All the reviews regarding the abysmal service are true. In particular the one guy who works there (the owner I believe.) I've come to this place around 7 times now and every time I've had some sort of off putting interaction with this guy. He was never outwardly rude but just no people skills. I always felt rushed and like I was an inconvenience and annoyance to this guy, not a customer. I've always overlooked it, never saying anything. Today confirmed my suspicions that the service is just flat out horrid. They're posted close time is 9 pm. I worked out down the street and made sure to hurry over before it was too late. I did not want to be that guy who walks in 5 minutes before close so I made a concerted effort to get there with plenty of time to spare before close. I walked in at exactly 8:25 pm, party of one. This is more than enough time for me to order, eat, and leave before they even close. Guy comes over and without even offering a menu asks if I know what I want. I tell him I know which appetizer I'd like to order, but ask for a menu to look at the entrees to which he replies very curtly "the kitchen closes soon." I reply that I'm aware that they close at 9 pm. He proceeds to stare me down as I explain to him I will look over the menu quickly if he wants to go ahead and order the spring rolls. A few minutes later the girl who works there, who is polite by the way, comes over to ask if she can take my order. I told her yes, I just wanted to make sure I can get my appetizer first so I have time to finish it before the pho. He then barges into the conversation and starts going on a rant about how they're short staffed and and the kitchen needs to close. I told him I understand that but I feel like I'm being rushed to just get out of there which is annoying, especially considering there is plenty of time before they close. Also, I don't appreciate the "we're short staffed comment." I understand that, I work in an emergency room. We've been short staffed for months upon months yet we continue to push forward and never deny service to anyone. It's not that he's short staffed, he just wants to leave. I wonder what his excuses were pre-pandemic. So he continues to argue with me to which I finally tell him I just don't want to hear or argue about it. He walks away and it's at that point I decided I was done. The other nice worker comes over to take my order. I hand her my card and tell her I'll just have the spring rolls and leave. She was apologetic which I appreciate but I told her no apology necessary. I ate my spring rolls, paid, left a tip, and made a conscious decision to just never go there again. There are much better places to eat than Pho Envy. Places where I and my patronage will be welcomed. read more

They have pretty good Pho! First time I had Pho in Texas and I was pleased. Thumbs up.

While I was not that impressed with their regular pho dishes, I was really impressed with their curry chicken pho. I have been back here just to get that dish. The curry pho was rich in taste with just a touch of heat, and not too salty. The pho noodles are standard fare, and the chicken in the soup ranged from slightly overdone to perfectly tender and moist in the two times I've had it. Highly recommended. The salt and pepper chicken wings are also really good. Deep fried and then tossed with salt, pepper, fried garlic, fried jalapeno slices, it really hits the spot. The crispy bits of garlic over the chicken are fantastic. Also highly recommended. I did not order it myself, but a friend ordered the dry vermicelli bowled with grilled pork. It was the largest vermicelli bowel I have seen at a Vietnamese restaurant. I got taste it and found it to be very good. I plan on coming back to have it myself. The Thai Iced Tea was only ok. Edit: On another visit my wife tried the Curry Pad Thai. We found the combination of curry flavor with the Pad Thai peanut sauce to taste odd. It just didn't work for us. read more

I went on Sunday afternoon 2/25/18 for lunch. Service was prompt. I ordered the veggie pho and fried tofu spring rolls because I do not eat meat. The spring rolls were okay, not great but not bad by any means. The pho was okay and had a good mix of veggies and lots of tofu. Not long after my friends and I began eating, one of them found a sharp piece of plastic in his pho. When he brought it to the attention of the staff, they quickly exchanged his bowl with little explanation or courtesy. Leery of that, I began eating my pho, perusing the different items in it as well as being on the lookout for anything that shouldn't have been there. It had mushrooms, baby corn, lettuce, and some other goodies and... a piece of chicken. Fortunately, I was eating slowly and paying attention, so I didn't actually eat the piece of chicken but I was not pleased to find it or to have to wonder how it got there. The menu said veggie broth; needless to say, doubt has been cast on that. When I brought it to the attention of the staff, the bowl was promptly taken away and the checks were brought. I was informed that I was not charged for the pho, again with no real courtesy or explanation. My friend with the sharp plastic in his pho was charged. I know that the restaurant business can be hectic, that there are off-days and accidents will happen, but the place was near empty. I think there might have been three other people in there, tops, in addition to my group of three, so it's not like they were in a rush or overwhelmed. There's no good explanation for those incidents or the way they were handled. I hope what we experienced was a freak set of occurrences and someone with food allergies doesn't have their food cross-contaminated or that there isn't someone who hurts themselves on sharp objects. I hope it was just an off day but I personally won't risk eating there again to find out. read more

Pho was average for Pho. Prices higher then most for same or better quality. I guessing you are paying for location. Staff was friendly and helpful. No option for small and large bowl. All in all, worth a try. read more

Came here today on my lunch break. I work in the same building so I've been wanting to try it for a while now. I ordered chicken fried rice. I'm used to spending between $5-$8, but $10 is outrageous. I didn't know this place existed. We have been going to North Park for 20 years and rarely ventured west to Hillcrest for food. I am glad we did. This is our new stop for Pho. No need to drive to Garland when we are already at the North Park area. Great salt and pepper chicken wings as well. We were impressed by the portions and the taste of each dish was superb. Pho is average, broth not as flavorful as pho is for lovers. The service is good but the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. The staff is very friendly and the food very fresh and high quality(they use lean chicken cuts with no fat unlike other similiar restaurants). They have a great variety of dishes and various types of food from Pho, to pad thai, to orange chicken which is why I eat there a few times a week!!! read more

