If you're looking for very flavorful pho, check out this place. We ordered oxtail pho and spring rolls. We didn't have to wait long for our order and the staff were very attentive.
Came here again with relatives. It's great to have a big group to be seated together along the wall. They are very nice and would give you things you asked of. Picture of Pan friend noodle with chay sauce on the bottom for non beef eaters. Large Beef bone soup should have 3 bones. 2 already moved to the plate on the side. Looks like the small bowl would get 2 bones. Really like their pho!!! It tasted as good when reheated. Highly recommended.
One of the better pho shops around. I love how they give you filet instead of cheaper cuts of meat. Their xi Quach has lots of tendon. Definitely recommend getting it The broth was good. But I'll say. I wanted more pho flavor. Overall good bowl of pho but I had better. Plus cause lots of parking and their were very nice. And only had to ask for things once like extra lemons
I came here with my parents on a Tuesday around noon. The space was small, so there was a brief wait. Still, it didn't feel crowded or noisy at all, just comfortable. In a way, I would say that the food is comfortable, too. I thought that the flavors were a bit mild, but the portions made up for it. I got lots and lots of chicken in my pho ga. My mom got ASMR-worthy crispy egg rolls in her bun cha gio. My dad got not one, not two, but THREE short ribs with bones in his pho suon bo!!! My only regret is not getting a drink. The blenders were singing a siren song, and I noticed four different smoothies on the menu.
This place is a Korean own pho spot and this did not disappoint. The service was super fast and amazing. The pho was decently priced and the ambiance is fast paced. Everything we ordered hit the spot. I give it a solid 5/5. Not much to say but you have to try it.
After Disneyland we found this place located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Upon arrival we did have to put our names down and waited outside. Since this place does get busy. Small little restaurant, but the food was authentic. The outside doesn't have the greatest smell due to sewers water, but food came out fast and the staff were very attentive. The pho broth was seasoned just right, and they had variety of noodles for the pho thin or thick. The only con I did order the short ribs pho just to try, usually I never order this but first for everything. The meat did not feel tender, so I just mainly ate the broth and noodles. The Vietnamese coffee was on point though and spring rolls!
The servers here are all so welcoming and friendly. Pho broth was flavorful. Meat was tender everything was good. The small size was plenty for me. Definitely a well rounded pho joint in OC.
My usual pho spot was closed so I cruised here for lunch. Three things I look for that tell me a pho place is good: a busy restaurant, a line outside, and people eating by themselves. This place had all 3, including families and non-Asian people eating as well. I was greeted from the moment I came in. The staff were friendly and most importantly confident in their food. I said it was good, MF said it was great hahaha. I like a little spunk. Probably the best beef broth in OC. Plenty of meat given. You also get a choice of fat or skinny noodles (Northern or Southern style). Really close to the Pho 79 standard that Vietnamese people know. If you're in the area, and not looking to drive all the way to Westminster for a bowl of pho, this is the spot. In the words of the great Alysa Liu: THAT'S WHAT I'M FCKIN TALKING ABOUT!!!
Came here on a Saturday night. We got seated right away. My husband ordered a large pho ($1 more from the small). He got a #1 (combination w/everything - tripe, tendon, brisket, rare steak and well-done flank). The broth was very tasty and not super oily like some other places. I got the #41 (grilled pork and egg rolls) vermicelli dish. The grilled pork was tender and had a lot of flavor After we placed our order it came out lightning fast! The soups were all very hot and loaded with meat!! Overall, service was great, price is reasonable and pho is delicious. We probably will be returning in the future.
Came here at around 1pm on a Tuesday. We were seated and served right away even though there were hardly any empty tables. Was super excited bc I hardly get to go out for lunch. The broth was good. I got the rib pho which I must admit was huge but there was a lot of tendon and fat to pick through. I should've just got what my husband got which was a regular pho. Service was ok. Ambiance is in and out.
Was in the area so decided to stop by Pho 45 after hearing from people that it's one of the best in OC. Upon arriving, wait staff were extremely friendly and greeted people at the door. Orders were taken quickly and water/drinks plus condiments were out seconds after. Food came out pretty quickly as most pho shops do. The pho broth tastes clean, beefy, a hint of sweetness, not overly salty. In my opinion this is the perfect everyday broth. Most places in OC have either a dark herb heavy broth or a light sweet broth. The previous reviews are not kidding when it comes to the portions, definitely generous and good quality. Didn't seem that busy when I went, possibly because it was close to opening time, perhaps busier on weekends. Would definitely visit again! Friendly people and amazing food.
Hole in the wall! Hidden in a plaza by a well-known Ondal Korean restaurant, this place offers a super affordable and delicious bowl of pho. Service is quick too! For their No. 1 special with LARGE pieces of tendon and lots of meats, it's only $14.50. What's crazier is that their LARGE size is only $1 more so cheap! Soup is not heavy and LOTS of stuff on it that you can even see the noodle

