Wipes, because she lied about the price--- First stating, It's "A dollar more online", then stating, It's "the same price online as the shelf price". I found it hard to believe because Four times before I've gotten the online price due to a picture I took on my phone of the page with item and price, but today I didn't have that, and the employee just outright lied to me about the price. I came immediately home, looked up the price and found the price to be $12.34 online. I called your store to speak to a Manager and there was No Answer. This is my second visit here for grooming services. The first time everything was great, they introduced me to nail grinding of my dogs nails,it was a different staff. Booked for services for Friday (which I had to adjust my schedule at work) then they call me on Friday an hour before the appointment and said they had to cancel my appointment and move it to a Sunday morning without letting me know there is an extra charge for weekends, in the end charged me for that extra even though they had rescheduled the services. This time I asked for the extra nail grinding services with bath. The staff (Violeta) was not at her best mood (might had a bad start) I guess. Not friendly at all to the dog nor to the owner. Not at all happy with today's services, The nails were not done good, they are still long. When they telephoned me to let me know to pick the dog, I reconfirmed about the nails. Do not waste the extras services on staff who doesn't do a good job. Didn't want take my dog right back to fix those nails with the attitude she had, cause you never know what the dog would go through again with that attitude. This is by far the best pet store in town! Monica helped me every step of the way. Her passion and love for guinea pigs made me a believer. I was looking into pets for my 8yo son you should have seen how much she loves guinea pigs she was beaming with joy holding one as she explained to me how good they are with kids and that there very docile by nature so no worries about bites on little fingers! Now my son has as she put adorable bunny rats that he loves. It's refreshing to see someone so passionate about what they do. Today I took my pup Nala to get a bath and her teeth brushed. She is a hybrid Sheba/ Husky mix and very vocal. Aileen did a great job handling her. $3,000 grooming appointment. I try not to go to this place, after repeatedly poor service over the years, but I needed my dogs nails trimmed and my professional groomer was booked. I set up a bath appointment that included bath, brush, sanitary trim, paw trim, annal glands, and nail trim. A few hours after dropping my dog off my spouse picked him up. When he got home there were dots of blood on the carpet. They had hit the quick in the nail so I had to put quick stop on it and clean up the mess. I then noticed that he didnt get a sanitary trim and I'm assuming anything else he was supposed to have done. Not surprising. A few days later, my senior dog became extremely ill, vomiting and diarrhea for several days. He had to be taken to an emergency vet and kept overnight. They ran lots of tests and found nothing wrong, except elevated white blood cells, indicating he was fighting something off, likely a virus. It cost $3,000 to find this out. He then gave this illness to my first dog (who had brought said virus home from the groomers) and eventually to my puppy. The dog that went to the groomer was the only animal that had left the house in weeks and the incubation time lines up. So, after two weeks of cleaning up dog vomit and diarrhea and having special chicken and rice diets and spending $3,000 on that hot mess I would say this is THE WORST GROOMING SALON IN THE BAY AREA and you're better off having a shaggy or dirty dog than have it go here. Never again, this was the absolute final draw on years of lackluster work. read more

I love shopping at this PetSmart!!! The workers are all sweet and welcoming and actually tell me about their promotions. The store is clean and always neatly organized. I've never seen a dead fish in their aquatics and their animals look lively and healthy. I wish they stocked more doggie clothes. They always sell out in my dog's size! I'm a dog groomer at a rival company, but I can appreciate how clean their salon looks and how there are two computers at their disposal. They carry the Andis 5-Speed Clippers that I love, their quick stop powder is to die for, and their paw balm smells so heavenly. read more

This was our first time going to the Fairfield location and with the groomer Chey. We usually have a good experience with PetSmart. My dog came out clean looking but she was handed to us wet. The groomer said she was unable to dry her because of "time constraints" even though we showed up early to check her in. The first red flag was when we showed up early and was told we would be helped after she's done with the current dog. This went past our appointment time before checking our dog in. Also, I always ask about anal expressions when I get my dog groomed which usually gets a run around answer including this time which was not surprising. PetSmart shouldn't include anal expressions in the price for big dogs since "they don't need it" or remove the drying cost when staff do not feel like doing it. A wet dog is as bad as dirty dog so this defeated the purpose of coming here and spending our money. read more

My first grooming experience went great , I had no complaints. My second experience was much different. I paid $70 for my dog to be groomed and on the car ride home I found a flea on his hind leg. Mind you he didn't have fleas before I took him in . Lucky me it was just the one. Later that night I discovered my dog was constantly licking himself and flicking his ears and struggling to get comfortable. Turns out he has clipper burn on the inside of his ears and his groin. It's been three days and my dog is still acting uncomfortable and sad. He's not playful and energetic like he usually is, he's acting as if the grooming has traumatized/ stressed him out. I will never be taking him back here as I paid a good amount of money and was unsatisfied with the results. Update: I just spent a total of $244 dollars at the vet because my dog has been so miserable since his grooming which was four days ago. The vet said his anal glands were full and likely not taken care of by the groomers like they claimed. On top of that the burns from the clippers needed to be treated with antibiotics because the irritation caused my dog to lick the area making it worse. To top it off he also has an EAR INFECTION because it is likely the solution they used on his ears caused him to have an allergic reaction and swell. So all in all save your dog and your money and find a better groomer than this chain store. read more