Disclaimer: I've never eaten the pho here. I've been twice and have tried the spring rolls, the vermicelli bowl, and the banh mi, and all are incredible. The banh mi has got to be my favorite--the vegetables are pickled just enough to add a sour note without overwhelming the other flavors, and everything is toasted to crispy, spicy-mayo-y perfection. Love, love, love this place. I have been visiting a friend for a week and due to weird circumstances she has not been around much. (very, very sick dog). Anyway I have been here twice and it is exceptional. I have had four different dishes all are really wonderful and moderately priced. I have eaten at a lot of Vietnamese places and this tops them all. Love the clean brite atmosphere, wonderful girl that works as a server both times. etc. P'S. If you get tired of the ridiculous rents in park cities and want a more laid back lifestyle please, please move to Flagstaff, AZ. We are a small tourist/university town in the mountains that currently supports 4 Thai places. We so would keep you lined out the door in our town. That and a Korean BBQ place we are in dire need. read more

This place is a hidden gem and might have the best Pho in Dallas. Broth is just right and the quality of meat is amazing. My only complaint is the quantity is not as much as other pho restaurants. And at $9 a bowl it is more expensive. But the service was great and the food is awesome. If they offered a large bowl at $10-11 I'd prob eat here multiple times a week. read more

I ordered takeout- shrimp pad thai ($11). The ingredients lacked freshness and the dish had a very poor flavor. By far the worst pad thai I have ever eaten. I was out running errands and saw the marquee for this restaurant. Returning home, I decided to stop in. Inside is very contemporary and fresh. The waitstaff greeted me, were very friendly and very attentive. I ordered the steamed chicken dumplings and chicken Phô. Both dishes were prepared perfectly. It was so delicious. read more

Staff was not very friendly. The meal I chose came with a drink and 2 egg rolls. When I noticed I didn't have it and asked for it, the gentleman (who also took my order) looked through my tied, knotted bag and then requested to see my receipt before going to the back and getting it for me. Best Pho in Dallas! Traditional spring rolls are fantastic...they don't skimp on the meat like most places, and it doesn't look like it came frozen in blocks. I usually won't eat beef at a Vietnamese place but the P2 is where it's at. Vermicelli bowls are awesome too. There are definitely closer, cheaper pho spots near me but Envy is worth the extra few miles. read more

Asked if I could have a small pho. Waiter said it was not possible. I explained that I had ordered the small pho many times, being a regular customer. He insisted that they did not offer a small size pho. We went round and round for a short time and I finally settled for the child's (small bowl) that came with egg rolls, which I did not want, and he said ok. When this waiter brought the pho it was a large bowl. I asked why not a small bowl, he said that he misunderstood my order, which was ridiculous, seeing how we had a 3 minute discussion over my wanting a small pho. This is the third time I've had lunch here, but the first time I've ordered something other than Pho or Lo Mein. This time I went for something different and tried the Lemongrass Chicken. I was not disappointed. The steamed rice which accompanied it, my choice you can get other types of rice, was cooked perfectly. The main dish was outstanding! The chicken was perfectly cooked, it came with scallions, white onions and jalapenos. The dish struck a perfect balance between spicy, lemon flavor and saltiness. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone who is dining at Pho Envy. The service was attentive without being overly obtrusive. Although I went early and the place was empty, it started to fill up as I finished my meal. If you are in the area, give this place a whirl. Nice place. Spur of the moment decision to go to this place since it was the close by. We ordered the p1, and spicy pho. Veggie. Only issue was when we walked in during lunch time, they were pretty busy. But they did apologize profusely later on that they were short staffed. Food wasn't too bad. I have eaten better. We When we walked in, the air-conditioned didn't seem to be on, so I told them personally to switch it on and the rest of our time there was great.. I had my standard pho tai with meatballs it was average at best with little meat. Broth flavor not bad but not strong. Near the end no flavor in the broth. Also had sandwich which was decent made more like a panini then traditional Vietnamese sandwich. Pho,sandwich,tea and tip $20. Other pho place $12-13$. Probably wont be back but had to try it. This restaurant has the best pho in town. I have tried many and this one tops everything else. Also if you get an app called tango tab, which has lots of restaurant coupons, you get 25% off your total bill. My favorite is the meat pho. They have a clean restaurant and clean bathroom. read more

With the massive influx of pho restaurants in the DFW area, it's often hard to tell which ones are legit and which is just MSG broth. The pho here is truly homemade tasting and we like that it comes with lots of vegetables our favorite is the shrimp with vegetable curry pho. We are like the beef filet stir fry dish! read more

This is delicious food with friendly and prompt service. The pho is delicious and the curry sauce is truly one of the best I have had in Dallas. The only negative is that the chicken tastes a bit fatty. I'd stick to vegetable or other protein. They give you huge portions so splitting is definitely an easy option. The broth is rich and delicious. I wish they had bok choy, but that's a minor thing. Great little neighborhood spot. Food picked up to go is packed well to keep everything fresh and delicious (with pho condiments and broth separate, etc.). The spring rolls are delicious and cheap! They're hard for me to resist. You can't go wrong with any of the protein fillings for the spring rolls. The rice and noodles are homemade delicious--nothing boxed or frozen here. Really good place. read more