To be honest its hard finding a good pho place. I always compare pho places to my my moms homemade pho. You can never beat home made food from your mom but this place was actually pretty close. I can see why the stars are so high and also the reviews. The gf and I decided to come eat here around 10 PM. They also open late! Which is awesome! Actually it was really busy as well. We went with the normal pho dac biet. So much flavor in the broth soup. Also packed full with noodles and also with the filet nice and soft. This place is a go to pho place if you live in the area! read more

Lots of pho places in this city but what makes this place special? I love the meat served at this place! That's also what they're known for as well! It's different from your typical pho place that serves rare steak which is stiffer. Instead it is chewier here and they give you a good proportion! It didn't take long before the food came out after ordering. The broth and noodles are delicious as well. I would definitely come back here frequently! read more
I'm gonna have to 86 this after today. Pho 45 is a Vietnamese restaurant on Garden Grove Blvd in Garden Grove. It was our impromptu plan B after we realized that our go-to fave closer to the heart of Little Saigon was closed for the day, Having not tried it before, of course I was ready to give it a go (and a review). Service was fast, and so was fulfillment of our pho orders. That was a good sign, as any legit pho place will have a huge vat of hot broth going at all times ready to serve. The first negative foreboding sign was the presence of some older, partially rotten Thai basil and culantro leaves among the side dishes. Most of the best spots have more attention to detail than this. That wasn't the worst of it though. The real issues were with the flavor, or lack thereof, in the broth. It definitely had the requisite spice, but there was a distinct lack of umami, that savory oomph that some people deride as an additive but ultimately is necessary for a complete flavor profile. After a few bites, I grew increasingly bored with what I was tasting, and only the unusual addition of fish sauce was able to save the bowl. That's not to say that it was a completely negative experience. Most if not all bowls are $8.50 for the small size or $9.50 for the large, which is acceptable. The meat portions were pretty generous, but then again, those too were blend. The "fresh" noodles were just soft enough and weren't overabundant. I won't return to Pho 45 when I can easily find better options all over town, or even in Las Vegas of all cities. They may be close in geography to the best pho in the world, but they are not close in recipe. Whoever decide that they were OC Weekly's best pho of 2017 needs to take another look. read more
There are so many pho restaurants in the area but one night we ended up here and we haven't gone to any other place since. The food & service is pretty consistent. You're greeted and seated right away, as long as there is a seat. They almost give you no time to look at the menu, they are right there ready to take your order. But if you ask for more time they happily step aside. The pho comes out super fast and it's piping hot. They serve a lot of meat with your soup. There is always a good ratio of soup, meat, and noodles to the last bite. When you order extra meat (filet mignon) they serve it raw with a small bowl of broth to cook the meat and then add it to your pho so you don't bloody up your soup. You can also see how much meat you actually get, it's not just added to your bowl. They are constantly refilling the chopsticks, napkins, and condiments at the table. It does get a little distracting but they are so busy and seat the tables one after the other. read more

