Pretentious at best, and passable for some. Not the legend I would imagine for Pho in Southern California. The star of the show is the literally Number One on the menu. A bowl of Dac Biet Pho will set you back at the hipster pricing level for both their standard size and large. The broth is well made with all the necessary flavors and aroma intact, but I can sense that the meat, tendon, and tripe are carefully calculated for each order and if you're really hungry you may consider a large bowl. It is almost disappointing knowing many other places are more generous. The distraction to this review was their rendition of Fried Egg Rolls. Such a shame that they were subpar. Fried crispy and nice, the filling was overly sweet, and lack a balance of flavor and substance. In addition, the ratio is off when they are rolled so thin. The lack of a proper dipping fish sauce is kind of the nail in the coffin. Their Spring Rolls do seem quite different and better constructed with care and freshness. Expect a $30 meal, but they are in K-Town and not San Gabriel Valley. read more

Best pho in Koreatown. The quality of the broth is what keeps me coming back. Not to mention the amazing fresh produce and meats. I've been coming here for so long most of the staff knows both myself and my girlfriend (they also know our usual order haha). The service is fantastic. You know this pho place is good when I walk into it being a full house. It was super busy when I got in but my food came out right away. I ordered a lot of dishes to try.
