Simply wonderful. Came on a chilly evening with dark and stormy weather out. Stepped into the room of happy families all sharing noodles. It was so cozy and warm in there, with clean tables and sweet people serving and greeting me as soon as I walked in. I get #3 and sip on the delicious broth, crunchy veggies and satisfying noodles and read. I love this place.

Service was quick. Our waiter was very attentive. I wasn't a fan of the spring roll it didn't have much flavor and the rice paper was chewy. The pho was so good! So were the fried rolls.

The restaurant has updated since my last visit. There was music playing and the lighting was much brighter. My food was good the pork in the spring rolls was dry but the peanut sauce helped. There were also three other sauces available at the table for the rolls I got and the food came out quick. The staff was attentive and helpful when I asked questions. They also brought out large glasses of water before you even ordered.

Second visit... My first visit was great. I ordered the Duck (Egg) Noodle Soup to-go previously and it was good. Duck was fine, lots of large brown mushrooms and a very hot and savory broth that made me crave it again. And then there was my SECOND visit... So I returned to dine in this round. Was excited to order the same duck noodle soup. Sad to say, it was a total let-down (enter tears). The bowl arrives and I think they've made a mistake because it looks so plain. The duck meat is super dried out, just bizarre looking and tough to bite into (see photos). There are no mushrooms or anything else to add to the soup and what really bothers me is that this is by far the most expensive soup on the menu. Ugh. I felt really taken advantage of. I left half the bowl behind as it was inedible. The server was uninterested in whether I enjoyed it or not. I will likely not return if this is the inconsistency one can expect. Of course, pho is their specialty so maybe I should drop in for that. I don't know. Try it for yourself and write your review! I'd love to hear about your experience.

Clean interior with plenty of seating.

After telling the waiter my day was going good he noticed me fighting for my life, head down on the table, and made a point to ask if I was okay again to which I admitted having a massive headache. Not the first time I received above and beyond customer service experience here and certainly won't be the last. Thank you Peter!

The restaurant appeared clean and well maintained. Service was prompt and friendly, although attentiveness tapered off once the meal was served. It seemed like the staff had shifted their focus toward preparing for the evening dinner crowd. After reading several recommendations, I ordered the Saigon Special since it included grilled pork, chicken, shrimp, and a Vietnamese egg roll. It seemed like a great way to sample several of their specialties. I also started with the fresh Vietnamese spring rolls. The spring rolls were enormous and easily large enough to share. The Saigon Special was equally generous, with a substantial portion of vermicelli noodles underneath the grilled meats. Everything tasted fresh, and each protein was cooked well, but none of the individual components really stood out. The meal leaned more toward generous portions and good value than bold or memorable. Overall, it was an enjoyable lunch with friendly service and excellent portion sizes. While I wasn't blown away by the flavors, I appreciated the freshness and value. I'd definitely come back for the pho, which I remember having a flavorful broth and a generous portion of meat on my previous visit. With several good Vietnamese restaurants in the area, though, I'll probably continue trying other spots before making this one a regular stop.

I've been searching for a restaurant that serves an authentic, perfectly crispy bánh xèo, and this place absolutely delivered. It was everything I was hoping for and is officially my go-to spot whenever I'm craving Vietnamese food. We also ordered the pork chop and the grilled pork vermicelli roll, and both were just as delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and welcoming, and the staff made the experience even better. Thu was especially kind and helpful with her recommendations and even treated us to their homemade tea, which was incredibly refreshing and a perfect complement to the meal. It's not often that we return to a restaurant twice in one week, but this place earned it. We'll definitely be back many more times and will be recommending it to all of our friends and family. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Vietnamese food in San Antonio, this is the place to go!

I am afraid that I must change my review of Pho Kim Long. I am sad to do so because this was one of…read moremy favorite local restaurants for over a decade. However, my most recent encounter has soured me completely, and I think I will never return. My favorite dish here was something that did not appear on the menu, Bo Tai Chanh salad. Even though it was not listed, they would whip it up at my request. It consists of beef cappaccio on an iceberg lettuce salad with Vietnamese vegetables and a fish sauce based dressing. Tonight they refused my order. What makes this refusal all the more frustrating is that Pho Bo Tai Chanh (the soup version) is listed on the menu and promoted as one of the favorite dishes. All that was needed, to meet my request, was to cut up half a head of lettuce and throw the non-liquid ingredients of the soup on top. Every restaurant should remember the customer is always right. Their only purpose is to meet their customers' requests to the best of their ability. I understand when a kitchen cannot meet requests with the ingredients or equipment they have. For example, I always call 24 hours ahead to order Peking Duck because the traditional methods require that amount of time to prepare the dish. Or I remember being refused a request to have my meat served rare when the restaurant had already cooked all its meat to medium rare using sous vide. I don't expect the kitchen to do the impossible. But every kitchen must be ready to meet special request whether health related like peanuts, shrimp, gluten, salt, carbohydrates, etc. or relate to tastes or ethics like vegetarian, vegans, seafood, etc. To fail one's customers is the first step to being one of the numerous restaurants to fail and become irrelevant. Any restaurant that refuses to meet reasonable requests fails the fundamental test for good service and does not deserve to be patronized. P.S. I end up going down the road to Yaya's Thai Restaurant (another local restaurant) to get something that met my tastes and preferences.
