I started ordering from this restaurant on Doordash pretty recently. The broth is clean and the chicken is fresh, I like how they keep the dipping sauce and chili's separate so you can control how spicy you want it. I usually get the rice noodle soup with chicken thigh and some intestines. They don't always have intestines available on Doordash. The only negative thing I would say is they are inconsistent when it comes to chopping the chicken. Some times it's chopped well, but sometimes it isn't and the bones of the chicken thigh protrude and is sharp, with some small bone pieces in the chicken meat. Finally got to try this place after my diet. Lol my boyfriend and I were hungry but wanted to share something since we were going to go to happy hour with some friends in a couple hours. We decided to share the banh cuon Luc lac, which I saw a friend eating from his Instagram story. Our food did take a while like 20 minutes while because another couple had also ordered 2 of this dish and they somehow got our order instead of there's which sucked but by the time we ate it, it was so good. The banh cuon pieces were nice and crispy, the beef was juicy and tender and I loved the flavor of this and liked that it came with a side of soy sauce. This review is only for take-out and is only missing that last star because I think I need to try their Pho Ga per the name of the restaurant before I give it a full score. My boyfriend and I were actually super intrigued by two of their dishes that we hadn't seen anywhere else, and only wanted to take out enough food for the two of us. - PARKING - Large parking lot but it seems to be busy ALL THE TIME. It's a bustling plaza with tons of shops, so you may not get the closest spot to the restaurant, but you're bound to find a parking spot somewhere. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - The restaurant itself is small/medium-sized, and was packed to the brim when we got there. We ordered to-go and it took about 25 minutes for the food to be ready. - FOOD - Crispy Pan-Fried Rice Noodles with Seafood ($13.50): We've had stir-fried rice noodles with the same Seafood mixture before, but when we saw the rice noodles were deep/pan-fried entirely, we were too curious to not try. They gave a lot of the Seafood sauce/mixture in a container to go, but I felt like they skimped on the amount of noodles. They were super crispy though, and were great to eat together. Great place for chicken pho. Their broth is simple and tasty. The chicken is fresh and the portion size is just right. Recommend adding the eggs to the pho. Their dipping sauce is good and even better when you add their chili. It's great that they open late so it will be our go to late night meal when we crave chicken pho. Try the Banh Cuon Bo Luc Lac. Skip everything else. Pho Ga Hai Van is a restaurant in bit of a hidden corner of the plaza at the southeast corner of Westminster Blvd and Magnolia St. I wasn't aware of it until it came up as a viable option for dinner, so we went here to order some foods to-go. While we waited for our order, they were nice enough to present us with some complimentary small bowls of their house special dessert, Che Dau Trang. It was quite good, although I wonder how much of that is due to how hungry I was at the time. As I alluded to earlier, the only dish truly worthwhile here was the dish otherwise known as shaken beef with crunchy rice rolls ($10.99). They made a creative textural play by rolling rice paper and frying it to a crisp, and I found both this and the crunchiness of the bell peppers and onions to be the key to the dish. The meat was mostly tender enough, and it was sauced well. This may be a worthwhile revisit considering that Tai Buu Paris, the former titleholder of Chris V.'s favorite Bo Luc Lac around Little Saigon, inexplicably closed not long ago. The other dishes weren't entirely lacking in proper flavor and textures, but with so many alternatives in the area, mistakes are magnified: - Canh Ga Chien Nuoc Mam ($6.99), better known as Fish Sauce Chicken Wings, were sometimes tough rather than tender and didn't quite present enough fish sauce flavor to distinguish it from a sweet and sour sauce. - Com Chien Ca Man ($8.99), aka salty fish fried rice, was properly cooked and seasoned but lacked in protein. - Pho Ap Chao GIon Thap Cam ($10.95), or combination crunchy pan fried noodles, was also flavored and textured appropriately, but also lacked in protein. I would like to give Pho Ga Hai Van another chance, but other than pho ga (which I don't bother with because beef is far superior), their menu is actually too small for me to find something significantly different. The only way that I'll change my rating will probably be if the Bo Luc Lac quality falls. Come here only to order that, and also enjoy a complimentary dessert at meal's end. read more

Btw it is California LAW as a human right to be served water. The prices are way too high for pho which are probably because of the robot which adds nothing to the already poor experience. Stopped by Pho GA Hai Van for dinner last night as we were craving something warm for the cold weather. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We all ordered the chicken pho. My sister ordered it with glass noodle and I ordered it with the traditional rice noodle. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the soup was delicious; it was light and clean. The onion and cilantro added to the broth elevated the flavor to the next level. The steamed chicken was served on the side. We added the chili peppers to the dipping sauce and it was AMAZING! I like coming here to get my pho ga because they have free-range chicken thighs with organs (heart, gizzard and liver) and little eggs (trung non). Fresh noodles are also available if you prefer a thicker strand than regular dry pho noodles. Broth is always clear; veggies are fresh and abundant. However, it is on the pricier side. Last Monday, June 17th 2024, three of us came to this restaurant for dinner. We ordered 2 bowls of Pho and 1 bowl of CHAO. WE asked for extra green onion heads on 2 bowls of Pho, but only got them on 1. We asked the server, who was very kind, friendly and helpful for extra green onion head, and he came back with only 2 pieces. We know it is not his fault as he is just a server, there must be kitchen staff who maybe be upset and did not want to give us extra green onion heads??? Also, CHAO is not warm enough We were wondering if the kitchen staff is not happy with what they are doing?
