Hesitated to go here because of reviews, but was reminded that not all reviews will tell you how good a place is. Ordered the spring rolls, Gabo pho, and special fried rice. The spring rolls were packed with pork and shrimp, balanced well, and tasted bomb with sauce (I didn't use peanut sauce, fish sauce + sriracha + chili oil). As for the pho, I was extremely surprised, it was actually good! The best pho I've had in the Beaverton area. I didn't have to add any fish sauce or additional seasoning - which in my book means that they got the broth right and is the most important to me when it comes to pho. The prices are more expensive than most Vietnamese restaurants. The Gabo bowl was pretty big, and was packed with plenty of meat so I definitely felt like we got our money's worth. The fried rice special came with plenty of chicken, pork, and shrimp. We got waters right away and they even brought waters with the sealed lids for our kiddos. The food was fresh and had such great flavors. An interesting thing about this place is that because it is next to Subway, you get the bread smell. The place serves traditional pho, along with other noodle soup dishes. They had an ox pho as well as a lobster one. Along with these options, they also have some daily specials. I got the traditional pho with the standard meat options. What is interesting about this place is that they also serve the pho with the option of a small bowl with an egg yolk inside it. I have not really seen much places do that up here, but it was an interesting touch. Overall the pho was decent and the amount of meat was was ample. This place is really delicious, the pho is quite flavorful and you get to choose all your 4 or 5 toppings, it's nice they let you customize your own toppings. And they have nice portion size. It is just the right amount of bread for the delicious fillings, which are packed with meat, vegetables and cilantro! Very fresh with just the right amount of sauce, so it is not a dripping mess. Love that! The vermicelli bowls are also my favorite. It has the right ratio of vegetables to meat to noodles! The vinegar sauce is also delicious, not too tangy and not too sweet. I have had vermicelli from other Vietnamese restaurants and often there is a "chlorine like" aftertaste, but there is none of that at Pho Gabo! I usually like to have beef tendon in mine, and they have the kind I like, which is the more gelatinous type. You get a pretty good amount of meat, the noodles are cooked well, and they do not skimp on bean sprouts. Also, if you do take-out or GrubHub, they package things up really nicely.
