We tried this while visiting downtown Omaha, and picked it for dinner. I am not sure why this place doesn't have higher ratings because it has a huge high quality variety of salads, sandwiches, soups, and pizza. It's really really good. We each got a side side salad and shared a small pizza. Our salads were filled with great healthy veggies and toppings. The pizza was quite good, we tried the veggie pizza in cauliflower crust, and it was delicious. One of the things I look for with a restaurant like this is a place that can make a real salad with real varied greens and a variety of fresh diverse toppings. Absolutely delicious and healthy. I'm not really into sub sandwiches, especially cooked ones...However I've been wanting to try Pickleman's to see how they compare to others...Walking in I was surprisingly impressed at how nice it was inside, especially in comparison to certain other sub shops...The guy making my sandwich was really friendly and talkative and in fact everyone there struck me as being pretty upbeat...I enjoyed my sandwich, more so because I was able to get mozzarella instead of that damned provolone cheese on it...even being cooked it really hit the spot...price wise, yeah it may be on the high side, but what isn't these days? Omg. SO good. We had the italian club and the Walnut cranberry salad. Very tasty, filling. The bread was warmmmmmm. So good. The location was a little tricky to find a parking spot at, there are one way streets. But parking is free after 9pm. The shop was cute and clean and well lit. 1st & last time! The staff was extremely rude when we asked questions! Clearly they didn't want to be there. My overpriced $6 sub had barely any turkey on it and when I asked for salt & pepper on it, I was told to do it myself with packets! This is a sandwich place right? Eh- it was ok- and I might try it again-but there is nothing "gourmet" about this place- it is a quick deli. I got the #1- turkey on wheat with added avocado- I was expecting an actual avocado (cafe 110 - down the road uses actual avocado) I was unimpressed to find a smeared store bought spread- even jimmy johns avocado spread was better than this... Very slim- dry meat. Iceberg lettuce- not impressed. No hi top seating and just a couple of 2 seaters- I felt bad that I was solo and taking up a 4 top :( I would definitely vote GoodCents for the best deli sandwich in town, and Cafe 110 for great soup and a comfortable deli experience. If I had to grab Picklemans in a bind, I might do it. Oh and the people that complain about parking...the front stalls seem to be taken up by the employees-I noticed a couple of them paying the meter out front. The food was fine, we ordered pizzas. My problem is when I called this place, they seemed to have no idea what was going on. I was trying to order pizza for 9 people and they tried to sell me 9 pizzas. The guy taking my order couldn't seem to grasp this concept, and it seemed like he either couldn't hear me or wasn't listening. We were at a hotel that is literally down the street from this place, and they had no idea where it was. The delivery person ended up getting lost because they sent her to Woodmen tower instead of the hotel. Also, we were trying to make sure there was no shellfish on the menu because a friend of mine is allergic, and the person taking my order couldn't understand the nature of that question. I asked "Do you have shellfish on the menu" and the guy said "No sorry man, you'll have to get that somewhere else." Seems to be a hybrid of Panera + Jimmy John's. Had a 1/2 soup, 1/2 sandwich. Soup was tasty but sandwich was small. I paid over $10 by the time I added just a drink and nothing else. Only thing that seemed Gourmet was the price. They are just starting out so I will give them another chance. read more

I ordered the buffalo chicken which turned out to be one of the best sandwiches I've ever ordered. I would highly recommend it to anyone who goes to Pickleman's. The friend I went in with ordered their grilled cheese with the tomato soup, I had a bite and that was fantastic as well! We both thought the food was terrific (by far the best quick service type restaurant in downtown Omaha), and the restaurant was nice. We did however have to wait a bit to order our sandwiches, but considering there were probably 30 people in line in front of us the service was actually incredibly fast. read more

Dining alone tonight so I just wanted to grab a quick meal. Saw this place and decided to give it a try. I was a bit worried as there was only one other person in the place and he looked a bit "sketchy". I ordered the 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad combo. They have online ordering which saved our team a ton of time and didn't mess up any of our orders (can't say that for Jason's Deli or a few other Denver establisments!). I really enjoy this place, for the fact they deliver to my home and because they are so much better then subway or jimmy john's. I get the Italian beef with hot peppers and mozzarella with au jus for dipping. Ahhhmazing. I have also had the salad's and soup, and they've never had a call back from me for forgetting an item I've ordered. I work Downtown and Pickleman's is the fastest delivery that offers salads. My problem is that my salad is wrong 98% of the time. Seriously. Not joking! I honestly have given up on complaining. It has become the running joke of the office. I order the exact same salad everytime. I always order the AvoCobb salad. And it usually is missing one of the main ingredients...the egg, the bacon, the avocado, or the cheese, or any combination of those four ingredients. Today, it was missing the cheese. Last time, it was the egg. Yes, I have called and complained. Yes, I have called and requested that they deliver the missing items. Yes, I even put a note on the order that asks them to verify the accuracy of my salad. For $10, I expect my salad to be correct. I think I may have ordered for the last time. read more

I placed an online order at Pickleman's for delivery at 9:30 PM. The delivery guy showed up at my doorstep promptly and with a smile, despite how late my order was placed. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Club (still warm when I got it) and loved how fresh the ingredients tasted compared to some of their competitors'! Subpar food. Messed up my order and said they would deliver another sandwich. 45 minutes later, I called to get a refund and forget about the sandwich. They suggested they would refund and still deliver my replacement sandwich. Well, still waiting on that sandwich. Should have gone with Jimmy Johns. Just found out they "updated" their menu and now charge for pizza toppings like olives and onion that are all free if you order a sandwich. This is not posted anywhere in the store and when you ask the college dropout "musician" about it he just shrugs and says "yea man we just updated our menu bro" and shrugs his shoulders. I didn't see anything new on the menu, or anything missing, just the glaring omission that they were gonna bend you over a barrel of you wanted any free sandwich items added to your pizza. I was a semi frequent visitor to this location but now I'll avoid all of them and go somewhere that won't nickle and dime their customers. I didn't realize times were so tough for Olive and onion farmers these days, I shutter to think at the pure hell they must be living....oh wait Pickleman's is just being greedy and charging $.99 ea for 3 strands of onion and what amounts to 4 whole olives. At the very least they should TRAIN their employees to inform customers that there is a hidden greed charge for each topping, instead of surprising the victi...customer when you ring them up. read more
