This was a pretty solid restaurant. They do a good job keeping the tables socially distanced and the servers wear masks. My husband ordered the Beef Pho 5/5 and I ordered the Pad Thai w/chicken 3/5, hence the 4 star rating. I should have stuck with a vermicelli dish. But last minute, the Pad Thai caught my eye. I should save that for a Thai restaurant. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't awesome. The sauce is a little on the sweet side and I couldn't really detect the umami of fish sauce. I squeezed 3 lime wedges on it but, I brought half of it home. We ordered Thai Tea and crispy egg rolls. These were delicious! I tried my husband's pho and it was very tasty. It's great to get back to trying Vietnamese food again as it is reminds me of my childhood and I've always loved the variety and freshness of the culture's food. Their menu from initial look is elegant. Simple white menu with a handful of beautiful pictures of their dishes. It would help them as a restaurant to have pictures on the inside of their menu as a lot of people typically choose based on how a dish looks. More so, not many people are familiar with Vietnamese food so it would help them a lot to have pictures. Anyway, its about time to get to the food. For our meal we ordered 3 dishes, two of which most people who do not know Vietnamese food might never try. We ordered Sweet and Sour Catfish Soup, Vermicelli Beef and Egg Roll Bowl, and Caramelized and Braised Catfish. The two Catfish dishes being the ones that people may not know about, that of which one of my favorites is the Sweet and Sour Catfish Soup. Probably coming into this dish with high expectations as this dish is one of my favorites, the Sweet and Sour Catfish Soup known as Canh Chua is typically made with Tamarind broth which gives it the sweet and sourness. For me, the highlights of this soup are all the vegetables which include pineapple chunks, tomatoes, and elephant ear stalks. My favorite of the vegetables is the elephant ear stalk called Bac Ha. It looks like celery but the composition of it is like a honeycomb structure that makes it pretty fluffy? It's hard to imagine but it allows for the soup to get absorbed in it and each bite you take just gushes out with the broth which is delicious. I would have to say I have a specific flavor profile that I enjoy the most which is Sweet and Spicy, which in this case would be Sweet, Spicy and Sour. From this particular meal, it was lacking the spicy portion of it. I would have to say the flavoring would be about a 4.25/5 for me and something like adding red thai chili peppers would take it another level higher. I should probably have been expecting that as not many restaurants actually make the soup spicy. Either way, not the best I've tried but pretty darn solid. Next up is the vermicelli Beef and Egg Roll Bowl, known as Bun Bo Nuong Cha Goi. This bowl is my version of Vietnamese Chipotle. I love mixes of noodles with different types of meat loaded with veggies. Enough said. These bowls not only taste delicious and are healthy, they are a beauty to look at. All those colors just make for a tasty picture. This came with a side plate of even more veggies and two little bowls of their side sauce typically nuoc mam, a little salty and a little sweet. This thing was a massive bowl with pretty solid flavors. The beef was flavored a little sweet which helped it stand out for the rest of the dish. The sauce is used to mixed with the whole bowl and helps to coat the veggies and noodles lightly. I did enjoy this dish and would probably rate it a 4.4/5. I think with that dish being about $15 and I had to order the egg rolls on the side making it about $18 was not a fantastic value for it. It did come with a large portion that most people could probably not finish but as most of my friends would know, I am a human food disposal. Lastly we have the Caramelized Catfish known as Ca Kho To. Just a heads up that this dish will take about 15-20 minutes to come out as the caramelizing process takes loner than people expect. They did let us know right when we ordered so that was very good of the restaurant to do that. A fun part to this dish is that it comes out in the pan they cook it in so all the juices and caramelized portions are all there to scoop up. I would have to say that same thing about this dish as the Sweet and Sour Soup. I'm so used to eating it with thai chili peppers to add some complexity to the flavors but I understand it's not for everyone and restaurants usually err on the side of caution. Overall the catfish was extremely tender and the caramelization was done well. I did really enjoy the seemingly over the top splash of green onions on there. Most places I know would've only sprinkled it but this place made it rain. As I mentioned with my love for vegetables, this was a very welcome sight. All in all this dish would be about a 4.4/5 in my book as well. To sum it up, this restaurant is a solid representation of Vietnamese food. I would give it about a 4.25/5 and might not exactly be tourist friendly because when I tried to talk to one of the servers in English, the order was a little difficult. Fortunately for me I speak a little Vietnamese