I and my girlfriend went there and we ordered 2 pho and 2 piece rice roll and they charge us 30 bucks. I really don't care about money if the food is good but it wasn't. My girlfriend asked for vegetarian pho and it was literally 4 pieces of veggies and 80% water. Mine was steak and brisket and there was on piece of meat in there. My husband and I have been coming here for about 5 years now. The servers are always friendly, the food comes quickly, and it's tasty. Sometimes I stop by in the middle of a busy day and have a bowl of cold vermicelli -- especially tasty on a hot summer day in the Valley. Several days ago I ordered BBQ beef ban mi and enjoyed it. This place was well kept and clean, but the food was sub-par in comparison to some of the better pho restaurants that I've been to. The broth id quite watered down and the meat that it was served with was thin, of low quality, and had barely any in the bowl. If you're a die hard pho fan, I would definitely skip on this restaurant. On top of that, their door chime rings four times every time the door opens, ruining the dining experience. read more

There is definitely something not quite right with the broth of their Pho. I don't know if it's diluted, but it is "off". I agree with other reviewers on the lack of meat as well. The decor is nice, but that does not make up for bland Pho. I haven't tried anything else on their menu, but based on the Pho alone, I would not waste your money here. read more

I enjoy coming here a lot. I know it's owned by Koreans but I still think it tastes the same. They are not stingy with the extras and the service is good as well compared to the other pho places. I also appreciate that they try their heat to accommodate you and even though I've seen people being rude to them, they are not rude back. And they are very very clean in my opinion. This was the second time I came here, and the last. My boyfriend and I walked in, nobody greeted us, so we sat down at a table. A random waitress came up to us didn't even say hello, but asked "can you move to the 2 person table by the door, this is the last 4 person table we have." Although I did not want to move, we did, and were placed right by the door where it was freezing and had no space. There were 4 other 4 person tables open, and a couple sitting at a 4 person table right next to us which didn't make sense to me. Then 5 minutes later a waitress finally asked us if we wanted drinks, I ordered a green tea and it was the worst tea I have ever tasted in my life, with and without syrup. My boyfriend ordered a tai iced tea and they do not have boba which was also disappointing. I ordered the vegetable pho, and it literally had 2 pieces of bok choy and 3 pieces of mushrooms. The broth was tasteless, and the noodles tasted old and everything tasted watered down. The waitress didn't check back with us for another 15 minutes and the owner just stood at the register pretending to be working, and staring at everyone uncomfortably. I was so disgusted at their product I only too a couple of bites of the pho and literally stopped eating. My boyfriend ordered the steak and tripe and he had about 3 or 4 pieces of meat, and I tasted his and the broth was completely watered down. Then a group of about 12 Asian Americans walked in and they served them drinks right away, moved 3 tables together, gave them great service, and then did not attend to us any longer. So here we are a mixed couple, sitting directly by the door freezing, HORRIBLE food, horrible service, and completely disrespected. I will NEVER give them any business ever again, I can make better quality in my own kitchen. Would not recommend this place to anyone, do not be fooled by their mediocrity, they are horrible. I've ate here at the restaurant once and I've ordered take-out once. Both times were disappointing. The take-out portion was extremely small and what kind of pho restaurant doesn't give you basil? You're charging nearly $10 for a bowl of pho, which is quite expensive compared to other pho restaurants, how are you going to substitute basil with cilantro..? My husband and I had some business in Studio City on Friday. It was cold and wet so we thought we'd drive up to get some lunch here. We split a small rare beef pho, pork fried rice and 4 pieces of egg rolls. Every thing was delicious! The hot broth was quite pleasant on a chilly day. I always noticed this place on my way to class and never bothered to try it out. Today, we tried the place because it was close compared to our favorite Vietnamese spot. My first impression was pretty good . After ordering, the food took an unreasonable time to come out, I understand how long it should take depending on how busy it is, the reason I say this is it wasn't busy at all that time. When the egg rolls came out, it looked good and it ends there. I sliced it and it was undercooked, the meat inside and the wrap shows it, plus you can tell it was frozen when it was fried and I just want to mention that they cut 1 letuce leaf into 4 pieces... Moving on to the pho that people are raving about, it was alright, nothing to brag about. First of, the proportion is so uneven. There was a lot of noodles, I mean ALOT! I saw 1 squid ring, a shell without the meat inside lol, half a squid ball and 2 shrimps, the pho was so far from an authentic Vietnamese pho compared to other places. Now, when the grilled pork came out and chicken with fried rice, again with the uneven proportion. They give u soo much rice and onion with it and we started looking where the pork is... Oh by the way, it didn't look anything like in the picture. Also, whats up with the shredded chicken? This is the first Vietnamese place that does that because other places gives you a whole or half chicken with the sauce, this place does not even give you the sauce. To be honest though, the fried rice was pretty good, not oily but I would suggest them to stop using frozen precut mixed vegetables because when you bite into it, it just ruins the rice, it was soft and looked old, I had to take them out. The price, not worth it for what you get. Lastly, the service, it was ok, not good or bad. They were nice and friendly but when I asked for a cup of water it was half full and food took an unreasonable time to go out, note: it was not busy. This is my favorite pho place in the valley! I have tried pho at many other places and it was always too greasy or tasted cheap. At Pho 22 it's always fresh and a fair price for how big their portions are. My boyfriend and I can't believe they have such a low rating! Had the #1 and fried egg rolls. The egg rolls were mushy inside in comparison to others i've had. The broth wasn't flovorful or hot. Usually the bean sprouts are less crunchy after a few minutes, but just not enough heat here. The plus side is the place is really clean and the staff super nice. I love Pho 22! I frequent them once a week (at least) I usually order the Tofu Pho and add dumplings. Its the best! They are very friendly and efficient. I usually order by phone for pickup and the order is ready within 10 min. With several Vietnamese restaurants on Reseda Blvd and close to this one, people will have a basis for comparison. First, the prices here are too high especially compared to the other Vietnamese restaurants nearby. Second, the taste of the food was nothing to rave about. With higher prices, you would hope the quality is better than other restauarants of similar cuisine in the area. Well, that hope was dashed. My fiancée ordered a vermicelli dish and she said it was plain. I was really disappointed by my Bahn Mi sandwich. My biggest dislike of the sandwich is they put it on a bolio roll instead of a French baguette. The bolio roll had this sweetness that did not work with the sandwich. Also, if the normal Bahn Mi is on a crunchy fresh French roll, the least they could have done is toasted the bread. Also, there was barely any pickled vegetables and herbs. The meat was decent enough, but overall highly disappointed with the sandwich. A more redeeming quality was the service was decent enough. read more