Today I wasn't feeling good, and wanted to eat something warm, so I went to my favorite PHO place. It's not a fancy or big restaurant, but their food it's very good. Highly recommend it. read more

Got the small tai nam gau (eye round rare, flank, fatty brisket) and though small, it was so packed with so much meat. Broth was super hot all the way through the sitting, it couldn't believe it. Broth tasted authentic, not watered down or bland. Here, they take the time and effort to tenderize the eye round rare which makes a huge difference. Other places just cut it thin and and stack slices onto slices and it all sticks together and if you don't know how to use chopsticks, it's difficult to peel each slice off. Everyone wore masks and followed social distancing guidelines. Service was good however I had to ask for water 3 times lol. I didn't expect it but She did apologized when I went to pay which is quite rare that a Vietnamese place would do that hah read more

Just happened to drive by and found this place and we are so glad we did! They give you plenty of meat in their pho and the soup is so tasty! The service is great and they were patient with us when we asked about food items that people were ordering but not on the menu. I never drink coffee but ordered iced black coffee that will keep me up for a week. I highly recommend this place!! read more

This is my usual go to place for pho I think the broth was good so you don't even have to put in any Hoison sauce tbh BUT just now I found a hair in my pho, I'm pretty disgusted so that's why I'm giving them a 2 star. My photo is attached. read more
Came here on a Saturday night and they sat us down immediately. First of all, the pho here, are very good value! You can get a small bowl of pho (personally that's enough to fill me up) for around $10! The workers are all Vietnamese so you know that they know what they're doing and it's authentic! I chose the combo which has the usual brisket, tendon, rare steak and tripe. I added some chili, the chili is not too spicy definitely adds good flavor. I also dipped some of the beef flank and steak with Siracha sauce and that made it good too! Coming back here for a cheap and delicious meal option! read more

I've been to a fair amount of pho places and this is definitely one of my favorites! I went late on a Saturday evening, thought it would be quiet but it was packed! We got seated right away, got served so quick (pho places serve food pretty quickly but this definitely felt the quickest). I ordered a small pho with rare steak and ordered fresh spring rolls to share. The broth in the pho was so flavorful! The peanut sauce for the spring rolls tasted homemade and had an after taste of sesame oil which was different but so tasty. The staff was very friendly, refilled our waters so many times and I can tell that there are a lot of regulars that come - which is a great sign! It is located in a massive shopping complex so parking is super easy and they have late night hours during the weekend. They are open until midnight! read more

service was quick and friendly, i did wish i had a bit more time to look at the menu since it was my first time there. i got #1 pho, small with big rice noodles: the broth was flavorful, veggies were fresh and the portion is generous, so no complaints from me! this restaurant also doesnt charge for a minimum purchase for those who pay with credit card, so that's a plus :,) one thing though: i wish the tables weren't so cramped, it could be a bit hard to navigate during rush hours. overall, i would come back with my friends :))) Edit: i was eating my leftover pho and found a piece of hair on one of the meat pieces... that's why my review went from 5 stars to 3 stars.. hopefully that won't be the case next time... read more
My boyfriend and I came back to CA for the weekend, and I had a craving for pho. We came here, and we both ordered egg rolls and Pho Tai Nam. The service was super fast. I think we got our pho in about 5 minutes and the egg rolls came just before the pho. The egg rolls were delicious, and so was the pho, but I found a lot of fat on the meat. My boyfriend likes those pieces so I just gave them to him. Our waiter came to refill our water twice which I appreciated. I wish there would be a little bit more room between tables because I didn't like that when I walked between the tables to sit, my behind pretty much slides on the other persons table, and I don't think they appreciated that :o I like that this place is open pretty late so if I have a craving for pho, I can come here. I will probably go back next time I want some pho. read more

Took a random shot at this place and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT, came here around noon with family and kids. I was instantly welcomed with a warm greetings from the staff then I love how they brought out noodles for the little ones so they don't have to wait to eat. The hosts were really nice and offering recommendations. Then we ordered various food I got the pork chops and it was very delicious,Tasty and not too dry. Overall was a great experience and definitely will be comming back here next trip!!!! read more