and my friend assisted even further. Ginormous hearty bowls of pho! I used to frequent the location on Eastern and came here for the first time the other day. I'm a huge fan for the taste and quality of the pho. - Open restaurant - plenty of comfy booths and tables for seating - Averaging $9 for a regular bowl of pho, $10 for a large bowl of pho - Beansprouts are clean, fresh, and trimmed (some pho places they're just brown, stringy, and gross) - Broth is flavorful and delish just like the Eastern location - You can order LEAN brisket! It's not fatty and the meat is just as soft! - Pho is filled with generous portions of meat and vermicelli noodles - Service was average - nothing extravagant This would probably be my #1 recommendation for pho if you're in the Southwest area. Came here for dinner a few days ago as it was really cold and we all wanted something warm/hot after a day of helping a friend move. This was something nearby and we all agreed. We were immediately sat at a table when we arrived and had gotten waters. 2 of us gotten #21 large (Noodle w/ rare eye of round, flank, brisket, tendon, and skirt flank). 1 had gotten the #11 small (Noodle with rare eye of round). Another had gotten #15 small (Noodle with rare eye of round and beef ball). One of my friends had gotten the sausage/pork roll (i believe was #5) as he had other dinner plans (which got we later found out next day that they were canceled.... Lol) As with all pho noodle soups, it comes with a plate with fresh herbs, bean sprouts, jalapeno slices, and wedges of lime. Reason why i got #21 is that it is most similar to what is called "Combination Pho or Pho Dac Biet" in a lot of other restaurants, which is essentially the one with everything. The only thing that this didn't have that some others may have is either tripe or beef balls. Average sized large bowl. Good amount of meat and noodles. Add herbs and bean sprouts to the bottom under the noodles, squeeze some limes and you gots a good bowl of pho. Oh a side dish of hoisin and sriracha too for dipping meat. I don't know if it was because i was super hungry and barely had food, or was cold cuz of weather, but this hit the spot, even if it didnt last that long (got hungry later at night.. haha) The restaurant is mildly small and could get busy due to limited seats but its a fairly decent size. Prices seem mildly higher than those in Chinatown but for convenience if you are in the area, the price difference is very negligible. They are willing to split the bill without restrictions which was good. Not really much complaints besides some unreasonable ones (like not enough meat, not enough noodles.. should have ordered some egg rolls (cha gio) too ! but wait werent they considerably more pricey than other places...?) lol... .right? unreasonable.. hahaha ! read more

I used to go to their Eastern location a lot with my family when I still lived on that side of town. And now that it's opened on the Southwest, I wouldn't have to travel to Chinatown or the Southeast for pho anymore! The place is super clean when we were there. Utensils aren't at the tables like they normally are for a pho place. The server brings you the utensils after you order. I either like to order pho tai, which is pho with rare steak, or a pho tai bo vien, which is pho with rare steak and meatballs. You are able to either get a large bowl or small bowl and they're usually $1 difference. When I went with my husband one night, I was so hungry that I ordered a large bowl of pho while he ordered a small bowl. When they came with our food, they gave me his small bowl thinking it was mine. Hahahaha. I love pho because most places have piping hot soup and if they don't, they're horrible. And the best thing about Pho Saigon 8 is that their broth is actually very decent! It's always consistent whenever I go to the Eastern location and I imagine the Rainbow location would be the same. The broth isn't watered down or overly salty. It's not sweet either! Yes, there are pho places where their broth is sweet. Also, if the broth sucks, I typically pour a gallon of sriracha into it but here I don't! The prices are a bit higher than most other pho places but not by a lot. I went here with my friend to eat a few weeks ago. The only other time I've been here is to pick up a to go order. Ok let's talk about ambience... it's a typical Vietnamese pho joint which gets busy at times! Ive ordered a couple of food items which wasn't so tasty but there are also ones I do enjoy. Such as the banh cuon its tasty but i wish their servings is a big bigger in size. If you order that alone you won't be full. The pho here is pretty good. The soda chanh muoi is kinda sweet but if you let them know they will adjust it to make it taste better for you. The service at this location varies depending on who you get as a server... some are good and some aren't. Hello to location number 3! Can you say convenient? Thank you for coming to the southwest! This restaurant is located right off of the freeway on 215 and Rainbow across from the Walmart shopping center in the 7-Eleven plaza. Inside is spacious and clean with plenty of parking out front. Service was good. Everyone was very attentive