I get tai pho most everywhere I go, and I was extra hungry so I got additional meat... which actually ended up being a mistake, because there was too much for me! Owners are super nice as well as most of the staff. Although, be prepared if you don't know what you want to eat right away some of the servers tend to come off a little impatient. Don't pay any attention to them lol. I have frequented this establishment many times over the past few years and the food has always been consistent. A hidden gem as far as location for this delicious pho... Parking is tight, but well worth the patience of finding a spot. The place is nice and big in size, but gets busy!! They have a large menu, with so many amazing options. I'm a creature of habit so I stick with the Pho Ga and of course the shrimp spring rolls. Ordered this place on Postmates, I am a spring roll fanatic, if it's on the menu i'm ordering it. The rice paper was tough and all together they do not have much flavor, just dry shrimp and pork inside. The peanut sauce was also not good, very watery?? almost seems like it was watered down. The chicken pho was decent though. if it weren't for the spring rolls i'd give 3 stars but that definitely brought it down to 2 unfortunately. was really looking forward to trying this place too since i absolutely love pho :( read more

The food here is decent and the menu and atmosphere are authentic Vietnamese. The grilled pork vermicelli and egg rolls are delicious as is the pho, but the banh canh seafood udon noodle soup tasted way off. The restaurant's cleanliness felt like it should've been given a C rating. Make no mistake, I've seen far off worse pho restaurants. Now let's get down to the nitty gritty... They have many options on the menu that you can choose from. The catfish option totally caught my eye. Alas, I naturally went with pho. Sure, the broth was soothing and flavorful. Sure, my sinuses were totally cleared up but unfortunately, the pho lacked meat. I ordered the brisket, well-done flank, tendon and tripe. No sign of the tendon and tripe. The few pieces of brisket I did get were very dry. Fortunately, they partially made up for it with the large amount of noodles they gave. I left feeling unsatisfied. I love Pho 999's shaking beef. Hands down the best I've ever had. The pho is great as well. I usually order the Pho Tai but once in a while will order vermicelli with broiled pork and egg roll. The restaurant is fairly bigger than pho so 1 and has ample parking which is nice. They also sell boba tea too. Definitely recommend. read more

This is by far the best pho is the San Fernando Valley. Been here at least 10 times and the food is always delicious. I am a pho fanatic and they have some of my favorite pho ga around. Place always has customers because the food is good and the prices are definitely reasonable. I always get extra noodles with my pho and it's about $9. Their boba is good and the egg rolls are a good way to start a meal. This time around (photo) I ate it at home and they package everything separately which preserves the best experience possible. Their pho is really good, but they give you a lot of broth along with slightly undercooked noodles. No worries though! I'm an easy person and very forgiving. The staff are fine, not too shabby. I never get sick of this place. I've been to all their locations in the Valley and it never disappoints. The broth is so flavorful and rich, and they give enough meat in their pho. That said this place has the best pho in the San Fernando Valley, period. It's rich and flavorful! And they don't hold back on the meats. You'll be more than satisfied with your bowl serving. Despite there being empty tables all around us, there were still no available waiter to take our orders. We finally had to look around and ask, and it still took some time before they came. Additionally, their menu looks extensive, but don't be fooled. Over 5 items we asked to order were actually NOT suppose to be on the menu we were told. You can't get Che, banh cuon, bo kho, jelly drink, ca kho, Thai tea, and lemonade despite them being on the menu!! There's probably more mistake items on the menu at this rate. This place is one of the worst customer service places in the valley. I came in at 8:30pm and sat down to check the menu. The owner told me that they only have soups and some appetizers. She allowed me to order the egg rolls and wait for my fiancée to come to order. She arrived and they proceeded to tell me that the kitchen is closed. TLDR ROACHES FOUND ON THE TABLES. Holy crap man. I have never given an update to give less stars but this must be said. Last and FINAL visit we found a cockroach (see in the pics) crawling around the table and all over the sauce dishes. Look pests in a restaurant happen. We sat at the table in the middle of the restaurant behind the fish tank and unfortunately for one of our friends who is DEATHLY afraid of bugs to near phobia levels spotted the live roach scurrying about. Shockingly she was super composed and calm about it and just said let's sit somewhere else. I however was less so. While not rude in any way and respectful I went up to the front and quietly told the person working up at the counter. I didn't want to embarrass in front of the costumers. He merely shrugged and walked off. We already put in our orders but I was pretty taken aback by the audacity that they don't care that bugs are running around on their patrons tables and perhaps even in their food. I wanted to bolt but orders were put in and friends REALLY wanted vietnamese food and pho. Growing up in a restaurant and working in them I feel there is a type of karma that goes with the industry. You cut places slack that the general public that has never worked there normally doesn't. The restaurant industry is hard thankless and stressful so no need to make people feel worse about their profession. But that should give you an indication of how bad a place must be for me to unleash a rant like this. The final straw came when the roach CAME BACK and finally there was no denying it and the guy I spoke to early just killed it on the table and threw it away. HE didn't even WIPE THE TABLE. I don't know why this place doesn't have a higher rating. It has consistently good Pho broth, noodles, good portion of meat, and all the things you need when you want Pho. Yes, soda is expensive which is why I think it should be 4.5 stars (but I can't give half star reviews) but that's a very minute detail. This spot was SUCH a hit a few years back! I use to swear by this restaurant , and would travel from the AV just to eat here. Unfortunately, things change with time. I recently visited after a few years, and was so disappointed. They took off the desserts, which was the main reason I traveled so far to eat. No biggie. I ordered a bahn canh thit, and recieved bahn canh tom with only maybe four shrimp. I didn't let them know they got the order wrong because we already felt like we were bugging the waiter just by asking about dishes, so I just dealt with it. No yummy garnishes like before, just shrimp, noodle and broth. Broth was so bland, not like before. I was so disappointed in the way we were treated and in the quality of the food.