Came for a late lunch around 2:30, the restaurant is pretty small so we had to wait 20 mins, not bad. We got the egg rolls, nothing to write home about. It's pretty cheap but there's much better around the area. Rib eye pho- now here's what we came here for! Really fragrant and delicious broth, not too oily and very flavorful. They also gave us blanched bean sprouts so bonus stars for them! So much better bc it doesnt make your soup get cold faster. Would definitely come back again if in the area! read more

Sometimes they bring the check to you, but sometimes you will have to stand up and form a line in front of a cash register to pay :) This place is really quick with their services (seating, ordering, food). I came at a perfect time so I sat right away, but usually there is a waitlist to write your name on a clipboard. I ordered #1 pho which had rare beef, beef flank, brisket, tendon, tripe. A lot of the times I go to a pho restaurant, the rare beef is tough, but the one here was nice and tender. They are not skimpy on the meat except I got like 3 like pinky size tripes, but other than that there was plenty of meats. The broth was honestly on the cleaner end, meaning less oily than other pho places which depends on your preference. You can also choose if you want the regular thin noodles or a little thicker noodle. I prefer the regular thin ones. There are about 11ish 2-4 person tables so people are in and out. The inside is pretty spacious and not too crowded. Pho 9/10 :) The plaza has shared parking so sometimes it is hard to find parking due to other businesses, but be patient cause a spot will open up. :) I will return for the vermicelli bowl :) read more

Nothing more calming than a piping, hot bowl of pho and cup of hot Vietnamese coffee to jumpstart a brisk morning. The veggies are fresh and enhance the light broth with minty flavors and crunchy textures. I was most impressed by how quickly my bowl made it to my table within minutes of ordering. Tip: order your tai (rare steak) separately and cook the raw tai as you eat. The staff is few in number but effective in service. They wear masks and gloves and enforce Covid-safety practices. Menus can be loaded onto and viewed on your phone. Parking available in the plaza shared with other businesses. read more

Super fast service and huge portions for a great price! The staff here was really nice and even though there was a long waiting list, the wait time wasn't long at all! Our food came out pretty fast after we ordered. We ordered a variety of items: Fresh shrimp rolls, stir fry, vermicelli, and pho. Everything was delicious. P H O here is the B E S T in town. We were recommended this place so we came in early before the lunch rush and there was already a wait but wasn't too long. The interior is very vietnamese, typical tables and chairs with some wall decorations. The menu is simple, they specialize in filet mignon pho with thick pho noodles instead of the typical thin ones. I personally love the thick noodles because there's more texture as well as taste to it. The pho B R O T H is super duper savory and very thick in flavors. The filet mignon is tender and juicy, thinly sliced so the meat just melts in your mouth. The vietnamese coffee and pennywort drinks are quite delicous as well. Highly recommend this place for their authentic Pho. read more

Came here drunk on a Sunday night at11:30p.m I don't know if I'm drunk yelping or not but the pho tai gan with large noodles is ridiculously good. Pho places with a number taste bomb,The soup even this late at night is so rich and the flanks of beef melt in my mouth. Hey get this even this late and being JAMMED packed to full capacity the waitresses and waiters were still so nice to me... Humerous funny customer service. A bunch of people were in line but we were magically seated within 5 minutes. This place has booths and seats . Clean, white, Mexican, Asian... Everyone loves it. Can't deny how good it is read more

Anybody knows when this restaurant is going to re-open for business? My husband & I kept calling both locations, La Mirada & Garden Grove but no one answers. We drove to La Mirada and saw a sign posted on the window that the will re-open on 4/19/20.

I can't imagine them NOT using fish sauce as that is one of the key ingredients in making pho.
Does the vegetable pho (pho rau cai) use vegetable broth or beef/chicken broth?
I'm not sure about that but you can request them to make it vegan! I did.