and our waters were never less than half full. Unlike the other pho restaurants the soup spoons and chopsticks are not left at the table. So if you accidentally drop one be ready to wave down a server for another one lol Banh Canh Saigon - BEST in Vegas!! This is what I come here for always. I love the flavor and thickness of the broth with the long tapioca noodles. Bowl is loaded with straw mushrooms, shrimp, pork, and pork blood. My favorite! Will not disappoint. Pho Dac Biet - Good! Their broth is nice and flavorful. Definitely one of the better pho broths in Vegas. Cha Gio - Perfectly seasoned inside. Served hot and crispy with fresh veggies and pickled carrots/radishes for you to lettuce wrap it with. Comes with nuoc mam for you to dip it in. TIP: If you want your eggrolls / appetizers to come out first make sure you tell your server that. If not the entrees will come out first. Goi Cuon - Good If you're looking for good pho in the southwest this is the place to be. Spacious, clean, and quick service. This is my go-to viet spot! I'm giving it 4 stars based on the variety of food it offer (that other pho spots don't), its good value and good portions. I'm just knocking it a star down because sometimes the quality of food isn't consistent but for the most part, it is good enough. The pho and vermicelli imo are the pillars of any go to pho spots. Pho broth is consistently flavorful and vermicelli (w/ egg roll and grilled pork) is usually good (except for my most recent visit which I felt like they put in old lettuce and overcooked the vermicelli). My favorite Vietnamese dish is banh cuon which they do offer there. It isn't the best but it is good enough to satisfy my cravings. I also enjoy the thit nuong cuon since I can't find it at most other places. Again, not the best (idk why they put in carrots in it last time) but good enough. They also have banh xeo here (another of my favorite) and I will order this next time. I also ordered min xào cua because I wanted to try something new. It is their stir fried glass noodles w/ crab which was mouthwatering. Don't put too much weight on this thought since it's my first time eating this. read more

Been here several times now and out of all the times I've never had a bad experience. I usually order two things. Com Thit Nuong and Bum Bo Hue. The Com Thit Nuong's beef has a bit of charr to it which makes for the perfect crunch.This dish also comes with the pho soup. So if you're deciding if you want soup or rice you should just get this cause it comes with soup. So you get the best of both worlds. To make the perfect pho soup it cannot be salty. It's literally a large bowl of bone broth. It should be very clear and tasteful. If it makes you thirsty, then there's probably extra salt. I am a big fan of spicy soup. Especially with pork blood. I know it sounds gross, but don't knock it till you try it. This restaurant by far has the best Bum Bo Hue. What makes them different is they don't have all the oil in it. Most pho places that make this soup adds too much chili oil. So when I drink it alone, I can taste a spoon full of oil. The broth here is spicy and tasteful. They don't add too much meat where it over powers your bowl. The noodles is the perfect amount. Note: they do not make this in a small. If you get the large, you won't regret it. I stopped in Pho Saigon 8 for a quick bite during lunch. They're located right off Rainbow and 215 and have plenty of parking. I know some of the reviews mentioned issues with service quality and speed, but my experience was pretty good all the way through. I was greeted and seated right away. The server immediately said that he would bring water over and to take a look if I wanted any other beverages. I always go for the house special when I get pho. I like the "everything combo". They didn't explicitly list out such and item on the menu. I asked my server if they had a house special and he said "I got you" without hesitation. It was really nice to just be taken care of and let the kitchen make something up for me. My combo pho came out delicious. The "large size" serving was appropriate and they definitely do fill it up. My only complaint is that I wished they had more variety of meats in my special combo. The best part of this experience was that I was charged the regular 9.99 rate for my special order. My first Vietnamese review! I have never eaten at a Vietnamese restaurant before so this review is a first impression take. The restaurant is visibly clean in the dining room and the condiments are filled. We were seated and greeted instantly. We were given a plate or basil, bean sprouts and raw jalapeño which I imagine goes with our food on the side. The server came to ask for our order but in the middle of telling her, she interrupted us and said someone else would just take it. Odd. The side station looks clean but I'm instantly put off by the bus person has her hands INSIDE THE ICE. Cup after cup I'm watching her scoop ice with the cup and her bare hands and flicking the water back into the ice bin, so regardless of how good the food is, you have to wonder how clean the kitchen truly is where we can't see it. I am also watching these servers and bus people hold the cup where your mouth goes with their thumbs inside the cups. She also just took her hand and smashed the ice into the water pitcher to keep it from falling out. The food came out quickly and tastes good and in large portions especially for lunch, which is why I gave it a 2 star. read more

