Came here at around 1pm on a Tuesday. We were seated and served right away even though there were hardly any empty tables. Was super excited bc I hardly get to go out for lunch. The broth was good. I got the rib pho which I must admit was huge but there was a lot of tendon and fat to pick through. I should've just got what my husband got which was a regular pho. Service was ok. Ambiance is in and out.

After Disneyland we found this place located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Upon arrival we did have to put our names down and waited outside. Since this place does get busy. Small little restaurant, but the food was authentic. The outside doesn't have the greatest smell due to sewers water, but food came out fast and the staff were very attentive. The pho broth was seasoned just right, and they had variety of noodles for the pho thin or thick. The only con I did order the short ribs pho just to try, usually I never order this but first for everything. The meat did not feel tender, so I just mainly ate the broth and noodles. The Vietnamese coffee was on point though and spring rolls!

The servers here are all so welcoming and friendly. Pho broth was flavorful. Meat was tender everything was good. The small size was plenty for me. Definitely a well rounded pho joint in OC.

My usual pho spot was closed so I cruised here for lunch. Three things I look for that tell me a pho place is good: a busy restaurant, a line outside, and people eating by themselves. This place had all 3, including families and non-Asian people eating as well. I was greeted from the moment I came in. The staff were friendly and most importantly confident in their food. I said it was good, MF said it was great hahaha. I like a little spunk. Probably the best beef broth in OC. Plenty of meat given. You also get a choice of fat or skinny noodles (Northern or Southern style). Really close to the Pho 79 standard that Vietnamese people know. If you're in the area, and not looking to drive all the way to Westminster for a bowl of pho, this is the spot. In the words of the great Alysa Liu: THAT'S WHAT I'M FCKIN TALKING ABOUT!!!

Came here on a Saturday night. We got seated right away. My husband ordered a large pho ($1 more from the small). He got a #1 (combination w/everything - tripe, tendon, brisket, rare steak and well-done flank). The broth was very tasty and not super oily like some other places. I got the #41 (grilled pork and egg rolls) vermicelli dish. The grilled pork was tender and had a lot of flavor After we placed our order it came out lightning fast! The soups were all very hot and loaded with meat!! Overall, service was great, price is reasonable and pho is delicious. We probably will be returning in the future.

I am sorry I have doubted you my glorious king Pho 45. No matter what I come here at least once a week, order the same number 6 large, skinny noodles, with steamed bean sprouts, and sliced onions. With a glass of iced jasmine tea, the hangover that haunted me has now perished. This pho restaurant is very close and dear to my heart. The service is impeccable and they provide everything I need at the perfect time. The LeBron of pho

Was in the area so decided to stop by Pho 45 after hearing from people that it's one of the best in OC. Upon arriving, wait staff were extremely friendly and greeted people at the door. Orders were taken quickly and water/drinks plus condiments were out seconds after. Food came out pretty quickly as most pho shops do. The pho broth tastes clean, beefy, a hint of sweetness, not overly salty. In my opinion this is the perfect everyday broth. Most places in OC have either a dark herb heavy broth or a light sweet broth. The previous reviews are not kidding when it comes to the portions, definitely generous and good quality. Didn't seem that busy when I went, possibly because it was close to opening time, perhaps busier on weekends. Would definitely visit again! Friendly people and amazing food.

Hole in the wall! Hidden in a plaza by a well-known Ondal Korean restaurant, this place offers a super affordable and delicious bowl of pho. Service is quick too! For their No. 1 special with LARGE pieces of tendon and lots of meats, it's only $14.50. What's crazier is that their LARGE size is only $1 more so cheap! Soup is not heavy and LOTS of stuff on it that you can even see the noodle

We got the large Pho 45, and it was a great portion for sharing. The broth was really flavorful and delicious without being too heavy. They give a generous amount of meat, it honestly felt like there was more meat than noodles, which we loved. The prices were reasonable and affordable. Service was quick, and while the inside is on the smaller side, there are still a decent amount of tables. Definitely a solid spot for pho!