She is a pet lover and it comes through in how she cares for the animals she grooms. The staff within the store is also great.l, always cheerful and helpful. Booked a grooming appointment at this PetSmart for our 9-month old English Bulldog. She was to have a bath and the Furminator Package. Normally, we get a bath for her and it takes about an 1 1/2 hours to complete.....so one would think this package today would take longer because it encompasses more. I drop her off at 1:00 and at 1:30 the groomer calls me and says my dog will be done in 15 minutes. I said there is no way she is done! She said that no matter what service she gets it has to be done in an hour because of her breed and they can't put her in a kennel. This is crazy! I paid $55 for this service that took less than hour when a bath took an 1 1/2 hours and I paid only $30. read more

Today 2/4/2019, I find out that the wet food has been voluntary recalled. I took my 6 cans of dog food back to the store for my money back. Even though I didn't have my receipt and I don't like giving my phone number for purchase tracking information, I was treated very rude and unprofessional by Liz, the manager. I offered to show her on my bank statement that I bought these items from her store, because I didn't have my receipt, I had to accept store credit to get my money back from a very snarky young person. Ms. Liz, its the customer that gives you your job to pay your bills. You should learn to respect your meal ticket as your job is not very hard. It would have been nice if you could have said, "Sorry for your inconvenience, ma'am". Its sad that we humans treat each other worst than animals. My dog has been throwing up lately and I couldn't figure out why until today with this recall. I understand its not the store's fault to get a "recall/bad" product from a vendor. Unprofessional and Disappointing. I've been getting my dog groomed at different PerSmart locations for 11 years and have never had a problem. This was our first time at this location. We told Aileen our dog was nervous (it was very loud and very busy) and she proceeded to crouch down to get into his face, back him into a corner, and push her hands into his face. Then she timidly poked him in the back legs and was surprised when he got upset. He was terrified of her. She wasn't even his groomer! I've never met a dog groomer who had worse instincts when it comes to interacting with dogs than Aileen. This is clearly not the job for her. I had them bring my other dog back and would not let them groom him. Will not return. read more

I got home and he did not look real clean so I started looking at him and he still got mud and debris etc. stuck in his fur underneath his armpits and on his face and around the back of his legs. The staff needs more training in all aspects of the parlor side. From how to handle pets and the attitude towards them. I don't like staff yelling at pets when they don't obey. I also don't like the way they drag the pets on the floor by their neck if they don't want to walk with them towards the back. I also witness a staff talking on the phone with the owner saying they poop all over the place after the bath and got it on all over the bottom side of the dog. Probably because the dog is scared with all the dogs in the back. They took out the dog to the front and instead of another quick bath from where all the wet poop..they just wiped the dog down. I understand that they paid for one bath but cammon...be compassionate with the dog this is after all a dog place. To the other staff...I don't think their heart is where they want to be. Pet Smart should pay more attention before hiring on how they act arou d pets and how to handle. My Dog has gone to this PetSmart location for over 3 years now. On 09/07/18 On her scheduled appointment, I noticed a lot of staff stress environment. And changes. I pick up my precious girl and no problems. We walked her 1 day after she got her nails & bath done by. Jeneann cut her nails so short, that on her walk she bleed so bad. I took her to the vet on Monday for possible infection?.They provided her medication just in case. But then 09/21/18 she had an appointment with Marina( she is very good). But again i noticed a lot of enevironmental stresoors. I was thinking to choose bathing my girl home. I took her to the vet on tueasdy, i was concerned w/ some symptoms of cough. She had the canine flu. (even my dog had the CFlu shot in previuosly). My beautifl girl went downhill for 3 weeks. for been healthy to died 3 weeks later on09/28/18. I contacted Amanada and she nevr contacted me back. I will never take any dogs to petsmart. read more

We took our dog to get groomed, and they called to reschedule 30 min later. We arrived and a really nice employee helped her calm down because she was too energetic and a bit scared. We had a anti bark mussle on her and a employee yelled at us to take it off now, so we did and she barked once and another employee saw and she said no to take her out and refused our service. We tried to talk to the employee who rudely told us to leave and she kept talking over us and did not let us say a thing or let us explain that she was adopted from a shelter, so we left. We just wasted our time going and got yelled at by employees for no reason. Instead of telling us to train our dog, PetSmart should train their employees. There are nice employees who try to help and there are employees who don't want to gain customers and dont care for buiness. I will never be going back to a PetSmart. I recommend Petco way better now. read more

Very clean new store.. Great customer service. You are immediately greeted at the door. Groomers are very thorough and attentive to customer requests. Took in my 65LB Pit Bull for a bath and nail trim. Danny was very helpful and listened to my requests and questions. I was told an hour and a half before I can pick up my dog and he called me on the dot. When I went to pick her up he told me how well she did and made a recommendation for her next visit. Please keep giving this level of customer service and attention to details. Im in sales and customer service so Im usually very critical on the service I get. I will be booking my next grooming appointments at this location and will be buying my dog food and treats from here as well. Good job guys! read more