Disappointed! Pho Saigon 8 has two other locations that have been open for many years. This location is their newest one and does not meet the quality of the others. The Eastern and 215 location is the best. FOOD: We tried serval different dishes and sadly is was not good at all. Everything was bland and overcooked, from the meat to the noodles to the soup. The most decent dish was the spring rolls. DRINK: They sell Vietnamese dessert drinks, sodas, beers, and wine. I didn't want to get any drinks considering how bad the food was. SERVICE: They are extremely unstaffed. They have one cashier, one waiter, one server, and one bus boy. It took forever for someone to seat us and even longer for someone to come take our order. They came and took our order three times and yet our food still did not come out. As I looked around the restaurant, I could tell that the other customers were annoyed as well. The server and the cooks kept arguing with each other and it quickly became awkward (especially since I speak Vietnamese and can understand what they are saying). They did not bring us drinks, utensils, or anything unless we asked. When it was time to pay, the cashier was no where to be found as many tables were waiting to pay, it turned out he was doing something outside the restaurant and the server had to go get him. Hands down my favorite pho place in Vegas! I had a couple go-to places for pho before but after Pho Saigon 8 opened, this is my only place to go in Southwest area. Food is great! I always had meatball pho because it will come out safe everywhere I guess.. but their meatball itself is already different, it's more chewy and just a better grade quality I could taste. So I decided to try Bun Bo Hue as well, and I was impressed! The main reason I will return her is because if the quality of food they serve, cleanness, and presentation. The environment is always clean, and my vegetable plate for my noodles are always fresh, clean, crisp, and well organized on the plate. Service was welcoming and friendly. Although they are not 'great service' like fancy restaurant, but among Vietnamese restaurant I think they are fast, hardworking, and knowledgeable. Don't take it personal. But how about teach the servers what is the name of the food as they serve it on the table. all of the servers that placed the food on our table said the entree's NUMBER? How the heck am I gonna memorize what is #5 on the menu?! But I asked politely if s/he could check on the menu what food is that number and was totally ignored. You can't always assume that the customers knows which one is which, specially if they're trying the food for the first time. I have found my new favorite place to get Vietnamese food! I called in a carry out order here yesterday for the first time and am very pleased with my experience. They were easy to locate and had 2 parking spots right by the door specifically for quick carry out orders that I was able to take advantage of. The restaurant was very clean and I was immediately greeted upon entering. The order was perfect, no mistakes, I was given a good amount of meat for my soup, it was reasonably priced and everything tasted great! I wish I would have known to request extra red sauce because the 1 packet I received was just not enough. I came here for the first time during dinner time and they weren't busy at all. There were probably 5 tables including us so we got greeted and seated right away. As we sat down our server was so quick to bring us our forks/ napkins, and waters. I'm amazed. The environment is beautiful and spacious. Within literally 4 minutes our server took our order, to me that's pretty quick and efficient. I ordered a large beef pho with brisket only. They don't have the brisket only option on the menu but my server was more than willing to accommodate me in what I wanted. My fiancè ordered the Sliced Grilled Pork with Egg Roll & steamed rice. We waited less than 10 minutes for our food and at the food window it looked like there was a manager overseeing the food being taken out so when my pho came out he asked the cook why is there so little meat and my server intervened to explain to him that I only wanted brisket. I really appreciated that a lot, the manager ensured my order was going out accurately. Then when it came to my fiancè's bowl it was semi-correct, instead of the steamed rice like he wanted they gave him rice noodles. We didn't say anything just because I'm that type of customer to accept what is given if it's a tedious mistake such as rice noodles instead of steamed rice. No biggie, the vermicelli was good anyway! Our total check was $22 with tax but without tip so it isn't bad for two people. This is a good late night pho place that remains open until 11pm so if you don't want to travel all the way to China town you have this place on Rainbow. read more

