Normally when I want to eat bun Bo hue in Seattle, I go to hoang lan which is downstairs. This location is alright, I still prefer the downstairs location. The drinking water that they give tastes a little weird. I ordered a large and split it with another person and I still thought it was a lot of food. Before this summer the only time I came here was to buy their thit nem nuong. I decided to bring my grandma here to eat this summer and we've been back 3-4 times since May. To grandma their bun bo hue is authentic, I haven't been to Hue so...I'm just going to trust grandma's opinion :). It's 8 dollars a large bowl, and you have to pay in cash since that is all they accept. It comes with lots of veggies on a plate for us to share. The broth is strong, but not overwhelming with mam like some other places, and no so spicy that I have to down water after every few bites. You customize the bowl of bun bo hue to how you like it; cha, thit, gan, huyet....etc. The ladies there are very nice and make small chat with us each time we come in. I rate it highly because of how much I love the bun bo hue...ironic that it's pho my chau and all I eat there is bun bo hue lol The place could be could be cleaner in my opinion. And I often needed to get up from my seat to ask for something, since they do not stop by the table after they have brought out the food. Their take out is packaged nicely for when I buy some to bring home, they don't give less and don't skimp on how much veggies they give either. Things are wrapped tightly to prevent spilling. I really like that because from experiences at other places I feel so sad after getting home and finding broth in my plastic bag :( read more

A decent place to eat. Went here for lunch. Ordered the rice dish that consist of pork chop, shredded pork, and egg loaf. Good, nothing awesome but solid food. Authentic and looks well prepared. Service is typical asian/vietnamese which is to say spotty or nonexistent. A typical Vietnamese place which serves decent dishes at a low price. I have only eaten pho from here, but it is really yummy. For tofu pho, they give you plenty of tofo chunks and it seems like the broth is homemade (not sure--will ask next time). We got take out the last time we went and they give you enough basil, vegetables, and sauce to last two meals. The service is friendly and prompt. I love this place and enjoy the view below since I often sit by the window. It's just a view of people walking, apartments, cars, and businesses but I just enjoy people watching. #1 pho combo is my choice. The soup is tasty. I do need more beef, meatballs, tripe and other beef tendons, but it was a normal quantity for the price. $8.50 for a large bowl. This spot is my wife's savior when whe's feeling sick. A mere 3 blocks away from home, this is not our only option for pho nearby, but it is our first option. Their broth is consistently good, but it's definitely better eaten there. It's kind of a pain in the ass taking pho home and reheating the soup and all that anyway, but if you eat there, it's on the second floor corner of a shopping/business complex. My husband is originally from this area and wanted me to try their Bun Bo Hue. I have never tried it before because I would always get a combo Pho. Once the bowl came to our table the aroma was amazing! I took my sip of the broth and it was delicious. I love spicy food and this was perfect for me. I ordered a mi quang yesterday here and I was kind of disappointed on the outlook. There were barely any soup, noodles were hard, wasn't spicy and didn't fit my satisfaction. Of course I will put more spice and what not to fit my taste buds and when I was mixing the spice and my food together the owner came out and was like "next time tell me to make it spicy cause usually people don't eat it spicy" and I'm like are you freaken serious right now. I got annoyed, you don't know me and what my taste buds are, why are you judging the way I eat? And the waitress who served me said "bun bo hue is spicy, you should've ordered that." I sat there and looked at her, thats not your job to tell me what I should order, your job is to serve, not tell me what I can or can't eat. Ya'll didnt make it as originally asked! Worst service ever. The new girl that works there was so disrespectful. Not only was there a long strand of gray hair in my pho, but when I tried to tell them, the new girl with short hair told me it was mine and not theirs.... The workers were super friendly, but the restaurant is pretty dirty. And they can't seem to follow requests of costumers, we simply asked for no onions in our dish and our dish came out with onions also we requested chow mein with shrimp and tofu, dish came out with shirmp only. Typical Vietnamese restaurant that is similar to other Pho places in the surrounding area. Attentive waiters that listen and have patience. Good for lunch. Busy and sometimes quiet place for meals. I came here last year with my friends on a recommendation from my hair stylist. She was Vietnamese and sounded like she knew the area. I just moved here so I gave this place a try. We had pho and bun bo hue. They both were not good. The broth had this overly sweet taste without depth, and I know this taste very well. MSG. There was a ton of it. Ugh. We were so hungry, we still ate the food but afterwards we paid the price. Only reason for the two stars instead of one was the for the family of 7, the total came below $50. for cleanliness, the place is a little bit better than Hoang Lan restaurant. Service is ok: sit wherever you like, then they bring you a menu and come back in 1 minute to ask you what you like. Bun Bo Hue at this restaurant is really really good: intense flavor & very spicy too. the only downside is they put a little bit too much of msg in it. My quang is good too. I've been going here for years, mainly bcs it's solid, authentic VNmese food, has good value, and it's convenient for me. The pho here is OK. I think they use too much MSG or something bcs I always get thirsty afterwards. Their egg noodle & rice dishes taste better to me. The servers are nice, though they always seem to be on the run to do something else. They do need to work on making the area look cleaner though. I have been going here since i was a kid. I went in there today and suddenly while I was eating with my friend I saw a big roach crawling on the wall... when we lost our appetite and proceeded to pay, we had told the owner (I'm assuming) that we had saw the roach and his excuse was, "oh really, it's hot so you know bugs come in a lot" and dismissed us quickly. I didn't have cash on me when we went, so I had to hop across the street to the Chase atm on the other side of MLK. So maybe I am biased writing this review. Since I live in Little Saigon, I get the best Pho in Orange County. So when traveling, finding a good Pho restaurant can be challenging. My husband and I were in Seattle headed for the airport when we decided to stop in for some Pho. Like most typical Vietnamese restaurants, good service is not to be expected. The only time we spoke with someone was just to place our order, otherwise, they never come back to see if you need anything else. This restaurant was simple, undecorated, and bland...so was their food. The Pho was nothing to rave about, a bit on the bland side, and the broth looked murkier than most Pho that I have eaten. There were customers at a table next to us complaining that they waited too long. We waited about 10 minutes, ate, paid and left without a hello or thanks. Not a memorable experience. read more

Pho My Chau is definitely the place I would go eat every day. Com Suon Bo there, hands down, is the best in a Seattle. I eat here with my family once a few week, and I've eaten pho there once or twice, and the pho was OK, it could have been better overall in my opinion. Bun Bo Hue here is also OK but, again, it's my opinion. Some of the workers there are nice, but some doesn't really want to talk to you. I've been going to this place on and off for 5 years. this spot is known to me as 2nd floor because you gotta walk up two stairs up duh. anyways, majority of their employees can't speak english, so bare with them. i order pho a few times here and there and it was okay, the broth is a bit better than most, but the after taste made my taste buds rot to shit. maybe it's the onions. a couple days later, i ordered their chicken and squid fried rice and it was pretty gross. they used real squid and little cheap chicken dice meats and of course cheap microwavable vegetables from safeway. then today, on a lovely snowy day, i decided to come down to try out their grilled beef with all the good stuff. the grill beef was yummy, but the bone pieces were huge, so not enough meat for me. the pricing is reasonable, everything is about $5-7 dollars which is cheap for the small portion they served, but it is pretty filling. i also don't recommend their bubble tea, it was disgusting the last time i tried it and eventually i had to dump it out at dick's garbage can on the way to school. i will never go back to this place again, i think i've tried everything i wanted on the menu, but thanks for the good times. read more