Pretty good pho place in OC! There's a bit of a wait, but it moves quick. They take your order quickly and serve everything quickly too. It's a very fast paced service restaurant which is a win for me! The soup is savory without being heavy or oily. There's SO MUCH meat like wayyyy more meat than other places and they give a lot of noodle too! A small size (which, is by no means small) is $13.99 and the large is $14.99 per bowl. The large will give more meat too, not just extra noodle or soup. VERY worth but also a VERY big portion. Also, you can pick your choice of small or big noodles. What was new for me was the 2 FREE items on the menu! Han Dam (pickled onions) and Hanh Tran Nuoc Beo (oil, most likely from the pho broth) really added to the experience. I added the onions and the oil into my bowl of soup and I think it upped the flavor profile for me. The veggies were fresh and they refilled hot tea for us too! The beef balls are also good and bouncy. The only disappointment was the egg rolls. Very small, not worth at all. The filling wasn't good either. It didn't match up to the quality of the pho at all so we were like ahh... this is what we get for ordering this. They're not known for it so just stay clear! Big parking lot, line moves quick (if there is one), and pay at the cashier (they won't give at table).

Pho 45 has a delicious bowl of pho. Came in for lunch on a Monday and the place was pretty packed. The service was amazing, very quick and friendly. I got the combination pho and some egg rolls. Sorry yelpers but I forgot to take pictures of the menu.

SERVICE (4/5): It's a traditional Vietnamese place, they bring you everything you need. If you need something additional, make sure to grab their attention and they'll bring it right away. But don't count on them coming by to check on you, just not how it works. When you're done with your meal, go to the cashier to pay. FOOD (4/5): $10 EGG ROLLS (4 PIECES): perfectly crispy & delicious! Served with fresh lettuce that you wrap around the egg roll and dip into the Nuoc Mam (fish sauce). $15 MINCED PORK (PIG SKIN) & GRILLED PORK VERMICELLI: I LOVED the grilled pork! It's so flavorful. I realize after trying this that I DO NOT like pig skin. For some reason I thought it would be crispy, but it was soft and chewy. Not my thing, I'll remember for next time. BUT the dish as a whole was yummy & super filling! Served COLD.

I've tried a few pho spots in the Little Saigon area and this is definitely up there on the list. The filet mignon pho is so good! It's made with tender slices of beef, plenty of it too, and the broth is rich without being overly salty. I like that they let you pick between thick or thin rice noodles (I went with thin, and it was perfect). The shrimp spring rolls are also worth ordering. They're fresh, light, wrapped tightly. It makes such a huge difference since at other spots they fall apart when dipping. Lastly, service was great and prices were super reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

Yes, they open for dine-in. Seating is limited as they space out every other table.

Me too. I kept calling them but no sign of operation. I have a same question and would be appreciated if anyone knows.

    Is this place cash only?

Nope. They take credit cards too

I am allergic with seafood, so I wonder do they use fish sauce in the broth? Thank you.

I can't imagine them NOT using fish sauce as that is one of the key ingredients in making pho.

    Do they offer grift cards?

    Yes, with $10 minimum

Does the vegetable pho (pho rau cai) use vegetable broth or beef/chicken broth?

I'm not sure about that but you can request them to make it vegan! I did.

Does this restaurant use msg in their pho beef broth?

You know a bag of potato chips has a ton of msg. Possibly the same amount if you drank all your broth. This myth that msg gives you headaches derives from racism in America against Chinese immigrants who had restaurants. Nothing against you eating… Read more

The soup reminded me of Rou Geng Tang, a Taiwanese thick soup but is still considerably different in flavor profile. It was delicious albeit a bit bland so I had to add the lemon and fish sauce that's on every table. I also added a ton of the chili sauce which I absolutely loved. It's very spicy and has the flavor profile of puréed fresh chilis. Tread lightly if you don't have a high heat tolerance like I do. Overall, it's good, albeit a bit pricey for what it is. They have the classic condiments on the side, the pickled garlic isn't very crunchy and kind of on the sweet side, the pickled chili does have that slight acidic kick that works well. I stopped by to try the Bún Chả Hà Nội and Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm, and overall it was a good experience…read more The grilled pork in the bún chả was tender with a nice smoky flavor, and the dipping sauce had a good balance of sweet and savory. The fresh herbs and noodles were crisp and complemented the dish well. The bún đậu mắm tôm came with a generous variety of toppings, and everything tasted fresh. The mắm tôm was flavorful without being overpowering, making it enjoyable even if you're not used to strong fermented shrimp paste. The restaurant was clean, service was friendly, and the food arrived quickly. While there were a few small details that could be improved, the overall quality and authentic flavors made it a satisfying meal. If you're craving Northern Vietnamese specialties like Bún Chả Hà Nội or Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm, this is a solid spot that's worth trying. I'd come back again.