Found this spot since it was near the house and unlike some other ding dang Pho places around the area (which are my faves)...they were open on July 4th til late.. Yay! Plenty of parking at the time i went.. which was around 6pm. Walking in.. It wasn't too busy so we got sat right away.. They have booth style seating and regular tables and chairs.. They got high chairs for those kiddos.. Cool! I ordered the Grilled Chicken w Egg Roll Vermicelli - so ill review on that.. The portion of the Chicken and Noodles was a little unfair.. wish it had more of the chicken.. but the 2 egg rolls it came with did help a tad. The soup/sauce base was fantastic.. and you'll never find a Vietnamese restaurant without hoisin sauce and sriracha.. so i dabbed those in there and poured that sauce.. mixed it up.. and went to town! - DELICIOUS !! - it did have some peanuts in there.. so be weary if you have an allergy or something weird like that.. There was also some salad in the bottom.. Just left that place and I gotta say it has a horrible costumer service. Let's begin with their free WiFi failure. I couldn't get signed on and had to provide my email and other information. Well, the damn thing never worked but I sure got an email from them immediately. Then I pull out my credit card once I was done and the waiter comes and wants to take it and he got mad cause I asked him to provide me with the bill first. I mean, you want to know what you're paying before they run your credit card, right! Well, he got me the bill and purposely killed some time making me wait. Update: I usually order the white meat chicken pho, but the texture of the chicken isn't my favorite so I decided to try the dark meat chicken during my last visit. No surprise, I disliked it even more than the white chicken. Thinking they had good customer service, I asked the server if I could just have the white chicken instead brought to me on a side plate since I really didn't eat any of the dark chicken. The server's response was, "are you kidding me?" which threw me off a little. I've been going to Pho Saigon 8 on Spring Mountain for years and have never had this problem. If a customer doesn't like their food, you would think they would at least apologize or accommodate to their needs to make the rest of your visit better. I guess not here. Maybe I'll just get a different item from the menu. Sigh. This new location is so clean and the service is quick. They're always filling your water and always grabbing dirty plates out of the way. Not only is the service quick, but the staff is also very friendly! They make sure everyone at the table is satisfied with their service. For their grand opening, they're giving their guests complimentary spring rolls which is very generous of them. I recommend bringing your family here as it is also very family friend! This is my go to place to get pho near my house unless I feel like driving to Chinatown. But as usual I like to get the combination pho with the fried egg rolls. Those are my go to things when I go here. The parking is close by and always open. This place is always a hit or miss when it comes to refilling your water. That is one of my pet peeves when dining in a restaurant. It's one thing to serve our food but to at least check up on us to see if anything is needed and it was not that busy. We came fist but We have to waited for 40 minute because they too busy to serve for bigger table even they came behind us. Update from manager response! So happy about this new SW side location, the best Pho in town is now just minutes away instead of driving to China Town. Order the egg rolls, pho with brisketanf shrimp fried rice!!! All of it is amazing and authentic. The Avocado smoothie with boba is a delicious sweet dessert!! So happy to have this in the neighborhood!!! Recently craving some Pho, I happen to catch Pho Saigon 8 out of the corner of my eye and am I glad I did! I first noticed that the business was full, even as people were leaving, it seemed as though all the tables were occupied. The lady who greeted and seated my friend and me was very friendly and welcoming. She had us seated immediately. The second thing I noticed was the cleanliness. The tables were quickly wiped clean as people left. The menu was extensive and had a good explanation of the various menu items. I chose the beef strip Pho and my friend had the chicken breast Pho. We also had an order of shrimp veggie rolls. All was very tasty and the Pho was plentiful. The beef and the chicken were very tasty, fresh, and juicy. They definitely did not skimp on the amount placed in the bowls. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to my friends and it is definitely going to be my go to when craving Pho! read more

This place has been opened for a year now and the food is fresh and delicious. The service is very friendly and efficient. They deliver customer service the right way especially in Las Vegas. We ordered late at 11 pm both the Pho beef/flank/brisket and #42 dry Combo noodles with the broth on the side. Excellent broth and delicious noodle bowls. I had to bring my review to 5 stars for the sheer fact that I return here so often. It gets my weekly dosage of Vietnamese out of the way and I actually enjoy coming back.
